A method for determining volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted from medical molecular sieve oxygen concentrators was developed using thermal desorption-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (TD-GC-MS). The oxygen concentrator gas was sampled at a flow rate of 0.5 L/min through a branched sampling system onto Tenax GR/carbopack B adsorption tubes. The adsorbed compounds were desorbed and introduced using a programmed temperature vaporization inlet system, followed by chromatographic separation on an SH-I-624Sil MS column. Four VOCs (BHT-Q, PTBP, BHT-quinol, and EHB) were detected in the medical oxygen concentrator using this method. Calibration curves for these compounds exhibited excellent linearity ( R 2>0.99) within the range of 3~100 ng. With a sampling volume of 20 L, the detection limit of the four VOCs ranged from 0.003 9 to 0.022 2 μg/m 3. Spike recovery rates for the four VOCs were between 95% and 115%, with relative standard deviations (RSDs) below 5% ( n=6). The method is simple, rapid, highly sensitive, and accurate, making it suitable for VOCs detection in medical molecular sieve oxygen concentrators.

2.Systematic review and Meta analysis of the effect of sleep on subsequent day physical activity among children and adolescents
Chinese Journal of School Health 2025;46(12):1781-1786
Objective:
To explore the effects of sleep on subsequent day physical activity (PA) in children and adolescents, so as to provide a reference for refining PA intervention strategies and further investigating their underlying mechanisms.
Methods:
Through searching databases including Web of Science Core Collection, PubMed, EBSCOhost, ScienceDirect, Cochrane Library, CNKI, Wanfang and VIP cross sectional, cohort and experimental studies on sleep and subsequent day PA among children and adolescents were identified, with the searching period spanning from database inception to June, 2025. Based on the characteristics of the included literature, two sleep variables[sleep duration (SD) and sleep efficiency (SE)] and three physical activity variables[moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA), light physical activity (LPA), and total physical activity (TPA)] were selected. The relationship between these two types of variables was analyzed for pooled effect sizes using Stata 17.0.
Results:
A total of 14 studies were included, with 64.3% published in 2018 or later, involving 11 361 children and adolescents from 17 countries. Meta analysis results showed that both SD ( ES=0.04, 95%CI =0.01-0.07) and SE ( ES=0.24, 95%CI =0.01-0.47) were positively correlated with subsequent day MVPA (both P <0.05). However, no statistically significant associations were found with LPA ( ES=-0.04, 95%CI =-0.13 to 0.06; ES=-0.02, 95%CI =-0.15 to 0.11) or TPA( ES=0.09, 95%CI =-0.02 to 0.20; ES=0.02, 95%CI = -0.03 to 0.06)(all P >0.05). Subgroup analysis revealed that in the "≤6 years" subgroup, SD and SE were positively correlated with TPA ( ES=0.22, 95%CI =0.09-0.35) and MVPA ( ES=1.19, 95%CI =1.06-1.32), respectively; in the "6-12 years" subgroup, SD was positively correlated with MVPA ( ES=0.05, 95%CI =0.02-0.08); in the "≥12 years" subgroup, SE was positively correlated with LPA ( ES=0.08, 95%CI =0.00-0.16), while SD was negatively correlated with LPA ( ES=-0.23, 95%CI = -0.31 to -0.16) (all P <0.05).
Conclusion
Adequate SD and good SE can effectively enhance subsequent day MVPA among children and adolescents, although these sleep effects vary by age group.

Objective:To study the application value of vacuum drainage technology in radioactive wastewater discharge system of hospitals, and provide theoretical basis and reference for relevant institutes to design or renovate their radioactive wastewater discharge systems. Methods:Based on the composition of vacuum drainage system and gravity drainage system, the differences in water consumption and other factors of different systems were theoretically evaluated. To take the radioactive wastewater discharge system in a hospital as a research example, the storable periods of the fixed decay pool were calculated by using the two different drainage techniques. Results:Compared with the traditional gravity drainage technology, the vacuum drainage technology could save a lot of water and significantly reduce wastewater discharge. The water consumption was 16% of that of ordinary toilets with gravity drainage. By using the vacuum drainage technology to reform the radioactive wastewater discharge system of the hospital under the same amount of diagnosis and treatment workload, the storable period of radioactive wastewater could be extended by nearly three times, from 92.5 d before the renovation to 297 d after the renovation, without increasing the capacity of the decay pool. After the transformation, the total activity and volumetric activity concentration of 131I when discharging wastewater from each decay tank could be reduced to 4 096 Bq and 0.17 Bq/L, respectively, and the volumetric activity concentration was much lower than the national emission requirements. Conclusions:Vacuum drainage can significantly reduce wastewater production, and is worth promoting and applying in nuclear medicine departments.
6.Predictive value of the ratio of mean platelet volume to platelet count for prognosis of acute myocardial infarction patients with slow blood flow during interventional surgery
Journal of Navy Medicine 2024;45(8):861-865
Objective To investigate the value of the ratio of mean platelet volume(MPV)to platelet count(PLT)in predicting slow flow and short-term prognosis in patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI)undergoing interventional surgery. Methods A total of 100 patients with AMI who were admitted to General Hospital of Eastern Theater Command of PLA from November 2018 to September 2022 were selected as research objects. All the patients underwent percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)after enrollment.According to the thrombolysis in myocardial infarction(TIMI)flow grade during the operation, the patients were divided into control group(TIMI grade 3,n=79)and slow flow group(TIMI grade 1-2,n=21).The patients were followed up for 30 days after discharge to collect the occurrence and time of major adverse cardiovascular event(MACE).The MPV/PLT value was compared between the two groups, and the effect and predictive value of MPV/PLT on the short-term prognosis of AMI patients were analyzed. Results MPV,MPV/PLT,CHA2DS2-VAsc score and sST-2 in the slow flow group were significantly higher than those in the control group(all P<0.05).The slow flow group had lower LVEF,shorter MACE-free survival time, and higher incidence of MACE than the control group(all P<0.05).Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve showed that MPV/PLT had higher value in predicting slow blood flow during PCI than PLT and MPV(both P<0.05),and the area under curve(AUC)was 0.91(95%CI:0.85-0.98).Binary logistic regression analysis showed that MPV/PLT was an independent risk factor for MACEs(OR=2.52,95%CI:1.38-5.07,P<0.01).Conclusion MPV/PLT is related to slow blood flow in AMI patients undergoing PCI.Dynamic monitoring of MPV/PLT can be used to predict the clinical prognosis of AMI patients.
