The most common site of bone metastasis in advanced bladder cancer is spine, and jaw metastasis is rare. This article reports a 77-year-old male patient who had a solitary metastatic lesion in the left jaw 1 year after radical cystectomy for bladder cancer. The pathological features of the metastasis were consistent with bladder urothelial carcinoma metastasis. The patient received a GC regimen combined with toripalimab immunotherapy for 4 cycles, followed by maintenance of immunotherapy and anti-bone metastasis protection therapy. No new metastasis was found during the 6-month follow-up.

Essential oils (EOs) are natural, volatile substances derived from aromatic plants. They exhibit multiple pharmacological effects, including antibacterial, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties, with broad application prospects in health care, food, and agriculture. However, the instability of volatile components, which are susceptible to deterioration under light, heat, and oxygen exposure, as well as limited water solubility, have significantly impeded the development and application of EOs. Porous nanoclays are natural clay minerals with a layered structure. They possess unique structural characteristics such as large pore size, regular distribution, and tunable particle size, which are extensively utilized in drug delivery, adsorption separation, reaction catalysis, and other fields. Natural-derived porous nanoclays have garnered considerable attention for the encapsulation and delivery of EOs. This review comprehensively summarizes the structure, types, and properties of natural-derived porous nanoclays, focusing on the structural characteristics of porous nanoclays such as montmorillonite, palygorskite, halloysite, kaolinite, vermiculite, and natural zeolite. It also examines research advances in their delivery of EOs and explores engineering strategies to enhance the delivery of EOs by natural-derived porous nanoclays. Finally, various applications of natural-derived porous nanoclays for EOs in antibacterial, food preservation, repellent, and insecticide aspects are presented, providing a reference for the development and application of EOs.

Late-onset cobalamin C (cblC) deficiency is an inherited organic acid metabolic disorder characterized by clinical heterogeneity, which often presents challenges in accurate diagnosis. This article presents a case study of a young female patient who initially experienced epileptic-like seizures. Over a span of 9 years, she subsequently developed psychotic symptoms. Her condition has been steadily deteriorating over a period of 16 years, leading to mutism, loss of ambulation, dysphagia, and urinary and fecal incontinence. Although electroencephalography and cranial computed tomography did not show significant findings during the course of the illness, cranial magnetic resonance imaging showed evidence of cerebral atrophy. Biochemical analysis revealed elevated levels of blood homocysteine and urinary methylmalonic acid-2. Genetic testing identified two pathogenic mutations in the MMACHC gene, confirming the diagnosis of late-onset cobalamin C (cblC) deficiency. Despite receiving interventions such as antiepileptic and antipsychotic medications during the diagnostic and therapeutic phases, the patient′s clinical progress remained limited.Following the definitive diagnosis, targeted metabolic therapy was initiated, leading to significant clinical improvement. This article provides a comprehensive review of the patient′s clinical data, along with a synthesis of relevant literature, in order to enhance the awareness of psychiatric practitioners regarding this rare disorder. The primary objective is to promote early identification, prompt diagnosis, and timely intervention.

Antipsychotic medications are commonly used to treat schizophrenia, but they can have negative effects on lipid metabolism, leading to an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases, reduced life expectancy, and difficulties with treatment adherence. The specific mechanisms by which antipsychotics disrupt lipid metabolism are not well understood.Sterol regulatory element-binding proteins(SREBPs)are important transcriptional factors that regulate lipid metabolism.Proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9(PCSK9),a gene regulated by SREBPs,plays a critical role in controlling levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)and has become a focus of research on lipid-lowering drugs.Recent studies have shown that antipsychotic drugs can affect lipid metabolism through the SREBP/PCSK9 pathway.A deep understanding of the mechanism for this pathway in antipsychotic drug-related metabolic abnormalities will promote the prevention of lipid metabolism disorders in patients with schizophrenia and the development and application of new drugs.

Objective::This study aimed to evaluate the major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (MACCEs) and overall safety profile associated with iodixanol in Chinese patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).Methods::Patients at 30 centers in China registered in the OpenClinic v3.6 database from October 30, 2013, to October 7, 2015, were included in the study. The primary endpoint was in-hospital MACCEs including target lesion revascularization (TLR), stroke, stent thrombosis, cardiac death, and PCI-related myocardial infarction (MI) within 72 h post-PCI. Secondary endpoints were MACCEs from 72 h to 30 d post-PCI and other safety events within 30 d post-PCI.Results::A total of 3,042 patients were enrolled. The incidence of MACCEs within 72 h post-PCI was 2.33% ( n = 71), including cardiac death (0.03%, n = 1) and PCI-related MI (2.30%, n = 70). The incidence of MACCEs from 72 h to 30 d post-PCI was 0.16% ( n = 5), including cardiac death (0.10%, n = 3), PCI-related MI (0.03%, n = 1), and TLR for stent thrombosis (0.03%, n = 1). The incidence of composite angiographic or procedural complications was 2.86% ( n = 87); 233 (7.86%) patients had results suggesting contrast-induced acute kidney injury. Conclusions::These findings indicate that the use of iodixanol in Chinese patients undergoing PCI is associated with a low incidence of MACCEs, confirming its safety in this population.

Chinese Journal of Oncology 2018;40(5):359-364
Objective:
To investigate the expressions of migration and invasion inhibitory protein (MIIP) and p21-activated kinase 1 (PAK1) in endometrial carcinoma (EC) and their correlation with clinicopathological features.
Methods:
The protein levels of MIIP and PAK1 in 135 paraffin-embedded EC tissues, 55 atypical hyperplasia of endometrium (AHE) and 88 normal endometrium (NE) tissues were quantified by immunohistochemistry, the clincial significance and the relationship of these two proteins were also analyzed.
Results:
The positive rates of MIIP expression in NE, AHE and EC tissues were 52.3%(46/88), 41.8% (23/55) and 34.8% (47/135), respectively. The expression of MIIP in EC was significantly lower than that of MIIP in NE (
