To evaluate the design and implementation effects of the "Rapid Recognition and Management of Critically Ill Patients" course, and to provide a reference for the improvement of situational simulation teaching in emergency and critical care settings. All medical staff who participated in thiscourse training in June 2025 were enrolled as study subjects. The course adopted a blended teaching method combining online theoretical selfstudy with offline situational simulation. Multi-dimensional evaluation was conducted through theoretical assessments, skill assessments, and satisfaction surveys regarding the course and instructors. A total of 142 trainees were enrolled, including 103 clinical postdoctoral fellows (72.5%), 24 standardized training nurses (16.9%), and 15 standardized training resident physicians (10.6%). The mean theoretical examination score was 93.27±6.95, with statistically significant differences among different trainee categories (η2=0.346, 95% CI: 0.241-1.000, The course achieved preliminary and favorable training outcomes. Theoretical examination scores, skill assessment scores, and course evaluation ratings were mutually independent, reflecting distinct dimensions of competence and learning experience. It is recommended that theoretical and skill assessments be set as independent passing thresholds, and that targeted training be strengthened in the areas of arrhythmia recognition and ventricular fibrillation management.

China Pharmacy 2026;37(19):2560-2565
OBJECTIVE To improve the clinical recognition and management of oxaliplatin-induced hepatic sinusoidal obstruction syndrome (HSOS).METHODS A systematic search was conducted in PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, CNKI, VIP, and Wanfang Medical Database to collect cases of oxaliplatin-induced HSOS. Typical cases admitted to the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University (hereinafter referred to as “our hospital”) were also included. The clinical characteristics, laboratory findings, imaging manifestations, treatment, and prognosis of oxaliplatin-induced HSOS were systematically analyzed, and subgroup analyses were performed according to chemotherapy regimen and patient sex.RESULTS A total of 32 cases of oxaliplatin-induced HSOS were collected (31 from the literature and 1 from our hospital). Among them, there were 16 males and 16 females, with a median age of 58.5 years and a median time to onset of 168 days. The most common laboratory abnormality was elevated alkaline phosphatase (ALP)/ γ -glutamyl transferase (GGT) (accounting for 69.2% of reported cases, 9/13), and some patients had elevated transaminases and thrombocytopenia. Imaging findings included splenomegaly (37.5%, 12/32), intrahepatic hypodense lesions (28.1%, 9/32), signs of portal hypertension (21.9%, 7/32), etc. Treatment mainly consisted of discontinuation of oxaliplatin, supplemented with symptomatic supportive treatment or liver resection. The overall improvement rate of patients was 84.0% (21/25). Subgroup analysis showed that among patients receiving the FOLFOX regimen, 36.8% developed symptoms within 168 days, which was significantly lower than the proportion of patients receiving other regimens (83.3%) ( P <0.012 5).CONCLUSIONS Oxaliplatin-induced HSOS often presents with elevated ALP/GGT and splenomegaly. Hypodense lesions on imaging are a key point in differential diagnosis. Most patients improve after discontinuation of oxaliplatin and symptomatic supportive treatment. Clinically, emphasis should be placed on early recognition of this complication and close monitoring of liver function and imaging changes.

BACKGROUND:There is still no consensus on the optimal internal fixation for the treatment of Pauwels Ⅲ femoral neck fracture, and most of the related finite element analyses have been performed using a single simplified loading condition, and the biomechanical properties of commonly used internal fixation devices need to be further investigated. OBJECTIVE:To analyze the biomechanical characteristics of Pauwels Ⅲ femoral neck fractures treated with cannulated compression screw, dynamic hip screw, and femoral neck system by finite element method under different loading conditions of single-leg standing loads and sideways fall loads. METHODS:The DICOM data of healthy adult femur were obtained by CT scanning, imported into Mimics 15.0 software to obtain the rough model of bone tissue. The data exported from Mimics were optimized by Geomagics software, and then three internal fixation models were built and assembled with the femur model according to the parameters of the clinical application of the cannulated compression screw, dynamic hip screw, and femoral neck system by using Pro/E software. Finally, the three internal fixation models were imported into Ansys software for loading and calculation to analyze the stress distribution and displacement of the femur and the internal fixation under different working conditions of single-leg standing loads and sideways fall loads,as well as the stress characteristics of the calcar femorale and Ward's triangle. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)Under the single-leg standing load and the sideways fall load, the proximal femoral stress of the three internal fixation models was mainly distributed above the fracture end of the femoral neck. The peak stress of the proximal femoral end, fracture end,Ward triangle, and calcar femorale of the three internal fixation models were the smallest in the femoral neck system model and the largest in the cannulated compression screw model.(2)Under the single-leg standing load and the sideways fall load, the peak displacement of the proximal femur of the three internal fixation models was all located at the top of the femoral head, and the peak displacement was the smallest in the femoral neck system model and the largest in the cannulated compression screw model.(3)The peak displacement of the three internal fixation models was all located at the top of the internal fixation device under the single-leg standing and sideways fall loading conditions, and the peak displacement values were the smallest in the femoral neck system internal fixation model and the largest in the cannulated compression screw internal fixation model.(4)The internal fixation stress of the three internal fixation models was mainly distributed in the area near the fracture end of the internal fixation device under the single-leg standing and sideways fall loads, and the peak value of internal fixation stress was the smallest in the femoral neck system model and the largest in the cannulated compression screw model.(5)These results suggest that the mechanical stability of the femoral neck system is the best, but there may be a risk of stress shielding of the fracture end and calcar femorale. The stress of the internal fixation device of the femoral neck system is more dispersed, and the risk of internal fixation break is lower.

Objective To analyze the prevalence status of cardiometabolic risk factor (CMRF) and its aggregation among workers engaged in new forms of employment. Methods A total of 5 429 new employment workers (including couriers, online food delivery workers, and ride hailing drivers) who underwent health medical examinations at a tertiary hospital in Beijing City were selected as the research subjects using the judgment sampling method. Data on waist circumference, blood pressure, blood glucose, and blood lipid levels were collected to analyze their CMRF [central obesity, elevated blood pressure, elevated blood glucose, elevated triglycerides, and reduced high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C)] and their aggregation (with ≥ 2 of the above 5 risk factors) status. Results The detection rates of central obesity, elevated blood pressure, elevated blood glucose, elevated triglycerides, and reduced HDL-C were 61.2%, 38.2%, 29.5%, 40.9% and 22.6%, respectively. The detection rates of CMRF aggregation was 57.8%. The result of multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that male, age ≥45 years, smoking, overweight, and obesity were risk factors for CMRF aggregation (all P<0.05). Conclusion The detection rate of CMRF and its aggregation among workers with new forms of employment in Beijing City is relatively high. Targeted prevention and control efforts should be strengthened for high-risk populations, especially males, workers aged ≥45 years, smokers, and those who are overweight or obese.

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is a well-accepted therapy for atopic dermatitis (AD). However, there are currently no evidence-based guidelines integrating TCM and Western medicine for the treatment of AD, limiting the clinical application of such combined approaches. Therefore, the China Association of Chinese Medicine initiated the development of the current guideline, focusing on key issues related to the use of TCM in the treatment of AD. This guideline was developed in accordance with the principles of the guideline formulation manual published by the World Health Organization. A comprehensive review of the literature on the combined use of TCM and Western medicine to treat AD was conducted. The findings were extensively discussed by experts in dermatology and pharmacy with expertise in both TCM and Western medicine. This guideline comprises 23 recommendations across seven major areas, including TCM syndrome differentiation and classification of AD, principles and application scenarios of TCM combined with Western medicine for treating AD, outcome indicators for evaluating clinical efficacy of AD treatment, integration of TCM pattern classification and Western medicine across disease stages, daily management of AD, the use of internal TCM therapies and proprietary Chinese medicines, and TCM external treatments. Objective: This cross-sectional investigation aimed to determine the incidence, clinical characteristics, prognosis, and related risk factors of olfactory and gustatory dysfunctions related to infection with the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron strain in mainland China. Methods: Data of patients with SARS-CoV-2 from December 28, 2022, to February 21, 2023, were collected through online and offline questionnaires from 45 tertiary hospitals and one center for disease control and prevention in mainland China. The questionnaire included demographic information, previous health history, smoking and alcohol drinking, SARS-CoV-2 vaccination, olfactory and gustatory function before and after infection, other symptoms after infection, as well as the duration and improvement of olfactory and gustatory dysfunction. The self-reported olfactory and gustatory functions of patients were evaluated using the Olfactory VAS scale and Gustatory VAS scale. Results: A total of 35 566 valid questionnaires were obtained, revealing a high incidence of olfactory and taste dysfunctions related to infection with the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron strain (67.75%). Females(χ2=367.013, P<0.001) and young people(χ2=120.210, P<0.001) were more likely to develop these dysfunctions. Gender(OR=1.564, 95%CI: 1.487-1.645), SARS-CoV-2 vaccination status (OR=1.334, 95%CI: 1.164-1.530), oral health status (OR=0.881, 95%CI: 0.839-0.926), smoking history (OR=1.152, 95%CI=1.080-1.229), and drinking history (OR=0.854, 95%CI: 0.785-0.928) were correlated with the occurrence of olfactory and taste dysfunctions related to SARS-CoV-2(above P<0.001). 44.62% (4 391/9 840) of the patients who had not recovered their sense of smell and taste also suffered from nasal congestion, runny nose, and 32.62% (3 210/9 840) suffered from dry mouth and sore throat. The improvement of olfactory and taste functions was correlated with the persistence of accompanying symptoms(χ2=10.873, P=0.001). The average score of olfactory and taste VAS scale was 8.41 and 8.51 respectively before SARS-CoV-2 infection, but decreased to3.69 and 4.29 respectively after SARS-CoV-2 infection, and recovered to 5.83and 6.55 respectively at the time of the survey. The median duration of olfactory and gustatory dysfunctions was 15 days and 12 days, respectively, with 0.5% (121/24 096) of patients experiencing these dysfunctions for more than 28 days. The overall self-reported improvement rate of smell and taste dysfunctions was 59.16% (14 256/24 096). Gender(OR=0.893, 95%CI: 0.839-0.951), SARS-CoV-2 vaccination status (OR=1.334, 95%CI: 1.164-1.530), history of head and facial trauma(OR=1.180, 95%CI: 1.036-1.344, P=0.013), nose (OR=1.104, 95%CI: 1.042-1.171, P=0.001) and oral (OR=1.162, 95%CI: 1.096-1.233) health status, smoking history(OR=0.765, 95%CI: 0.709-0.825), and the persistence of accompanying symptoms (OR=0.359, 95%CI: 0.332-0.388) were correlated with the recovery of olfactory and taste dysfunctions related to SARS-CoV-2 (above P<0.001 except for the indicated values). Conclusion: The incidence of olfactory and taste dysfunctions related to infection with the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron strain is high in mainland China, with females and young people more likely to develop these dysfunctions. Active and effective intervention measures may be required for cases that persist for a long time. The recovery of olfactory and taste functions is influenced by several factors, including gender, SARS-CoV-2 vaccination status, history of head and facial trauma, nasal and oral health status, smoking history, and persistence of accompanying symptoms.

Asian Journal of Andrology 2022;24(2):171-175
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) secrete various cytokines with angiogenic and neuroprotective effects. This study aimed to assess the effects of human umbilical cord Wharton's jelly-derived MSCs (hWJ-MSCs) on diabetes-related intracavernosal pressure (ICP) impairment in rats. hWJ-MSCs were isolated from human umbilical cord Wharton's jelly and transplanted into the corpus cavernosum of streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats by unilateral injection. The erectile function was evaluated at 4 weeks, as well as the expression levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS), and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF1). STZ-induced diabetic rats showed impaired ICP, which was significantly improved by hWJ-MSC treatment. VEGF, eNOS, IGF1, and bFGF expression levels were higher in hWJ-MSC injection sites than those in control ones in STZ-induced diabetic rats. These results suggest that hWJ-MSC transplantation might improve diabetic erectile dysfunction through increased production of paracrine growth factors, highlighting a novel potential therapeutic option for erectile dysfunction.
