Objective:To evaluate the clinical process of fragment reattachment in crown-root fractures (CRF) of teeth that the fracture occurred between sub-gingival and supra-alveolar ridge (sub-gingival & supra-alveolar ridge) in the esthetic zone, and to analyze the feasibility of this minimally invasive technique for sub-gingival & supra-alveolar ridge CRF involving anterior teeth. Methods:Fourteen sub-gingival & supra-alveolar ridge CRF involving anterior teeth in 12 patients received fragment reattachment in the Department of Prosthodontics, School of Stomatology, the Fourth Military Medical University from January 2016 to August 2024. The success rate of the fractured teeth 3 years after reattachment and the complications during the follow-up period were retrospectively analyzed. The 3-year success rate and complications during follow-up were evaluated to assess the clinical efficacy of this technique. Results:The 14 treated teeth were followed for an average of (36.0±33.7) months (range: 4-99 months). Complications occurred in 2 teeth: one was extracted due to debonding and replaced with a removable partial denture, while the other developed a palatal sinus post-reattachment, which healed after local saline irrigation and medication (followed for 12 months without recurrence). The remaining 12 teeth exhibited no complications, resulting in a success rate of 13/14.Conclusions:Fragment reattachment is a minimally invasive, rapid, and cost-effective treatment option for sub-gingival & supra-alveolar ridge CRF in the anterior esthetic zone. With strict case selection, it delivers favorable outcomes and extends the clinical lifespan of affected teeth.

Tumor treating fields (TTF) therapy is an innovative tumor treatment modality. Currently, the TTF devices predominantly employ insulated ceramic electrodes as the electric field transmission medium, resulting in low energy transfer efficiency of the electric field and poor portability of the devices. This study proposed an innovative TTF transmission mode and independently designed a conducted-electrode TTF cell culture dish utilizing inert titanium materials. The electric field conduction characteristics were verified through finite element simulations and experimental tests. Finally, based on the self-manufactured conducted-electrode TTF cell culture dish, experiments on the proliferation inhibition of U87 tumor cells by TTF were conducted. The results demonstrated that under an applied TTF voltage of 10 V and frequency of 200 kHz, the electric field intensities within the medium for conducted and insulated electrodes are approximately 2.5 V/cm and 0.7 V/cm, respectively. Compared to conventional insulated TTF systems, the conducted-electrode TTF configuration exhibited a lower electrode voltage drop and a higher electric field intensity in the culture medium, indicating superior electric field transmission efficiency. Following 36 hours of treatment with conducted-electrode TTF on U87 cells, the proliferation inhibition rate reached approximately 50%, demonstrating effective suppression of tumor cell growth. This approach presents a potential direction for optimizing TTF treatment modality and device design.

BACKGROUND:Traditional Chinese medicine has been proved to have a significant role in anti-osteoporosis,and the effectiveness and mechanism of Ligustri Lucidi Fructus and its the active ingredients against osteoporosis have gradually gained the attention of scholars.OBJECTIVE:To analyze and summarize the research progress of Ligustri Lucidi Fructus and its active ingredients against osteoporosis in vitro and in vivo.METHODS:We searched the relevant literature included in CNKI and PubMed databases using the search terms of"Osteoporosis,Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells,Osteoblast,Osteoclast,Ligustri Lucidi Fructus,Signal path"in Chinese and English, respectively.According to the needs of the research,we established the corresponding criteria and screened the literature.A total of 82 papers were included in the final review.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)The active ingredients of Ligustri Lucidi Fructus that exert anti-osteoporotic effects in vitro and in vivo mainly involve the following:Salidroside activates the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway by inhibiting the expression of Sclerostin and Dickkopf-related protein 1.This activation process enhances the expression of phosphorylated low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 6 in ovariectomized rats and primary osteoblasts, while decreasing the expression of glycogen synthase kinase 3β.Further,it promotes the expression of β-catenin,runt-related transcription factor 2 and cellular myelocytomatosis oncogene in the nucleus, thereby promoting the bone formation capacity of osteoblasts. The advantage is that it acts directly on osteoblasts to promote bone formation, which provides a new strategy for the treatment of osteoporosis.(2)Olive bittersweet significantly increases bone mineral density and regulates bone metabolism by decreasing terminal interleukin-6 and alkaline phosphatase concentrations in Sprague-Dawley rats.In vitro experiments showed that olive bittersweet promotes the proliferation of osteoblasts and up-regulates the protein and mRNA expression of osteoprotegerin, while inhibiting the protein and mRNA expression of receptor activator of nuclear factor-κB ligand. This mechanism of action is closely related to the regulation of the balance of the osteoprotegerin/receptor activator of nuclear factor-κB ligand system, demonstrating the advantage of increasing bone mineral density and maintaining bone health by regulating factors related to bone metabolism, but there is no significant effect on Ca2+concentration,which may limit its use in some specific types of osteoporosis.(3)By decreasing the expression of phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase, reducing the phosphorylation of protein kinase B and the expression of osteoclast-specific marker protein c-Fos,pineconiferin effectively inhibits the activation of phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase/protein kinase B/c-Fos pathway in osteoclasts. This inhibition reduces the proliferation and maturation of osteoclasts, which can help to reduce bone resorption. The advantage of this inhibition is that it can directly target osteoclasts, which provides a new target for osteoporosis treatment. However, the specific regulatory mechanism of osteoclasts needs to be studied in depth, and its long-term effect and safety need to be further evaluated.(4)The active ingredients of Ligustri Lucidi Fructus have shown good therapeutic effects on osteoporosis, but their mechanism of action is complex, involving the interaction of multiple genes, proteins and signaling pathways. In the future,large-scale clinical trials need to be carried out to verify its effectiveness and safety, and the strategy of combining the active ingredients of Ligustri Lucidi Fructus with other drugs needs to be further explored in order to obtain better therapeutic effects.

Objective:Exploring the surgical method and safety of robot assisted kidney transplantation (RAKT) with a kidney implanted through the vagina, currently there is no such surgery in China.Method:Retrospective analysis of the data of a 44-year-old postpartum woman with stage 5 chronic kidney disease admitted to the kidney transplantation ward of West China Hospital, Sichuan University on June 28, 2021. RAKT with a kidney inserted through the vagina was performed on the recipient. The transplanted kidney was cooled using continuous surface cooling technology (CSCT) using ice physiological saline. The recipient was followed up for 3 months after surgery. In addition, we searched the Wanfang database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, VIP database, China Biomedical Literature Service System, PubMed, Embase, and Central databases. The Chinese search keywords were "robot kidney transplantation" and "vagina", while the English search keywords were "kidney transplantation" and "robot" and "vacuum". The literature was published from June 1990 to June 2022, and a detailed summary of all published cases was provided.Result:a perineal approach was used to open the posterior fornix of the vagina and the graft was successfully implanted. The surgery was successfully completed, with a total duration of 250 minutes, vascular anastomosis time of 45 minutes, and warm ischemia time of 63 minutes. The recipient recovered smoothly without vaginal pain and postoperative pain relief; There was also no abdominal infection. Using CSCT, the surface temperature of the graft was maintained at 10~16 ℃ during anastomosis. After literature review, a total of 12 cases of renal RAKT implantation through vagina have been reported. All cases were successful, except for one case where the graft was poorly positioned and converted to open surgery. The average surgical time reported in the literature is (210 ± 37) minutes, vascular anastomosis time is (41 ± 8) minutes, and warm ischemia time is (50 ± 10) minutes. There were no surgical complications. Conclusion:Transvaginal insertion of RAKT into the kidney is safe and feasible, but special types of recipients should be selected for this surgical method and evaluated before surgery.

ObjectiveHigh performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used to establish the specific chromatograms of Aurantii Fructus from different origins, and the quality variability of Aurantii Fructus from Sichuan was analyzed and evaluated by combining entropy weighting method and grey correlation method. MethodHPLC was performed on an Agilent Eclipse Plus C18 column (4.6 mm×250 mm, 5 μm) with a gradient elution of methanol (A)-0.1% phosphoric acid aqueous solution as the mobile phase (0-12 min, 25%-33%A; 12-21 min, 33%-41%A; 21-30 min, 41%-42%A; 30-40 min, 42%-59%A; 40-53 min, 59%-72%A; 53-60 min, 72%A; 60-65 min, 72%-100%A; 65-70 min, 100%A; 70~71 min, 100%-25%A; 71-80 min, 25% A) at a flow rate of 1.0 mL·min-1, the injection volume was 10 μL and the detection wavelength was 330 nm. Fifty batches of Aurantii Fructus samples from different origins (Sichuan, Chongqing, Jiangxi and Hunan) were tested, and the similarity evaluation software is used to generate characteristic profiles and compare them with control profile for peak identification, and then to evaluate the similarity of the samples. IBM SPSS 19.0 and SIMCA 14.1 were used to perform multivariate statistical analysis on the results of the samples, and then the entropy weighting method and grey correlation were used to calculate the overall quality score of samples from Sichuan. ResultHPLC specific chromatogram of Aurantii Fructus was established, and 14 common peaks were identified as eriocitrin, neoeriocitrin, narirutin, naringin, hesperidin, neohesperidin, meranzin hydrate, poncirin, meranzin, marmin, nobiletin, 3,3′,4′,5,6,7,8-heptamethoxyflavone, tangeretin and auraptene. And the similarities between the samples from Sichuan and the control chromatogram were all above 0.980. The samples could be classified into four categories according to their main origins by chemical pattern recognition, and the results of cluster analysis, principal component analysis and orthogonal partial least squares-discriminant analysis were all able to discriminate the samples of different main origins effectively. The comprehensive evaluation results of entropy weighting method combined with grey correlation showed that the quality of Aurantii Fructus from Sichuan varied greatly among different origins, and the quality of Aurantii Fructus from Sichuan was ranked as Bazhong>Luzhou>Chongqing>Neijiang. ConclusionIn this study, the characteristic mapping of Aurantii Fructus from Sichuan is established, and combined with the analytical methods of chemometrics and grey correlation, the quality of samples from different origins can be effectively differentiated, which can provide a reference for the comprehensive evaluation and control of the quality of Aurantii Fructus from Sichuan.
