BACKGROUND:Nerve growth factor plays an important role in the physiological and pathological processes of bone tissue.Systematic analysis of the effects of nerve growth factor on bone tissue is of great significance in both tissue engineering and clinical treatment.OBJECTIVE:To investigate the regulation of bone formation process by nerve growth factor through pathways such as bone tissue cells and bone nerve-vessel coupling,as well as to study the role of nerve growth factor in the pathological process of bone-related diseases.METHODS:The authors searched for relevant articles in CNKI,WanFang, and PubMed with the keywords of"nerve growth factor,TrkA,NGF,bone, cartilage"in Chinese and English.A total of 2 925 articles were initially retrieved. After screening,116 articles were incorporated into this review.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Nerve growth factor can be expressed by bone, cartilage, nerve, vessel and other tissue cells. At the same time, nerve growth factor can play a regulatory role on these cells.Through a variety of secretion and regulation methods, nerve growth factor plays a role as a signal transduction factor within bone tissue and between bone, nerve and blood vessel tissues.By promoting the proliferation and differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, nerve growth factor promotes bone formation and bone repair.Nerve growth factor has multi-directional regulatory effects on bone tissue through its effects on osteoclasts.Meanwhile, nerve growth factor is highly correlated with the occurrence and development of many orthopedic diseases and may provide new clinical therapeutic ideas. The study of nerve growth factor is one of the important directions to understand the physiological and pathological processes of bone.

Using big data and artificial intelligence to establish a multi-point monitoring, early warning, and disposal system to achieve early warning and intervention of infectious disease outbreaks is an important means of controlling the spread of the epidemic. Taking Xiaoshan district as an example, this study analyzes the monitoring contents, warning methods, and application effectiveness of the infectious disease monitoring, early warning and disposal system. Based on Xiaoshan′s health big data resources, the system starts with syndrome, disease diagnosis and etiology. Through advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and block chain, it realizes early identification of infectious disease outbreaks, data fusion, multi-cross collaboration, and closed-loop management. It has improved the sensitivity of clustered outbreaks monitoring and the effectiveness of epidemic disposal and provided a reference for grassroots disease prevention and control departments to establish an infectious disease monitoring and early warning system.

Objective:To analyze the clinical, genetic mutation characteristics, and treatment prognosis of type 2A hereditary hemochromatosis (HH) in China. Methods:Peripheral blood samples and clinical data of patients with primary iron overload were collected through the China Registry of Genetic/Metabolic Liver Disease from June 2015 to November 2023. HH-related genes were detected by Sanger sequencing. Clinical characteristics and gene mutation characteristics of HH patients carrying HJV gene mutations were analyzed. Results:Among the 37 cases with primary iron overload, ten cases (27.0%, 10/37) had detectable HJV gene mutations, which included four homozygous mutations, five compound heterozygous mutations, and one monoheterozygous mutation. p.Q6H and p.C321X (80.0%, 8/10) were the most common mutated sites. The average age of onset was 30.7±14.7 years. The age of diagnosis was 35.7±16.2 years, with male-to-female ratio of 7:3. Ferritin and transferrin saturation were (5 267±905) ng/ml, and 94.3%±1.2%, respectively. Magnetic resonance imaging showed iron overload in the liver, pancreas, and myocardium. Liver biopsy showed diffuse iron deposition within hepatocytes. All ten cases had elevated transaminases; one case (1/10, 10.0%) had liver cirrhosis; four cases (4/10, 40.0%) had heart failure and arrhythmia; five cases (5/10, 50.0%) had diabetes; six cases (6/10, 60.0%) had hypogonadism; six cases (6/10, 60.0%) had skin pigmentation; and six cases (6/10, 60.0%) had fatigue symptoms. All six cases underwent bloodletting therapy, and ferritin levels dropped to about 100 ng/ml. Two cases of oral administration of the iron chelator deferasirox did not meet the ferritin level standard, and one case died from acute heart failure following a confirmed diagnosis during hospitalization. Conclusion:The HJV gene may be one of the main pathogenic genes of HH in China. The p.Q6H and p.C321X mutations were one of the hotspot mutations. The onset age of HJV gene-related HH was between 20 and 30 years old, and their condition was severe. Therefore, early bloodletting treatment can have a favorable outcome.

ObjectiveTo explore the mental health status and its influencing factors among middle school students in Xide County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, and to provide references for mental health interventions for local middle school students. MethodsUsing a cross-sectional study design, one junior middle school and one senior middle school in Xide County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province, were randomly selected on September 16, 2021, and two classes per grade in each school involving 288 students were recruited. Subjects were assessed using Patients' Health Questionnaire Depression Scale-9 item (PHQ-9), Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale-7 item (GAD-7), PTSD Checklist for DSM-5 (PCL-5), Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) and UCLA Loneliness Scale (ULS-3). Then the scores of above scales were compared among middle school students with different demographic characteristics, and binary Logistic regression analysis was conducted to screen the influencing factors of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms. ResultsAmong the respondents, 17.71% (95% CI: 0.133~0.221), 8.68% (95% CI: 0.054~0.120), 2.78% (95% CI: 0.009~0.047) and 45.83% (95% CI: 0.400~0.516) were reported to have symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD and loneliness, respectively. Students in senior middle school scored lower on PCL-5 and ULS-3 than those in junior middle school [(6.46±8.91) vs. (8.87±9.42), t=2.202, P<0.05; (4.67±1.65) vs. (5.60±1.88), t=4.431, P<0.01]. Regression analysis denoted that depressive symptoms (OR=7.630, P<0.05) and anxiety symptoms (OR=3.789, P<0.01) were risk factors for PTSD symptoms among middle school students. ConclusionThe middle school students in Xide County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture suffer a high prevalence rate of depressive symptoms and loneliness, and those in junior middle school are more likely to feel a sense of strong loneliness, furthermore, depressive symptoms and anxiety symptoms are risk factors for PTSD symptoms.

Objective Observed by ultrasound, this study investigated anatomical characters of median nerve affecting the minimal current intensity of percutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (PNS).Methods Forty healthy adult volunteers were enrolled in this prospective observational stud-y.PNS was performed with a stimulating pen in 2 Hz,0.2 ms,3 mA probe mode for cubits the me-dian nerve localization.Stimulation current was adjusted according to the motor response and the min-imal current intensity at which the motor response was obtained was recorded. There after, the medi-an nerve was observed with ultrasound imaging at the location point. Then, the depth, diameter, area and circumference of the nerve were determined. Results The minimal current intensity was (1.9 ± 0.6)mA and the depth of nerve was (6.1±1.7)mm.The linear regression equation between the mini-mal current intensity and the depth of nerve is:Y (nerve depth,cm)=0.359 +0.135X1 (minimum current intensity,mA),the determination coefficient R2 =0.25 1 (P <0.01).Conclusion The stimu-lation threshold of PNS localization the median nerve was correlated to the depth of nerve, which sug-gests that PNS not only can determine the position of the peripheral nerve, but also can help predict the depth of the peripheral nerve according to the minimum stimulus current.
