ObjectiveTo investigate the relationship of physical activity (PA) and cognitive function to sleep quality in older adults with cognitive impairment based on resting electroencephalogram (EEG), and to explore the mediating role of specific EEG markers in the relationship between PA and sleep quality. MethodsFrom March to May, 2024, 137 older adults were recruited from Chenfu Jiayuan and Qiangwei Jiuli in Songjiang district, and Luyan communities in Jinshan district, Shanghai. The assessments included Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form (IPAQ-SF) and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), along with a five-minute EEG recording. ResultsThere was significant difference in sleep quality among older adults with different levels of cognitive impairment (t = -7.400, P < 0.001). The PSQI total score was negatively correlated with MoCA scores (r = -0.412, P < 0.001) and total physical activity level (PAL) (r = -0.363, P < 0.001). The θ power in the frontal areas (F3, F4) was significantly correlated with both PSQI scores and PAL (P < 0.01). The θ power in F3 + F4 exhibited a significant partial (effect size = -0.0004, 95%CI -0.0007 to -0.0002) mediating effect between PA and sleep quality in older adults with cognitive impairment. ConclusionOlder adults with more severe cognitive impairment tend to have poorer sleep quality, whereas higher PAL is associated with better sleep quality. PA can indirectly influence sleep quality in older adults with cognitive impairment by affecting θ power (F3 + F4).

Objective:To follow up and observe the intellectual development of school children aged 8 to 10 in Baicheng County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, which was a severe iodine deficiency disorders region in history, before and after effective control of the disease, in order to evaluate the impact of iodine supplementation on protection of children's intellectual development and provide a theoretical basis for scientific supplements of iodine. Methods:From 1989 to 2018, Combined Raven's Test for Rural in China (CRT-RC) was used to observe the intellectual development status of 660 Uyghur school children aged 8 to 10 in Baicheng County in 1989, 2002, 2006, 2012 and 2018, respectively. Children's intelligence quotient (IQ) was calculated using CRT-RC's 1987 normal sample of rural children in the same age group; the data of average iodized salt coverage rate (C-IS) and childhood goiter rate (GR) from multiple local surveys and the median urinary iodine (MUIC) of children were collected, combined with the "Criteria for Elimination of Iodine Deficiency Disorders" (GB 16006-2008) and the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) recommended standards, the status of iodine deficiency during children's growth (IDG) was divided into complete exposure to iodine deficiency, no exposure, and semi-exposed. The Flynn effect (FE) gain was calculated using norm samples of children aged 8 to 10 in 1987, 1996 and 2006 of CRT-RC, and the differences in children's intellectual development after FE correction before and after IDG reached the standard were compared. Results:The IQ of children were (81.67 ± 14.13), (83.26 ± 14.05), (89.68 ± 13.58), (98.50 ± 14.33) and (103.23 ± 15.25) points in Baicheng County in 1989, 2002, 2006, 2012 and 2018, respectively, the difference between different years was statistically significant ( F = 58.357, P < 0.01). The three indicators of C-IS, GR, and MUIC didn't meet the standards during the IDG evaluation period in the 1989, 2002, and 2006 groups, which were the complete exposure to iodine deficiency; in the 2012 group, only the MUIC met the standard, which was semi-exposed; in the 2018 group, three indicators all met the standard, which was no exposure. The FE gains of 1987 with 1996, 1996 with 2006 were 0.96 points/year and 0.74 points/year, respectively; after FE correction, the actual gains of IQ of 2002 and 2006 compared with 1989, 2012 and 2018 compared with 2006 were - 9.57, - 6.11, 4.38, and 4.67 points, respectively. Conclusions:In iodine deficiency areas, intermittent iodine supplementation (1989 - 2009) for children exposed to iodine deficiency during growth still cannot effectively protect children's intellectual development; continuous and effective iodine supplementation (2010 - 2018) with iodized salt as the core and covering children's growth period has obvious positive effects on protection of children's normal intellectual development. In the future, we will continue to observe the influence of IDG full-cycle suitable iodine nutrition on children's intellectual development.

Objective:To analyze hepatic hemodynamic parameters detected by Doppler ultrasound (DU) of uncomplicated children who underwent left lateral segment(LLS) LDLT (LLS-LDLT), explore their change trends over time and determine the normal reference intervals. Methods:This retrospective study involved the data from 261 pediatric LLS-LDLT cases in Tianjin First Central Hospital from June 2014 to January 2018. Hemodynamic parameters included peak systolic velocity (PSV), end diastolic velocity (EDV), resistivity index (RI), and pulsation index (PI) of hepatic artery (HA), and portal vein velocity (PVV) during intra-operative and on the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th days after operation were collected. Among whom, 232 cases with uncomplicated and normal recovery were finally involved in our study, with 200 cases who were collected from June 2014 to August 2017 as test group. Those collected from September 2017 to January 2018, totally 32 cases were set as validation group. The change trends and normal ranges of hemodynamic parameters over time were analyzed in test group, and the results were further tested in the validation group. Results:In the test group, PSV HA, EDV HA showed a similar change trend at one week after surgery, with an overall decrease-rise trend; RI HA, PI HA also changed similarly with an overall rise-decrease trend. PVV at surgery was lower than at all time points after surgery. In addition, this study provided the normal reference intervals of hemodynamic parameters for LDLT patients at early postoperative period, which at intra-operation they were PSV HA 18.4-98.3 cm/s, EDV HA 0-43.3 cm/s, RI HA 0.41-1.0, PI HA 0.51-2.0, PVV 19.0-83.7 cm/s. Within 1 week after surgery: PSV HA 21.0-97.7 cm/s, EDV HA 0-32.7 cm/s, RI HA 0.47-1.0, PI HA 0.62-2.0, PVV 23.0-92.0 cm/s. By using those results, the coincidence rate of Doppler parameter change trend was 84.3%(27/32), 84.3%(27/32), 78.1%(25/32), 78.1%(25/32), 87.5%(28/32) for PSV HA, EDV HA, RI HA, PI HA, PVV in the validation group, respectively. As for the normal reference intervals of blood flow parameters, RI HA and PI HA in one case in the validation group were lower than the lower limits of the normal reference intervals, accounting for 3.1% of the total. PSV HA in two cases was lower than the lower limit of normal reference interval, accounting for 6.2% of the total. Conclusions:The hepatic hemodynamic in post-transplanted children detected by DU has specific changing trends and normal ranges, which provides valuable reference values for ultrasonologists and pediatric transplant clinicians.

Chinese Journal of Lung Cancer 2020;23(1):21-28
BACKGROUND:
TRIM proteins are important members of E3 ubiquitin ligases, and many studies have confirmed that TRIM family members play an important role in the development of various tumors. We found that TRIM59 expression level in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) was significantly increased through second-generation sequencing. The purpose of this study was to investigate the expression of TRIM59 in NSCLC and its relationship with the clinicopathological parameters as well as the prognosis of patients.
METHODS:
The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) datasets were excavated to analyze the expression of TRIM59 mRNA in NSCLC and its relationship with the prognosis of patients; The expression of TRIM59 protein in 90 tumor tissues and adjacent tissues was detected by immunohistochemical staining, and the relationship between the expression of TRIM59 protein and clinicopathological parameters and prognosis was analyzed.
RESULTS:
Overexpression of TRIM59 mRNA in tumor tissues predicted poor prognosis. The expression level of TRIM59 protein was significantly higher in tumor tissues than in adjacent tissues, and TRIM59 protein expression was correlated with tumor size (P=0.007), tumor differentiation (P=0.009), tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) stage (P=0.003) and lymph node metastasis (P=0.003). Multivariate Cox regression analyses showed that along with TNM stage, overexpression of TRIM59 could be considered an independent prognostic factor for NSCLC patients.
CONCLUSIONS
The expression of TRIM59 is closely related to the prognosis of NSCLC patients, and it is an independent risk factor for NSCLC patients.

Purpose:
This study aimed to evaluate nursing students’ understanding of the prevention of COVID-19, as well as their anxiety towards the disease and their perception of their professional identity in the wake of the pandemic, in Zhengzhou, China.
Methods:
A cross-sectional study was designed to investigate 474 nursing students by cluster sampling using a stratified questionnaire from February 15 to March 31, 2020. Multiple linear regression was used to identify the factors affecting professional identity. Binary and multiple logistic regression were used to identify the factors affecting anxiety.
Results:
Responders with a high level of understanding of COVID-19 and frequent use of behavioral strategies for its prevention comprised 93.2% and 30.0% of the cohort, respectively. Professional identity was significantly associated with gender and anxiety (p < .050). The prevalence of anxiety among nursing students was 12.4%. Male (odds ratio [OR] = 2.39; 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.26~4.52), sophomores (OR = 5.30; 95% CI = 1.61~7.45), and infrequent use of prevention measures (OR = 3.49; 95% CI = 1.16~5.19) had a significant effect on anxiety.
Conclusion
Anxiety during the COVID-19 epidemic gives an adverse effect on the professional identity of nursing in students. Nursing education institutions need to provide psychological counseling services for nursing students, in addition to improving their teaching of COVID-19 prevention strategies.
