Background The escalating challenges of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) pollution and global warming pose significant threats to human health. Previous studies have demonstrated that prenatal exposure to PM2.5 and heat is associated with restricted fetal and offspring growth. However, the combined effects of co-exposure to PM2.5 and heat remain poorly understood, and the underlying biological mechanisms have yet to be elucidated. Objective To investigate the independent and combined effects of maternal exposure to PM2.5 and heat on offspring growth and thyroid hormone levels in rats. Methods Eight-week-old SPF Wistar rats were used. Females and males were mated at a 2:1 ratio. After confirming pregnancy, 36 pregnant rats were randomly assigned to four groups: combined PM2.5 and heat exposure, PM2.5 exposure, heat exposure, and control. PM2.5 exposure was administered via intratracheal instillation (0.3 mL, 2 mg·mL−1) daily. Heat exposure was conducted in a programmable constant temperature and humidity chamber maintained at (38.0±1.0)℃ for 1 h daily. Exposures were administered from gestational days (GD) 7 to 13. Offspring were raised for 42 postnatal days (PND), with body weight measured twice weekly at fixed time points. On PND42, blood was collected to separate plasma for the measurement of free triiodothyronine (FT3) and free thyroxine (FT4) levels using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Linear mixed-effects models were used to examine the interactive effects of PM2.5 and heat exposure on offspring body weight and weight gain. One-way analysis of variance was conducted to compare the differences in offspring body weight at each time point and thyroid hormone levels among groups. Correlations between thyroid hormone levels and weight changes were assessed using Spearman's rank correlation analysis. Results Both prenatal PM2.5 exposure alone and its combination with heat exposure were associated with higher offspring body weight at specific postnatal time points. Offspring in the PM2.5 exposure group had higher body weight than controls on PND7 and PND21, while those in the combined exposure group had higher body weight on PND7 and PND21-35 (P<0.05), and this effect was stronger in female offspring. The heat exposure group showed significantly lower birth weight than other groups (P<0.05), but this difference gradually disappeared during development. Plasma FT3 levels were higher in the PM2.5 exposure group than in the heat exposure and the control groups (P<0.05), but this difference was statistically significant only in female offspring. Plasma FT3 levels were positively correlated with body weight from PND7 to PND42, with correlation coefficients of 0.316–0.539 in all offspring (P<0.05) and 0.419–0.706 in females (P<0.05), while no significant correlation was observed in males. Conclusion Prenatal exposure to PM2.5 alone or a combination of PM2.5 and heat may affect postnatal body weight gain in offspring in a time-dependent manner, with more pronounced effects observed in female offspring. Heat exposure alone leads to reduced early-stage weight followed by a trend toward catch-up growth. The findings suggest a specific role of thyroid hormones in the effects of prenatal PM2.5 and heat exposure on offspring growth, a relationship that warrants further investigation.

Pathology rotation is an important part in resident standardization training. Impor-tance should be attached to the residents' learning during the standardization training in Pathology De-partment, such as standardizing training and strict departmental rotation examination, developing the residents' thinking ability of the relationship between clinical and pathology with the main line of spe-cialty pathology learning , and improving clinical research capacity through pathology technical methods and principles, and training pathology literacy from pathology requisition filled to interpreta-tion of the pathology report, which will also help to improve the medical service quality of the hospital.

Objective We invented mammary lump skin-positioning membrane (named scare membrane) to facilitate localization of mammary lump during ultrasound scan. This study is to measure the radius of mammary of Chinese adult women for designing different types of skin-positioning membrane.MethodsThe radius of mammary glands in 236 cases of adult females was detected with color Doppler ultrasound at 5 different clock positions:12:00,3:00,6:00,9:00 and 10:30 or 1:30.SPSS 16.0 statistical software was used to analyze the data. The cut-off values of mammary glands radius at 99%,95%,75% and 50% were calculated.Paired t tests or nonparametric tests (relative sample rank sum tests) were used to verify the consistency of mammary gland radius between left and right sides.ResultsThe cut-off value of 95% mammary gland radius was:7.700cm at 12:00,7.810 cm at 13:00,8.100 cm at 3:00,5.330 cm at 6:00 and 6.300 cm at 9:00 for left mammary gland ; 7.500 cm at 12:00,6.015 cm at 3:00,5.500 cm at 6:00,8.510 cm at 9:00 and 7.930 cm at 10:30 for right mammary gland. In comparison of left and right mammary gland radius, the difference had statistical significance between the group of left side at 1:30 and right side at 10:30,the group of left side at 3:00 and right side at 9:00(P <0.05).The right mamma was relatively larger. The cut-off values of the right mamma at the above two clock points were taken as radius of scale membranes while the average of percentage cut-off values at 12:00,3:00 of both mammas, left side at 9:00 and right side at 3:00 are taken as radius of scale membranes.ConclusionsAccording to the cut-off values of 99%,95%,75% and 50% radius of adult female mammary glands, mammary lump skin-positioning membrane radius can be classified into 4 size-types:extra large, large, medium and small. The precise classification of radius of mammary scale membranes according to mammary glands of adult females provides convenience for production, manufacture and clinical application of mammary lump skin-positioning membrane.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the efficacy and safety of tirofiban in treatment of ST segment elevation acute myocardial infarction(STEAMI) no-reflow and acute thrombosis after emergency percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI). MethodsForty patients which were made definite diagnosis of STEAMI were intra-coronary artary injection fortirofiban after emergency PCI stenting occured no-reflow and acute thrombosis. First, the dose of 0.4μg·kg-1·min-1 was given from intra--coronary artary injection of tirofiban within three minutes, after 30min the dose were given 0.1μg·kg-1·min-1 for 48 hours. ResultsThe no re-flow and acute thrombosis was completely disappeared within five minutes,at the time, side effect with in one week was not observed. ConclusionsTirofiban treatment by direct injection in coronary arteries combined with emergency PCI, can increase the repeffusion rate of infarction related vessel in AMI patients, and improve TIMI reflow. This reperfusion method was effective and safe.
