Objective:To evaluate the therapeutic effects of new dressings in conjunction with traditional methods for treating stress injuries in elderly patients.The goal is to provide a foundation for the clinical optimization of treatment strategies for this demographic.Methods:A total of 120 elderly patients with stress injuries sustained at home between March 2021 and February 2023 were randomly assigned to an observation group( n=60)and a control group( n=60).Patients in the control group received traditional treatment methods, while those in the observation group were treated with new dressings in conjunction with wet healing theory, building upon the traditional methods.The clinical efficacy of both groups was compared, focusing on the 14-day wound healing rate, 14-day total effective rate, healing time, and patient satisfaction. Results:After treatment, the 14-day healing rate for the observation group was 63.3%(38/60), compared to 41.7%(25/60)for the control group.This indicates that the healing rate in the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group( χ2=5.647, P<0.05).The total effective rate for the observation group was 98.3%(59/60)at 14 days, while the control group had a rate of 86.7%(52/60).Again, the total effective rate in the observation group surpassed that of the control group( χ2=4.342, P<0.05).No significant difference was observed in wound healing time between the two groups for patients with stage 1 stress injuries( P>0.05).For patients with stage 2 stress injuries, the wound healing time was(13.75±1.71)days in the observation group and(22.16±2.59)days in the control group, with the observation group demonstrating a significantly shorter healing time( t=-12.024, P<0.05).In patients with stage 3 and stage 4 stress injuries, the healing time was(16.17±1.47)days for the observation group and(25.12±2.91)days for the control group, also showing a significantly shorter duration in the observation group( t=-11.382, P<0.05).However, there was no significant difference in satisfaction scores between the two groups after treatment( P>0.05). Conclusions:The application of traditional methods, combined with a new dressing based on the concept of wet healing, demonstrates significant clinical effectiveness for elderly patients with stress injuries.This approach effectively shortens wound healing time and alleviates pain, warranting comprehensive clinical promotion.

Objective In order to determine the incidence and mortality of uterine body cancer in Gansu province in 2019,the epidemic characteristics and the change trend of incidence and death from 2010 to 2019 were analyzed.Methods The quality control qualified data in Gansu province tumor registration center were used,uterine body cancer in urban and rural,age-specific inci-dence(mortality),the China standardized rate by Chinese population,the World standardized rate by World population,cumulative rate,crude incidence(mortality),composition ratio and rank,average annual percentage change(AAPC)and other indicators were calculated.Results In 2019,uterine body cancer in Gansu province ranked the seventh in the incidence of female malignant tumors,with a crude incidence of 4.43/100,000,the China standardized incidence was 3.28/100,000,and the World standardized incidence was 3.19/100,000.In 2019,uterine body cancer in Gansu province ranked the sixth among the mortality of female malignant tumors,with the crude mortality of 0.56/100,000,the China standardized mortality was 0.36/100,000,and the World standardized mortality was 0.35/100,000.The peak of morbidity(mortality)was in the age range of 50 to 54 years old.From 2010 to 2019,the incidence of uterine body cancer in Gansu province showed an overall upward trend.The China standardized incidence was AAPC=4.34%(95%CI:1.60%-7.15%),with a statistically significant trend(P<0.05);The mortality of uterine body cancer showed a fluctuating pat-tern of first rising,then decreasing,and increasing again,showing an overall downward trend.The China standardized mortality was AAPC=-11.35%(95%CI:-26.77%-7.32%),and the trend was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The incidence(mortali-ty)in rural areas was higher than that in urban areas.Conclusion The overall incidence of uterine body cancer in Gansu province is on the rise,and the death is on the decline.However,mortality in rural areas is on the rise.It is recommended to vigorously promote women′s health science popularization and education throughout the province,strictly implement the comprehensive measures of"early detection,early diagnosis,early treatment",and focus on the prevention and control of women aged 50-54,especially strengthening the early diagnosis and treatment of uterine body cancer in rural areas.

Objective:To characterize the biological activity of fibroblasts on the surface of titanium alloy sheets with different ridge widths by investigating the effects of ridge widths on the adhesion, proliferation and differentiation of fibroblasts.Methods:Five groups of titanium sheets with ridge widths of 50 μm, 80 μm, 100 μm, 150 μm and 200 μm were prepared, with all the groove depths being 10 μm. The titanium sheets with no ridges were taken as a control group. After fibroblasts were incubated on the sheets, states of their adhesion were observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) at different time points. CCK-8 cell proliferation test and immunofluorescence staining were used to observe proliferation and shape of the cells. The effects of ridge widths on adhesion of fibroblasts were evaluated by Vinculin immunofluorescence staining, and the effects of ridge widths on expression of α-smooth muscle actin ( α-SMA) by immunofluorescence. Results:SEM showed that the cells adhered to the ridges on the titanium sheets 48 hours after inoculation. In the groups with smaller ridge widths (from 50 μm to 150 μm), the cells were slender in shape and grew along the ridge direction. CCK-8 indicated that different ridge widths had no significant effect on the proliferation of fibroblasts between the 6 groups ( P>0.05). Immunofluorescence staining showed that the cells arranged in an orderly direction along the ridges; the long axis of the cells in the 50 μm group showed the best consistency with the extending direction of the ridge, with significant differences among the 6 groups ( P<0.05). The Vinculin test found that the secretion of cell adhesion protein was concentrated in the ridge and semi-quantitative analysis showed that the 50 μm group had the most Vinculin secretion, with significant differences among the 6 groups ( P<0.05). The α-SMA test showed that the ridge width had a regulatory effect on the myogenic differentiation of fibroblasts, and the 50 μm group had the strongest expression of α-SMA, with significant differences among the 6 groups ( P<0.05). Conclusions:Modification of ridges on the surface of titanium sheets may affect arrangement, adhesion and myogenic differentiation of fibroblasts. The ridges of 50 μm in width may lead to stronger polarized arrangement of fibroblasts, more secretion of adhesion-related protein and more pronounced myogenic differentiation of fibroblasts.

Objective To systematically evaluate the biomechanical recovery of drilled holes in the femur in SD rats.Methods Eighteen female SD rats were randomized into 3 even groups (n =6).Models of 2-mm drilled holes in bilateral femurs were established in groups A and B with 2 holes on each side while no drilling was performed in group C.Samples were harvested in group A at postoperative 4 weeks,in group B at postoperative 8 weeks while at both 4 and 8 weeks in group C.The samples were evaluated in terms of linear elasticity (compression test),viscoelasticity (relaxation and creep tests) and durability (fatigue failure test).Micro-CT scan was performed to measure the bone volume fraction (BV/TV) and bone mineral density (BMD) of new bone.Sirus red staining was performed to measure regeneration of type Ⅰ collagen of new bone.Results The elasticity modulus,maximum load,compression strength and conditional yield limit in groups A were significantly lower than those in group B which were also significantly lower than those in group C (P ＜ 0.05).At 7,200 s,the relaxation (14.56 ±0.69 MPa) and creep variation (11.37％ ± 0.70％) in group A were significantly higher than those in group B (11.06 0.63 MPa and 8.98％ ± 0.40％) which were also significantly higher than those in group C (6.99 ±0.56 MPa and 5.10％ ±0.23％) (P ＜ 0.05).At the constant amplitude loads from 20 N to 200 N,from 20 N to 300 N and from 20 N to 400 N,the recycling numbers in group A (6,044.3 ±879.7,4,093.3 ±628.5 and 1,919.3 ±847.5) were significantly lower than those in group B (10,192.3 ± 1,109.1,6,750.6 ± 818.0 and 3,376.6 ± 671.3) which were also significantly lower than those in group C (28,068.3 ±2,702.6,11,788.3 ± 1,141.6 and 5,296.3 ± 735.0) (P ＜ 0.05).By micro-CT scan,the BVT and BMD in group A were significantly lower than those in group B which were also significantly lower than those in group C (P ＜ 0.05).The sirus red staining showed the type Ⅰ collagen in the bone defect area was completely regenerated in group B.Conclusion Systematic biomechanical measurements may actually detect the characteristics of biomechanical recovery of bone holes in SD rats,enriching the basic research on the bone damage repairing progress.

Objective To prepare biphasic calcium phosphate/polyvinyl alcohol scaffolds by 3D printing at room temperature and explore the effect of 3D scaffolds on in vitro osteogenic differentiation of the bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs).Methods After biphasic calcium phosphate and polyvinyl alcohol solutions were mixed,the biphasic calcium phosphate/polyvinyl alcohol composite scaffolds were prepared by room temperature 3D printing combined with freeze drying technique.Non-printing scaffolds were prepared by injection molding.The surface microstructure,porosity,elastic modulus and hydrophilicity of the 2 sorts of scaffolds were measured.The cytological experiments were carried out in 3 groups (n =3):printed scaffold group,non-printed scaffold group and blank control group (no scaffold).After the BMSCs were seeded onto the scaffolds for 7 and 14 days,the 3 groups were compared in terms of cellular proliferation,alkaline phosphatase activity and expression levels of osteogenesis-related genes.Results 3D composite scaffolds with controllable pore size and porosity were prepared successfully,with an average porosity of 59.6％ ± 3.6％ and an average elastic modulus of 429.3 ± 54.3 kPa.After culture for 7 and 14 days,the cellular absorbance values in the printed scaffold group (0.987 ± 0.047 and 1.497 ± 0.076) were significantly higher than those in the non-printed scaffold group (0.767 ±0.063 and 1.181 ±0.098) (P ＜ 0.05) which were in turn significantly higher than those in the blank control group (0.532 ±0.046 and 0.895 ± 0.062) (P ＜ 0.05).After culture for 7 and 14 days,the ALP activity and expression levels of osteogenesis-related genes in the printed and non-printed scaffold groups showed no significant between-group differences (P ＞ 0.05),but were significantly higher than those in the blank control group (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions Tissue-engineered composite biphasic calcium phosphate/polyvinyl alcohol scaffolds with controllable pore size and good connectivity can be prepared by freeze-drying and room temperature 3D printing techniques.Co-culture of the scaffolds and BMSCs in vitro promotes adhesion,proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of the cells.

Objective To compare the effectiveness of expandable intramedullary nail(EIMN) versus locked compression plate (LCP) in the treatment of humeral shaft fractures of AO types A and B.Methods The clinical data were retrospectively analyzed and compared of the 44 humeral shaft fractures which had been treated between May 2012 and February 2016.There were 26 men and 18 women,from 23 to 66 years of age (average,41.5 years).By AO classification,22 cases were type 12-A and 22 type 12-B.EINM was used in 22 patients with an average age of 41.3 ± 1 1.7 years and LCP in 22 ones with an average age of 41.6 ± 10.3 years.The 2 groups were compared in terms of intraoperative blood loss,operative time,hospital stay,union time,union rate,Constant and Mayo scores at the final follow-ups,and complications as well.Results The 2 groups were compatible without significant differences in the preoperative demographic data (P ＞ 0.05).All the 44 patients were followed up for 10 to 18 months (average,12 months).The intraoperative blood loss (76.4 ± 18.66 mL),operative time (69.1 ± 13.2 min),incision length (5.8 ± 1.5 cm) and union time (13.2 ± 8.4 w) in the EIMN group were significantly better than those in the LCP group (138.6 ± 39.4 mL,96.4 ± 14.2 min,8.5 ± 1.4 cm and 18.4 ± 6.6 w,respectively) (P ＜ 0.05).There was also a significant difference between the 2 groups in the total complication rate[18.2％ (4/22) versus 50.0％ (11/22)] (P ＜0.05).No deep infection or should pain was observed in either group.Conclusions Inthe treatment of humeral shaft fractures of AO types 42-A and 42-B,compared with LCP,EIMN may have advantages of less intraoperative blood loss,operative time,union time and complications.The 2 methods are similar in hospital stay and final functional recovery of the should joint.

Objective To prepare a bionic artificial bone scaffold using a room temperature three dimensional (3D) printing technique and evaluate its biocompatibility and bioactivity in vitro.Methods A room temperature 3D printing technique was applied to fabricate 3D bionic artificial bone scaffolds using collagen/hydroxyapatite.The physico-chemical structure,porosity and mechanical strength of the scaffolds were assessed.The extract liquid of scaffolds was cocultured with bone mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) to evaluate the toxicity of scaffolds.There were 3 experimental groups:blank control with no scaffolds,printed scaffolds group and non-printed scaffolds group.The condition of BMSCs on the scaffolds was observed via scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and immunostaining.3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2-H-tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay and SEM were applied to monitor the proliferation of BMSCs on the scaffolds.At last,alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity and mRNA expression levels of osteogenesis-related genes were detected to assess the osteoinductive property of the scaffolds.Results The 3D printed scaffolds fabricated in the present study were characterized by highly interconnected pores which were controllable and even in size.The cross section of the scaffolds presented an irregular honeycomb-like microstructure.The porosity of printed 3D scaffolds (71.14％ ± 2.24％) was significantly higher than that of non-printed scaffolds (59.04％ ±2.98％) (P ＜ 0.05).The physico-chemical structures of the materials were preserved after printing without additional cytotoxicity.The MTT results at 7 and 14 days revealed that the printed scaffolds had a significantly more cell numbers than the non-printed scaffolds(P ＜ 0.05).SEM showed that the BMSCs adhered well onto the printed scaffolds and proliferated and migrated through the pores.Compared with the blank control,the printed scaffolds showed obviously better osteogenic outcomes.Conclusion The 3D bionic artificial bone scaffolds of collagen/hydroxyapatite manufactured by a room temperature 3D printing technique can provide a good extracellular matrix for BMSCs to proliferate and differentiate.

Objective To evaluate the curative effect of polyscope modular flexible ureteroscope combined with Holmium laser lithotrip-sy in the treatment of renal calculi. Methods 53 patients with renal calculi were performed CTU to detect the position of renal calculi before operation. The patients were treated with polyscope modular flexible ureteroscope combined with Holmium laser, and the double J tube were routinely indwelled 4 to 12 weeks after surgery. Results All the 52 patients has successfully completed the operation in the frist stage. The mean operative time was about 38 minutes. 6 patients were treated with flexible ureteroscope for second stage operation. One week after oper-ation, the review showed that there were residual calculi existed in 24 cases and there were 56 cases of post-operative infection, including 17 cases of sepsis or sepsis shock. Conclusion Polyscope modular flexible ureteroscope can be used for all kinds of kidney stones surgery and is characterized by safety and mild tissue injury. But we should pay more attention to the post-operative infection especially urosepsis.

Objective: To study relative risk factors for diabetic nephropathy (DN). Methods: A total of 238 patients diagnosed as type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) were enrolled in the study. According to urine microalbuminuria to urine creatinine ratio (UACR), patients were divided into pure DM group (group DM1, n=90), early diabetic nephropathy group (group DM2 , n=73) and clinical diabetic nephropathy group (group DM3 ,n=75). Clinic data of all patients were collected; Fasting blood glucose (FBG), 2h postprandial blood glucose (2hPB), blood lipids, uric acid (UA), fibrinogen (Fg) and glycosylated haemoglobin (HbA1c) were measured in all patients, and their correlations with DN were analyzed. Results: Compared with group DM1, the course of disease in DM [(7.25±6.29) years vs. (10.25±7.67) years vs. (13.53±7.82) years], levels of FBG [(8.46±2.52) mmol/L vs. (9.52±3.38) mmol/L vs. (10.82±3.30) mmol/L], 2hPB [(18.40±5.64) mmol/L vs. (20.27±5.94) mmol/L vs. (22.59±6.14) mmol/L], HbA1c [(7.96±1.65) % vs. (8.60±1.76) % vs. (9.55±2.09) %], triglyceride [TG, (1.72±0.86) mmol/L vs. (2.34±1.87) mmol/L vs. (3.16±1.85) mmol/L], Fg [(3.49±0.93) g/L vs. (3.88±1.21) g/L vs. (4.99±2.10) g/L] and UA [(295.42±52.34) μmol/L vs. (324.18±96.29) μmol/L vs. (351.23±56.88) μmol/L] significantly increased in group DM2 and group DM3 in order (P<0.01~0.001). Logistic gradual regression analysis indicated that course of DM, HbA1c, TG, Fg and UA were risk factors for DN (OR=1.008~1.910, P<0.01~0.001). Conclusion: The course of DM, blood glucose, blood lipid, uric acid and fibrinogen are risk factors of diabetic nephropathy; increased UACR reflects progress of patient’ condition in DM patients, its detection is used for diabetic prognosis and treatment.

Objective To observe the influences of VEGF transfection on the proliferation and ultrastructure of hBMSCs. Methods Three groups were enrolled in the experiment: group of Ad-VEGF transfection, group of empty Ad transfection, and the control group. Cells were observed continually by inverted phase contrast microscope, and stained by HE. Proliferation of cells was tested by MTT and by flow cytometry analysis. Results Histological observation and observation through inverted phase contrast microscope showed that the cells were of the similar morphology in the 3 groups. As time elapsed, the amount of cells increased, but still no obvious differences were found in optical density (OD) value of hBMSCs.Groups B, C, A had a similar percentage of DNA G1 period and a similar proliferation index (PrI) ( P >0. 05). Conclusion Transfeetion of VEGF has no obvious influence on the prohferation and morphologyof hBMSCs in vitro.
