Chinese Journal of School Health 2026;47(3):332-336
Objective:
To analyze the trends of the frequency of meat, egg, and milk consumption among rural primary and junior high school students in central and western China covered by the Nutrition Improvement Program for Rural Compulsory Education Students (NIPRCES) from 2015 to 2023, so as to provide basis for formulating more targeted nutrition intervention policies and health education strategies.
Methods:
Using data from six rounds of monitoring and evaluation (2015-2021 and 2023), the study included 323 870 students from grade 3 to 9 across 22 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in central and western China. The consumption frequencies of meat, egg, and milk over the past week were collected via questionnaires. The Cochran-Armitage trend test was used to analyze temporal trends, and multivariable Logistic regression models were employed to analyze factors associated with the frequency of meat, egg and milk consumption and to test for interaction effects between the year and gender, region, and grade level.
Results:
From 2015 to 2023, the proportion of students consuming meat, egg, and milk ≥1 time/day increased from 23.20 %, 10.71%, and 0.74% to 35.53%, 22.09%, and 26.63%, respectively. Trend tests indicated a significant upward trend for the daily intake of all three food categories for meat, egg and milk over the years ( Z =67.18, 64.90, 93.14, all P <0.01). Multivariable Logistic regression analysis showed that the daily meat intake was lower in the central region than in the western region ( OR=0.77, 95%CI =0.76-0.78), whereas the daily intake of eggs ( OR=1.19, 95%CI =1.17-1.22) and milk ( OR= 1.27 , 95%CI =1.24-1.29) was higher in the central region (all P <0.05). Compared with grade 3-4 students, junior high school students had lower daily intake of meat, eggs, and milk≥1 time/day ( OR =0.95, 0.77, 0.77, all P <0.05), with a declining trend as grade increased. Girls also had lower daily intake of meat, eggs, and milk ≥1 time/day than boys ( OR =0.95,0.93,0.91, all P < 0.05). Significant interactions were observed between year and region, as well as between year and grade (all P <0.05).
Conclusion
From 2015 to 2023, the NIPRCES improved the intake level of among rural students, but the situation of relatively insufficient intake of egg and milk among females, junior high school students and those in the western region still exists.

OBJECTIVE To explore the mechanism of Shaoyao gancao decoction in improving intestinal motility in rats with slow transit constipation(STC)by regulating acid-sensitive ion channel 3(ASIC3)/extracellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK)signaling pathway.METHODS SD rats were used to construct an STC model by gavage with compound diphenoxylate. The successfully modeled rats were randomly divided into model group,Shaoyao gancao decoction group(1.5 g/mL),lactulose group(208.4 mg/mL,positive control),and combined inhibition group(Shaoyao gancao decoction 1.5 g/mL+amiloride hydrochloride 20 μg/kg),with 12 rats in each group.Additionally,12 healthy rats were selected as the blank group. They were given relevant medicine once a day and continuously intervened for 14 days. After intervention, the intestinal propulsion function and visceral sensitivity of the model rats were detected. The expression of ASIC3 in the colon tissue of rats was observed by immunohistochemical staining.mRNA expressions of ASIC3,ERK1 and ERK2 as well as protein expressions of ASIC3,ERK1/2 and phosphorylated ERK1/2(p-ERK1/2)in colon tissue of rats were detected;the ultrastructural changes of the enteric nervous system(ENS)-interstitial cell of Cajal(ICC)-smooth muscle cell(SMC)network in the rat colon were observed under electron microscopy.RESULTS Compared with the model group, the intestinal propulsion rate of the Shaoyao gancao decoction group was significantly increased, while the visceral pain threshold was significantly decreased. The proportion of the positive area of ASIC3 in the colonic tissue was significantly increased. The relative mRNA expression levels of ERK1,ERK2,and ASIC3,as well as the relative protein expression levels of p-ERK1/2 and ASIC3,and the p-ERK1/2 to ERK1/2 in the colonic tissue, were all significantly increased(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Additionally,there was marked repair of the morphological structure of ICC and SMC,with closer gap junctions observed.Compared with the Shaoyao gancao decoction group, the combined inhibition group exhibited a diminished improvement in intestinal motility of rats, with statistically significant differences in the levels of some indicators(P<0.05 or P<0.01);the repairing of the morphological structure of ICC and SMC was notably attenuated.CONCLUSIONS Shaoyao gancao decoction can effectively improve the intestinal transmission function and promote intestinal repair in STC rats, and its mechanism may be related to regulating the balance of the ENS-ICC-SMC network mediated by the ASIC3/ERK signaling pathway, thus promoting intestinal motility and reducing visceral sensitivity.

The levels of N/U, AFP, CA199 and HE4 in patients with different pathologic grades and prognosis were compared. COX regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of EC adverse prognosis, ROC curve was used to analyze the value of N/U combined with serum AFP, CA199 and HE4 in predicting EC adverse prognosis, and a nomogram model was constructed. Results:Pathological examination of 160 EC patients showed that 12 cases were non-endometrioid adenocarcinoma, 148 cases were endometrioid adenocarcinoma, 41 cases were high-grade and 119 cases were low-grade.According to the follow-up, 94 of the 160 EC patients had good prognosis and 66 had poor prognosis. The levels of N/U, AFP, CA199 and HE4 in the poor prognosis group were higher than those in the good prognosis group ( P<0.05). COX regression analysis showed that high levels of N/U, AFP, CA199 and HE4 were all factors affecting the poor prognosis of EC patients ( P<0.05). The AUC value of combined detection of N/U, AFP, CA199 and HE4 in predicting adverse prognosis of EC patients was higher than that of single detection ( Z=3.140, 3.658, 4.277, 4.378, P<0.05) .The ROC curve AUC (95% CI) of the training set and the validation set were 0.84 (0.77-0.92) and 0.90 (0.81-0.98) respectively for the training set and the validation set to predict the adverse prognosis of EC patients. Calibration curve results showed that the calibration curve for EC patients predicted by the nomogram model was close to the ideal curve ( P=0.521, 0.743). The DCA curve shows that the probability threshold of the nomogram model has a higher positive net return at 20%~100%. Conclusion:The levels of N/U, AFP, CA199 and HE4 in EC patients are related to the pathologic grade, and the combined detection of these indicators can predict the poor prognosis of EC patients, and the nomogram model constructed based on these indicators has high predictive value.

Body weight abnormalities, including overweight, obesity, and underweight, have become a dual public health challenge in Chinese adults: overweight and obesity lead to a variety of chronic complications, while underweight increases the risks of malnutrition, sarcopenia, and organ dysfunction. To systematically address these issues, multidisciplinary experts in endocrinology, sports science, nutrition, and psychiatry from various regions have held multiple weight management seminars. Based on the latest epidemiological data and clinical evidence, they expanded the guideline to include assessment and intervention strategies for underweight, in addition to the core content of obesity management. This guideline outlines the etiological mechanisms, evaluation methods, and multidimensional management strategies for overweight and obesity, covering key areas such as diagnosis and assessment, medical nutrition therapy, exercise prescription, pharmacological intervention, and psychological support. It is intended to provide a scientific and standardized approach to weight management across the adult population, aiming to curb the rising prevalence of obesity, mitigate complications associated with abnormal body weight, and improve nutritional status and overall quality of life.
