Clinical Endoscopy 2026;59(1):9-20
Endoscopic full-thickness resection (EFTR) is a minimally invasive technique that is increasingly used for gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) originating from the muscularis propria. Despite its advantages over conventional surgery, such as complete tumor resection and faster recovery, EFTR faces challenges related to its efficacy, safety, and feasibility, particularly in gastric GISTs. By summarizing the literature published over the past decade, this review provides a comprehensive overview of the clinical outcomes of EFTR and the evolution of defect closure devices.

Objective Exploring genetic differences among geographic strains of Anopheles sinensis in China. Methods Based on the mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit I(COⅠ )and ribosomal the second internal transcribed spacer(ITS2), genetic distance analyses were conducted on An. sinensis samples collected nationwide. Results Genetic differentiation was observed within An. sinensis geographic strains, primarily reflected in the genetic distances of COⅠ sequences, with some distances between samples exceeding those between closely related species. However, ITS2 sequences showed relatively low levels of differentiation within geographic strains. No significant separation was observed, and gene exchange exhibited a random pattern among geographic strains. Conclusions Significant differences in genetic distance were observed among An. sinensis samples, along with evidence of interspecific continuity among sibling species. For the identification of closely related species using wild-collected Anopheles mosquitoes samples, reliance solely on commonly used barcodes such as COⅠ and ITS2 may be insufficient. Additional molecular markers, including COⅡ and D3 gene fragments, should also be considered. Caution should be exercised when using COⅠ genes to identify cryptic species, especially within Anopheles mosquitoes.

Sesamol is a fat-soluble natural polyphenol compound found in sesame seeds and sesame oil, which is widely used in food.Sesamol can effectively scavenge free radicals in the body, reduce oxidative stress, and protect cells from damage, therefore it plays an important role in the prevention of cardiovas-cular disease, cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. It has been widely studied for its various pharma-cological functions such as antioxidant,antibacterial,anti-inflammatory,neuroprotective,cardioprotec-tive,immunomodulatory and antitumor. In recent years, sesamol,as a safe and non-toxic chemical sub-stance,has received extensive attention in the field of tumor research and is expected to be used as a clinical drug for tumor therapy in the future. In this paper, through the collection and analysis of relevant literature on sesamol at home and abroad,we reviewed the biological functions of sesamol in antioxidant,anti-inflammatory,antibacterial,regulating energy metabolism, cardiovascular protection, and neuropro-tection,etc.as well as its mechanism of action.Furthermore, this review also focused on the role of ses-amol in regulating cellular energy metabolism, inducing apoptosis, blocking the cell cycle, modifying ep-igenetic modifications, promoting cellular autophagy, inhibiting angiogenesis, reducing the tolerance of chemotherapeutic drugs, and so on.In addition, this paper also focused on the anti-tumor effects of sesa-mol by regulating cell energy metabolism, inducing cell apoptosis, modulating epigenetic modification, promoting cell autophagy, inhibiting angiogenesis, and reducing the tolerance of chemotherapeutic drugs, etc. This review aims to provide a new theoretical basis for the development of tumor therapeutic drugs.

Intricate and complex interactions between tumor cells and tumor microenvironment(TME)are essential driving factors in tumor development and metastasis. In recent years, modulation of TME to reverse tumor progression has garnered significant attention as a therapeutic strategy. For precise and targeted tumor treatment, there is an urgent need for accurate and effective TME tar-get molecules and relevant prediction model.Fibronectin,a protein with multiple domains in extracellular matrix(ECM),plays a cru-cial role in physiological and pathological processes.Particularly,Fibronectin extra domain B(FN-EDB)in fibronectin is pivotal in regulating interaction between ECM and cells.During active tissue remodeling processes, especially in angiogenesis,FN-EDB expres-sion tends to increase.Studies have indicated that FN-EDB is involved in regulating various key aspects of tumorigenesis, including promoting tumor cell invasion and metastasis, influencing development of immune evasion mechanisms, enhancing tumor angiogene-sis,and contributing to development of chemoresistance. Therefore, targeting FN-EDB as a potential therapeutic target for cancer treat-ment and developing relevant therapeutic drugs hold significant importance and promising clinical prospects. This article reviews roles of FN-EDB in TME in recent years and research progress on tumor immunotherapy targeting this molecule, with aim of providing new insights and strategies for cancer treatment.
