Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) is the pillar for the development of motherland medicine, and animal medicine has a long history of application in China, characterized by wide resources, strong activity, definite efficacy, and great benefits. It has significant potential and important status in the consumption market of raw materials of TCM. In the context of global climate change, farming system alterations, and low renewability, the depletion of wild medicinal animal resources has accelerated. Accordingly, the conservation and sustainable utilization of wild resources of animal medicinal materials has become a problem that garners increasing attention and urgently needs to be solved. This paper summarizes the current situation of domestic and foreign medicinal animal breeding and research progress in industrial application in recent years and points out the issues related to standardized breeding, germplasm selection and breeding, and quality evaluation standards for medicinal animals. Furthermore, this paper discusses standardized breeding, quality standards, resource protection and utilization, and the search for alternative resources for rare and endangered medicinal animals. It proposes that researchers should systematically carry out in-depth basic research on animal medicine, improve the breeding scale and level of medicinal animals, employ modern technology to enhance the quality standards of medicinal materials, and strengthen the research and development of alternative resources. This approach aims to effectively address the relationship between protection and utilization and make a significant contribution to the sustainable development of medicinal animal resources and the animal-based Chinese medicinal material industry.

Forensic medicine has been designated as a first-level discipline,presenting new opportunities and challenges for the development of forensic medicine.Since the 1980s,the establishment of foren-sic medicine discipline and the cultivation of high-level forensic talents have become hot topics in the development of forensic medicine in China.Since the 13th Five-Year Plan,the forensic team of Shanxi Medical University has been aiming at the forefront,proposing the development goals of"Five First-class"and the discipline development path"Six Major Achievements".It has selected benchmark disci-plines,identified gaps in disciplinary development,unified thoughts,formulated completion timelines,concentrated superior resources,assigned tasks to individuals,and created an"Organized Fill-in-the-Blank Format"forensic medicine discipline construction model with the characteristics of the new era.The construction model of forensic medicine has achieved good results in the goals,discipline frame-work,scientific research,talent cultivation,discipline team and platform construction,forming a rela-tively complete discipline construction and management system,and accumulating valuable experience for the construction of first-level discipline and high-level talent cultivation of forensic medicine.

Di-(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate(DEHP)is an environmental pollutant commonly found in plastic products and has toxic effects on female reproductive system.DEHP can interfere with the synthesis of progesterone,testosterone and estradiol through female hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis,aggravate insulin resistance and obesity by affecting glucose and lipid metabolism,and cause ovarian damage through inducing oxidative stress,excessive autophagy and pyroptosis of oocyte or granulosa cells.It can also alter epigenetic genes relating to follicular development and prevent follicles from mature.These factors are closely contribute to the pathogenesis of polycystic ovary syndrome.We systematically summarizes the mechanism of DEHP interfering with ovarian function and inducing polycystic ovary syndrome,in order to provide help for the prevention and treatment of female reproductive injury from environmental pollutant.

Objective:To explore the potential action mechanism of Huotu Jiji Pellets(HJP)in the treatment of erectile dys-function(ED)based on network pharmacology and molecular docking.Methods:We identified the main effective compounds and active molecular targets of HJP from the database of Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology(TCMSP)and Integrative Pharmacology-Based Research Platform of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCMIP)and the therapeutic target genes of ED from the data-bases of Genecards.Then we obtained the common targets of HJP and ED using the Venny software,constructed a protein-protein in-teraction(PPI)network of HJP acting on ED,and screened out the core targets with the Cytoscape software.Lastly we performed GO functional enrichment and KEGG pathway enrichment analyses of the core targets followed by molecular docking of HJP and the core targets using Chem3D and AutoDock Tools and QuickVina-W software.Results:A total of 64 effective compounds,822 drug-related targets,1 783 disease-related targets and 320 common targets were obtained in this study.PPI network analysis showed that the core targets of HJP for ED included ESR1,HSP90AA1,SRC,and STAT3.GO functional enrichment analysis indicated the involvement of the core targets in such biological processes as response to xenobiotic stimulus,positive regulation of kinase activity,and positive regu-lation of MAPK cascade.KEGG pathway enrichment analysis suggested that PI3K-Akt,apoptosis,MAPK,HIF-1,VEGF,autophagy and other signaling pathways may be related to the mechanism of HJP acting on ED.Molecular docking prediction exhibited a good doc-king activity of the key active molecules of HJP with the core targets.Conclusion:This study showed that HJP acted on ED through multi-components,multi-targets and multi-pathways,which has provided some evidence and reference for the clinical treatment and subsequent studies of the disease.

AIM To investigate the effects of tectorigenin on preadipocyte differentiation and the possible mechanism.METHODS CCK8 method was used to detect the effects of tectorigenin on 3T3-L1 cell viability.After 2 days contact inhibition(Day 0 of differentiation),the cells were exposed to inducer and tectorigenin of different concentrations(0,10,20,40,60 μmol/L),in contrast to those of the control group with no inducer use.On the 9th day of differentiation,the cells had their lipid droplets observed by oil red O staining;their levels of TG and NEFA detected by biochemical kit;their protein expressions of PPARγ,C/EBPα,perilipin-1,ADFP,AMPKα and p-AMPKα detected by Western blot;and their mRNA expressions of Adiponectin,FABP4,FAS and Acly detected by RT-qPCR.RESULTS Tectorigenin concentration of 60 μmol/L or lower levels left no impact upon the cell viability(P＞0.05).Compared with the model group with induced differentiation,the groups intervened with tectorigenin administration displayed decreased formation of lipid droplets;lower levels of TG and NEFA(P＜0.01);decreased protein expressions of C/EBPα,PPAR γ,perilipin-1 and ADFP(P＜0.01);increased protein expressions of AMPKα and p-AMPKα(P＜0.01);and decreased mRNA expressions of Adiponectin,FABP4,FAS and Acly(P＜0.01).CONCLUSION Tectorigenin inhibits preadipocyte differentiation into mature adipocytes,which may be related to its efficacy in the regulation of C/EBPα,PPARγ,AMPKα and p-AMPKα.

Objective To explore the clinical characteristics and treatment scheme of patients with spinal infection caused by Prevotella intermedia(P.intermedia).Methods Clinical diagnosis and treatment processes of a patient with spinal infection caused by P.intermedia admitted to the spinal surgery department of a hospital were summa-rized,and relevant literature was retrieved from database for reviewing.Results The patient,a 50 year old male,was admitted to the hospital due to"lumbago pain complicated with pain in double lower extremities for 2 months".The lesion tissue was taken for metagenomic next-generation sequencing(mNGS)detection,which detected P.in-termedia,and the patient was diagnosed with P.intermedia spondylitis.After treatments with open lesion clea-rance,tube rinsing+autologous bone transplantation fusion internal fixation,intravenous drip of ceftriaxone sodium and metronidazole,as well as metronidazole rinsing,infection was under control.A total of 16 available papers were retrieved,together with this case,a total of 17 patients were included,with 7 males and 10 females.The main risk factors were diabetes and history of corticosteroid use(35.3％).The most common invasion sites were lumbar ver-tebra(n=12)and thoracic vertebra(n=6).13 cases were positive for pathogen culture,3 cases were positive for molecular detection,and 1 case was positive for staining microscopy.17 patients received anti-anaerobic bacteria treatment,with 14 cases receiving combined surgical treatment.One case died,with a mortality of 5.9％;5 cases had partial neurological impairment,with a disability rate of 29.4％.The survival rate of patients who received treatment of anti-anaerobic bacteria combined with surgery was 92.8％,3 patients only with anti-anaerobic bacteria treatment but without surgery were all cured.Conclusion P.intermedia is an opportunistic pathogeanic bacteria which often causes infection in immunocomprised individuals and is prone to be misdiagnosed.It is recommended to perform mNGS detection to identify the pathogen as early as possible and seize the opportunity for treatment to reduce mortality.

Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of recombinant human anti-severe acute respiratory syn-drome coronavirus 2(anti-SARS-CoV-2)monoclonal antibody injection(F61 injection)in the treatment of patients with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)combined with renal damage.Methods Patients with COVID-19 and renal damage who visited the PLA General Hospital from January to February 2023 were selected.Subjects were randomly divided into two groups.Control group was treated with conventional anti-COVID-19 therapy,while trial group was treated with conventional anti-COVID-19 therapy combined with F61 injection.A 15-day follow-up was conducted after drug administration.Clinical symptoms,laboratory tests,electrocardiogram,and chest CT of pa-tients were performed to analyze the efficacy and safety of F61 injection.Results Twelve subjects(7 in trial group and 5 in control group)were included in study.Neither group had any clinical progression or death cases.The ave-rage time for negative conversion of nucleic acid of SARS-CoV-2 in control group and trial group were 3.2 days and 1.57 days(P=0.046),respectively.The scores of COVID-19 related target symptom in the trial group on the 3rd and 5th day after medication were both lower than those of the control group(both P＜0.05).According to the clinical staging and World Health Organization 10-point graded disease progression scale,both groups of subjects improved but didn't show statistical differences(P＞0.05).For safety,trial group didn't present any infusion-re-lated adverse event.Subjects in both groups demonstrated varying degrees of elevated blood glucose,elevated urine glucose,elevated urobilinogen,positive urine casts,and cardiac arrhythmia,but the differences were not statistica-lly significant(all P＞0.05).Conclusion F61 injection has initially demonstrated safety and clinical benefit in trea-ting patients with COVID-19 combined with renal damage.As the domestically produced drug,it has good clinical accessibility and may provide more options for clinical practice.

Objective:To explore the changes of oxidative stress(OS),DNA damage and the occurrence of cellular premature aging of human immortalized keratinocytes(HaCaT)after that was radiated by X-ray with different doses.Methods:HaCaT cells were radiated by X-ray,and they were divided into 0 Gy group,5 Gy group and 10 Gy group according to the irradiation dose.The levels of intracellular reactive oxygen species(ROS)were detected by 2,7-Dichlorofluorescein diacetate(DCFH-DA)fluorescent probe,and the intracellular content of malondialdehyde(MDA)of lipid peroxidation products and the activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD)were measured by colorimetry.Immunofluorescence staining was used to detect the phosphorylated histone 2A variant(γ-H2AX)in HaCaT cells that were radiated by X-ray with different doses.Cell count kit-8(CCK-8)was used to detect the effect of X-ray with different doses on the proliferation of HaCaT cells after X-ray with different doses radiated them.β-Galactosidase staining was used to detect the proportion of premature aging cells.The changes of p21 and p53 protein expressions after X-ray irradiation were detected by Western blot.Results:After HaCaT cells were radiated by X-ray for 24h,the fluorescence intensity of 2',7'-Dichlorofluorescein(DCF)in 5 Gy and 10 Gy groups were significantly higher than that in the 0 Gy group,and the MDA contents of them were significantly higher than that in the control group,and the SOD activities of them were significantly lower than that in the control group(F=38.35,92.22,5.22,P<0.05),respectively.The change of γ-H2AX focus showed a dose-dependent significant increase at 1 h after irradiation,and the difference between them and control group was statistically significant(F=129.3,P<0.05).At 6h,24h and 48h after X-ray radiated HaCaT cells,the cell proliferation abilities of 5 Gy group and 10 Gy group were significantly decreased than that of 0 Gy group(F=116.41,62.20,34.29,P<0.01),and the β-Galactosidase activity of the two groups were significantly increased than that of 0 Gy group,and the difference was significant(F=1629.22,P<0.01).At 72h after X-ray with different doses radiated HaCaT cells,the expression levels of p21 and p53 proteins of 5 Gy group and 10 Gy group increased,and the differences of them among three groups were significant(F=104.4,66.69,P<0.01),respectively.Conclusion:Ionizing radiation can induce the occurrences of oxidative stress and DNA damage in HaCaT cells,and cause the occurrence of cellular premature aging.

Objective To investigate the distribution patterns of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)constitution in 959 patients with endometriosis(EMs).Methods From January 2019 to November 2019,959 EMs patients were selected from Guang'anmen Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences,Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University,Beijing Hospital,Dongfang Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine,Beijing Friendship Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University,and Fuxing Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University.The general clinical information of the patients was recorded and then the TCM constitution was identified.After that,the correlation of TCM constitution distribution with concurrent constitution and the relationship of TCM constitution distribution with age and the complication of dysmenorrhea were analyzed.Results(1)The constitution types of EMs patients listed in descending order of the proportion were yang deficiency constitution(65.1％,624/959),qi stagnation constitution(58.4％,560/959),qi deficiency constitution(52.8％,506/959),blood stasis constitution(44.2％,424/959),phlegm-damp constitution(42.5％,408/959),damp-heat constitution(41.9％,402/959),yin deficiency constitution(39.6％,380/959),balanced constitution(26.8％,257/959),and inherited special constitution(16.6％,159/959).Among the patients,there were fewer patients with single constitution,accounting for 20.2％(194/959),and most of them had concurrent constitution types,accounting for 79.8％(765/959).(2)The association rule mining based on Apriori algorithm obtained 33 related rules.The concurrent constitution types of qi deficiency-yang deficiency,blood stasis-yang deficiency,and blood stasis-qi stagnation were the association rules with high confidence.(3)Compared with patients aged 35 years and below,the patients over 35 years old were predominated by high proportion of blood stasis constitution(P＜0.05).Compared with patients without dysmenorrhea,the patients with dysmenorrhea had the increased proportion of biased constitutions and the decreased proportion of balanced constitution(P＜0.05 or P＜0.01).Conclusion Yang deficiency constitution,qi stagnation constitution,qi deficiency constitution and blood stasis constitution are the high-risk constitution types of EMs patients.The concurrent constitution types are commonly seen in EMs patients,which are more common than single biased constitution.Management of EMs patients with the methods of warming yang,relieving stagnation,benefiting qi and activating blood will be helpful for correcting the biased constitutions in time and preventing disease progression,which will achieve the preventive treatment efficacy through TCM constitution correction.

As interstitial collagen,type Ⅲ collagen(Col Ⅲ)does not express in normal glomeruli.However,in Col Ⅲ nephropathy,a large amount of Col Ⅲ deposit in the mesangial and subendothelial area of the glomeruli.IgA nephropathy with Col Ⅲ deposition was extremely rare.In this article,we reported two cases of such disease.After treating with immunosuppressive agents or traditional Chinese medicine decoction,the renal function of the two patients remained stable and the urinary protein levels reduced significantly.
