Journal of Public Health and Preventive Medicine 2026;37(5):179-182
Objective Exploring the relationship between the cognitive function level of elderly patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) and malnutrition. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 456 patients with PD admitted to the hospital between April 2021 and April 2025. The nutritional status and cognitive function of patients were evaluated by Mini Nutrition Assessment Short Form (MNA-SF) and Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). Pearson correlation analysis explored the correlation between MNA-SF score and MoCA total score. Based on the occurrence status of cognitive dysfunction, the patients were classified into cognitive dysfunction group (264 cases) and normal cognitive function group (192 cases). Multivariate logistic regression was utilized to analyze the independent relevant factors of cognitive dysfunction. Results Among the 413 PD patients in this study, the MNA-SF score and total MoCA score were (9.35±2.16) points and (25.26±2.34) points. Pearson correlation analysis indicated that MNA-SF score was positively associated with MoCA total score (r=0.615, P<0.001). Compared with patients in the normal cognitive function group, the patients in the cognitive dysfunction group were older, had shorter years of education, longer PD course, higher proportion of cerebrovascular lesion and lower MNA-SF score (P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis revealed that age, PD course, cerebrovascular lesion and decreased MNA-SF score were independent relevant factors of cognitive dysfunction in elderly PD patients (P<0.05). Conclusion Malnutrition in elderly patients with Parkinson's disease is significantly associated with cognitive impairment, and as an independent factor, it can increase the risk of cognitive dysfunction in these patients.

Objective To analyze the prevalence status of cardiometabolic risk factor (CMRF) and its aggregation among workers engaged in new forms of employment. Methods A total of 5 429 new employment workers (including couriers, online food delivery workers, and ride hailing drivers) who underwent health medical examinations at a tertiary hospital in Beijing City were selected as the research subjects using the judgment sampling method. Data on waist circumference, blood pressure, blood glucose, and blood lipid levels were collected to analyze their CMRF [central obesity, elevated blood pressure, elevated blood glucose, elevated triglycerides, and reduced high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C)] and their aggregation (with ≥ 2 of the above 5 risk factors) status. Results The detection rates of central obesity, elevated blood pressure, elevated blood glucose, elevated triglycerides, and reduced HDL-C were 61.2%, 38.2%, 29.5%, 40.9% and 22.6%, respectively. The detection rates of CMRF aggregation was 57.8%. The result of multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that male, age ≥45 years, smoking, overweight, and obesity were risk factors for CMRF aggregation (all P<0.05). Conclusion The detection rate of CMRF and its aggregation among workers with new forms of employment in Beijing City is relatively high. Targeted prevention and control efforts should be strengthened for high-risk populations, especially males, workers aged ≥45 years, smokers, and those who are overweight or obese.

BACKGROUND:
The FAVOR (Comparison of Quantitative Flow Ratio Guided and Angiography Guided Percutaneous Intervention in Patients with Coronary Artery Disease) III China trial demonstrated that percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) lesion selection using quantitative flow ratio (QFR) measurement, a novel angiography-based approach for estimating fractional flow reserve, improved two-year clinical outcomes compared with standard angiography guidance. This study aimed to assess the cost-effectiveness of QFR-guided PCI from the perspective of the current Chinese healthcare system.
METHODS:
This study is a pre-specified analysis of the FAVOR III China trial, which included 3825 patients randomized between December 25, 2018, and January 19, 2020, from 26 centers in China. Patients with stable or unstable angina pectoris or those ≥72 hours post-myocardial infarction who had at least one lesion with a diameter stenosis between 50% and 90% in a coronary artery with a ≥2.5 mm reference vessel diameter by visual assessment were randomized to a QFR-guided strategy or an angiography-guided strategy with 1:1 ratio. During the two-year follow-up, data were collected on clinical outcomes, quality-adjusted life-years (QALYs), estimated costs of index procedure hospitalization, outpatient cardiovascular medication use, and rehospitalization due to major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events (MACCE). The primary analysis calculated the incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER) as the cost per MACCE avoided. An ICER of ¥10,000/MACCE event avoided was considered economically attractive in China.
RESULTS:
At two years, the QFR-guided group demonstrated a reduced rate of MACCE compared to the angiography-guided group (10.8% vs . 14.7%, P <0.01). Total two-year costs were similar between the groups (¥50,803 ± 21,121 vs . ¥50,685 ± 23,495, P = 0.87). The ICER for the QFR-guided strategy was ¥3055 per MACCE avoided, and the probability of QFR being economically attractive was 64% at a willingness-to-pay threshold of ¥10,000/MACCE avoided. Sensitivity analysis showed that QFR-guided PCI would become cost-saving if the cost of QFR were below ¥3682 (current cost: ¥3800). Cost-utility analysis yielded an ICER of ¥56,163 per QALY gained, with a 53% probability of being cost-effective at a willingness-to-pay threshold of ¥85,000 per QALY gained.
CONCLUSION:
In patients undergoing PCI, a QFR-guided strategy appears economically attractive compared to angiographic guidance from the perspective of the Chinese healthcare system.

Aging is an inevitable, physiological process of the human body, leading to deterioration in bodily function and increased susceptibility to various diseases. Effective endogenous therapeutic strategies for anti-aging and related diseases remain limited. Exercise confers multifaceted benefits to physical health by augmenting osteogenic and myogenic processes, enhancing cardiovascular and nervous system function, and attenuating chronic inflammation. Angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis play pivotal roles in anti-aging, tissue repair, and immune response modulation, underscoring their potential as therapeutic targets for age-related diseases. Modulating angiogenic and lymphangiogenic pathways may provide a promising strategy for mitigating vascular decline and immune system dysfunction associated with aging. Exercise-induced endogenous angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis can exert beneficial effects on physiological function, thereby representing a potential therapeutic paradigm for combating age-related decline and diseases. This review offers a thorough summary of the present knowledge regarding angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis induced by exercise, encompassing the underlying mechanisms and the effects in different organs. In addition, it explores the potential of physical activity as a non-pharmacological intervention for anti-aging strategies and disease management, offering novel insights into the intersection of physical activity, aging, and disease progression.

Chinese Journal of Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Diseases 2025;43(4):288-293
Objective:To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of comorbidity of post-traumatic stress disorder and depression symptoms among active firefighters, and explore its influencing factors. Methods:In November 2021, a cross-sectional study was conducted using a combination of convenience sampling and cluster sampling. Active firefighters were selected as the research subjects for a questionnaire survey. 1100 questionnaires were distributed, 1032 were collected, and 1021 were valid, with an effective response rate of 98.93%. The PTSD prevalence and characteristics of firefighters were assessed by using the PTSD Checklist Civilian Version (PCL-C) . The degree of depression was assessed by the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) . The coping style was assessed by the Trait Coping Style Questionnaire, and the Social Support Rate Scale was used to investigate the degree of social support. Combined with the general information, the influencing factors of comorbidity of PTSD and symptoms of depression in firefighters were analyzed with binary logistic regression based on single factor analysis. Results:Among 1021 firefighters, 379 had a PHQ-9 score of ≥5, and the prevalence rate of depression was 37.1% (379/1 021) . The prevalence rate of PTSD is 4.6% for 47 individuals with a total PCL-C score of ≥38, and the comorbidity rate of depressive symptoms among PTSD patients is 100%. Logistic regression analysis showed that injuries in the past six months, average/poor self-rated health status, and negative coping were all promoting factors for both the simple depression symptom group and the comorbidity group, while social support was the hindering factor ( P<0.05) . Two sets of OR values show that negative coping and social support have roughly the same degree of impact in both groups. The OR (95% CI) values of the two factors of being injured in the past six months and self-rated as average/poor health status have significantly increased in the comorbidity group. The OR (95% CI) values of being injured in the past six months has increased from 2.20 (1.24, 3.93) in the simple depression symptom group to 3.44 (1.30, 9.09) in the comorbidity group, and that of the self-rated as average and poor health status has increased from 4.91 (3.01, 8.00) to 6.56 (1.97, 21.87) and from 7.96 (2.25, 28.25) to 19.17 (4.75, 77.31) separately ( P<0.05) . Conclusion:The results indicate that firefighters with PTSD generally have comorbidity with depressive symptoms. The common influencing factor of being injured in the past six months is consistent with the pattern of PTSD symptoms triggered by depressive symptoms.

Objective:
To investigate the trends in incidence and mortality of esophageal cancer in cancer registration areas of Anhui Province from 2014 to 2020, so as to provide the basis for formulating prevention and control measures.
Methods:
The incidence and mortality data of esophageal cancer in Anhui Province from 2014 to 2020 was collected through the Cancer Registry in Anhui Province. The crude incidence and crude mortality were calculated. The Chinese population-standardized rate was standardized using the age structure of the standard population from the Fifth National Population Census in 2000. The trends in incidence and mortality of esophageal cancer were analyzed using the average annual percent change (APPC), stratified by genders, urban/rural areas, and ages.
Results:
In Anhui Province, the rank of esophageal cancer incidence dropped from the third in 2014 to the sixth in 2020. Concurrently, the crude incidence and Chinese population-standardized incidence declined from 28.74/100 000 and 20.74/100 000 to 19.23/100 000 and 10.59/100 000, respectively (AAPC=-5.846%, -9.658%, both P<0.05). The mortality rank remained stable at the fourth in 2014 and 2020, while the crude mortality and Chinese population-standardized mortality decreased from 19.96/100 000 and 14.09/100 000 to 16.00/100 000 and 8.41/100 000, respectively (AAPC=-3.542%, -7.784%, both P<0.05). The Chinese population-standardized incidence (AAPC=-9.682%, -9.188%, -6.175% and -12.575%, all P<0.05) and Chinese population-standardized mortality (AAPC=-7.734%. -7.447%. -5.366% and -10.209%, all P<0.05) showed declining trends in males, females, urban, and rural areas, respectively. From 2014 to 2020 in Anhui Province, the crude incidence and mortality of esophageal cancer generally increased with age. However, significant declining trends were observed in crude incidence (AAPC=-12.779%, -11.701%, -11.955% and -5.751%, all P<0.05) and crude mortality (AAPC=-12.255%, -11.120%, -10.985% and -5.751%, all P<0.05) for the age groups of 40-<50, 50-<60, 60-<70, 70-<80 years. A significant declining trend in crude incidence was also seen in the ≥80 years group (APPC=-6.334%, P<0.05), but the trend in crude mortality was no statistically significant (P>0.05).
Conclusion
In registration areas of Anhui Province, the incidence and mortality of esophageal cancer exhibited a declining trend from 2014 to 2020, calling for focused attention on the middle-aged and elderly population and enhanced health behaviors such as tobacco and alcohol control.

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is a well-accepted therapy for atopic dermatitis (AD). However, there are currently no evidence-based guidelines integrating TCM and Western medicine for the treatment of AD, limiting the clinical application of such combined approaches. Therefore, the China Association of Chinese Medicine initiated the development of the current guideline, focusing on key issues related to the use of TCM in the treatment of AD. This guideline was developed in accordance with the principles of the guideline formulation manual published by the World Health Organization. A comprehensive review of the literature on the combined use of TCM and Western medicine to treat AD was conducted. The findings were extensively discussed by experts in dermatology and pharmacy with expertise in both TCM and Western medicine. This guideline comprises 23 recommendations across seven major areas, including TCM syndrome differentiation and classification of AD, principles and application scenarios of TCM combined with Western medicine for treating AD, outcome indicators for evaluating clinical efficacy of AD treatment, integration of TCM pattern classification and Western medicine across disease stages, daily management of AD, the use of internal TCM therapies and proprietary Chinese medicines, and TCM external treatments.
