Objective:To evaluate the clinical process of fragment reattachment in crown-root fractures (CRF) of teeth that the fracture occurred between sub-gingival and supra-alveolar ridge (sub-gingival & supra-alveolar ridge) in the esthetic zone, and to analyze the feasibility of this minimally invasive technique for sub-gingival & supra-alveolar ridge CRF involving anterior teeth.Methods:Fourteen sub-gingival & supra-alveolar ridge CRF involving anterior teeth in 12 patients received fragment reattachment in the Department of Prosthodontics, School of Stomatology, the Fourth Military Medical University from January 2016 to August 2024. The success rate of the fractured teeth 3 years after reattachment and the complications during the follow-up period were retrospectively analyzed. The 3-year success rate and complications during follow-up were evaluated to assess the clinical efficacy of this technique.Results:The 14 treated teeth were followed for an average of (36.0±33.7) months (range: 4-99 months). Complications occurred in 2 teeth: one was extracted due to debonding and replaced with a removable partial denture, while the other developed a palatal sinus post-reattachment, which healed after local saline irrigation and medication (followed for 12 months without recurrence). The remaining 12 teeth exhibited no complications, resulting in a success rate of 13/14.Conclusions:Fragment reattachment is a minimally invasive, rapid, and cost-effective treatment option for sub-gingival & supra-alveolar ridge CRF in the anterior esthetic zone. With strict case selection, it delivers favorable outcomes and extends the clinical lifespan of affected teeth.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the mechanism of Fuke duanhongyin capsule in improving dysfunctional uterine bleeding （DUB） in rats. METHODS Pregnant SD rats were randomly divided into blank control group （distilled water）， model control group （distilled water） and Fuke duanghongyin capsule group （1.296 g/kg）， with 6 rats in each group. Except for blank control group， DUB model was established in other groups. After modeling， they were given relevant medicine/distilled water 10 mL/kg intragastrically， once a day， for consecutive 14 d. After medication， uterine index， ovary index and hemorheology indexes （whole blood high shear relative index， whole blood low shear relative index， erythrocyte aggregation index， Carson viscosity） of rats were all determined. The pathological changes of uterus and ovary tissues were observed； mRNA relative expression levels of epidermal growth factor （EGF）， hypoxia-inducible factor 1α （HIF-1α）， epidermal growth factor receptor （EGFR） and serine/ threonine-protein kinase 1（AKT1）， and protein relative expression levels of EGF and EGFR in uterine tissue were all measured. RESULTS Compared with model control group， the uterine index， ovary index， erythrocyte aggregation index were all decreased significantly in Fuke duanghongyin capsule group （P＜0.05 or P＜0.01）； whole blood high shear relative indexes， mRNA relative expression levels of EGF， HIF-1α and EGFR and protein relative expression levels of EGF and EGFR in uterine tissue were all increased significantly （P＜0.05 or P＜0.01）. The pathological changes of ovary and uterus were improved. CONCLUSIONS Fuke duanhongyin capsule can improve DUB in rat， the mechanism of which may be related to the activation of EGF-EGFR signaling pathway.

Resin cements have been widely employed for bonding all-ceramic restorations in clinical practice, its color stability is directly related to long-term prosthetic effect of restorations. Discoloration of resin cements can be attributed to two causes: endogenous factors are generally related to material compositions and initiation mechanism of polymerization; exogenous factors are mainly related to stimulation of local oral environment. Color stability of resin cements has close relationship with esthetic effect of all-ceramic restorations. The aim of this literature review was to make a presentation and discussion systematically about color stability of resin cements commonly used clinically, its influence factors and influence on all-ceramic restorations, so as to provide a reference for the application of all-ceramic restorations.

Objective:To evaluate the clinical outcomes of implant-retained overdentures.Methods:57 patients treated by implant-retained overdentures were included.Parameters for peri-implant tissue conditions (e.g.peri-implant probing depth,plaque index,bleeding on probing,mucosal hyperplasia,peri-implant marginal bone loss) and prosthetic complications were examined and recorded.The precentage of satisfaction of the patients was assessed using the visual analog scale (VAS).Results:After an average follow-up of (48±11.3) months,the survival rate of the implants was 98.1%,the marginal bone loss was (1.38±0.74) mm.There was no statistically difference among the different attachment groups(bar,magnet and ball) regarding the peri-implant marginal bone loss or bleeding on probing(P>0.05).The peri-implant probing depth and plaque index in patients with magnet and ball attachments were lower than those in patients with bar attachments(P<0.05).The major complications were the upper abutment fracture,prostheses fracture and screw loosening.Most patients were satisfied with their prostheses and there was no statistically significant difference between the attachment types(P>0.05),except that magnet and ball attachments were much easier to clean compared with bar attachments(P<0.05).Conclusion:Implant-retained overdenture is a successful and satisfactory treatment option for patients with edentulous jaw.The patients should been given regular clinical examinations to keep peri-implant tissue health and reduce the complications,especially those with bar attachments.

Objective: To evaluate the effects of epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) modification on the bonding stability of an etch-and-rinse adhesive to intraradicular dentin, and to find a new strategy to improve the stability of bonding interface. Methods: EGCG was incorporated into Single Bond 2 (SB2) with the concentration of 200 mg/L and 400 mg/L respectively to fabricated experimental adhesives group A and group B, while Single Bond 2 without EGCG was used as control group. Laser scanning confocal microscope (LSCM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) were used to observe the bacterial biofilm adherent to the surface of the cured adhesive. Micro-Raman spectrum was used to test the degree of conversion (DC) of adhesives. The push-out bond strength of instant testing and aging with thermocycling for 5 000 times were also tested. Results: Group A and group B showed inhibiting effect on the biofilm formation of Enterococcus faecalis and performed better with higher concentration. No significant differences were detected in DC among group A ([69.73±0.68]%), group B ([69.03±1.65]%) and control group ([70.06±1.62]%) (P>0.05), and the immediate push-out bond strength of control group ([10.45±2.00] MPa) was not compromised compared to group A ([10.02±2.03] MPa) and group B ([9.95±3.03] MPa) (P>0.05). After thermocycling for 5 000 times, group A ([7.01±1.39] MPa) and group B ([7.62±1.88] MPa) showed significantly higher push-out bond strength than control group did ([5.08±1.56] MPa) (P<0.05). Conclusions EGCG modified etch-and-rinse adhesives showed anti-bacterial effect and enhanced bonding stability of intraradicular dentin-adhesive interfaces.
