Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a leading cause of cancer-associated death globally. Liver transplantation (LT) has emerged as a key treatment for patients with HCC, and the Milan criteria have been adopted as the cornerstone of the selection policy. To allow more patients to benefit from LT, a number of expanded criteria have been proposed, many of which use radiologic morphological characteristics with larger and more tumors as surrogates to predict outcomes. Other groups developed indices incorporating biological variables and dynamic markers of response to locoregional treatment. These expanded selection criteria achieved satisfactory results with limited liver supplies. In addition, a number of prognostic models have been developed using clinicopathological characteristics, imaging radiomics features, genetic data, and advanced techniques such as artificial intelligence. These models could improve prognostic estimation, establish surveillance strategies, and bolster long-term outcomes in patients with HCC. In this study, we reviewed the latest findings and achievements regarding the selection criteria and post-transplant prognostic models for LT in patients with HCC.

An ion chromatography method was developed for detection of nine kinds of trace organic amines(Methylamine,dimethylamine,trimethylamine,ethylamine,diethylamine,triethylamine,n-propylamine,n-butylamine,and ethanolamine)and six kinds of trace water-soluble inorganic cations(Li+,Na+,NH4+,K+,Ca2+,and Mg2+)in atmospheric fine particulate matter(PM2.5)in this wok.Various chromatographic columns(IonPac CS12,IonPac CS17 and IonPac CS19)were compared in terms of their separation efficiency for target analytes, and IonPac CS19 column was ultimately selected.Through meticulous optimization of the column temperature,a low temperature condition of 20℃was found to achieve the highest separation efficiency(All are above 1),effectively separating all 15 kinds of target analytes.Under the optimal analytical conditions inculding methanesulfonic acid(MSA)as eluent,100 μL of injection volume, column temperature at 20℃and eluent at flow rate of 1 mL/min,the detection limits of this method ranged from 0.05 to 7.15 μg/L,the quantification limits were 0.16-23.82 μg/L,and the spiking recoveries were 84%-105%.The proposed method exhibited high accuracy and excellent reproducibility, and was suitable for concurrent analysis and measurement of organic amines and water-soluble inorganic cations in PM2.5.

Objective:To understand the epidemiological characteristics of human respiratory syncytial virus (HRSV) among cases presenting with influenza-like illness (ILI) in Shenzhen City from 2019 to 2023.Methods:Respiratory specimens were collected from two national sentinel hospitals in Shenzhen from March 2019 to December 2023, specifically targeting cases of ILI. The real-time PCR method was used for the detection and genotyping of HRSV. Basic demographic information was collected and used for the epidemiological analysis. Results:A total of 9 278 respiratory specimens of influenza-like cases were collected and detected, with a total positive rate of 4.77% (443/9 278) for HRSV. In 2021 (8.48%, 167/1 970), the positive rate of HRSV was significantly higher than in 2019 (3.35%, 52/1 552), 2022 (1.80%, 39/2 169), and 2023 (4.49%, 133/2 960), and the difference was statistically significant ( χ 2=102.395, P<0.001). The prevalence of HRSV was mainly in summer and early autumn (September), and there was an abnormal increase in the positive rate of HRSV in winter 2022. The highest positive rate of HRSV was in children under five years old (9.84%, 330/335). The typing results showed that in 2022, the prevalence of HRSV-A was predominant (71.79%, 28/39), and in 2023, HRSV-A and HRSV-B subtypes coexisted. Conclusions:The prevalence of HRSV in Shenzhen from 2019 to 2023 has obvious seasonality, mainly in summer and early autumn. Children under five years old are the main population of HRSV infections.

Objective:To investigate the molecular mechanism and distribution characteristics of RhD negative phenotypes in Han population of blood donors in Wuhu city. Methods:A total of 210 RhD-samples from August 2021 to August 2022 were screened by serological test and collected from Wuhu Central Blood Station for the voluntary blood donor population.Exons 1 and 10 of the RHD gene were amplificated by PCR to determine whether the samples had the RHD gene.Exons 1-10 of the RHD gene were amplificated by PCR and zygosity analysis were performed in 82 samples containing D gene, and Sanger sequencing was performed on 55 samples containing all RHD exons to determine the genotype. Results:Among 210 RhD-specimens,128 cases(60.38%)had RHD gene deletion.27 cases had partial exons of RHD,including 2 cases with RHD*DVI.3/RHD*01N.01,24 cases with RHD*01N.04/RHD*01N.01,and 1 case with RHD-CE(2-10)/RHD*01N.01.55 cases had retained all of 10 exons, including 4 cases with RHD*01/RHD*01N.01,6 cases with RHD*15/RHD*01N.01,1 case with RHD*01W.72/RHD*01N.01,1 case with RHD*15/RHD*01EL.01,39 cases with RHD*01EL.01/RHD*01N.01,and the remaining 4 cases were determined to have no RHD gene deletion by zygosity analysis and sequencing showed the presence of 1227G>A mutation loci. Conclusion:There is polymorphism in the molecular mechanism of RhD-D gene in Wuhu blood donor population, among which RHD*01EL.01 and RHD*15 are the main variants in this region. The results of this study provide a theoretical basis for RhD blood group identification and clinical blood transfusion in this region.
