Objective:
To investigate the prevalence and associated factors of spinal curvature abnormalities among primary and secondary school students in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, so as to provide a scientific basis for the prevention and control of such abnormalities.
Methods:
From September to November 2023, adopting a stratified cluster random sampling method, spinal curvature screenings and questionnaire surveys were conducted among 168 931 students from grade 4 of primary school to grade 12 of high school in 111 districts and counties across 14 cities in Guangxi. Chi square tests and binary Logistic regression analysis were used to analyze influencing factors of spinal curvature abnormalities.
Results:
In 2023, the detection rate of poor posture among students above grade 4 in Guangxi was 4.24% , and the detection rate of spinal curvature abnormalities was 2.13%. The detection rate was higher among urban students (2.84%) than rural students (1.66%), boarding students (2.61%) than non-boarding students (1.60%), and high school students (3.16%) than junior high (2.45%) and primary school students (1.15%), and the differences were statistically significant ( χ 2=269.85, 221.44, 565.10, P <0.01). A trend of increasing detection rates with higher grade levels was observed ( χ 2 trend =617.63, P <0.01). Binary Logistic regression analysis indicated that students without boarding at school ( OR =0.82, 95% CI =0.75-0.90), engaging in high-intensity physical activity for over 60 min per day ≥5 days per week ( OR =0.90, 95% CI =0.82-0.98), and adequate sleep ( OR =0.87, 95% CI =0.81-0.94) had lower risks of detecting spinal curvature abnormalities ( P <0.05).
Conclusions
The prevalence of spinal curvature abnormalities increases with grade level among primary and secondary school students in Guangxi. Regular moderate-to-vigorous physical activity demonstrates protective effects against spinal abnormalities.

BACKGROUND:The formation of postoperative abdominal adhesions is a complicated process, and the prevention of postoperative adhesions is an urgent problem in clinic. OBJECTIVE:To analyze the mechanism of adhesion at cellular and molecular levels, and to provide theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of adhesion by mesenchymal stem cell exosomes. METHODS:"Abdominal adhesion, pelvic adhesion, postoperative adhesion, epithelial mesenchymal transformation, mesenchymal stem cells, stem cell exosomes, mesenchymal stem cell exosomes"were selected as Chinese and English search terms. We searched PubMed,CNKI,and Chinese biomedical literature and screened relevant articles on postoperative abdominal adhesion and mesenchymal stem cell exosomal intervention published from inception to August 2023.After systematic analysis,54 articles were finally included for the review. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)Any pathological factors such as peritoneal inflammation, mechanical injury, tissue ischemia, and foreign body implantation cause peritoneal surface injury, resulting in postoperative abdominal adhesion. The formation process of adhesion includes the interaction of peritoneal mesothelial cell repair, inflammatory response, fibrinolytic system, coagulation pathway and other processes, involving a variety of cytokines and signaling pathways.Wnt/β-catenin pathway can induce fibrosis and angiogenesis, and cooperate with transforming growth factor-β/Smads signaling pathway to stimulate fibroblast proliferation and cause peritoneal fibrosis.Meanwhile, nuclear factor-κB signaling pathway up-regulates the expression of cellular inflammatory factors, promotes fibroblast proliferation, and plays a key role in the process of tissue fibrosis.(2)The paracrine function of stem cells is an important direction of molecular intervention in abdominal adhesions based on regenerative medicine. It can participate in a variety of complex cytokines and signaling pathways involved in abdominal adhesions.(3)Compared with traditional methods for treating abdominal adhesions, mesenchymal stem cell exosome has biological activity and is safe to use.Mesenchymal stem cell exosomes without special culture and expansion have lower immunogenicity, longer stability and other advantages, can guide a normal repair and healing through a variety of ways.(4)Mesenchymal stem cell exosome has been proven to be involved in regulating the above processes of adhesion formation in previous studies, showing potential application prospects in clinical studies. However, further clinical studies are needed to explore appropriate treatment options for mesenchymal stem cell exosomes to address the problem of clinical translation.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2025;46(7):937-940
Objective:
To investigate the association between medium to long term PM 2.5 exposure around school areas and overweight/obesity among primary and secondary school students in Guangxi, providing data support and theoretical foundations for scientifically addressing overweight and obesity in primary and secondary school students.
Methods:
From September to November 2023, a stratified cluster random sampling method was employed to select 251 183 students aged 7-18 years (grade 1 to grade 12) from 14 prefecture level cities (111 districts and counties) in Guangxi. PM 2.5 mass concentration data were obtained from the Tracking Air Pollution in China (TAP) dataset. Preliminary comparative analysis was conducted using the Mann-Whitney U test, while binary Logistic regression models were applied to quantify the relationship between PM 2.5 exposure and overweight/obesity. Restricted cubic spline analysis was further utilized to examine the nonlinear association between PM 2.5 concentration and overweight/obesity risk.
Results:
The detection rate of overweight/obesity among Guangxi students in 2023 was 19.5%. The median PM 2.5 concentration in the year prior to the study was higher in the overweight/obesity group (23.22 μg/m 3) compared to the non overweight/obesity group (22.63 μg/m 3) ( Z=-15.66, P <0.01), and consistent trends were observed across gender (male/female) and educational stage (primary/junior/senior high school) subgroups (all P <0.01). Binary Logistic regression revealed that for every 10 μg/m 3 increase in the annual average PM 2.5 concentration, the risk of overweight/obesity increased by 12% ( OR=1.12, 95%CI=1.09- 1.15 , P <0.01). Restricted cubic spline analysis indicated a nonlinear relationship between monthly PM 2.5 levels and overweight/obesity risk ( P trend <0.01). Below 22.68 μg/m 3, PM 2.5 exposure showed no significant association with obesity risk; above the threshold, the risk increased with rising PM 2.5 levels.
Conclusion
Medium to long term PM 2.5 exposure around school environments is significantly associated with overweight/obesity among primary and secondary school students.

Objective:
To investigate the detection of natural infection with pathogens in rodents in Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, so as to provide a basis for risk assessment and control of rodent-borne diseases.
Methods:
From August to September each year during the period of 2022-2024, urban residential areas, rural residential areas, key industries, farmland and cultivated land, forests, and shrublands in various counties (districts) of Huzhou City were selected as rodent surveillance sites. Rodents were captured using the trap night method. Following anesthesia, the rodents were euthanized by cervical dislocation. Species were identified based on morphological characteristics. Under sterile conditions, dissection was performed to collect liver, spleen, lung, and kidney tissues. These tissues were then mixed together, and detected for Hantavirus, Dabie bandavirus, Leptospira, and Orientia tsutsugamushi using fluorescence quantitative PCR. The detection rates of these natural infections with pathogens were analyzed across different rodent species, counties (districts), and habitats.
Results:
A total of 259 rodents were captured from 2022 to 2024, including Rattus norvegicus, Rattus tanezumi, Suncus murinus, Mus musculus, Leopoldamys edwardsi, Niviventer fulvescens, Rattus losea, and Apodemus agrarius. The dominant species were Rattus norvegicus (142 individuals) and Rattus tanezumi (59 individuals), collectively accounting for 77.61%. With the exception of Orientia tsutsugamushi, Hantavirus, Dabie bandavirus, and Leptospira were all detected, with detection rates of 5.02%, 1.93%, and 10.42%, respectively. Hantavirus and Leptospira were simultaneously detected in one Rattus norvegicus, yielding a mixed infection rate of 0.39%. The three pathogens were detected in rodents in Wuxing District, Nanxun District, Deqing County, Changxing County, and Anji County, with detection rates of 6.45%, 5.71%, 26.32%, 4.76%, and 24.00%, respectively. They were also detected in rodents in urban residential areas, rural residential areas, key industries, farmland, and forests, with detection rates of 28.57%, 21.57%, 10.91%, 12.50%, and 14.81%, respectively. Notably, all three pathogens were simultaneously detected in Rattus norvegicus, Rattus tanezumi, rural residential areas, and key industries.
Conclusions
Rattus norvegicus and Rattus tanezumi were identified as the dominant rodent species in Huzhou City. The detection of Hantavirus, Dabie bandavirus, and Leptospira, including instances of mixed infection. It is necessary to enhance surveillance and control measures targeting these key species and high-risk habitats.

This study was aimed at understanding the genomic characteristics of the Vibrio cholerae O1 group isolated from humans in Fujian Province,to provide essential data for the molecular epidemiological study of cholera. From 2008 to 2022,16 strains of the V.cholerae O1 group from patients and carriers were collected, and antibiotic sensitivity was determined accord-ing to the minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC).The whole genome sequences obtained through second generation sequen-cing were analyzed in open source software, including snippy,Roary, and Prokka,as well as online analysis websites,inclu-ding NCBI and BacWGSTdb,for core-genome multilocus sequence typing(cgMLST),core-genome single nucleotide polymor-phism analysis(cgSNP),virulence gene analysis, drug resistance gene prediction, and pan-genomic diversity analysis. The whole genome sequences of V.cholerae were divided into five sequence types(STs),among which the newly discovered ST182 and ST1480 were the evolutionary branches of the current dominant clonal group ST75 in China, and were highly related to two strains isolated from Taiwan in 2010 and 2013,respectively.Both toxigenic strains and non-toxigenic strains carried a variety of virulence factors and showed gene variation to varying degrees.Thirteen drug resistance genes in seven categories were predicted, among which the distribution of colistin and tetracycline resistance genes was consistent with the drug resistance phenotype.Pan-ge-nomic analysis indicated that V.cholerae had an open pan-genome,and Roary cluster analysis showed higher resolution than cgMLST.In summary,V.cholerae O1 group isolates from humans in Fujian Province have polymorphisms in genome structure and function, and the newly discovered ST1480 clone group has epidemic potential. Therefore, the monitoring of such strains must be strengthened.

Objective:To explore the genotypes and clinical phenotypes of three families with Liddle Syndrome(LS).Methods:In this study, three young patients with hypertension and hypokalemia were confirmed LS through second-generation sequencing genetic testing. Members of the three families were screened for genes, and genotypes and clinical phenotypes were analyzed. Results:This study identified three patients in Family 1 carrying a possible pathogenic heterozygous variant c. 1859A>G(p.Y620C) in the SCNN1B gene(sodium channel epithelia 1β subunit). Five patients in family 2 and family 3 carried the pathogenic heterozygous variant c. 1789dup(p.R597Pfs*11) in the SCNN1B gene. Following three months of treatment with salt restriction and triamterene, blood pressure and potassium levels returned to normal in all eight patients. Conclusion:LS patients typically present clinically with early-onset hypertension accompanied by hypokalemia, but there is clinical heterogeneity. It is recommended to conduct genetic testing on suspected patients as early as possible to confirm the diagnosis and initiate timely treatment with effective medications so as to reduce the complications of target organs.
