Objective: To analyze the trends of the frequency of meat, egg, and milk consumption among rural primary and junior high school students in central and western China covered by the Nutrition Improvement Program for Rural Compulsory Education Students (NIPRCES) from 2015 to 2023, so as to provide basis for formulating more targeted nutrition intervention policies and health education strategies. Methods: Using data from six rounds of monitoring and evaluation (2015-2021 and 2023), the study included 323 870 students from grade 3 to 9 across 22 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in central and western China. The consumption frequencies of meat, egg, and milk over the past week were collected via questionnaires. The Cochran-Armitage trend test was used to analyze temporal trends, and multivariable Logistic regression models were employed to analyze factors associated with the frequency of meat, egg and milk consumption and to test for interaction effects between the year and gender, region, and grade level. Results: From 2015 to 2023, the proportion of students consuming meat, egg, and milk ≥1 time/day increased from 23.20 %, 10.71%, and 0.74% to 35.53%, 22.09%, and 26.63%, respectively. Trend tests indicated a significant upward trend for the daily intake of all three food categories for meat, egg and milk over the years ( Z =67.18, 64.90, 93.14, all P <0.01). Multivariable Logistic regression analysis showed that the daily meat intake was lower in the central region than in the western region ( OR=0.77, 95%CI =0.76-0.78), whereas the daily intake of eggs ( OR=1.19, 95%CI =1.17-1.22) and milk ( OR= 1.27 , 95%CI =1.24-1.29) was higher in the central region (all P <0.05). Compared with grade 3-4 students, junior high school students had lower daily intake of meat, eggs, and milk≥1 time/day ( OR =0.95, 0.77, 0.77, all P <0.05), with a declining trend as grade increased. Girls also had lower daily intake of meat, eggs, and milk ≥1 time/day than boys ( OR =0.95，0.93，0.91, all P < 0.05). Significant interactions were observed between year and region, as well as between year and grade (all P <0.05). Conclusion From 2015 to 2023, the NIPRCES improved the intake level of among rural students, but the situation of relatively insufficient intake of egg and milk among females, junior high school students and those in the western region still exists.

This article provides a systematic interpretation and review of the Society of Critical Care Medicine 2024 Guidelines on Adult ICU Design. Developed based on the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation methodology, the guideline address five core themes: ICU layout, room design, infection control, infrastructure, and staff spaces, and put forward 17 evidence-based recommendations, including 5 good practice statements. This article briefly introduces the guideline development methods and evidence characteristics, and focuses on summarizing key recommendations, including high-visibility layouts, single-bed ward settings, natural lighting and noise reduction strategies, integrated infection prevention and control design, remote monitoring, and flexible capacity expansion capabilities. Furthermore, it delves into the applicability and localized implementation pathways within China's healthcare environment, analyzing limitations in terms of evidence quality, specialty applicability, and cost-effectiveness. Furthermore, by integrating the Chinese Guidelines for the Construction and Development of Critical Care Medicine (2025 Edition) and current domestic practices, the article proposes tiered and phased implementation recommendations. This article aims to provide domestic healthcare institutions with a scientific reference that balances international cutting-edge concepts with China's real-world conditions for the construction and renovation of ICUs, thereby promoting the development of intensive care environments centered on patient safety, healthcare worker well-being, and infection control.

Hepatic alveolar echinococcosis is a highly invasive zoonotic parasitic disease with poor prognosis. Surgical intervention serves as the pivotal approach to achieve radical cure and improve the prognosis of hepatic alveolar echinococcosis patients. In recent years, with the popularization of the concept of precision surgery and the development of the multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment model, the surgical treatment strategies for hepatic alveolar echinococcosis have been continuously enriched, and the selection of surgical procedures has become increasingly diversified. Although key surgical techniques such as radical hepatectomy, autologous liver transplantation and allogeneic liver transplantation have achieved remarkable progress in clinical application, many insurmountable challenges still remain. Therefore, by sorting out the latest evidence-based advances in the field of surgical treatment for hepatic alveolar echinococcosis, this article focuses on discussing the application status and bottlenecks of radical hepatectomy, autologous liver transplantation and allogeneic liver transplantation in hepatic alveolar echinococcosis, aiming to provide a reference for the clinical treatment of hepatic alveolar echinococcosis.

ObjectiveTo establish a castrated male mouse model and to preliminarily investigate the effects of testosterone replacement therapy （TRT） on behavior， serum indices， and histopathological changes in castrated mice， as well as to explore the role of androgens in cognitive function. MethodsForty 6-month-old male C57/BL6J mice were randomly divided into sham operation group， castration group， testosterone propionate （0.5，1.0 mg/kg） treated group， with 10 mice in each group. Following castration and subcutaneous administration of testosterone propionate at different doses （0.5 and 1.0 mg/kg） for TRT， learning and memory abilities were assessed using the Morris water maze （MWM） test and the passive avoidance test. Serum testosterone and serum brain-derived neurotrophic factor （BDNF） levels were measured by ELISA， and histopathological changes in the hippocampus were examined using hematoxylin-eosin （HE） staining. ResultsRoutine observations： there were no statistically significant differences in body weight among groups at any time point. MWM test： compared with castration group， sham operation group and testosterone propionate-treated groups （0.5， 1.0 mg/kg） showed significantly reduced escape latency on days 4 and 5 （P0.05）， while the number of platform crossings and the time spent in the target quadrant significantly increased （P0.05）. Passive avoidance test： the number of passive avoidance errors significantly decreased in sham operation group and testosterone propionate （1.0 mg/kg）-treated group （P0.05）， and the passive avoidance latency was significantly prolonged in sham-operated group and testosterone propionate-treated groups （0.5， 1.0 mg/kg） （P0.05）. Serum testosterone and serum BDNF assays： serum testosterone levels and serum BDNF concentrations significantly increased in sham operation group and testosterone propionate-treated groups （0.5， 1.0 mg/kg） （P0.01）. HE staining： compared with sham operation group， neuronal density in all hippocampal subregions was slightly reduced in castration group； in the testosterone propionate （0.5 mg/kg）-treated group， neuronal arrangement in the CA1 and CA3 regions was improved and apoptotic cells were reduced compared with castration group； in testosterone propionate （1.0 mg/kg）-treated group， the pyramidal cell layer in the CA3 region was more compactly arranged， with fewer apoptotic cells than in castration group. ConclusionTRT improves learning and memory performance in castration male mice， potentially through modulation of hippocampal BDNF signaling pathways.

OBJECTIVE To compare the efficacy of ceftazidime and avibactam （CZA） monotherapy and combination therapy in the treatment of carbapenem-resistant Gram-negative bacteria （CRGNB） infections， and analyze the influencing factors. METHODS The data of patients with CRGNB infection who received CZA treatment from January 2020 to March 2025 were collected retrospectively. The patients were divided into the CZA monotherapy group （52 cases） and the CZA combination therapy group （85 cases） according to treatment regimen. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared， and the drug susceptibility results of isolated strains were recorded. The multivariate Logistic regression model was used to analyze the factors influencing clinical efficacy of CRGNB patients. RESULTS The bacterial clearance rate of patients was significantly higher in the CZA combination therapy group than in the CZA monotherapy group （P＝0.012）. However， when comparing the 30-day mortality rate and the clinical response rate between the two groups， no statistically significant differences were observed （P＞0.05）. Among the isolates， carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae had the highest sensitivity to tigecycline （87.3%） and carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa showed 90.9% sensitivity to amikacin. Five isolates were resistant to CZA. The multivariate Logistic regression showed， lung infection， receiving continuous renal replacement therapy （CRRT）， and inadequate treatment courses were significantly correlated with clinical treatment failure （P＜0.05）. CONCLUSIONS For CRGNB infection， the clinical efficacy of CZA combination therapy is similar to that of monotherapy， but the combination therapy has a higher bacterial clearance rate. Objective: To evaluate the effects of problem-oriented respiratory rehabilitation nursing on lung function, activity ability, length of hospital stay, and retention time of closed chest drainage tube in patients undergoing thoracoscopic radical resection for lung cancer, so as to provide a basis for improving the prognosis of patients with lung cancer surgery. Methods: A total of 119 patients with lung cancer who underwent thoracoscopic radical resection for lung cancer in the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University from October 2023 to June 2024 were selected and randomly divided into the intervention group (n=59) and the control group (n=60). The control group received routine respiratory rehabilitation nursing of thoracic surgery. On the basis of the treatment and guidance received by the control group, the intervention group implemented problem-oriented respiratory rehabilitation nursing. First second expiratory volume (FEV1) and forced vital capacity (FVC) were used to evaluate pulmonary function at 1 day before surgery and 3 days after surgery, and the 6-minute walk distance (6MWD) was used to evaluate physical activity. The incidence of pulmonary complications, length of hospital stay and retention time of closed chest drainage tube were collected through the hospital's electronic medical records system. The intervention effects between the two groups were compared using variance analysis of repeated-measures analysis of variance and log-rank test. Results: The mean age of the control group was (60.77±9.31) years, with 28 males and 32 females. There were 4 cases of squamous cell carcinoma, 55 cases of adenocarcinoma, and 1 case of small cell carcinoma. The tumors were located in the right lobe in 41 cases. The mean age of the intervention group was (58.71±10.01) years, with 23 males and 36 females. There were 2 cases of squamous cell carcinoma, 56 cases of adenocarcinoma, and 1 case of small cell carcinoma. The tumors were located in the right lobe in 37 cases. There were no statistically significant differences in age, gender, education level, pathological type, and tumor location between the two groups (all P>0.05). Three days after surgery, there was an interaction effect between the group and the time in FEV1, FVC, and 6MWD between the two groups. The FEV1 and 6MWD in the intervention group were higher than those in the control group (both P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in FVC between the groups (P>0.05). There were 3 cases of postoperative complications in the control group, and no cases in the intervention group. Log-rank test showed that the length of hospital stay and retention time of closed chest drainage tube after surgery in the intervention group were shorter than those in the control group (both P<0.05). Conclusion The problem-oriented respiratory rehabilitation nursing can improve the lung function and activity ability of patients with lung cancer after surgery, shorten the length of hospital stay and retention time of closed chest drainage tube, and improve the quality of life.

Objective: To investigate the expression and functional role of FK506 binding protein 10 (FKBP10) in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), and to provide a research basis for the estimated prognosis and targeted therapy of OSCC. Methods: A total of 284 OSCC samples and 19 normal samples were selected from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database, and diagnostic analysis was performed to determine mRNA expression. Survival analysis for FKBP10 and OSCC was conducted on a gene expression profile interaction analysis website. Real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR and Western Blot were used to detect the mRNA and protein expression of FKBP10 in four OSCC cell lines and SAS and SCC9 cells transfected with siRNA. The cell proliferation ability of FKBP10-silenced cells was detected using the CCK8 method, and the cell cycle distribution and apoptosis were detected by flow cytometry. Cell migration and invasion ability were detected through wound healing and invasion experiments. The expression changes of total protein and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)-serine/threonine kinase (AKT) after FKBP10 silencing were analyzed by proteomics and Western Blot. Results: According to the analysis of gene expression levels, the mRNA expression level of FKBP10 in OSCC was significantly higher than that in normal tissues (P < 0.001). In terms of diagnosis, the expression level of FKBP10 has unique diagnostic value for OSCC (P < 0.05). The survival analysis of FKBP10 and OSCC showed that a high expression of FKBP10 led to a decrease in patient survival and poor prognosis (P < 0.05). The expression of FKBP10 mRNA and protein in OSCC cell lines was higher than that in normal oral keratinocytes (P < 0.001). Silencing FKBP10 can reduce the proliferation, invasion, and migration ability of SAS and SCC9 (P < 0.001), and also block their cell cycle in the G0/G1 phase (P < 0.001), with a significant increase in apoptosis (P < 0.05). Protein mass spectrometry and Western blot analysis revealed that FKBP10 silencing significantly downregulated the expression of multiple proteins in the RAP1 signaling pathway, mainly RAP guanine nucleotide exchange factor 1 (RAPGEF1) (P < 0.05) and the phosphorylation of PI3K-AKT proteins (P < 0.05). Conclusion FKBP10 is highly expressed in OSCC, leading to poor prognosis for patients. Downregulated FKBP10 expression can inhibit the proliferation, migration, and invasion ability of OSCC cells, hinder cell cycle progression, and promote apoptosis via the RAP1-PI3K-AKT axis. FKBP10 is a potential therapeutic target and prognostic biomarker for OSCC.

Diabetes is a very complex endocrine disease whose common feature is the increase in blood glucose concentration. Persistent hyperglycemia can lead to blindness, kidney and heart disease, neurodegeneration, and many other serious complications that have a significant impact on human health and quality of life. The number of people with diabetes is increasing yearly. The global diabetes prevalence in 20-79 year olds in 2021 was estimated to be 10.5% (536.6 million), and it will rise to 12.2% (783.2 million) in 2045. The main modes of intervention for diabetes include medication, dietary management, and exercise conditioning. Medication is the mainstay of treatment. Marketed diabetes drugs such as metformin and insulin, as well as GLP-1 receptor agonists, are effective in controlling blood sugar levels to some extent, but the preventive and therapeutic effects are still unsatisfactory. Peptide drugs have many advantages such as low toxicity, high target specificity, and good biocompatibility, which opens up new avenues for the treatment of diabetes and other diseases. Currently, insulin and its analogs are by far the main life-saving drugs in clinical diabetes treatment, enabling effective control of blood glucose levels, but the risk of hypoglycemia is relatively high and treatment is limited by the route of delivery. New and oral anti-diabetic drugs have always been a market demand and research hotspot. Inhibitor cystine knot (ICK) peptides are a class of multifunctional cyclic peptides. In structure, they contain three conserved disulfide bonds (C3-C20, C7-C22, and C15-C32) form a compact “knot” structure, which can resist degradation of digestive protease. Recent studies have shown that ICK peptides derived from legume, such as PA1b, Aglycin, Vglycin, Iglycin, Dglycin, and aM₁, exhibit excellent regulatory activities on glucose and lipid metabolism at the cellular and animal levels. Mechanistically, ICK peptides promote glucose utilization by muscle and liver through activation of IR/AKT signaling pathway, which also improves insulin resistance. They can repair the damaged pancrease through activation of PI3K/AKT/Erk signaling pathway, thus lowering blood glucose. The biostability and hypoglycemic efficacy of the ICK peptides meet the requirements for commercialization of oral drugs, and in theory, they can be developed into natural oral anti-diabetes peptide drugs. In this review, the structural properties, activity and mechanism of ICK pattern peptides in regulating glucose and lipid metabolism were summaried, which provided a reference for the development of new oral peptides for diabetes.

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a central neurodegenerative disease characterized by progressive cognitive decline and memory impairment in clinical. Currently, there are no effective treatments for AD. In recent years, a variety of therapeutic approaches from different perspectives have been explored to treat AD. Although the drug therapies targeted at the clearance of amyloid β-protein (Aβ) had made a breakthrough in clinical trials, there were associated with adverse events. Neuroinflammation plays a crucial role in the onset and progression of AD. Continuous neuroinflammatory was considered to be the third major pathological feature of AD, which could promote the formation of extracellular amyloid plaques and intracellular neurofibrillary tangles. At the same time, these toxic substances could accelerate the development of neuroinflammation, form a vicious cycle, and exacerbate disease progression. Reducing neuroinflammation could break the feedback loop pattern between neuroinflammation, Aβ plaque deposition and Tau tangles, which might be an effective therapeutic strategy for treating AD. Traditional Chinese herbs such as Polygonum multiflorum and Curcuma were utilized in the treatment of AD due to their ability to mitigate neuroinflammation. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen and indomethacin had been shown to reduce the level of inflammasomes in the body, and taking these drugs was associated with a low incidence of AD. Biosynthetic nanomaterials loaded with oxytocin were demonstrated to have the capability to anti-inflammatory and penetrate the blood-brain barrier effectively, and they played an anti-inflammatory role via sustained-releasing oxytocin in the brain. Transplantation of mesenchymal stem cells could reduce neuroinflammation and inhibit the activation of microglia. The secretion of mesenchymal stem cells could not only improve neuroinflammation, but also exert a multi-target comprehensive therapeutic effect, making it potentially more suitable for the treatment of AD. Enhancing the level of TREM2 in microglial cells using gene editing technologies, or application of TREM2 antibodies such as Ab-T1, hT2AB could improve microglial cell function and reduce the level of neuroinflammation, which might be a potential treatment for AD. Probiotic therapy, fecal flora transplantation, antibiotic therapy, and dietary intervention could reshape the composition of the gut microbiota and alleviate neuroinflammation through the gut-brain axis. However, the drugs of sodium oligomannose remain controversial. Both exercise intervention and electromagnetic intervention had the potential to attenuate neuroinflammation, thereby delaying AD process. This article focuses on the role of drug therapy, gene therapy, stem cell therapy, gut microbiota therapy, exercise intervention, and brain stimulation in improving neuroinflammation in recent years, aiming to provide a novel insight for the treatment of AD by intervening neuroinflammation in the future.
