Cervical cancer is one of the most common gynecological malignant tumors in China. Given their lack of obviously early symptoms, more than half of patients with cervical cancer are diagnosed in the middle and late stages of this malignancy, resulting in poor prognosis. Finding new therapeutic targets is the current research direction. Metabolomics, as a new omics technology, is expected to provide new targets for tumor precision diagnosis and treatment through the analysis of the changes and potential mechanisms of metabolites in tumor occurrence and development by chromatography, mass spectrometry, and other technologies. Herein, we review the research methods of metabolomics; metabolic characteristics of cervical cancer; and progress of the research on metabolomics in cervical cancer diagnosis, curative effect prediction, and prognosis evaluation to provide new ideas for the precise diagnosis and treatment of cervical cancer.

Parkinson's disease(PD)is a neurodegenerative disorder whose core pathological feature is the abnormal accumulation of pathological α-synuclein(α-syn)in the brain, but there are rare clinical therapeutic modalities that target this.As a hot research topic in recent years, meningeal lymphatic vessels(MLVs)play an important role in central nervous system fluid(CNS)drainage, and can promote the exocytosis and clearance of metabolic wastes such as α-syn from the brain.Regulating the morphology and function of MLVs to promote α-syn exocytosis is likely to become an influential direction for future intervention in PD research and provide new approaches for the clinical therapy of PD.In this article,we will overview 3 aspects of the structure and function of MLVs,the role of MLVs in PD,and the strategy of targeting MLVs to treat PD.

Objective To understand the current status of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) among operating room doctors, thereby analyzing its effect on mental health. Methods A total of 1013 doctors in the operating rooms of 30 hospitals in 24 provinces from September to December 2022 were selected by cross-sectional survey method. The domestic musculoskeletal disease questionnaire was used to investigate the occurrence of WMSDs in operating room doctors, the symptom check list-90 (SCL-90) was used to evaluate the psychological status of operating room doctors, the relationship between WMSDs related items and SCL-90 scores was analyzed, the correla-tion between the rest time of each shift and SCL-90 factors was analyzed by Pearson method, and the influencing factors of mental health of operating room doctors were analyzed by multivariate Logistic regression. Results A total of 1100 questionnaires were distributed and 1013 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective rate of 92.10%. The incidence of WMSDs among operating room doctors in the past 1 year was 95.06%. The body parts with incidences of WMSDs from high to low were as follows:waist (36.92%),neck (35.54%),shoulder (33.56%),and upper back (32.77%). In the past 1 year, the SCL-90 scores and total scores of patients with musculoskeletal pain in various body parts, keeping the same back posture for a long time while work, bending the back at the same time of turning frequently while working, bowing the head for a long time while working, and bending the knee for a long time while working were significantly higher than those who were without the above conditions (P<0.05). Shorter rest time of each shift and longer periods of keeping the same back posture were the risk factors for the development of mental illness in operating room doctors. Conclusion The incidence of WMSDs in operating room doctors is high, which can influence the mental health of operating room doctors. Therefore, operating room doctors should avoid keeping the same back posture for a long time, bending the back at the same time of turning frequently, bowing the head for a long time, and bending the knee for a long time while working, and increase the rest time of each shift,in order to improve the mental condition of the operating room doctors.

Objective To explore the effects of electroacupuncture on motor function in Parkinson's disease(PD)model mice and NLRP3 inflammasome-related proteins in the midbrain substantia nigra(SN).Methods C57BL/6 mice were assigned to three groups according to the random number table method:control group, model group, and electroacupuncture(EA)group,12 mice per group. The PD model was reproduced by intragastric administration of rotenone solution 10 mg/(kg·d).EA group was administered at the three selected points,"Fengfu"(GV16),"Taichong"(LR3),and"Zusanli"(ST36),with a treatment cycle of 2 weeks. The control and model groups took the same time synchronous fixation operation for the control variable.Behavioral scores and open field tests were used to detect the exercise ability of mice in each group.Tyrosine hydroxylase(TH)and α-synuclein(α-syn)in the midbrain SN of mice in all groups were measured with an immunohistochemistry test.NLRP3 and cysteinyl aspartate specific proteinase-1(Caspase-1)protein expression levels in the midbrain SN of mice in the three groups were measured using Western blotting, and interleukin-1β(IL-1β)content was determined with an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results Compared to the control group, the behavioral scores of the mice in the model group were higher(P<0.01).Compared to the model group, the behavioral scores of the mice in the EA group were lower(P<0.01).Compared to the control group, the time ratio of the relative rest state of the mice in the model group(<100 mm/s)increased significantly(P<0.01),while the time ratio of the slow motion(100~200 mm/s)and time ratio of the fast motion(>200 mm/s)state decreased significantly(P<0.01).Compared to the model group, the time ratio spent in the relative rest state of mice in the EA group decreased significantly(P<0.01),while the time ratio of the slow motion state and time ratio of the fast motion state and movement rate increased significantly(P<0.01).Compared to the control group, the TH expression level decreased in the SN in the model group(P<0.01),while α-syn increased(P<0.01).Compared to the model group, the TH expression level in the EA group increased(P<0.05),while α-syn decreased(P<0.05).Compared to the control group, the protein expressions of NLRP3 and Caspase-1 in the SN of the model group increased(P<0.01);compared to the model group, the expressions of NLRP3 and Caspase-1 in the SN of the midbrain of mice decreased after EA treatment(P<0.01).Compared to the control group,IL-1β in the SN of the mouse midbrain increased in the model group(P<0.01).Compared to the model group,IL-1β decreased in the EA group(P<0.05).Conclusion This experiment shows that stimulation of EA in"Fengfu","Taichong",and"Zusanli"can effectively reduce abnormal aggregation of the PD marker α-syn,increase TH expression, and enhance the motor dysfunction of PD model mice. The molecular mechanism is related to the regulation of the expression of NLRP3,Caspase-1,and IL-1β of inflammasome-related pathways.

Numerous randomised controlled trials have suggested the positive effects of acupuncture on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). However, the underlying therapeutic mechanisms of acupuncture for COPD have not been clearly summarized yet. Inflammation is central to the development of COPD. In this review, we elucidate the effects and underlying mechanisms of acupuncture from an anti-inflammatory perspective based on animal studies. Cigarette smoke combined with lipopolysaccharide is often used to establish animal models of COPD. Electroacupuncture can be an effective intervention to improve inflammation in COPD, and Feishu (BL13) and Zusanli (ST36) can be used as basic acupoints in COPD animal models. Different acupuncture types can regulate different types of inflammatory cytokines; meanwhile, different acupuncture types and acupoint options have similar effects on modulating the level of inflammatory cytokines. In particular, acupuncture exerts anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the release of inflammatory cells, inflammasomes and inflammatory cytokines. The main underlying mechanism through which acupuncture improves inflammation in COPD is the modulation of relevant signalling pathways: nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) (e.g., myeloid differentiation primary response 88/NF-κB, toll-like receptor-4/NF-κB, silent information regulator transcript-1/NF-κB), mitogen-activated protein kinase signalling pathways (extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2, p38 and c-Jun NH2-terminal kinase), cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway, and dopamine D2 receptor pathway. The current synthesis will be beneficial for further research on the effect of acupuncture on COPD inflammation. Journal of Public Health and Preventive Medicine 2022;33(6):68-71
Objective To study the pathogenicity of Streptococcus suis type 7 in CD1 mice and to explore the feasibility of CD1 mice as an animal infection model of Streptococcus suis type 7. Methods CD1 mice were infected with Streptococcus suis type 7 isolated from Guangdong Province by intraperitoneal inoculation. The pathological model of CD1 mice was evaluated by the observation of clinical symptoms, pathological autopsy, histopathological examination of liver and brain tissue sections, determination of LD50, and identification of bacteria and detection of bacterial load in tissues and organs. Results The pathological incidence of infected CD1 mice showed good regularity and repeatability. The clinical symptoms, pathological changes and tissue damage of infected CD1 mice were basically consistent with the previous experimental results of Streptococcus suis type 2 and 9 infection in mice and were similar to the natural disease of pigs. Live bacteria could be isolated from blood, heart, liver, spleen, lung, kidney and brain of infected mice, and the recovered bacteria were consistent with the original bacteria. The detection of bacterial load in tissues and organs showed that the bacterial load in heart was the highest, followed by liver, kidney, spleen, lung and blood, and the bacterial load in brain was the lowest. Conclusion In this study, we demonstrate that Streptococcus suis type 7 strain can cause sepsis and brain inflammation in CD1 mice, resulting in tissue damage and death. CD1 mice are sensitive to the experimental strain and can be used as an animal model of streptococcus suis type 7 infection.

Objective:To explore the postprandial plasma low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) changes by various detection methods. Methods:A total of 85 subjects admitted to the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University from November 2017 to May 2019 were included. Serum samples were collected from fasting and the 2 nd hour and the 4 th hour after breakfast. Serum lipid levels were measured with enzymatic assays and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMRS), and proprotein invertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) levels were measured with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays. The differences of blood lipid components at different time points were compared by Friedman two-way rank analysis of variance and Wilcoxon signed rank test, and the correlation between PCSK9 level and lipoprotein particles was analyzed by Spearman correlation. Results:Measured by enzymatic assays, compared with the fasting state, LDL-C decreased at the 2 nd hour and the 4 th hour after the meal (2.58[2.09, 3.12], 2.47[1.92, 3.02], 2.37[1.82, 2.80] mmol/L, P<0.001). Measured by NMRS, the concentration of LDL particles (1 086[830, 1 239], 1 083[848, 1 213], 1 061[814, 1 213] nmol/L, P=0.417) did not change significantly, and cholesterol in LDL particles were 2.13 (1.56, 2.54), 2.16 (1.68, 2.50), 2.06 (1.58, 2.50) mmol/L, respectively ( P=0.047),and postprandial cholesterol in LDL particles in the 2 nd hour and in the 4 th hour did not change significantly compared with fasting ( P>0.05). while the concentration of large LDL particles (185.2[150.6,221.6], 173.0[144.8,220.3], 178.1[144.0,233.6] nmol/L, P=0.001), and the cholesterol level in large LDL particles (0.49[0.39, 0.57], 0.47[0.38, 0.57], 0.46[0.37, 0.58]mmol/L, P<0.001) decreased after the meal. The PCSK9 level also decreased significantly after the meal (299[233, 397], 257[208, 342], 251[215, 340] ng/ml, P<0.001). There was an independent positive correlation between the decrease of PCSK9 levels and the increase of remnant cholesterol detected by MNRS after the meal ( r=0.232, P=0.035). Conclusions:The postprandial LDL-C level measured by NMRS and enzymatic assays is not consistent. The decrease of LDL-C measured by enzymatic assays is not caused by the clearance of LDL particles, but by the redistribution of cholesterol in each LDL subfraction.

OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the therapeutic effects of total saponins from Panax notognseng (PNS) combined with cyclophosphamide (CTX) in mice bearing hepatocellular carcinoma H22 cell xenograft.
METHODS:
We examined the effects of treatment with different concentrations of PNS on H22 cell proliferation for 24 to 72 h in vitro using CCK8 colorimetric assay. Annexin V/PI double fluorescence staining was used to detect the effect of PNS on apoptosis of H22 cells. Mouse models bearing H22 cell xenograft were established and treated with CTX (25 mg/kg), PNS (120, 240 or 480 mg/kg), alone or in combinations. After treatments for consecutive 10 days, the mice were euthanized for examinations of carbon clearance ability of the monocytes and macrophages, splenic lymphocyte proliferation, tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α), interleukin-2 (IL-2), serum hemolysin antibody level, blood indicators, and the tumor inhibition rate.
RESULTS:
Treatment with PNS concentration-dependently inhibited the proliferation and significantly promoted apoptosis of cultured H22 cells (P < 0.01). In the tumor-bearing mouse models, PNS alone and its combination with CTX both resulted in obvious enhancement of phagocytosis of the monocyte-macrophages, stimulated the proliferation of splenic lymphocytes, promoted the release of TNF-α and IL-2 and the production of serum hemolysin antibody, and increased the number of white blood cells, red blood cells and lymphocytes in the peripheral blood. Treatment with 480 mg/kg PNS combined with CTX resulted in a tumor inhibition rate of 83.28% (P < 0.01) and a life prolonging rate of 131.25% in the mouse models (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSION
PNS alone or in combination with CTX can improve the immunity and tumor inhibition rate and prolong the survival time of H22 tumor-bearing mice.
