Objective:To investigate the relationship between lumbar disc herniation and vertebral bone mineral density(BMD)of quantitative analysis of computed tomography(CT).Methods:Eighty patients with lumbar disc herniation who admitted to Beijing Tongzhou District Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine from May 2022 to June 2024 were included in the case group, and 30 healthy volunteers who underwent physical examination in hospital were included in the healthy control group during the same period. The vertebral BMD of all subjects was quantitatively analyzed by CT.The data, lumbar BMD value, lumbar bone mass loss and osteoporosis distribution of the two groups were compared at baseline. Results:There were no significant differences in gender, age, body mass index(BMI)and abdominal circumference of baseline data between the case group and the healthy control group(P>0.05).The BMD value of the fourth lumbar vertebra(L4)in the case group was lower than that in the healthy control group, and the difference was statistically significant(t=1.991,P<0.05).There were no significant differences in BMD value and mean BMD(Lmean BMD)of the fifth lumbar vertebra(L5)between the case group and the healthy control group(P>0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the lumbar BMD value of healthy control group between different genders(P>0.05),and there was significant difference in Lmean BMD between different genders in the case group(t=2.063,P<0.05),while there were no statistically significant difference in the L4 BMD and L5 BMD of the case group between different genders(P>0.05).The difference of Lmean BMD values of the persons with same gender(male, female)between the case group and the healthy control group were statistically significant(t=2.570,3.300,P<0.05).The ratio of normal lumbar bone mass in the case group was 48.75%,which was lower than that in the healthy control group(70.00%),and the difference was statistically significant(x2=3.974,P<0.05).The ratio of osteoporosis in the case group was 18.75%,which was higher than that in the healthy control group(3.33%),and the difference of that between two groups was significant(x2=4.172,P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the ratio of bone mass loss between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:CT quantitative analysis shows that the vertebral BMD value of the patients with lumbar disc herniation is significantly lower than that of persons of the healthy control group, which indicates that the decrease of BMD value might be related to the occurrence of lumbar disc herniation.

Surgical treatment is one of the key approaches for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Regular postoperative follow-up is crucial for early detection and timely management of tumor recurrence, metastasis, or second primary tumors. A scientifically sound and reasonable follow-up strategy not only extends patient survival but also significantly improves quality of life, thereby enhancing overall prognosis. This consensus aims to build upon the previous version by incorporating the latest clinical research advancements and refining postoperative follow-up protocols for early-stage NSCLC patients based on different treatment modalities. It provides a scientific and practical reference for clinicians involved in the postoperative follow-up management of NSCLC. By optimizing follow-up strategies, this consensus seeks to promote the standardization and normalization of lung cancer diagnosis and treatment in China, helping more patients receive high-quality care and long-term management. Additionally, the release of this consensus is expected to provide insights for related research and clinical practice both domestically and internationally, driving continuous development and innovation in the field of postoperative management for NSCLC.

Resection is crucial for treating non-small cell lung cancer. Routine follow-up after surgery is an effective method for early detection and treatment of tumor recurrence and metastasis or the second primary tumor, which can improve the quality of life of patients and their prognosis. This consensus aims to provide a reference for colleagues responsible for postoperative follow-up of non-small cell lung cancer patients in China, and further improve the standardization of lung cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common primary liver malignancy and is the fourth-leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. HCC is refractory to many standard cancer treatments and the prognosis is often poor, highlighting a pressing need to identify biomarkers of aggressiveness and potential targets for future treatments. Kinesin family member 2C (KIF2C) is reported to be highly expressed in several human tumors. Nevertheless, the molecular mechanisms underlying the role of KIF2C in tumor development and progression have not been investigated. In this study, we found that KIF2C expression was significantly upregulated in HCC, and that KIF2C up-regulation was associated with a poor prognosis. Utilizing both gain and loss of function assays, we showed that KIF2C promoted HCC cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and metastasis both in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, we identified TBC1D7 as a binding partner of KIF2C, and this interaction disrupts the formation of the TSC complex, resulting in the enhancement of mammalian target of rapamycin complex1 (mTORC1) signal transduction. Additionally, we found that KIF2C is a direct target of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway, and acts as a key factor in mediating the crosstalk between Wnt/β-catenin and mTORC1 signaling. Thus, the results of our study establish a link between Wnt/β-catenin and mTORC1 signaling, which highlights the potential of KIF2C as a therapeutic target for the treatment of HCC.

ObjectiveTo explore the state of misdiagnosis, missed diagnosis and excesseive diagnosis related to cerebral palsy(CP).Methods389 cases were retrospectively analyzed who were misdiagnosed, missed or escessively diagnosed related to CP as the first diagnosis in the inpatient and outpatient department from July 1999 to March 2010.ResultsAmong 389 cases, 156 cases were missed or misdiagnosed as nutritional disease, and 118 cases of other diseases were misdiagnosed as CP, while 115 cases who were normal children was excessively diagnosed as CP. The false diagnosis had relativity with children's age: doctors are more prone to make misdiagonsis when the children's age are smaller, while 293 cases were misdiagnosed before 12 months old (75.3%); 102 cases (65.4%) were misdiagnosed or missed as other diseases before September, 2004, while 87 cases (75.7%) were excessively diagnosed as CP after September, 2004. Frequency of misdiagnosis as CP reduced from 2004, and the proportion dropped from 55.9% to 44.1%.ConclusionIt is very important to master the diagnostic standard of CP. Both sides of the question are important, one side is to make early diagnosis and early treatment in order to achieve the best effect of rehabilitation, and the other side is to prevent misdiagnosis and excessive diagnosis which woud delay illness, or waste medical resources, increase the financial and psychological burden.
