Objective:
To explore the association between takeout fast foods and sugar sweetened beverage consumption with co-occurrence of anxiety and depressive symptoms among first year junior high school students in Yunnan Province, so as to provide theoretical basis for the prevention of anxiety and depressive symptoms co-occurrence among adolescents.
Methods:
A random cluster sampling involving 8 500 first year junior high school students in 11 counties in Yunnan Province was conducted by a questionnaire survey from October to December 2022. The Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21) was applied to assess anxiety and depressive symptoms in first year junior high school students. Chi-square test was used to compare the anxiety-depression co-occurrence symptoms of first year junior high school students with different demographic characteristics. The association between takeout fast foods and sugar sweetened beverage consumption with co-occurrence of anxiety and depressive symptoms of adolescents was analyzed by binary Logistic regression models.
Results:
The detection rate of co-occurrence of anxiety and depression symptoms among first year junior high school students in Yunnan Province was 26.92%. After controlling for demographic variables and other confounders, takeout fast foods and sugar sweetened beverage consumption( OR=1.50, 95%CI =1.27-1.77) was associated with anxiety-depression co-occurrence symptoms among first year junior high school students in Yunnan Province ( P <0.01). Stratified analysis showed that both Han ( OR=1.37, 95%CI =1.07-1.77) and ethnic minorities ( OR=1.60, 95%CI =1.29-2.00) exhibited statistically significant associations between takeout fast foods and sugar sweetened beverage consumption with co-occurrence of anxiety and depressive symptoms(both P <0.05).
Conclusions
Takeout fast foods and sugar sweetened beverage consumption increases the risk of co-occurrence of anxiety and depressive symptoms among first year junior high school students in Yunnan Province. It is recommended to strengthen guidance on the consumption of such products among junior high school students to prevent co-occurrence of anxiety and depressive symptoms.

Objective:
To analyze the association between drinking behaviors and anxiety symptoms, with the mediating role of insomnia symptoms among college freshmen, so as to provide a reference basis for reducing the occurrence of anxiety symptoms in college freshmen.
Methods:
From October to December 2021, 31 856 freshmen were selected by the purposive sampling method in 22 colleges across 11 provinces (Fujian, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Henan, Anhui, Hubei, Shanxi, Jiangxi, Shaanxi, Yunnan, Chongqing) in China. The Semi quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire was used to investigate college freshmen drinking behaviors. The Depression Anxiety Stress Scale 21 and the Insomnia Severity Index were used to assess anxiety symptoms and insomnia symptoms in college freshmen. The generalized linear model was employed to analyze the association between drinking behaviors and anxiety symptoms in college freshmen, and the structural equation modeling was used to assess the mediating effect of insomnia symptoms on the association.
Results:
The detection rate of anxiety symptoms among college freshmen was 28.2%, the detection rates of the mild, moderate, severe and extremely severe were 6.6%, 15.9%, 3.2% and 2.6%, respectively. While 23.6% of college freshmen reported drinking in the past month, the rates were 39.8% among boys and 15.9% among girls. After adjusting for demographic variables (ethnicity, education, major, etc.) and confounding variables (self evaluation of learning burden, number of close friends, screen time, etc.), the results of generalized linear model analysis showed that beer consumption was associated with anxiety symptoms in college freshmen( β =0.09, 95% CI =0.04-0.14), girls( β =0.14, 95% CI =0.07-0.21) and those aged 19-20 years ( β =0.12, 95% CI =0.05-0.19)(all P <0.05). Red wine consumption was associated with anxiety symptoms in male students ( β =0.13, 95% CI =0.02-0.24, P <0.05). Alcohol and beer consumption were associated with insomnia in college freshmen[ β (95% CI ) =0.22(0.08-0.36),0.31(0.23-0.39),both P <0.01]. Insomnia symptoms partially mediated the association between drinking behaviors and anxiety symptoms among college freshmen with a mediating effect value of 0.05, accounting for 50.49% of the total effect.
Conclusions
Insomnia symptoms partially mediates the association between drinking behaviors and anxiety symptoms in college freshmen. Measures should be taken to simultaneously intervene in the drinking behaviors and insomnia symptoms of college freshmen to prevent the occurrence of their anxiety symptoms.

Depression is a widespread psychiatric disorder with complex pathogenesis and unsatisfactory therapeutic effects. As a native flavonoid, Isorhamnetin (ISO) has been deemed to exert neuroprotective effects by antioxidation and regulation of immunity. However, no reports of anti-depressed effect of ISO have yet been found. The present study was conducted to clarify the mechanism basis of anti-depressed effect of ISO utilizing behavioral, biochemical, molecular approaches in vitro and in vivo and bio-informatics analysis. The effects of ISO on depressed mice was investigated through the SPT and FST, and the lesions were examined by H&E staining. Besides, the inflammatory factor and indicator in kynurenine pathway were assessed through detection kits, and the microbiota were checked by 16sRNA. Molecular docking study was performed to investigate the target of ISO. Additionally, Western blot was used to test the activation of PI3K/AKT signaling pathway. The results indicated that ISO could enhance the sugar water preference of mice in SPT and reduce immobility time in FST. Further more, ISO suppressed peripheral and central inflammation, regulated the changes in kynurenine pathway and gut microbiota, inhibited activation of PI3K/AKT pathway, and presented good binding patterns with target proteins on PI3K/AKT signaling pathway. Collectively, these findings demonstrate that ISO alleviated depression-like behaviour by normalizing inflammation-induced dysregulation of the crosstalk between KP and gut microbiota disorder through regulated PI3K/AKT/NF-κB pathway.

Objective:To explore whether the Wenpi Yishen method can effectively prevent the occurrence of urinary tract infection after transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).Methods:A prospective randomized controlled study was conducted on 173 patients with BPH admitted to Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University from January 2023 to December 2024, and they were divided into the control group ( n=104) and the Wenpi Yishen group ( n=69) by the random number table method. Patients in the control group were treated only with conventional methods after TURP, while patients in the Wenpi Yishen group were treated with the Wenpi Yishen method in addition to the conventional treatment after TURP to prevent urinary tract infections. The preoperative general data such as age and body mass index of the two groups of patients were compared, as well as the traditional chinese medical syndrome scores before and after TURP, international prostate symptom scores (IPSS), self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) scores, urinary tract infections and postoperative complications, etc. Measurement data were expressed as mean±standard deviation ( ± s), and t-test was used for comparison between groups; count data were expressed as the cases and percentage, and Chi-square test was used for comparison between groups. Results:There were no statistically significant differences between the two groups of patients in terms of preoperative traditional chinese medical syndrome scores, IPSS scores, SAS scores, and inflammation-related indicators ( P>0.05). In the patients of control group, 44 cases (42.3%) had positive urine cultures before the operation, there was 28 cases (40.6%) in the Wenpi Yishen group, and the difference was no statistically significant ( P>0.05). In the patients of control group, 28 cases showed positive urine cultures within one month after TURP, among which 9 cases were new-onset urinary tract infections, there was 9 cases in the Wenpi Yishen group, and no new-onset urinary tract infections, and the differences were statistically significant ( P<0.05). The traditional chinese medical syndrome scores of patients in the control group and Wenpi Yishen group after surgery were (8.0±2.1) points and (6.9±2.4) points, respectively, and the therapeutic rates of syndromes were (60.2±10.0)% and (65.2±12.2)%, respectively, the differences were statistically significant ( P<0.05). The IPSS score and SAS score of patients in the Wenpi Yishen group decreased by (21.0±4.5) points and (14.7±2.9) points before and after TURP, respectively, which were both lower than those of the control group [(19.1±3.5) points and (11.7±3.7) points], and the differences were statistically significant ( P<0.05). In terms of the severity of postoperative complications, 34 cases (32.7%) in the control group had relatively severe complications such as urinary tract infection and hematuria, while only 5 cases (7.25%) in the Wenpi Yishen group, and the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.05). However, there was no statistically significant difference in the postoperative inflammation-related indicators between the two groups ( P>0.05). Conclusion:For patients with BPH, early application of the Wenpi Yishen method after TURP can effectively prevent the occurrence of urinary tract infections, and improve the uncomfortable symptoms in the short term after the operation, as well as relieve the generation of anxiety.

Objective:To investigate the distribution rules of artemisia pollen and the clinical sensitization characteristics of allergic rhinitis (AR) induced by artemisia pollen in three urban and rural areas of Inner Mongolia. Methods:From March to October 2019, in 3 central cities (Chifeng, Hohhot, Ordos) and rural areas of Inner Mongolia, an epidemiological investigation method combining multi-stage stratified random sampling and face-to-face questionnaire survey was adopted to screen suspected AR patients, and skin prick test (SPT) was applied for diagnosis. At the same time, pollen monitoring was carried out in 3 areas to analyze the distribution and clinical sensitization characteristics of artemisia pollen.SPSS26.0 statistical software was used to process all the data. Chi-square test was used to compare rates among different age, sex, region and nationality, Spearman test was used to describe correlation analysis, and pairwise comparison of positive rates among multiple samples was used Bonferroni method. Results:Among the 6 393 subjects, 1 093 cases were diagnosed with AR, and the prevalence of AR was 17.10% (1 093/6 393). Among them, pollen-induced allergic rhinitis, the prevalence of PiAR was 10.97% (701/6 393), accounting for 64.14%(701/1 093).The highest incidence was in the youth group (20-39 years old), accounting for 46.94% (329/701).The diagnosed prevalence was higher in females than in males (11.35% vs. 10.64%, χ2 value 12.304, P<0.001).The prevalence rate of ethnic minority was higher than that of Han nationality (13.01% vs. 10.65%, χ2 value 6.296, P=0.008).The prevalence in urban areas was also significantly higher than that in rural areas (18.40% vs. 5.50%, χ2 value 10.497, P<0.001).There was significant difference in prevalence rate among the three regions in Inner Mongolia (6.06% in Chifeng, 13.46% in Hohhot, 16.39% in Ordos, χ2 value 70.054, P<0.001).The main clinical symptoms of artemisia PiAR were sneezing (95.58%), nasal congestion (91.73%) and nasal itching (89.30%).Allergic conjunctivitis accounted for 79.60% (558/701), chronic sinusitis for 55.63% (390/701), asthma for 23.25% (163/701).The pattern of artemisia pollen sensitization was mainly multiple sensitization, and the frequency of clinical symptoms and clinical diseases induced by hypersensitization with other allergens accounted for more than that caused by single artemisia pollen. The spread period of Artemisia pollen in the three regions was from June to October, and the peak state was in August in summer. The peak time of clinical symptoms in artemisia PiAR patients was about 2 weeks earlier than the peak time of pollen concentration, and the two were significantly positively correlated ( R=0.7671, P<0.001). Conclusion:Artemisia pollens are the dominant pollens in late summer and early autumn in Inner Mongolia, and the prevalence of artemisia PiAR is high. Controlling the spread of Artemisia pollens is of great significance for the prevention and treatment of AR.

Objective:To investigate the correlation between pelvic compensatory capacity and proximal junctional kyphosis (PJK) in patients with adult spinal deformity undergoing spino-pelvic fixation utilizing second sacral alar iliac (S 2AI). Methods:A cohort of 55 patients diagnosed with adult spinal deformity and treated with spino-pelvic fixation utilizing S 2AI between January 2016 and January 2019 was included. The pelvic tilt to pelvic incidence ratio (PT to PI ratio, PTr) was used to categorize patients into high PTr group (PT/PI>0.4) and low PTr group (PT/PI<0.4). Subsequently, patients were further classified into PJK group and non-PJK group based on the occurrence of PJK during the last follow-up. Radiographic parameters such as Cobb angle, coronal balance distance (CBD), global kyphosis (GK), thoracic kyphosis (TK), lumbar lordosis (LL), sagittal vertical axis (SVA), proximal junctional angle (PJA), T 1 pelvic angle (T 1PA), pelvic incidence (PI), pelvic tilt (PT), sacral slope (SS), and PI-LL were measured preoperatively, postoperatively, and at final follow-up. The chi-square test was employed to compare the incidence of PJK between the high PTr and low PTr groups at the last follow-up. Additionally, multivariable logistic regression analysis was conducted to identify independent risk factors for PJK. Results:The incidence of PJK was significantly higher in the high PTr group compared to the low PTr group [high PTr group (38%) vs. low PTr group (8%), P<0.05]. Multivariable logistic regression analysis identified pre-operative PTr [ OR=3.274, 95% CI(1.100, 36.973), P=0.035], post-operative PTr [ OR=5.700, 95% CI(1.271, 65.272), P=0.029], and PJA at the last follow-up [ OR=1.274, 95% CI(0.998, 1.624), P=0.009] as independent risk factors for PJK. Conclusion:Patients with higher PTr exhibited poor pelvic compensatory ability, struggled to maintain optimal sagittal balance post-operation, and were at increased risk of developing PJK during follow-up.
