Objective To investigate the impact of coronary myocardial bridge(MB)on parameters of proximal pericoronary adipose tissue(PCAT).Methods Totally 287 patients with clinically suspected coronary heart disease but no coronary plaque on CT angiography(CCTA)were retrospectively collected.According to the presence or not of MB in left anterior descending(LAD),the patients were divided into MB group(n=150)and non-MB group(n=137).The length and depth of LAD-MB in MB group were measured, and patients in MB group were divided into deep MB subgroup and superficial MB subgroup according to LAD-MB depth.LAD PCAT parameters,i.e.fat attenuation index(FAI)and fat volume(FV),were compared between groups and subgroups within MB subgroup.Univariate and multivariate linear regression were used to explore the correlations of clinical factors(age, sex, body mass index),MB length,MB depth and PCAT parameters in MB group. Results FAI in MB group was higher, while FV was lower than those in non-MB group(both P<0.001).Among 150 cases of LAD-MB,superficial type were found in 99 cases(superficial subgroup),while deep type were found in 51 cases(deep subgroup).FAI in superficial subgroup was lower, while FV was higher than those in deep subgroup(both P<0.001).The median length and median depth of LAD-MB in 150 cases was 20.10 mm and 0.80 mm,respectively.Univariate linear regression analysis showed that for all 287 patients, gender was negatively correlated with FAI,whereas LAD-MB length and LAD-MB depth were positively correlated with FAI but negatively correlated with FV in MB group(all P<0.05).Multifactor linear regression analysis showed that in MB group, both LAD-MB length and depth were positively correlated with FAI(B=0.105,1.797,both P<0.05)and negatively correlated with FV(B=-15.585,-162.343,both P<0.05),while clinical factors were not significantly correlated with FAI and FV(all P>0.05).Conclusion MB could increase FAI and decrease FV of proximal PCAT.

Objective:To explore predictive value of arterial velocity-pulse index (AVI) and arterial pressure-volume index (API) for early atherosclerosis (AS) in middle-aged population. Methods:A total of 138 middle-aged patients hospitalized in our hospital from May 2016 to Nov 2016 were enrolled.According to coronary angiography (CAG) outcomes, they were divided into AS group (n=86) and non-AS group (n=52).Before CAG, AVI, API and brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV) were collected in two groups.General data and arterial stiffness indexes were compared between two groups, and the correlation among AVI, API, baPWV and general data were analyzed. Results:Compared with non-AS group, there were significant rise in AVI [(20.4±4.2) vs.(22.8±5.3)] and baPWV [(14.0±2.5) m/s vs.(16.3±3.0) m/s] in AS group,P<0.01 both.AVI was significant positively correlated with age, SBP, DBP, mean arterial pressure (MAP), pulse pressure (PP), API and baPWV (r=0.219~0.471, P<0.05 or <0.01);API was significant positively correlated with age, BMI, SBP, DBP, MAP, PP, brain natriuretic peptide (BNP), AVI and baPWV (r=0.213~0.726, P<0.05 or <0.01);baPWV was significant positively correlated with age, BMI, SBP, DBP, MAP, PP, AVI and API (r=0.201~0.472, P<0.05 or <0.01).Multi-factor linear regression analysis indicated that SBP was influencing factor for AVI (B=0.162,P=0.001), SBP, DBP and HDL-C were influencing factors for API (B=-0.166~2.146,P<0.05 or <0.01), SBP and HDL-C were influencing factors for baPWV (B=0.116,-3.009,P<0.01 both). Conclusion:Both elevated AVI and baPWV can predict atherosclerosis in middle-aged population

Objective To study the preventive effect of spironolactone on renal tubulointerstitial fibrosis of diabetic nephropathy (DN)in rats. Methods Sixty adult SD rats were random divided into sham operation group(C),diabetic nephropathy group(D)and spironolactone interventional group(A).After diabetes WaS induced by administrating strep tozotocin(STZ),spironolactone was perfused into the stomach of rats in group A.On the 7th,14th,21st,28th days after treatment, rats were put to death, their kidneys were removed to observe the expressions of TGF-β1 and MMP-9 by immunohistochemistry method. The blood potassium, natrium, glucose, serum creatinine, cholesterol, triglyceride and urinary albumin quantification were measured. Results Urine protein in group A wag lower than that in group D.The blood potassium, natrium, glucose, serum creatinine, cholesterol and triglyceride had no difference between group A and group D(P>0.05).Compared with group D,the expressions of TGF-β1 in group A Was decreased(P<0.01),the expressions of MMP-9 in group A was hisher than that in group D(P<0.01).Conclusion Spironolactone could decrease the expression of TGF-β1 and increase the expression of MMP-9 in the tubulointerstitial of diabetic nephropathy, which may delay the progress of renal tubulointerstitial fibrosis.

OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the expressions of tumor suppressor gene CX26 mRNA and coding protein in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma, and to explore the relationship between CX26 gene and the biological behaviors of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma for understanding the tumorigenicity and development of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma.
METHOD:
Laryngeal carcinoma tissues (studying group), which takeda from the center of tumors and laryngeal normal tissues (control group) takeda at the place of 1.0 cm out of the edge of the tumors, were took from 38 patients with laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma while they were in operation. Semi-quantitative reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was used to analyze the expression level of CX26 mRNA, and immunohistochemical staining (frozen section) was used to detect the expression of CX26 protein in laryngeal carcinoma tissues and laryngeal normal tissues of 38 cases, respectively.
RESULT:
mRNA of CX26 gene was all positively expressed in laryngeal carcinoma tissues and laryngeal normal tissues of 38 cases by RT-PCR. However, CX26 mRNA was obviously down-regulated in laryngeal carcinoma tissues than that in laryngeal normal tissues (P < 0.05). Immunohistochemical staining showed CX26 protein was strong-positively expressed in laryngeal normal tissues in 34 cases (89.5%), while it was positively expressed in laryngeal carcinoma tissues in 18 cases (47.4%), and with the location alteration of CX26 protein in laryngeal carcinoma cells. There was significant difference between the expression rate of CX26 protein in laryngeal carcinoma tissues and in laryngeal normal tissues (P < 0.05). Meanwhile, the expression level of CX26 mRNA and the positive-expressed rate of CX26 protein of the laryngeal carcinoma tissues in the advanced stage patients group (III stage and IV stage) were significantly lower than these in the early stage patients group (I and II) (P < 0.05), and it was significantly lower in those who have a cervical lymph node metastasis than those without metastasis. (P < 0.05). Moreover, the expression level of CX26 mRNA and the positive-expressed rate of CX26 protein reduced along with the reduction of pathological differentiation, and there was significant difference among the well-differentiated group, moderately-differentiated group and poorly-differentiated group (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSION
CX26 gene may play an important role in the pathogenesis and development of laryngeal carcinoma and may be related to its prognosis.
