Objective To explore the feasibility of direct low-dose CT thyroid protection scanning technology for detecting lower respiratory tract infectious diseases in children.Methods A total of 1 128 children who underwent CT chest examination due to suspected lower respiratory tract infectious diseases were enrolled and divided into 2 groups according to scanning scheme,which in group A(n=1 088)covered the whole lung apex and used conventional or direct low-dose scanning techniques,while in group B(n=40)did not include lung apex(the starting line located horizontally at the upper edge of manubrium sterni)and adopted direct low-dose scanning technique.Forty children in group A with age and gender matched with those in group B who received direct low-dose CT scanning were taken as group A1.The property of lung apex lesions and whether the lesions impacted the diagnostic outcomes in group A,as well as the display of thyroid gland in both group A and B were analyzed.Radiation dosage was compared between group A1 and group B.Results The radiation dose in group B was 22.1-35.6 mGy,with an average of(28.34±2.86)mGy,significantly lower than that in group A1(29.1-44.3 mGy,with an average of[34.71±3.07]mGy,P＜0.001).Among 1 088 cases in group A,CT showed lung apex lesions in 54 cases(54/1 088,4.96%),including 49 cases(49/1 088,4.50%)of inflammatory,4 cases(4/1 088,0.37%)of linear atelectasis and 1 case(1/1 088,0.09%)of space-occupying,all were expended from other lung lobe and did not impact final imaging diagnosis.Thyroid gland was displayed in 1 046 cases(1 046/1 088,96.14%)in group A(including 40 cases in group A1),which was not displayed in all 40 cases(40/40,100%)in group B.The display rate of thyroid gland in group A1 was significantly higher than that in group B(χ2=80.000,P＜0.001).Conclusion Direct low-dose CT thyroid protection scanning technology was feasible for detecting lower respiratory tract infectious diseases in children,which could reduce radiation dose and protect thyroid from ionizing radiation damage.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects and potential mechanism of persimmon leaf (PL) extract against ferroptosis induced by H2O2 in IEC-6 cells.METHODS Using IEC-6 cells as object,the effects of ferroptosis inhibitor ferrostatin-1 on IEC-6 cell viability induced by H2O2 were investigated;IEC-6 cells were divided into control group,H2O2 group,H2O2+PL 25 μg/mL group and H2O2+PL 50 μg/mL group.The levels of oxidant stress indexes[content of malondialdehyde (MDA),activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD),and levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS)],mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) as well as mRNA and protein expressions of nuclear factor-erythroid-2 related factor 2 (Nrf2),heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1),NADPH/quinone oxidoreductase-1 (NQO-1),cystine/glutamate anti-porter (xCT),glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) and ferritin heavy chain (FTH) were detected.RESULTS Ferroptosis inhibitor ferrostatin-1 could significantly increase the survival rate of H2O2-induced cells (P<0.01).Compared with the control group,MDA content,ROS level,mRNA expressions of Nrf2 and NQO-1 as well as protein expressions of Nrf2 and HO-1 were increased or up-regulated significantly,while SOD activity,MMP,mRNA expressions of xCT,GPX4 and FTH as well as protein expressions of GPX4 and FTH were decreased or down-regulated significantly (P<0.01 or P<0.05).Compared with the H2O2 group,oxidative stress indexes of H2O2+PL 25,50 μg/mL groups were reversed to different extents,MMP level was increased significantly,as well as mRNA and protein expressions of Nrf2,HO-1,NQO-1,xCT,GPX4 and FTH were up-regulated to different extents;there were statistical significances in some indexes between groups (P<0.01 or P<0.05).CONCLUSIONS PL extract can alleviate mitochondrial membrane damage and abnormal accumulation of ROS caused by H2O2,which may be related to the inhibition of ferroptosis by activating the Nrf2/HO-1 signaling pathway.

Objective To observe the short-term clinical outcomes of arthroscopic single-tibial tunnel Pushlock fixation in the treatment of tibial avulsion fracture of the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL).Methods From December 2015 to January 2018,15 patients with tibial avulsion fracture of PCL were treated at Department of Articular Surgery,The Third Affiliated Hospital to Hebei Medical University.They were treated with arthroscopic single-tibial tunnel Pushlock fixation.All the fractures were fresh.They were 9 males and 6 females,aged from 14 to 64 years (average,33.6 years).The short-term outcomes were evaluated by comparing their preoperative and postoperative flexion of the knee,International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) and Lysholm scores.Results The operation lasted from 40 to 70 minutes (average,53 minutes).The 15 patients were successfully followed up for 10 to 18 months (average,12.2 months).All the fractures united well within 3 months after operation.All the posterior drawer tests were negative,showing no displacements or no complications like lesions of popliteal fossa,nerves and vessels,or impaired knee extension.At 6 months after surgery,the knee flexion (123.4°± 6.5°),the Lysholm scores (91.8 ± 3.5) and the IKDC scores (95.5 ± 1.6) were all significantly improved compared with the preoperative values (77.5°±13.1°,46.8 ±8.9 and 37.0±8.9) (P ＜0.05).Conclusion The tibial avulsion fracture of PCL can be treated by arthroscopic single-tibial tunnel Pushlock fixation with satisfactory early outcomes.

To investigate the pathogenic characteristic of ToxoDB # 17 Toxoplasma gondii in Kunming mice,the mice were fed with ＜1,1,101,102,103,104,105,106 oocysts,and the clinical symptoms of mice were observed.MAT,HE and IHC were used to research the infection rate of T.gondii,survival rate of mice and the number of cysts in brain.The results showed that the mice fed with ≥104 oocysts appeared transient depression,mice were arched,messy hair after infection.The mice fed with ≥102 oocysts were all infected,T.gondii cysts formation rate was 2.38％ (1/42),the survival rate of infected mice was 85.71％ (36/42),the survival time was greater than 360 days.In conclusion,the pathogenicity of ToxoDB# 17 T.gondii is weak,and cysts formation rate is also low.

Objective To evaluate the heritability explanation degree of schizophrenia by all known susceptibility variants in schizophrenia. Methods The GWAS catalog of National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) was queried to retrieve all the susceptible gene variations of schizophrenia. Sixty-two variants with risk allele frequency and odds ratio (OR ) were selected from 347 susceptible gene variants of schizophrenia. The heritability explanation degree of each susceptibility variants was calculated using the multifactorial liability threshold model. Results The total heritabili-ty explanation degree of schizophrenia by 62 known susceptible variants was 25.66%. In contrast, 74.34%of heritability, which could not be explained by known susceptibility variants, were then defined as the missing heritability of schizophre-nia. Conclusions The results demonstrate that the heritability explanation degree of schizophrenia by all known suscepti-bility variants in schizophrenia is low, indicating that there may be many unknown schizophrenia molecular genetic mech-anisms need to be further clarified.

Objective To evaluate the clinical application of CT virtual cystoscopy (CTVC). Me-thods Thirteen patients who had clinical indication were studied. Iodine contrast was intravenously injected after the bladder was voided. Thin-slice spiral CT scanning of the bladder area was started when the bladder became filled with contrast media. By using 3D navigator smooth software, CTVC images were obtained. The findings in all cases were compared with the cystoscopy and surgical results. Results Nine patients with CTVC were proved vesical tumor,3 patients with CTVC were proved benign prostatic hyperplasia, and they were confirmed by cystoscopy,1 patient with cystitis glandularis could not be diagnosed with CTVC.By CTVC, the diagnostic accordance rate was 92.3%,the coincidence rate was 100.0% in vesical tumor. Conclusions CTVC is highly sensitive in displaying the vesical lesions.Being a new and non-invasive technique, CTVC is very helpful in the diagnosis of introvesical diseases. It has fine value in the clinical practice.

Objective To evaluate the air bronchograpm in the differential diagnosis of peripheral solitary pulmonary nodule(3 cm or less) by computed tomography (CT). Methods The thin section CT images of air bronchogram in 190 eases with peripheral solitary pulmonary nodule confirmed by surgical resection and/or bronehoscopy and/or percutaneous needle biopsy and histopathology were analysed. Results The air bronchogram was seen in 52/100(52%) cases with peripheral lung cancers and in 29/50 cases (58%) with inflammatory pseudotumors on CT scans. Of lung cancers, there were adenocareinoma in 23/31 eases, squamous cell carcinoma in 14/41 cases, adenosquamous carcinom in 4/5 cases,small cell carcinoma in 7/14 cases and poorly differentiate carcinoma in 5/9 cases. The air bronchograms were not seen in 32 tuberculomas,5 hamartomas and 3 pulmonary cysts. Conclusion Air bronchogram can be seen in several pnlmonary nodules,it does not appear to be the characteristic of small peripheral carcinoma especially adenocarcinoma, and it alsc can not be helpful in distingushing malignant and benign pulmonary nodules.

Objective　To investigate the influence of pretr eatment with anti-B lymphocyte serum on the immunogenecity and endocrine functi on of islet preparations.Methods　Porcine ICCs were pretre ated with anti-B lymphocyte serum which was produced using the mixed adult porc i ne B lymphocyte as antigen.The immunogenecity of islet was measured by mixed isl et lymphocyte culture (MILC) and SLA-DR positive cell number within the islet and the islet function was assayed with insulin release test.Results 　The cpm value of MILC of the group pretreated with anti-B lymphocy te serum and the MHCⅠ antigen and SLA-DR antigen positive cell numbers was mar kedly decreased in comparison with that of control group (P＜0.001).There wa s no significant difference in insulin release of additional different groups.[ WT5”HZ Conclusion　The pretreatment of islet preparation with anti -B lymphocyte serum may decrease the immunogenecity of islet preparation,while there is no marked influence on its insulin release function.
