The multimorbidity of rheumatoid arthritis （RA） and periodontitis （PD） has drawn increasing attention， as both conditions are characterized by chronic inflammation， immune dysregulation， and progressive bone destruction. Modern research confirms that PD is a significant risk factor for RA development， and their coexistence mutually exacerbates disease progression. However， traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） currently lacks a systematic theoretical explanation for this complex multimorbid relationship. This study， based on the TCM theory of abnormal collateral， thoroughly examines the intrinsic connection between RA and PD multimorbidity， proposing "abnormal collateral as the pivot， with accumulated toxins eroding bone" as the core TCM pathogenesis. The research elucidates PD as the "origin of abnormal collateral"， where its pathogens act as toxic factors that invade the joints through collaterals， triggering RA via mechanisms such as molecular mimicry. The dynamic pathological progression of RA-PD multimorbidity can be described as follows： the displacement of Ying and Wei at the microscopic level manifests as immune hyperactivation， leading to collateral malnutrition； heat-toxins traversing collaterals induce collateral hyperactivity， resulting in pathological angiogenesis； ultimately， toxin accumulation at the pivotal abnormal collateral site erodes bone， activating the receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B ligand （RANKL）-receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B （RANK） signaling pathway-driven osteoclast differentiation. This theoretical framework innovatively integrates modern findings in oral microbiology， immune-inflammation， and bone metabolism， offering a holistic and dynamic perspective to understand the complexity of multimorbidity. Given the limited efficacy of current periodontal treatments for RA and the scarcity of reported TCM compound interventions for multimorbidity， the abnormal collateral theory proposes a systematic intervention strategy centered on "governing diseases through collaterals and regulating collaterals with herbs"， along with TCM therapeutic principles such as "unblocking， clearing， and nourishing collaterals". Potential herbal treatments for multimorbidity are also highlighted. Future research should focus on refining TCM syndrome patterns in multimorbid patients and leveraging omics technologies for deeper exploration， thereby providing a theoretical foundation and research direction for TCM in addressing complex multimorbid conditions.

Clinical chemotherapy for prostate cancer is still compromised by high treatment thresholds and severe off-target toxicity of drugs. Given the limited progress in improving therapeutic outcomes and reducing toxicity with the existing toolbox, efforts to broaden the chemotherapeutic window are highly desired. Here, we discover that gossypol (GSP, a natural compound) dramatically enhances the chemosensitivity of cabazitaxel (CTX), even at previously ineffective concentrations. Based on this interesting finding, we exploit a carrier-free chemotherapeutic nano-booster for prostate cancer treatment, which is molecularly co-assembled by GSP and cabazitaxel (CTX). GSP not only readily forms nanoassembly with CTX, but also functions as a chemotherapeutic enhancer that unlocks an ultra-low-dose chemotherapeutic window. Not only that, precise dual-drug nanoassembly confers CTX a significantly larger maximum tolerable dose. As expected, the nano-booster exerts striking therapeutic benefits in mouse prostate tumor xenograft models. This study advances chemotherapeutic window expansion and self-sensitized chemotherapy toward clinical applicability.

Organoid is a newly developed cellular there-dimensional culture system in recent years. Organoids have a three-dimensional structure, which is similar to that of the real organs. Together with the characteristics of self-renewal and reproduction of tissue origin, organoids can better simulate the function of real organs. Organoids provide a new platform for the study of organogenesis, regeneration, disease pathogenesis, and drug screening. The digestive system is an essential part of the human body and performs important functions. To date, organoid models of various digestive organs have been successfully established. This review summarizes the latest research progress of organoids of taste buds, esophagi, stomachs, livers and intestines, and prospects future application of organoids.

Objective : To analyze the epidemiological characteristics and pathogen spectrum of hand，foot mouth disease (HFMD) in Anhui province from 2015 to 2022，and to provide scientific evidence for prevention and control measures of HFMD． Methods : The surveillance data of hand，foot and mouth disease in Anhui province from 2015 to 2022 were analyzed by descriptive epidemiology. Real-time PCR was used to detect and classify HFMD samples. Results : A total of 650 590 HFMD cases were reported in Anhui province from 2015 to 2022，including 1 406 se- vere cases and 17 deaths．The annual reported incidence was 131. 45 /100 000．The epidemic features of“low incidence in odd years and high incidence in even years”were presented from 2015 to 2019．The incidence showed a continuous decline from 2020 to 2022．The monthly distribution showed the characteristics of bimodal epidemic，and the main peak was not obvious in 2020．Hefei，Fuyang，Bozhou，Chuzhou and Suzhou ranked the top five cities in terms of cumulative incidence．The age of onset was mainly distributed in children aged 5 years and below，accounting for 89. 26% of the total cases．The male to female ratio was 1. 48 ∶ 1．A total of 28 657 laboratory-confirmed cases had been reported from 2015 to 2022．EV71 cases accounted for 10. 57% ，Cox A16 cases accounted for 24. 90% ，and other enterovirus cases accounted for 64. 53%．The dominant pathogens showed dynamic changes in different years．Since 2018，the proportion of EV71 decreased significantly，and the proportion of other enteroviruses gradually increased to become the dominant pathogens．Among other enteroviruses，Cox A6 strain was dominant (80. 48% ) ． Conclusion This study suggests that the prevention and control of HFMD in Anhui province should be paid more attention from April to July and from October to December．The focus areas are the cities in northern Anhui and Hefei where the floating population is large．The focus of prevention and control is on children aged 5 years and below．Other enteroviruses have become the dominant pathogens of hand-foot-mouth disease in Anhui province，Cox A6 strain is dominant.

ObjectiveTo analyze the epidemic characteristics of foodborne disease outbreaks in Mengla County， Yunnan Province， so as to provide basis for formulating corresponding prevention and control measures. MethodsThe data of foodborne disease outbreaks in Mengla County， Yunnan Province from 2017 to 2021 in the national "foodborne disease outbreak monitoring system" were collected. The time， population， region， place， pathogenic factors and inducing links of the events were statistically analyzed. ResultsFrom 2017 to 2021， a total of 68 incidents were reported， including 526 cases and 5 deaths. The total incidence rate was 23.40% and the case fatality rate was 0.95%. The peak period was from May to July， with the largest number of reported events in July. The reporting areas were mainly Mengla Town （35.29%）， Guanlei Town （11.76%） and Mengpeng Town （10.29%）. The main place of the incident was family （76.47%）. The main pathogenic factors were plant toxins （79.41%）， mainly through the ingestion of wild mushrooms （68.52%）， improper processing of green beans （12.96%） and aconitum （9.26%）. ConclusionAccording to the epidemiological characteristics of Mengla County， we should focus on the public education of health knowledge in key areas and places， especially on the identification of wild mushrooms， to prevent accidental eating. At the same time， we should strengthen the monitoring and risk assessment of foodborne diseases， find potential risks as soon as possible， issue early warning and forecast in time， and constantly improve the clinical treatment ability of poisoned patients.

In this study,a functionalized covalent-organic framework(COF)was first synthesized using porphyrin as the fabrication unit and showed an edge-curled,petal-like and well-ordered structure.The synthesized COF was then introduced to prepare porous organic polymer monolithic materials(POPMs).Two com-posite POPM/COF monolithic materials with rod shapes,referred to as sorbent A and sorbent B,were prepared in stainless steel tubes using different monomers.Sorbents A and B exhibited relatively uniform porous structures and enhanced specific surface areas of 153.14 m2/g and 80.01 m2/g,respectively.The prepared composite monoliths were used as in-tube solid-phase extraction(SPE)sorbents combined with HPLC for the on-line extraction and quantitative analytical systems.Indole alkaloids(from Catharanthus roseus G.Don and Uncaria rhynchophylla(Miq.)Miq.Ex Havil.)contained in mouse plasma were extracted and quantitatively analyzed using the online system.The two composite multifunctional monoliths showed excellent clean-up ability for complex biological matrices,as well as superior selec-tivity for target indole alkaloids.Method validation showed that the RSD values of the repeatability(n=6)were≤3.46％,and the accuracy expressed by the spiked recoveries was in the ranges of 99.38％-100.91％and 96.39％-103.50％for vinca alkaloids and Uncaria alkaloids,respectively.Furthermore,sorbents A and B exhibited strong reusability,with RSD values≤5.32％,which were based on the peak area of the corresponding alkaloids with more than 100 injections.These results indicate that the composite POPM/COF rod-shaped monoliths are promising media as SPE sorbents for extracting trace compounds in complex biological samples.

Objective:To study the stability and influencing factors of potassium iodate iodized salt that can be sold in Jilin Province.Methods:In November 2020, 10 large supermarkets were randomly selected in Jilin Province, and two kinds of potassium iodate iodized salts were randomly selected in each supermarket, with five copies of each kind, a total of 100 samples of iodized salt, and the iodine content was determined by spectrophotometry (iodide-starch blue light method). Iodized salt samples were classified according to different salt species (mine salt, sea salt and lake salt) and different production processes (refined salt and non-refined salt). The salt was stored at room temperature, and the iodine content in the salt was measured at 0, 10 and 20 days after opening the packaging. The iodine content attenuation rates of different salt species and different production processes were compared.Results:The mine salt, sea salt and lake salt in iodized salt samples were 45, 45 and 10 portions, respectively. The iodine contents of the 0th day of storage [(19.89 ± 1.38), (20.62 ± 1.91), (19.78 ± 1.01) mg/kg] were compared, and the difference was not statistically significant ( F = 2.57, P = 0.093). On the 10th day, the iodine content of mine salt was lower than that of sea salt and lake salt, and the differences were statistically significant ( P < 0.05); on the 20th day, the iodine content of mine salt was lower than that of sea salt, and the difference was statistically significant ( P < 0.05). There was a significant difference in the iodine content of mine salt stored at 0, 10 and 20 days ( F = 90.62, P < 0.001). The iodine content of sea salt and lake salt on the 20th day was significantly lower than that on the 0th and 10th day, and the differences were statistically significant ( P < 0.05). The iodine content attenuation rates of mine salt, sea salt and lake salt on the 0 - 10 days was compared with that on the 10 - 20 days, and the differences were statistically significant ( Z = 2.24, 2.94, 2.80, P < 0.05). There was a significant difference in the iodine content attenuation rates of mine salt, sea salt and lake salt during the 0 - 10 days of storage ( Z = 24.05, P < 0.001), there was no statistically significant difference in the iodine content attenuation rates on 10 - 20 days ( Z = 5.86, P = 0.053). There was no significant difference in iodine content attenuation rates between refined salt and non-refined salt on 0 - 10, 10 - 20 days ( Z = 1.16, 0.28, P > 0.05). There was no statistical significant difference in the iodine content attenuation rates of refined salt and non-refined salt on the 0 - 10 days compared with those of 10 - 20 days ( Z = 0.76, 1.90, P > 0.05). Conclusions:Iodine loss occurs at 20 days after opening the packaging of iodized salt in Jilin Province. The attenuation of iodine content is less affected by salt species and production processes. It is recommended to eat iodized salt within 20 days after opening the packaging.

The morbidity of scoliosis in adolescents in China is about 3%-5%, 80%-85% of the patients are adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS), whose etiology is unknown. Scoliosis is a structural spine disease occurring during puberty or before skeletal maturation. Scoliosis has a greatly negative impacton not only the growth and development of adolescent spine, but also the mental health of adolescents. Ocular disease is a common clinical disease in which the eye ball and its accessory structures have structural abnormalitiesordys function. Ocular disease snotonly bring in convenience to patients's life, but also may induce diseases in other organs. Recent studies have shown that various ocular diseases may have a potential impact on scoliosis, and quite a fewof patients with certain ocular diseases have higher incidence rate of scoliosis. Therefore, in this article, the etiological relationship between eye diseases and scoliosis will be summarized, which provides guidance and direction for the etiological research of scoliosis and eye diseases. After sorting out, we found that the relationship between ophthalmic diseases and scoliosis mainly concentrated in the following four aspects: choroidal thickness and scoliosis, Goldenhar syndrome, gene level and strabismus. Among them, the genetic relationship is the most complex, about 40 kinds of gene or chromosome abnormalities have been found to cause ocular diseases and scoliosis; Goldenhar syndrome, also known as oculo-auriculo-vertebral spectrum, first revealed the relationship between ocular diseases and scoliosis, but the current statistical relationship is still very vague. There are few studies on choroidal thickness and strabismus at home and abroad, which are statistical studies, only revealing the relationship between choroidal thickness and scoliosis, and there are many defects in the study of choroidal thickness, which need further research.

OBJECTIVE：To inv estigate the effects of 4-hydroxy-2（3H）-benzoxazolone on inflammatory and apoptosis signaling pathways in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease （NAFLD）model rats. METHODS ：SD rats were divided into normal control group（10 rats）and modeling group （50 rats）. Normal control group was given basic diet ，and modeling group were given high-fat diet to induce NAFLD model. After modeling ，the rats were divided into normal control group ，model group ，silibinin group （26.25 mg/kg），and 4-hydroxy-2（3H）-benzoxazolone high-dose ，medium-dose and low-dose groups （100，50，25 mg/kg），with 8 rats in each group. Normal control group and modeling group were given 0.6％ CMC-Na intragastrically ，and other groups were given relevant medicine 10 mL/kg intragastrically ，once a day ，for consecutive 4 weeks. After last medication ，the serum levels of albumin（ALB），total protein （TP），globulin（GLB），ALB/GLB and free fatty acid （FFA）were detected ；TUNEL staining was used to observe the apoptosis of rat hepatocytes. Western blot assay was used to detect the protein expression and phosphorylation level of inflammatory signaling pathway related proteins [Toll-like receptor 4（TLR4），myeloid differentiation factor 88（MyD88）， nuclear factor-κB p65（NF-κB p65），NF-κB inhibitor protein（IκBα）] in liver tissue as well as the expression of apoptosis signaling pathway related proteins [B cell lymphoma 2（Bcl-2），Bax，caspase-3]. RESULTS ：Compared with model group ，serum levels of TP （except for low-dose group ），GLB and FFA ，the protein expression of TLR 4（except for low-dose group ），MyD88 （except for medium-dose group ）and caspase- 3，the phosphorylation levels of NF-κB p65 and IκBα protein were decreased significantly（P＜0.05 or P＜0.01）. The ratio of A LB/GLB in serum and the ratio of Bcl- 2/Bax in liver tissue were significantly increased（P＜0.05 or P＜0.01），and the phenomenon of hepatocyte apoptosis was improved. CONCLUSIONS ：4-hydroxy-2 （3H）-benzoxazolone can ameliorate NAFLD in rats ，and the mechanism may be associated with inhibiting the expression TLR 4/ MyD88/NF-κB signaling pathway-related proteins and apoptosis-related proteins in liver tissues.
