Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of serum carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 6(CEACAM6)in pancreatic cancer. Methods A total of 188 patients admitted to the Pancreas Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from May to December 2024 were consecutively enrolled, including 112 patients in the pancreatic cancer group and 76 patients in the benign pancreatic disease group(43 with pancreatitis and 33 with benign pancreatic tumors).Additional-ly,76 healthy individuals were included in the health control group.Serum CEACAM6 and carbohydrate antigen 19-9(CA19-9)levels were detected by ELISA and chemiluminescence immunoassay(CLIA),respectively. The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was drawn to evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of serum CEACAM6 for pancreatic cancer. The positive rate of serum CEACAM6 in CA19-9-negative pancreatic cancer patients was also investigated. Results The levels of serum CEACAM6 in the pancreatic cancer group(20.3[11.1,34.0]ng/mL)were significantly higher than those in the benign pancreatic disease group(6.2[2.6,10.5]ng/mL,Z=64.1,P<0.001)and healthy control group(0.8[0.4,4.4]ng/mL,Z=131.6,P<0.001).The areas under the ROC curve(AUCROC),sensitivity, and specificity of CEACAM6 and CA19-9 in the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer were 0.889(95%CI:0.854-0.924)and 0.819(95%CI:0.761-0.863),81.3%and 65.2%,and 84.9%and 86.2%,respectively.The AUCROC,sensitivity, and specificity of the combined detection of the two reached 0.916(95%CI:0.875-0.946),91.1%,and 82.2%,respectively,which were better than any single indicator(P<0.05).In addition, the positive rate of serum CEACAM6 in CA19-9-negative pancreatic canc-er patients was 83.3%,significantly higher than CEA and CA125(P<0.01).Conclusion The detection of serum CEACAM6 is help-ful to the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, and its combination with serum CA19-9 can improve the diagnostic efficacy of pancreatic cancer.

3.The application of the diagnosis and therapy of single cell sequencing technology in central nervous system tumors
Chinese Journal of Preventive Medicine 2024;58(8):1161-1170
Central nervous system (CNS) tumors have complex causes and poor prognosis. Tumor heterogeneity is a major cause of treatment failure, and in-depth understanding of the biodiversity of CNS tumors is critical. Single-cell sequencing technology provides an opportunity to reveal the complex ecosystem of CNS tumors. In this study, we review the significance of single-cell sequencing in exploring the heterogeneity, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of CNS tumors from three aspects: tumor stem cells, tumor microenvironment, and cerebrospinal fluid. Although most of the findings have not been clinically applicable, they lay the foundation for the development of new guidelines for CNS tumors that help improve tumor prognosis and prevent tumor recurrence.

The analysis of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) facilitates the diagnosis and therapy of central nervous system (CNS) diseases. Compared to traditional methods, single-cell sequencing is conducive to analyze the cells composition and heterogeneity and discover scarce cells in CSF. Recent studies of single-cell sequencing in CSF has mainly focused on the neuroinfectious diseases, neurodegenerative and neuroinflammatory diseases, and leptomeningeal metastases (LM), reflecting the superiority and clinical value of single-cell sequencing in CNS diseases and providing new directions for the diagnosis and treatment of CNS diseases.

Objective To investigate the teaching effect of career planning course in medical students through questionnaire survey and interview. Methods A total of 54 medical students of the classes of 2017 and 2018 were selected as research subjects, and the career planning course was implemented.Questionnaire survey and interview were performed before and after teaching to measure career maturity index and evaluate the teaching effect of this course.SPSS 15.0 was used for data processing,The t-test was used for comparison before and after teaching. Results All medical students had significant increases in the scores of self-recognition,occupational understanding, information application, personal adjustment, and professional attitude after teaching. As for information application, the score of career maturity was (3.71 ± 0.99) before teaching and (4.01 ± 0.93) after teaching, and there was a significant change after teaching (P=0.015),while there were no significant changes in the other dimensions after teaching.Male students had significandy higher scores of self-recognition,occupational understanding, personal adjustment, and professional attitude than female students, while female students had a significantly higher score of information application than male students. There was a significant difference in professional attitude between male and female students (P<0.05).Conclusion The career planning course for medical students can provide help and inspiration for career development, but some of the teaching contents needs to be optimized and improved.
