ObjectiveTo find out whether there is any difference in the monitoring results of mosq-ovitraps placed in different orientations in multi-storey residential areas, so as to provide a scientific basis for routine and emergency monitoring of Aedes albopictus with mosq-ovitraps in residential areas. MethodsFrom July 6th to October 26th 2023, one mosquito ovitrap was set up in each of the 4 orientations of east, south, west and north around the buildings in a multi-storey residential area in Jinhui Town, Fengxian District, Shanghai. Data was collected and recorded 72 hours after placement. The chi-square test was used to compare the mosquito ovitrap indices (MOIs) of two independent samples, and the Kruskal⁃Wallis H test was used to compare the MOIs of multiple independent samples. ResultsAfter 16 weeks of surveillance, 997 mosquito ovitraps were recovered, of which 211 were positive, with the mosquito ovitrap index (MOI) of 21.16% and the Aedes albopictus density index of 1.03 mosquitoes·ovitrap^-1. The MOIs were higher in September (24.22%) and October (23.96%), and the MOIs in the west, south and north within the two months were all above 20.00%. From July to October, the MOIs in the east, west, south and north were 20.70%, 22.20%, 25.50% and 16.20%, respectively, and the difference in MOIs among the 4 orientations was not statistically significant (χ²=6.647, P=0.084). Stratified analysis by month showed that in August, the south side of the multi-storey residential areas had the highest MOI (31.30%), the north side had the lowest MOI (1.30%), and there was a statistically significant difference in MOI in the east, west, south and north (χ²=25.986, P<0.001). In October, the MOI in the west was the highest (33.30%) and the MOI in the east was the lowest (6.30%), the difference in MOIs of the 4 orientations was statistically significant (χ²=12.007, P=0.007). The MOIs in the south side of the building in the outskirts of the residential area from the 1st week in July to the 4th week in October was lower (19.20%) than that in the south side of the inner building (31.70%), and the difference in MOI was statistically significant (χ²=5.118, P=0.024). ConclusionThe study of MOI in different orientations in a multi-storey residential area is a preliminary exploration based on field work, and the results show that there is a difference in MOIs in different orientations during the peak breeding period of mosquitoes. Further indicators such as temperature, humidity and wind speed in different orientations can be collected to explore the influencing factors of MOIs.

Objective To obtain the metabolomics characteristics of patients in the active stage of ulcerative colitis(UC)with syndrome of dampness-heat in large intestine through non-target metabolomics technology,and to provide a basis for promoting the theoretical system of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome differentiation of disease syndrome combination and micro-macro combinations.Methods Non-target metabolomics technology was used to detect the serum samples from 159 patients in the active stage of UC(81 cases with syndrome of dampness-heat in large intestine and 78 cases with syndrome of non-dampness-heat in large intestine)and 30 healthy volunteers.The orthogonal partial sample least squares discriminant analysis model was constructed to screen metabolites with significant changes among groups.The variable importance in projection&ge;1,P<0.05,and fold change(FC)>1.20 or FC<0.83 were used as the criteria for the screening of differential metabolites.The Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)was used to annotate differential metabolites,and MetaboAnalyst software was used for pathway analysis.Results Between patients in active stage of UC with syndrome of dampness-heat in large intestine and syndrome of non-dampness-heat in large intestine,a total of 99 differential metabolites were screened in the positive ion mode,of which 48 were upregulated and 51 were downregulated.In the negative ion mode,a total of 38 differential metabolites were screened,of which 19 were upregulated and 19 were downregulated.The KEGG enrichment analysis showed that there were 21 metabolic pathways,and the pathway analysis showed that there were mainly four metabolic pathways involved in tryptophan metabolism,sphingolipid metabolism,glycerophospholipid metabolism,and pyrimidine metabolism.Conclusion Patients in the active stage of UC with syndrome of dampness-heat in large intestine have abnormal metabolic pathways,which can provide a basis for TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment for UC with syndrome of dampness-heat in large intestine.

OBJECTIVE To explore the safety， effectiveness， and cost-effectiveness of elderly patients with sarcopenia receiving Shenling baizhu powder combined with nutrition and exercise intervention， providing a reference for rational clinical drug use. METHODS A total of 237 elderly sarcopenia patients were randomly assigned to an observation group （118 cases） and a control group （119 cases）. Both groups of patients received nutrition and exercise intervention； the observation group added Shenling baizhu powder （6 g each time， three times daily） on this basis. The safety， effectiveness， and cost-effectiveness of the two plans were compared after 3 months. RESULTS Both groups of patients completed the follow-up. Before intervention， no significant difference was observed in skeletal muscle index （SMI）， grip strength， and 6-minute walk test （6MWT） speed between the two groups （P＞0.05）. After intervention， the grip strength of the patients in the observation group was significantly greater than that of the control group （25.05 kg vs. 23.18 kg， P＜0.01）； the treatment response rate of sarcopenia， SMI， and 6MWT speed were higher than those of the control group， butthe differences were not statistically significant （P＞0.05）. The adverse reaction/event rate of the patients in the observation group was lower than that of the control group （14.41% vs. 16.81%， P＝0.611）， but the difference was not statistically significant. Compared with the control group’s plan， the cost of the observation group’s plan was higher （981.25 yuan vs. 913.94 yuan）， and the effect was better （effectiveness rate： 0.618 6 vs. 0.563 0）， with an incremental cost-effectiveness ratio of 1 210.61 yuan. The results of the sensitivity analysis were consistent with the cost-effectiveness analysis results. CONCLUSION Elderly patients with sarcopenia who receive Shenling baizhu powder combined with nutrition and exercise intervention can significantly strengthen grip strength without increasing the incidence of adverse reactions/events. Compared with the control group plan， the observation group needs to spend an additional 1 210.61 yuan for each additional effective patient with sarcopenia.

The adulteration and counterfeiting of herbal ingredients in medicinal and food homology (MFH) have a serious impact on the quality of herbal materials, thereby endangering human health. Compared to pharmaceutical drugs, health products derived from traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) are more easily accessible and closely integrated into consumers' daily life. However, the authentication of the authenticity of TCM ingredients in MFH has not received sufficient attention. The lack of clear standards emphasizes the necessity of conducting systematic research in this area. This study utilized DNA barcoding technology, combining ITS2, psbA-trnH, matK as universal barcode sequences, and DX, HH, JYH as specific barcode sequences, to identify the authenticity of commercial medicinal and food homology scented herbal teas. The aim was to investigate the authenticity of scented herbal tea products circulating in the market. The research results revealed that among 180 scented herbal tea samples, DNA barcodes were successfully obtained from 164 samples, while the remaining samples either lacked the target components or suffered severe DNA degradation, resulting in failed amplification. Combined with morphological identification studies, it was found that out of the 180 samples, 141 were authentic, accounting for 78.33% of the total samples, while 31 samples showed adulteration and 8 samples lacked the target components, accounting for 21.67% of the total samples. Additionally, water testing revealed that 5 samples of Carthamus tinctorius herbal tea exhibited the phenomenon of weight adulteration. This study exposed the presence of adulteration and weight adulteration in scented herbal tea products, highlighting the need for regulatory authorities to expedite the establishment of quality standards in scented herbal tea industry. These findings provide valuable insights for the rapid development of the scented herbal tea industry.

Objective: To construct and validate a prognosis model related to ferroptosis in urinary tract tumors using bioinformatics methods. Methods: RNA-seq and clinical data from TCGA′s BLCA and KIRC datasets were analyzed to establish the prognostic model, and then were validated using ICGC and GEO data. Prognostic genes associated with ferroptosis were identified through univariate Cox, LASSO-Cox, and multivariate Cox regression analyses. Co-expression and protein-protein interaction(PPI) network analyses determined the relationships among these genes. Immune infiltration analysis explored the association between ferroptosis-related prognostic genes and the immune microenvironment. Functional enrichment analysis of differentially expressed genes between high and low-risk groups in BLCA and KIRC prognostic models was conducted to investigate potential mechanisms by which ferroptosis-related genes regulate BLCA and KIRC prognosis. Results: Significant prognostic gene signatures associated with ferroptosis were identified in BLCA and KIRC. For BLCA, the genes EGR1, ZEB1, P4HB, WWTR1, JUN, CDO1,SCD,SREBF1,CAV1, and GALNT14 were significant. For KIRC, the genes ASMTL-AS1, CHAC1,MT1G, RRM2, TIMP1, DPEP1, GLRX5, and NDRG1 were significant. Ferroptosis-related miRNAs linked to the prognosis of both cancers were also identified. The constructed risk models based on these genes and miRNAs predicted patient prognosis in TCGA-BLCA and KIRC, with low-risk groups showing significantly higher overall survival(P<0.05). The hazard ratios for these models ranged from 2.54(95%CI: 1.73-3.74) to 4.74(95%CI: 3.47-6.47), with AUC values above 0.60. Co-expression analysis and PPI networks revealed high correlation levels between JUN and EGR1 in BLAC and between SCD and SREBF1. Immune infiltration analysis indicated positive correlations between EGR1, CAV1, JUN, and immune scores, while SREBF1 showed a negative correlation. Conclusion The prognosis model based on ferroptosis-related genes effectively predicts patient outcomes in BLCA and KIRC. This model can serve as a reference for targeting ferroptosis to assess the prognosis of BLCA and KIRC patients.

Objective:To investigate the predictive value of controlling nutritional status (CONUT) score in the prognosis of patients with advanced diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).Methods:A retrospective case series study was performed. The clinical data of 654 patients newly diagnosed with advanced DLBCL diagnosed in 7 medical centers in Huaihai Lymphoma Working Group from October 2009 to January 2022 were retrospectively collected. All the patients received rituximab-based immune chemotherapy regimens. The patients were randomly assigned to the training set (458 cases) and the validation set (196 cases) in a 7:3 ratio. The clinicopathological data of patients were collected, and the CONUT score was calculated based on albumin, lymphocyte count, and total cholesterol. The optimal critical value of CONUT scote was determined by using MaxStat method. Kaplan-Meier method was used to draw survival curves; Cox proportional hazards model was used to make univariate analysis and multivariate analysis on the factors influencing overall survival (OS). The efficacy of CONUT score in combination with the International prognostic index (IPI) and an enhanced IPI (NCCN-IPI) in predicting OS was evaluated by using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves.Results:The median follow-up time of 654 patients was 38.1 months (95% CI: 35.3 months- 40.9 months), and the 5-year OS rate was 49.2%. According to the MaxStat method, the optimal critical value for CONUT score was determined to be 6 points. All the patients were classified into the normal nutritional status group (CONUT score ≤ 6 points, 489 cases) and the poor nutritional status group (CONUT score > 6 points, 165 cases). The results of the multivariate analysis showed that CONUT score > 6 points, male, lactate dehydrogenase >240 U/L, high white blood cell count, low hemoglobin level and age > 60 years were independent risk factors for OS of patients with advanced DLBCL (all P < 0.05). Patients in the poor nutritional status group (CONUT score > 6 points) had worse OS compared with that in the normal nutritional status group in the overall cohort of advanced DLBCL. Subgroup analysis revealed that among patients with Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group-performance status (ECOG PS) score < 2 points, IPI low-intermediate risk, IPI intermediate-high risk, NCCN-IPI low-intermediate risk, and NCCN-IPI intermediate-high risk, the patients in the poor nutritional status group (CONUT score > 6 points) had worse OS compared with that in the normal nutritional status group (CONUT score ≤ 6 points) (all P < 0.05). Conclusions:CONUT score has a certain value in the assessment of the prognosis of patients with advanced DLBCL, and its predictive efficacy is further improved when combined with IPI and NCCN-IPI.

Objective:To investigate the current situation of occupational burnout among bus drivers in Wuhu City and analyze its influencing factors.Methods:A survey was conducted in 1 388 bus drivers in Wuhu City from Sep to Nov 2022 using the general information questionnaire,the Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey(MBI-GS),and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI).Multivariable logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of occupational burnout in bus drivers.Spearman correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between occupational burnout and sleep quality.Results:Among 1 388 bus drivers,642(46.3%)were positive for occupational burnout,and 139(10.0%)were found to have sleep disorders.Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that longer bus driving experience(OR=1.873,95%CI:1.325-2.648),lower monthly income(OR=0.376,95%CI:0.158-0.774),higher smoking frequency(OR=1.313,95%CI:1.188-2.163),higher drinking frequency(OR=1.342,95%CI:1.018-1.769),lower weekly physical exercise frequency(OR=0.367,95%CI:0.243-0.555),and poor sleep quality(OR=13.110,95%CI:7.284-23.594)were the influencing factors of bus driver occupational burnout(P＜0.05).Spearman correlation analysis showed that the total score of occupational burnout and its dimension scores were positively correlated with the total score of sleep quality and its dimension scores(rs=0.12-0.83,P＜0.01).Conclusion:The problem of occupational burnout among bus drivers in Wuhu City is relatively serious,and a part of people have sleep problems,which should be paid great attention to and active measures should be taken in time.

Based on the pathogenesis of “tendon off-position and joint subluxation”， combined with modern ana-tomy and biomechanics， the characteristic manifestations of “tendon off-position” and “joint subluxation” of the knee and the intrinsic connection between them are clarified. Through sorting out the relationship between “tendon off-position and joint subluxation” and knee osteoarthritis （KOA） in modern research， it is believed that “tendon off-position and joint subluxation” is the key mechanism for the occurrence and development of KOA， and accordingly， it is proposed to take the diet as the guide， use bone manipulation for external diagnosis and treatment， use traditional Chinese medicine decoction for internal treatment， and use Daoyin exercise throughout the whole process as the strategy for KOA's comprehensive traditional Chinese medicine treatment to improve the clinical effectiveness.

BACKGROUND:Increasing studies have found that estrogen has a certain correlation with tendinopathy,but for a long time,there are few experiments and summaries of estrogen in tendinopathy,which makes it difficult for specialists and scholars in related fields to fully understand the research status. OBJECTIVE:To summarize the current clinical or preclinical original research,so as to summarize the role of estrogen in tendinosis,and make a certain prospect for the evaluation and management of estrogen in tendinosis in the future. METHODS:Relevant literature in PubMed,Web of Science,CNKI,WanFang,and VIP databases were searched by computer.Search time was from January 2008 to September 2023.The search terms were"oestrogen,estrogen,estrogen receptor,tendinopathy,tendonopathy,sinew,tendon,tendons,myotenositis"in English and"estrogen,estrogen receptor,tendinosis,tendon,tendinitis"in Chinese.According to the selection criteria,the search results were screened and excluded,and finally 60 documents were included for review and analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:In vivo studies have shown that estrogen can promote tendon anabolism.In vitro experiments have also proved that various estrogens can promote the proliferation of tendon cells and reduce inflammation and apoptosis,but most of the experiments are limited to animal models.Estrogen receptor β acts more in tendon injury and repair processes,but estrogen receptor α has not been found to have a major impact on tendon injury.The expression of estrogen receptor β can repair the tendon by affecting the formation of fat,the deposition of type I collagen and reducing the apoptosis of tendon cells,while its over-expression may promote inflammation and angiogenesis,thus promoting the inflammatory process and playing a role in tendon injury.Animal studies have shown that estrogen deficiency may reduce the synthesis efficiency of collagen in the tendon,decrease the elasticity of tendon,inhibit the synthesis and metabolism of the tendon,which is not conducive to the repair of tendon injury,while normal level of estrogen may stimulate the synthesis of type I collagen in tendon and promote the proliferation and metabolism of tendon cells.At present,the molecular mechanism of estrogen in tendon injury has not been fully explained.More experiments focus on tendon collagen synthesis,cell proliferation and apoptosis.Only a few documents have studied the molecular mechanisms of estrogen receptor β deficiency regulating interferon regulatory factor 5-chemokine ligand 3 axis,E2 regulating estrogen receptor α and PI-3K-Akt signaling pathways,and high levels of estradiol reducing the level of free-circulating insulin-like growth factor.Various estrogens,including endogenous estrogens and phytoestrogens,are beneficial to the repair of tendinopathy at normal levels,and estrogen receptor β mainly affects the formation of fat,the deposition of type I collagen and the reduction of apoptosis of tendon cells through,which lays a foundation for the future treatment of tendinopathy with different subtypes of estrogens in vivo and the influence of estrogen membrane receptors on tendinopathy.

BACKGROUND:The content of serum thrombin in patients with osteoarthritis is significantly higher than that in normal individuals,and thrombin can induce inflammatory degeneration of rat chondrocytes,suggesting that inhibiting the function of thrombin may become a method for treating osteoarthritis.Celecoxib is a common therapeutic drug for the clinical treatment of osteoarthritis.It is not yet known whether it improves chondrocyte degeneration by inhibiting the activity of thrombin. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of celecoxib on thrombin-induced degeneration of rat chondrocytes. METHODS:Thrombin levels in the serum of osteoarthritis patients and normal individuals were detected by an ELISA kit.Primary chondrocytes of neonatal Sprague-Dawley rats were isolated,and all experiments were performed with cells from passage one.Chondrocytes were randomly divided into three groups:control group,thrombin group,and celecoxib group.The cell morphology of the three groups was observed under an inverted microscope,and an Edu kit was used to detect the cell proliferation.qRT-PCR was used to detect the expression of extracellular matrix components(aggrecan,elastin,cartilage oligomeric matrix proteins),inflammatory factors(interleukin-1,interleukin-6,and tumor necrosis factor-α),and chemokines(monocyte chemotactic protein 2,monocyte chemotactic protein 7,granulocyte chemotactic protein 6).The expression of type 2 collagen α1 was detected by immunofluorescence.Western blot method was used to detect the expression of catabolic metabolism genes,such as matrix metalloproteinase 9,matrix metalloproteinase 13,and cyclooxygenase 2. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Patients with osteoarthritis had higher levels of thrombin in the serum compared with normal individuals.Under the microscope,celecoxib was found to significantly inhibit fibroid changes in chondrocytes.Compared with the thrombin group,celecoxib inhibited the proliferation of chondrocytes.The downregulation of extracellular matrix gene expression,such as type II collagen α1,in the thrombin group was inhibited by celecoxib(P<0.05).Thrombin promoted the expression of inflammatory factors(interleukin-1,interleukin-6,and tumor necrosis factor-α),chemokines(monocyte chemotactic protein 2,monocyte chemotactic protein 7,granulocyte chemotactic protein 6),as well as catabolic genes(matrix metalloproteinase 9,matrix metalloproteinase 13,and cyclooxygenase 2),and under the intervention of celecoxib,the expression of these genes could be downregulated(P<0.05).Overall,these findings indicate that celecoxib inhibits the pro-inflammatory effects of thrombin and thereby ameliorates chondrocyte degeneration in rats.
