Atherosclerosis （AS） is the main pathological basis of cardiovascular diseases， and its occurrence and development are closely related to epigenetic regulation. Histone modification， as the core mechanism of epigenetic regulation， plays a crucial role in the occurrence and development of AS by dynamically regulating chromatin structure and gene expression. In recent years， traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） and its active components have shown unique advantages and potential in regulating histone modification for the prevention and treatment of AS. This article systematically reviews the mechanisms of histone acetylation， methylation， lactylation， etc. in the pathological process of AS and summarizes the latest research progress in the intervention of AS by the active components and compound prescriptions of TCM through regulating histone modification. Studies have indicated that TCM and its compound prescriptions regulate the activities of histone modification enzymes via multiple targets， showing unique advantages in influencing lipid metabolism and inflammatory response， as well as stabilizing vulnerable plaques and endothelial function. The active components of TCM directly target the activities or expression of histone modification enzymes such as histone acetyltransferases （HATs）， histone deacetylases （HDACs）， histone lysine methyltransferases （KMTs）， and histone lysine demethylases （KDMs）， thereby causing changes in histone modification and ultimately affecting gene expression and pathological phenotype in AS. However， current research still has problems such as insufficient in-depth basic research， unclear intervention effects and mechanisms of AS dynamics， relatively isolated studies on various factors of epigenetic modification， and unclear establishment of quality control standards for TCM compound prescriptions based on epigenetic regulation. In the future， in-depth research is still needed， and the research results should be translated into clinical applications. This article systematically clarifies the key role and mechanism of TCM in regulating the pathological process of AS through epigenetic intervention， providing new ideas for the modernization of TCM and precise prevention and treatment of AS.

Objective: To establish a prediction model for high-risk cardiovascular disease (CVD) among residents aged 35 to 75 years, so as to provide the basis for improving CVD prevention and control measures. Methods: Permanent residents aged 35 to 75 years were selected from Dongcheng District, Beijing Municipality using the stratified random sampling method from 2018 to 2023. Demographic information, lifestyle, waist circumference and blood biochemical indicators were collected through questionnaire surveys, physical examinations and laboratory tests. Influencing factors for high-risk CVD among residents aged 35 to 75 years were identified using a multivariable logistic regression model, and a prediction model for high-risk CVD was established. The predictive effect was evaluated using the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Results: A total of 6 968 individuals were surveyed, including 2 821 males (40.49%) and 4 147 females (59.51%), and had a mean age of (59.92±9.33) years. There were 1 155 high-risk CVD population, with a detection rate of 16.58%. Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that gender, age, smoking, central obesity, systolic blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, triglyceride and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol were influencing factors for high-risk CVD among residents aged 35 to 75 years (all P<0.05). The area under the ROC curve of the established prediction model was 0.849 (95%CI: 0.834-0.863), with a sensitivity of 0.693 and a specificity of 0.863, indicating good discrimination. Conclusion The model constructed by eight factors including demographic characteristics, lifestyle and blood biochemical indicators has good predictive value for high-risk CVD among residents aged 35 to 75 years.

[Objective] To explore the effectiveness of applying the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle to enhance the compatibility rate of five Rh blood group antigen phenotypes between donors and recipients across multiple hospital campuses. [Methods] Clinical blood transfusion data from May to July 2022 were selected. Specific improvement measures were formulated based on the survey results, and the PDCA cycle management model was implemented from August 2022. The post-intervention phase spanned from August 2022 to October 2023. The Rh phenotype compatibility rate, the detection rate of Rh system antibodies, and the proportion of Rh system antibodies among unexpected antibodies were compared between the pre-intervention phase (May to July 2022) and the post-intervention phase. [Results] After the continuous improvement with the PDCA cycle, the compatibility rate for the five Rh blood group antigen phenotypes between donors and recipients from August to October 2023 reached 81.90%, significantly higher than the 70.54% recorded during the pre-intervention phase (May to July 2022, P<0.01), and displayed a quarterly upward trend (β=0.028, P<0.05). The detection rate of Rh blood group system antibodies (β=-9.839×10^-5, P<0.05) and its proportion among all detected antibodies (β=-0.022, P<0.05) showed a quarterly decreasing trend, both demonstrating a negative correlation with the enhanced compatibility rate (r values of -0.981 and -0.911, respectively; P<0.05). [Conclusion] The implementation of targeted measures through the PDCA cycle can effectively increase the compatibility rate of five Rh blood group antigen phenotypes between donors and recipients, reduce the occurrence of unexpected Rh blood group antibodies, thereby lowering the risk of transfusion and enhancing the quality and safety of medical care.

Methods: This retrospective study included 70%–99% symptomatic ICAS patients hospitalized from January 2016 to December 2022. Patients were classified into four groups based on high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C): residual cholesterol inflammatory risk (RCIR, hs-CRP ≥3 mg/L and LDL-C ≥2.6 mmol/L), RIR (hs-CRP ≥3 mg/L and LDL-C <2.6 mmol/L), residual cholesterol risk (RCR, hs-CRP <3 mg/L and LDL-C ≥2.6 mmol/L), and no residual risk (NRR, hs-CRP <3 mg/L and LDL-C <2.6 mmol/L). Vulnerable plaque features on HRMRI included positive remodeling, diffuse distribution, intraplaque hemorrhage, and strong enhancement. Results: Among 336 included patients, 21, 60, 58, and 197 were assigned to the RCIR, RIR, RCR, and NRR groups, respectively. Patients with RCIR (adjusted odds ratio [aOR], 3.606; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.346–9.662; P=0.011) and RIR (aOR, 3.361; 95% CI, 1.774–6.368, P<0.001) had higher risks of strong enhancement than those with NRR. Additionally, patients with RCIR (aOR, 2.965; 95% CI, 1.060–8.297; P=0.038) were more likely to have intraplaque hemorrhage compared with those with NRR. In the sensitivity analysis, RCR (aOR, 2.595; 95% CI, 1.201–5.608; P=0.015) exhibited an additional correlation with an increased risk of intraplaque hemorrhage. Conclusion In patients with symptomatic ICAS, RIR is associated with a higher risk of intraplaque hemorrhage and strong enhancement, indicating an increased vulnerability to atherosclerotic plaques.

ObjectiveTo investigate the mechanism of kidney-tonifying and liver-regulating cyclical therapy and its formula in regulating endometrial receptivity during the "implantation window" in rats with polycystic ovary syndrome （PCOS）. MethodsSix rats were randomly selected from 36 SPF SD female rats as the normal group， and the remaining rats were administered letrozole to induce a PCOS model. By using a random number method， the rats were divided into the following groups： normal group， model group， Xiaoyaosan group （11.97 g·kg^-1）， Sanzi Yangmo decoction group （28.35 g·kg^-1）， cyclical therapy group （11.97/28.35 g·kg^-1）， and aspirin group （8 × 10^-3 mg·kg^-1）. After 12 days of continuous administration by gavage （equivalent to three estrous cycles）， female and male rats were co-housed. On the fifth day of pregnancy， the number of blastocyst implantation in each group was counted. Hematoxylin-eosin （HE） staining was used to observe the pathological morphology of rat endometrial tissue. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay （ELISA） was used to measure the levels of estradiol （E₂） and progesterone （P） in rat serum. Western blot was used to detect the protein expression of vascular endothelial growth factor （VEGF）， progesterone receptor （PR）， estrogen receptor （ER）， androgen receptor （AR）， and integrin（ITG） αvβ3 in rat endometrial blood vessels. Real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction （Real-time PCR） was used to detect the mRNA expression of miR-140-5 P， VEGF， vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 （VEGFR2）， PR， ER， AR， and ITGαvβ3 in rat endometrium. ResultsCompared with normal group， the estrous cycle of the rats in model group continued to be in the estrus interval and the estrous cycle lost regular changes. The endometrium was significantly thinner， the number of uterine glands and blood vessels were significantly reduced （P<0.01）， and the pregnancy rate was significantly reduced. Compared with the model group， each drug group restored the regular estrous cycle to varying degrees， and the endometrial thickness and the number of blood vessels were significantly improved （P<0.01）. The pregnancy rate of each drug group increased， and the effect of the cycle therapy group could reach the normal level. The results of molecular biology experiments showed that compared with the normal group， the levels of serum E₂ and P in the model group were significantly decreased （P<0.01）， the expression of VEGF， ER， PR and ITGαvβ3 protein was significantly decreased （P<0.05，P<0.01）， the expression of AR protein was significantly increased （P<0.01）， the expression of miR-140-5P and AR mRNA was significantly increased （P<0.01）， and the expression of VEGF， VEGFR2， ER， PR and ITGαvβ3 mRNA was significantly decreased （P<0.01）. Compared with model group， the serum E₂ level in the Xiaoyaosan group was significantly increased （P<0.01）.The levels of E₂ and P in serum of rats in Sanzi Yangmo decoction group， cycle therapy group and aspirin group were significantly increased （P<0.01）. The expression of AR protein in each drug group was significantly decreased （P<0.01）. The expression of VEGF and ITGαvβ3 protein in Xiaoyaosan group was significantly increased （P<0.01）. The expression of VEGF， ER and PR protein in Sanzi Yangmo decoction group was increased to varying degrees （P<0.05，P<0.01）. Its efficacy in increasing pregnancy rates surpasses that of Xiaoyaosan or Sanzi Yangmo decoction used alone.

BackgroundPreventing and intervening in adolescent gaming disorder is of significant practical importance. Gaming motivation is strongly linked to gaming addiction and serves a key function in comprehending and addressing addictive gaming behaviors. However， the relationship between components of gaming motivation and symptoms of gaming disorder remains unclear. ObjectiveTo explore the relationship between components of gaming motivation and symptoms of gaming disorder among adolescents， so as to provide references for the prevention and intervention of gaming disorder in this population. MethodsFrom January to February 2024， a cluster sampling method was employed to select 1 414 adolescents from four middle schools in Sichuan Province and Chongqing Municipality as participants in the study. Online Game Motivation Scale （OGMS） and Gaming Disorder Scale for Adolescents （GADIS-A） were administered. Network analysis methods were utilized to investigate the relationships between components of gaming motivation and symptoms of gaming disorder. ResultsThe network edge weights revealed that achievement motivation was positively correlated with impaired game control ability， continued gaming despite negative consequences and the frequency of symptom occurrence （r=0.115， 0.050， 0.076， P<0.05）. Social motivation was negatively correlated with negative consequences （r=-0.054， P<0.05），while immersion motivation was positively correlated with continued gaming despite negative consequences （r=0.032， P<0.05）. Achievement motivation exhibited the highest strength centrality （1.157） among the three components of gaming motivation. ConclusionThe connections between components of gaming motivation and symptoms of gaming disorder exhibit distinct patterns， with each motivational component influencing gaming disorder through specific symptom pathway.
