BackgroundThe middle school stage represents a crucial period for the development of borderline personality features. Negative parenting styles and emotional regulation strategies are associated with the formation of borderline personality features. However, the moderating role of emotional regulation strategies between negative parenting styles and borderline personality features among middle school students remains unclear. ObjectiveTo explore the moderating influence of emotional regulation strategies in the relationship between negative parenting styles and borderline personality features among middle school students, and to provide references for the intervention of borderline personality features. MethodsIn October 2023, a total of 5 965 middle school students from three middle schools in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were selected by cluster sampling, and assessed by the Borderline Personality Features Scale for Children (BPFS-C), the Egna Minnen Barndoms Uppfostran (EMBU), and the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire-Chinese Revised Version (ERQ-CRV). Pearson correlation analysis was used to test the correlation between the scores of each scale, and the model 1 of the Process macro program was used to conduct the moderating effect test. ResultsA total of 5 572 middle school students (93.41%) completed this study, and 1 388 of them (24.91%) were identified as having high borderline personality features. The BPFS-C score of middle school students was positively correlated with the score of the negative parenting style dimension of EMBU (r=0.367, P<0.01), negatively correlated with the score of the cognitive reappraisal dimension of ERQ-CRV (r=-0.168, P<0.01), and positively correlated with the score of the expression inhibition dimension of ERQ-CRV (r=0.344, P<0.01). Cognitive reappraisal played a negative moderating effect between negative parenting styles and borderline personality features (β=-0.072, 95% CI: -0.104–-0.041, P<0.01), while expressive suppression played a positive moderating effect (β=0.076, 95% CI: 0.055–0.097, P<0.01). ConclusionCognitive reappraisal strategy may help mitigate the negative influence of negative parenting styles on middle school students' borderline personality features, while expressive suppression may exacerbate the harm of negative parenting styles to the borderline personality features of middle school students.

Objective:To validate the effectiveness of the leaf position data of multi-leaf collimator (MLC) recorded in the Infinity medical linear accelerator log file (LF).Methods:In this study, the establishment of the film dose calibration curve involved two steps. Initially, the pixel values obtained from scanning the film were converted into net optical density values. Subsequently, a sixth-order polynomial fit was performed on the net optical density and dose data. The picket fence (PF) tests were performed on the electronic portal imaging device (EPID) and film, and the corresponding acquired PF test images were analyzed using the relative leaf travel distance, relative leaf position, relative leaf pair full-width half -maximum (FWHM), and relative leaf pair neighbor region width analysis index, and compared with the relevant results in LF. In addition, to investigate the effect of gravity on the recorded leaf position data by the Infinity medical linear accelerator LF, the above PF tests were executed at 0°, 90°, 180°, and 270° gantry angles, respectively. Intergroup differences were assessed with the Wilcoxon rank-sum test. Results:The film dose calibration curve demonstrated high goodness-of-fit, with a correlation coefficient ( R2) of 0.9994. Across all gantry angles, the dispersion of overall leaf position data for EBT3 film, EPID, and LF followed a consistent pattern based on four analysis metrics: EBT3 film > EPID > LF. Moreover, for each analysis metric, inter-tool differences in standard deviations of results were consistently below 0.1 mm, and this pattern was invariant to gantry angle. Conclusions:The leaf position data recorded in the Infinity medical linear accelerator LF have a high degree of accuracy, and can be used as reference for the actual position of the MLC leaf. Furthermore, gravitational forces exhibit negligible impact on leaf position data acquired via LF.

Objective:To assess cognitive impairment in children with obstructive sleep-disordered breathing (OSDB) using event-related potentials (ERPs).Methods:This case-control study analyzed data from 143 OSDB children[94 males, 49 females, aged 9.0(7.0-11.0) years] scheduled for adenotonsillectomy at the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital, Tsinghua University, between June 2023 and September 2024, along with 17 healthy controls [control group: 10 males, 7 females, aged 10.0 (7.5-12.0) years]. Based on polysomnography results, OSDB children were divided into a mild group [obstructive apnea-hypopnea index (OAHI)≤5 events/hour, 49 males, 29 females, aged 9.0 (7.0-10.0) years] and a moderate-to-severe group [OAHI>5 events/hour, 45 males, 20 females, aged 9.0 (8.0-10.0) years]. All children completed a face perception integration task. The occipital P100 and parietal, central and frontal P300 components of incomplete face stimuli (S1) and complete face stimuli (S2) were recorded. Amplitude and latency differences across groups were analyzed. Intergroup comparisons were performed using ANOVA, while independent samples t-tests were used for pairwise comparisons. Non-normally distributed data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test. Results:(1) P100: Both the mild group [occipital P100 amplitude: O1-S1(12.44±5.96) μV, O2-S1(14.19±6.39) μV, O2-S2(30.34±11.30) μV] and moderate-to-severe group [O1-S1 (12.12±5.58) μV, O2-S1 (14.08±5.48) μV, O2-S2(29.12±10.89) μV] showed significantly higher amplitudes than the control group [O1-S1(8.46±4.74) μV,O2-S1(9.68±3.70) μV,O2-S2(23.09±9.16) μV] ( F=3.501, 4.486, 3.072; all P<0.05). No significant differences were found between the two OSDB subgroups ( P>0.05), suggesting compensatory neuronal hyperactivity maintaining normal perceptual function. The moderate-to-severe group exhibited significantly prolonged P100 latency [O2-S1 (134.52±13.42) ms] compared to controls [O2-S1 (125.18±15.31) ms] ( F=3.156 , P<0.05), while no significant difference was observed between the mild group and either the control or moderate-to-severe groups ( P>0.05), indicating delayed visual processing in severely affected children. (2) P300: The mild group exhibited significantly higher P300 amplitudes in parietal regions [P4-S1(8.22±4.32) μV, P4-S2(17.67±9.42) μV] compared to controls [P4-S1 (4.84±2.89) μV, P4-S2 (13.19±7.23) μV] ( F=7.19, 4.771; both P<0.05), whereas no significant differences were observed between the moderate-to-severe group and either the control or mild groups ( P>0.05), indicating mild group reduced alertness. The latency of P300 in the central region showed an increase in the mild group, although not significantly ( P>0.05), indicating a potential decrease in attentional response speed. However, the moderate-to-severe group demonstrated significantly shorter P300 latencies [CZ-S1(394.18±89.12) ms] compared to the mild group [CZ-S1 (433.33±100.33) ms] ( F=3.145, P<0.05), possibly reflecting compensatory enhancement of attentional engagement in more severe cases. Conclusion:Children with OSDB exhibit impairments in primary visual processing and attentional regulation, as evidenced by altered ERP components such as P100 and P300. These findings suggest that OSDB may affect neural mechanisms underlying sensory integration and executive functioning.

Acute lateral ankle sprain (ALAS) is one of the most common sport injuries, with high incidence, recurrence and disability rates. Currently, exercise rehabilitation-based non-surgical treatment is the primary management approach for ALAS. However, there remain improper practices such as excessive immobilization or uncontrolled activity, which contribute to recurrent sprains and chronic ankle instability, significantly impairing patients′ athletic function and quality of life. To standardize the non-surgical management of ALAS, improve the cure rates, and reduce the recurrence and disability rates, Chinese Sports Rehabilitation Medicine Training Project of Chinese Medical Association, Foot and Ankle Basics and Orthopedics Group, Orthopedic Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, and Sports Medicine Branch of Jiangsu Medical Association organized relevant experts to formulate Expert consensus on non-surgical treatment for acute lateral ankle sprain ( version 2025), following the principles of scientific vigor, practicality, and innovation. Thirteen recommendations were proposed for standardized treatment protocols across different healing phases, aiming to provide references for standard management of ALAS and improve the therapeutic outcomes.

Objective To compare the safety and effectiveness of two different flow diverter devices between Tubridge flow diverter(TFD)and Surpass Streamline flow diverter(SFD)in the treatment of unruptured intracranial aneurysms. Methods A retrospective analysis from August 2020 to December 2023 was performed on the clinical data of 62 cases of unruptured aneurysms in the Department of Interventional Radiology(Shinan Branch),the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University treated with flow diverter.According to the type of implanted stents, they were divided into TFD group(32 cases)and SFD group(30 cases),general information about patients was collected, including age, sex, and past history(hypertension, diabetes, coronary heart disease),hospitalization time, surgical time(anesthesia start to anesthesia awakening time)and aneurysm location(anterior circulation, posterior circulation),type(giant aneurysm:maximum diameter ≥ 25 mm,large aneurysm:maximum diameter 15-<25 mm,medium aneurysm:maximum diameter 5-<15 mm,small aneurysm:maximum diameter<5 mm),aneurysm morphology(saccular aneurysm, simple fusiform aneurysm, dissecting aneurysm),aneurysm maximum diameter, aneurysm neck, parent artery diameter, aneurysm wall enhancement in preoperative high-resolution MRI scan.Different types of flow diverters were selected according to the results of Surpass intracranial aneurysm embolization system pivotal trial to treat large or giant wide neck aneurysms(SCENT)and intracranial aneurysms managed by parent artery reconstruction using Tubridge flow diverter study(IMPACT).If"ejection sign"was found at the aneurysm neck on angiography immediately after the release of flow diverters, appropriate amount of coils were packed.Tamponade until there is no contrast filling in the aneurysm body on cerebral angiography,at which time the operation is terminated. If there is no"ejection sign"immediately after the release of the flow diverter, the procedure is terminated.Angiography was performed immediately after operation to evaluate the parent artery stenosis(patency[stenosis rate ≤50%],stenosis[stenosis rate>50%]or occlusion[stenosis rate 100%])degree of aneurysm occlusion.O'Kelly-Marotta(OKM)classification was used to evaluate the degree of aneurysm occlusion.Effectiveness evaluation:DS A follow-up was performed≥1 month after operation, and the final angiographic result was taken as the final follow-up result to evaluate the postoperative aneurysm occlusion(OKM grade D:complete aneurysm occlusion, other grades:incomplete aneurysm occlusion),parent artery stenosis or occlusion.Safety evaluation:the clinical efficacy of patients at the last postoperative follow-up was evaluated by modified Rankin scale(mRS)score(mRS score 0-2:good clinical prognosis,mRS score 3-6:poor clinical prognosis),and perioperative(≤2 weeks after surgery)complications(ischemic complications, bleeding complications and other complications)were counted. The clinical effects and complications of the two groups were compared. Results A total of 62 aneurysms in 62 patients were included in the study. All patients were treated with a single flow diversion device. There were 28 males and 34females,aged 32 years to 76 years, with an average of(57±10)years.There were 39 anterior circulation aneurysms and 23 posterior circulation aneurysms.Among 62 patients,43 patients had saccular aneurysm,4 patients had simple fusiform aneurysm and 15 had dissecting aneurysm.Among them,38 saccular aneurysms were located in the anterior circulation and 5 in the posterior circulation;1 simple fusiform aneurysm was located in the anterior circulation and 3 in the posterior circulation;all dissecting aneurysms were located in the posterior circulation. The maximum diameter of the aneurysm ranged from 2.0 mm to 27.0 mm,with a median of 7.0(5.0,12.0)mm,and the aneurysm neck ranged from 2.0 mm to 18.5 mm,with a median of 5.0(4.0,6.7)mm.(1)There were statistically significant differences in aneurysm location and shape distribution between TFD group and SFD group(both P<0.05),but there were no statistically significant differences in other general data(all P>0.05).(2)The incidence of perioperative complications was 6.3%(2/32)in TFD group and 10.0%(3/30)in SFD group, and there was no significant difference between two groups(P=0.940).The good clinical outcome rate of both groups were 100.0%at the last follow-up.(3)All patients were followed up with DS A after operation. The follow-up time ranged from 55 d to 1 150 d,with a median follow-up time of 205.0(108.0,360.0)d.There was no significant difference in OKM classification distribution immediately after operation(P=0.607)and complete occlusion rate at the last follow-up(53.1%[17/32]vs.63.3%[19/30],P=0.416)between two groups. At the last follow-up,no parent artery stenosis or occlusion occurred in either group. Conclusions TFD has comparable efficacy and safety as SFD in the treatment of unruptured intracranial aneurysms. The results of this study need to be further verified by prospective large sample study.
