Chinese Journal of School Health 2026;47(1):27-31
Objective:
To investigate the factors influencing the co-prevalence of allergic rhinitis and obesity among primary and secondary school students in Inner Mongolia, so as to provide a data foundation and theoretical basis for developing targeted intervention measures.
Methods:
In September and October 2024, a stratified cluster random sampling method was employed to select 139 102 students from 539 schools across 12 leagues/cities and 103 banners/counties in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Participants who were diagnosed with allergic rhinitis by a doctor at least once within one year and had a body mass index ≥ 28 kg/m 2 were considered to have comorbid conditions.
Results:
The coprevalence rate of allergic rhinitis and obesity among primary and secondary school students in Inner Mongolia was 6.4% (8 931 cases). Lasso-Logistic regression revealed that nonboarding status, higher maternal education, consuming high protein foods ≥1 time daily, occasionally or never eating breakfast, engaging in moderate to vigorous physical activity for ≥60 minutes on fewer than half of holidays, and having been exposed to second hand smoke in person within the past seven days were associated with higher odds ratios for co-prevalence of allergic rhinitis and obesity( OR = 1.23 , 1.22-1.63, 1.20, 1.19, 1.38, 1.35); being female, higher grade level, residence in flag/county/district areas, non only child status, never having consumed a full glass of alcohol, non hypertensive status, and households without pets were associated with lower co-prevalence risks ( OR =0.65, 0.67-0.77, 0.81, 0.87, 0.73, 0.41, 0.68) (all P <0.05). The ROC curve indicated an area under the curve of 0.64 for the predictive model, demonstrating satisfactory discriminatory ability. The calibration curve showed consistency between predicted and actual occurrence probabilities.
Conclusions
The co-prevalence of allergic rhinitis and obesity among primary and secondary school students in Inner Mongolia is closely associated with demographic characteristics, dietary behaviours, and lifestyle habits. Future prevention and control strategies should prioritize these factors to implement targeted interventions.

Objective :
To investigate the effects of sinapine on lung tissue inflammation and mucus hypersecretion in asthmatic mice.
Methods:
Eight-week-old female C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into Control group, ovalbumin(OVA) group, Sinapine group, and Sinapine+OVA group. The asthmatic mice model were established by intraperitoneal injection of OVA combined with aluminum hydroxide [Al(OH)3] suspension and OVA nasal stimulation. One hour before OVA nasal stimulation, the mice in Sinapine+OVA group and Sinapine group were intraperitoneally injected with sinapine solution, and the mice in OVA group and Control group were treated with the same dose of 0.9% sodium chloride solution. 24 hours after the last OVA stimulation, the inflammation of lung tissue of mice were observed by HE staining; the mucus secretion were evaluated by PAS staining; the mRNA expression levels of Interleukin-4(IL-4), Interleukin-5(IL-5), Interleukin-13(IL-13), tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α), Mucin 5ac(Muc5ac), and the mRNA of the key genes of Notch pathway such as Notch receptor 1(Notch1), Notch receptor 2(Notch2), Notch receptor 3(Notch3), and hes family bHLH transcription factor 1(Hes1) in lung tissues were detected by real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR(RT-qPCR); the expression levels of Notch1, Notch2, Notch3 and Hes1 proteins were determined by Western blot.
Results :
Compared with Control group, the inflammation score and PAS score of lung tissues of mice in OVA group increased(P<0.001); the mRNA expression levels of IL-4, IL-5, IL-13, TNF-α, and Muc5ac of mice in OVA group were enhanced(P<0.05); the mRNA and protein expression levels of Notch2, Notch3, and Hes1 of mice in OVA group significantly increased(P<0.001), while there was no significant difference in the mRNA and protein expression levels of Notch1. Compared with OVA group, the inflammation score and PAS score of lung tissues of mice in Sinapine+OVA group decreased(P<0.001); the mRNA expression levels of IL-4, IL-5, IL-13, TNF-α, and Muc5ac of mice in Sinapine+OVA group were reduced(P<0.05); the mRNA and protein expression levels of Notch2, Notch3, and Hes1 of mice in Sinapine+OVA group were downregulated(P<0.05), while there was no significant difference in the mRNA and protein expression levels of Notch1.
Conclusion
Sinapine can alleviate the lung tissue inflammation and mucus hypersecretion in asthmatic mice, and its mechanism may be related to the inhibition of Notch2/Notch3-Hes1 signal pathway.

Recent Advances in Ophthalmology 2025;45(2):135-139
Objective To investigate the effects of time in range(TIR)and microRNA-2245P(miR-2245P)interac-tions on the susceptibility and severity of diabetic retinopathy(DR)in the target range of glucose. Methods A prospec-tive study was conducted on 259 patients with DR(DR group)and 259 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM group)admitted to the Ophthalmology Department of Yantai Yeda Hospital from April 2022 to June 2024.TIR and miR-2245P were compared between the two groups, and the multivariate Logistic analysis was used to identify the factors associated with DR susceptibility. The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was used to evaluate the predictive value of TIR,miR-2245 P,and their combination for DR.The interaction coefficient γ was used to analyze the effect of the interaction between TIR and miR-2245P on DR susceptibility. The Spearman correlation analysis was used to evaluate the correlation of TIR and miR-2245P with DR staging. Results The TIR and miR-2245P levels in the DR group were lower than those in the T2DM group(both P<0.05).The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that Logit(P)=0.083-0.470 × TIR-0.584 × miR-2245P,high levels of TIR and miR-2245P were independent protective factors of DR susceptibility(all P<0.05).The areas under the ROC curve(AUC)of TIR,miR-2245P,and their combination for predicting DR were 0.76,0.79,and 0.91,respectively.The AUC of TIR combined with miR-2245P was greater than that of TIR and miR-2245P(both P<0.05).The interaction analysis showed that the OR values of DR caused by low levels of TIR and miR-2245P alone were 2.05 and 1.92,respectively.The OR value of the interaction between TIR and miR-2245P was 10.69,greater than the prod-uct of OR values of TIR and miR-2245P alone. It indicates that the effect of the interaction of TIR and miR-2245P on suscep-tibility to DR is a super-multiplication model. The interaction coefficient was γ=3.31>1,indicating a positive relationship of the interaction between the two factors with DR susceptibility. The Spearman correlation analysis showed that TIR and miR-2245P were negatively correlated with DR staging(both P<0.001).Conclusion Both TIR and miR-2245P are asso-ciated with DR and its severity, and they have interactive effects on DR susceptibility.Combined detection can improve the predictive value of DR.This study provides a new idea and target for the prevention and treatment of DR.
9.Analysis of risk factors of early allograft dysfunction after deceased donor liver transplantation in children
Chinese Journal of Organ Transplantation 2025;46(2):141-149
Objective:To investigate the risk factors for early allograft dysfunction (EAD) following deceased donor liver transplantation in pediatric recipients.Method:A retrospective analysis was conducted on 390 pediatric liver transplant recipients who underwent deceased donor liver transplantation at Tianjin First Central Hospital between January 1, 2018, and December 31, 2023. Patients were categorized into the EAD group (152 cases) and the non-EAD group (238 cases) based on the presence or absence of EAD. Patient and graft survival rates were compared between the two groups. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to identify independent risk factors for EAD. A nomogram was constructed and validated using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves to assess predictive performance.Result:Among the 390 pediatric liver transplant recipients, 152 cases (38.97%) developed EAD. Postoperative intensive care unit (ICU) stay and duration of ventilatory support were significantly longer in the EAD group compared to the non-EAD group ( P<0.05). The 1-month (90.8% vs. 97.1%) and 3-month (90.7% vs. 95.4%) cumulative graft survival rates were significantly lower in the EAD group than in the non-EAD group ( χ2=4.36, P=0.037). However, the 1-month (93.4% vs. 97.9%) and 3-month (92.8% vs. 96.6%) cumulative recipient survival rates showed no statistically significant difference between the two groups ( χ2=3.15, P=0.076). Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified recipient weight ( P=0.0091), preoperative blood lactate level ( P=0.0065), donor age ( P=0.0434), operative duration ( P<0.01), cold ischemia time ( P<0.01), and portal venous flow (PVF) before abdominal closure ( P=0.0241) as independent risk factors for EAD. The combination of these factors demonstrated good predictive performance for EAD, with an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.75 (95% CI: 0.70~0.80, P<0.05) . Conclusion:Recipient weight, preoperative blood lactate levels, donor age, operative duration, cold ischemia time, and PVF before abdominal closure are significantly associated with the development of EAD in pediatric recipients undergoing deceased donor liver transplantation. Optimizing preoperative donor and recipient assessment, as well as refining surgical procedures, may help reduce the incidence of EAD and improve post-transplant outcomes.
