Peri-implant keratinized mucosa (PIKM) augmentation refers to surgical procedures aimed at increasing the width of PIKM. Consensus reports emphasize the necessity of maintaining a minimum width of PIKM to ensure long-term peri-implant health. Currently, several surgical techniques have been validated for their effectiveness in increasing PIKM. However, the selection and application of PIKM augmentation methods may present challenges for dental practitioners due to heterogeneity in surgical techniques, variations in clinical scenarios, and anatomical differences. Therefore, clear guidelines and considerations for PIKM augmentation are needed. This expert consensus focuses on the commonly employed surgical techniques for PIKM augmentation and the factors influencing their selection at second-stage surgery. It aims to establish a standardized framework for assessing, planning, and executing PIKM augmentation procedures, with the goal of offering evidence-based guidance to enhance the predictability and success of PIKM augmentation.

Objective To investigate the correlation between preoperative N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptidogen(NT-proBNP)levels and early postoperative outcomes in elderly and critically ill pa-tients with hip fractures.Methods A total of 593 elderly and critically ill patients with hip fractures from January 2018 to April 2021 were selected,including 189 males and 404 females,aged≥65 years,BMI 12.0-35.5 kg/m2,ASA physical status Ⅱ-Ⅳ.General preoperative information,intraoperative and post-operative discharge outcomes of patients were retrospectively obtained by the electrical clinical medical record system or telephone follow-up.The receiver operator characteristic(ROC)curve of preoperative plas-ma NT-proBNP and postoperative 30-day death was plotted,and the corresponding optimal cut-off value was 1 765.0 pg/ml.According to NT-proBNP values,the patients were divided into two groups:low-ratio group(NT-proBNP≤1 765.0 pg/ml,group L,n = 463)and high-ratio group(NT-proBNP＞1 765.0 pg/ml,group H,n = 130).The correlation between different plasma concentrations of NT-proBNP before surgery and ICU length of stay,total length of stay,postoperative complications,and 30-day mortality rate were an-alyzed using univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis.Results Compared with group L,age,preoperative comorbidities with coronary heart disease,arrhythmia,chronic heart failure,lung disease,and chronic kidney disease,as well as mortality within 30 days after surgery were significantly increased in group H(P＜0.05).The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that high preoperative plasma NT-proBNP concentration was positive correlation with postoperative ICU length of stay(OR = 1.215,95%CI 1.073-1.375,P = 0.020)and 30-day mortality rate(OR = 32.696,95%CI 7.158-149.338,P＜0.001).Conclusion High preoperative plasma NT-proBNP concentration is positive correlation with postoperative ICU hospitalization timeand 30-day mortality.

Objective To explore the value of diffusion-tensor imaging(DTI)of different gray matter nuclei in the diagnosis and assessment of prodromal Parkinson's disease(pPD)under logistic regression model.Methods A total of 20 patients with pPD were collected as case group and 28 healthy people as control group(HC group).All patients were examined by MRI plain scan and DTI.DSI studio was used to post-process the DTI images of all patients.Parameters(FA,MD,AD,RD)of basal ganglia,midbrain and brainstem of patients with pPD and HC group were automatically extracted and statistically analyzed.Logistic regression analysis was used to draw the Receiver Operating Characteristic(ROC)curve to analyze and compare the diagnostic efficacy of individual diagnosis and combined diagnosis of each parameter.And the correlation between the parameters of each group and MMSE score was analyzed.Results There were statistical differences in basal ganglia,midbrain and brain stem in PPD and HC group(P<0.05).Under Logistic regression equation model,when the optimal threshold was 0.63,the AUC of PPD was 0.964.The sensitivity and specificity of differential diagnosis were 85.0%and 100%respectively(P<0.001).There was correlation between DTI parameters and MMSE score in locus coeruleus in PPD group(P<0.05),and the correlation coefficient of FA value in locus coeruleus(r =-0.646,P = 0.002)was the highest.Conclusions The lesions of basal ganglia,midbrain and brainstem correlated gray matter nuclei in pPD were extensive and differ-ent in degree.AD value of locus coeruleus was valuable for quantitative diagnosis of pPD,FA value of locus coeruleus could be used as a characteristic sensitive index for recognition of the severity of dysfunction in pPD patients.Multi-parameter combined diagnosis of DTI under Logistic regression model could effectively improve the diagnostic efficiency,and provide valuable reference for early diagnosis and intervention of pPD.

Objective:To observe and analyze the atypical magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings and misdiagnosis reasons of primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL), and to explore the value of conventional MRI signs combined with minimum apparent diffusion coefficient value (ADCmin) and imaging features of magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) in the diagnosis and differentiation of atypical PCNSL.Methods:The clinical and imaging data of 15 patients with atypical PCNSL confirmed by clinical and pathological findings from Lianyungang Second People′s Hospital and the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from January 2015 to December 2020 was collected. All cases were examined by plain MRI, enhanced and diffusion weighted imaging (DWI), and 3 cases were examined by MRS. The conventional MRI features, DWI signal features and MRS imaging features of 15 cases of atypical PCNSL were observed and analyzed, and the MRI findings of atypical PCNSL and the causes of misdiagnosis were summarized and analyzed. The ADCmin of tumor parenchyma, the mean ADC values of proximal peritumor, distal peritumor and contralateral white matter were detected and compared to explore the variation rules of ADC values in different regions.Results:Of the 15 cases of PCNSL, 14 cases were single and 1 case was multiple, with a total of 21 lesions. (1) Single lesions in rare sites: 4 cases in the superficial part of the brain, 1 case in the bridge arm, 1 case in the cerebellar hemisphere, 1 case in the suprasellar saddle, and 1 case in the third ventricle. (2) Atypical MRI findings: cystic degeneration or necrosis in 5 lesions (5/21), accompanied by hemorrhage in 1 lesion (1/21); There were 3 isosensitive lesions on DWI, and isosensitive lesions on ADC false color images. There were 5 ring enhancement lesions and 3 sheet enhancement lesions. (3) Multi-center growth pattern: 1 case with a total of 7 lesions, located in the right thalamus, basal ganglia and corona radiata, showing multiple nodules and ring enhancement. 1H-MRS examination showed that choline (Cho) peak increased, creatine (Cr) peak decreased, N-acetyl aspartate (NAA) peak decreased, and obvious Lip peak appeared in all the 3 cases with single lesions. 2 cases showed high Lip peak as the first peak. The ADCmin values of tumor parenchyma, proximal peritumor, distal peritumor and contralateral white matter showed a parabola pattern of first rise and then decline, as follows: (0.54±0.06)×10 -3 mm 2/s, (1.55±0.10)×10 -3 mm 2/s, (1.45±0.09)×10 -3 mm 2/s, (0.85±0.03)×10 -3 mm 2/s, overall difference was statistically significant ( F=630.570, P<0.001). The pairwise comparison was statistically significant (all P<0.05). Conclusions:Atypical PCNSL is easy to be misdiagnosed. Conventional MRI feature analysis combined with DWI and MRS imaging features and comparison of ADC values in different tumor areas are helpful for the diagnosis and differentiation of PCNSL and are expected to improve diagnostic accuracy.

Peritoneal adhesions are fibrous tissues that tether organs to one another or to the peritoneal wall and represent the major cause of postsurgical morbidity. Enterolysis at repeat surgeries induces adhesion reformation that is more difficult to prevent than primary adhesion. Here we studied the preventive effects of different approaches of berberine treatment for primary adhesion, and its effects on adhesion reformation compared to Interceed. We found the primary adhesion was remarkably prevented by berberine through intraperitoneal injection 30 min before abrasive surgery (pre-berberine) or direct addition into injured cecum immediately after the surgery (inter-berberine). Rats with adhesion reformation had a more deteriorative collagen accumulation and tissue injury in abrasive sites than rats with primary adhesion. The dysregulated TIMP-1/MMP balance was observed in patients after surgery, as well as adhesion tissues from primary adhesion or adhesion reformation rats. Inter-berberine treatment had a better effect for adhesion reformation prevention than Interceed. Berberine promoted the activation of MMP-3 and MMP-8 by directly blocking TIMP-1 activation core, which was reversed by TIMP-1 overexpression in fibroblasts. In conclusion, this study suggests berberine as a reasonable approach for preventing primary adhesion formation and adhesion reformation.

With the aging of the Chinese society and the population, the incidence of hip fractures in the elderly is increasing significantly. Elderly patients have various basic diseases and decreased organ compensatory capacity, which increase the risks related to surgery and anesthesia, increase the incidence of postoperative complications and mortality, and affect the recovery process of patients. Malnutrition is one of the main causes of hip fractures in elderly patients, and it is also a major factor predicting the prognosis of patients. Elderly patients with hip fractures are considered at high risk of malnutrition. Malnutrition can lead to adverse clinical outcomes, such as increased mortality and complications, prolonged hospital stays, and increased hospital costs. Elderly patients with hip fracture should be routinely screened for nutritional risk. Those with malnutrition or nutritional risk, should be given nutritional support treatment. And conduct assessments and optimizations of nutritional support treatmentby observing the prognosis indicators such as complication rate, mortality, and rehabilitation status. At present, orthopedic surgeons who are the main body of elderly hip fracture treatment do not pay enough attention to the nutritional status of patients. Many elderly hip fracture patients undergo surgery while their malnutrition status has not improved. Therefore, it is important to improve their prognosis that strengthen the perioperative nutritional management of elderly patients with hip fracture. Domestic research on the nutritional status of elderly hip fracture patients started late. Many medical institutions have not carried out routine nutritional screening and active nutritional support treatment for elderly hip fracture patients, and there is also a lack of relevant clinical research and data statistics in the nutritional support and treatment of elderly patients with hip fractures. This article describes the current research status of nutritional risk screening and nutritional support treatment for elderly patients with hip fracture at home and abroad. However, due to differences in ethnicity, lifestyle, religious culture, and eating habits in various regions, foreign research data may not be suitable for domestic patients. Therefore, this article provides a reference for the research on perioperative nutritional screening and nutritional treatment of elderly hip fracture patients, and establishes a nutritional management plan suitable for elderly hip fracture patients in China.

In this paper, the correlation between the chemical constituents of Chinese herbal medicines Daphnes Cortex and the ecological factors and soil factors was studied, which provided a reference for the selection of suitable areas for artificial cultivation of Daphne giraldii and wild tending. The geographic information system(GIS) was applied to obtain the ecological factor information of 23 collection sites of Daphnes Cortex, and the soil factor information was determined by the standard procedure in the soil test standard manual. Combining the information of 93 chemical constituents of Daphnes Cortex in 23 collection sites the correlation between components and ecological factors and soil factors was analyzed by statistical methods. The correlation analysis showed that the longitude, annual average rainfall, annual sunshine intensity, annual average temperature in the ecological factors, soil type, effective copper and pH value were the dominant factors affecting the chemical composition of Daphnes Cortex.

Objective To analyze the status of health literacy and its relationship with chronic diseases and self-reported health among residents in Qingdao, discuss the influence of health literacy on health status and provide the scientific basis for the development of health education strategies and measures. Methods The stratified multistage and probability proportionate to population size sampling(PPS sampling) method was adopted in this investigation. In 2017, a questionnaire survey was conducted among 16 700 permanent residents aged 15-69 from 10 districts in Qingdao. Results The overall level of health literacy status was 15.92%, the prevalence rate of chronic diseases was 19.31%, the self-reported health proportion of good, fair and poor were 81.68%, 12.12% and 1.71% among residents in Qingdao. Logistic regression analysis showed that, after adjusting for urban and rural areas, gender, age, education, income and occupation, health literacy was a protective factor for people with chronic diseases and self-evaluated health(OR=1.232，P=0.003;OR=1.159，P=0.033). Three aspects of health literacy were correlated with chronic diseases and self-reported health among people (all P<0.05). Conclusions Health literacy is positively correlated with the health status of residents. The improvement of health literacy is an important way to enhance the health status of residents.

Objective: To investigate the relationship between plasma level of pro-protein convertase subtilisin kexin type9 (PCSK9) and coronary artery calcification (CAC). Methods: A total of 380 consecutive chest pain patients without lipid-lowering therapy were enrolled. All patients received CT scan and coronary artery calcification (CAC) score measurement and were divided into 2 groups: CAC group, n=156 patients with CAC score>0 and Non-CAC group, n=224 patients with CAC score=0. CAC group was further classified in 3 subgroups as CAC score (1-100) subgroup, n=53, CAC score (101-400) subgroup, n=64 and CAC score>400 subgroup, n=39. Clinical data was collected, plasma levels of PCSK9 were measured in all patients and the relationship between PCSK9 and CAC score was investigated. Results: Plasma PCSK9 level in CAC group was higher than Non-CAC group (260.23±69.34) ng/ml vs (205.46±53.21) ng/ml, P<0.001; alone with CAC score increasing, PCSK9 level was elevating accordingly as in CAC score (1-100) subgroup, CAC score (101-400) subgroup and CAC score>400 subgroup, PCSK9 levels were (247.38±72.68) ng/ml, (264.87±57.63) ng/ml and (295.33±69.06) ng/ml respectively, all P<0.05. With adjusted traditional cardiovascular risk factors, multivariate regression analysis confirmed that plasma PCSK9 level was independently related to CAC score (β=0.584, P=0.002). In addition, the optimal cut-off value for PCSK9 predicting CAC was 228.58 ng/ml with sensitivity at 67% and specificity at 71%. Conclusion: Plasma PCSK9 level was related to CAC in chest pain patients without lipid-lowering therapy.
