Objective:To investigate the characteristics and clinical effects of laparoscopic pneumovesical Cohen and laparoscopic Lich-Gregoir ureteral replantations for the treatment of primary obstructive megaloureter (POM) in children. Methods:A randomized controlled study was conducted. The clinical data of 51 children with unilateral POM admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from October 2018 to October 2023 were collected.Random number table method was used in the selection of surgical methods. They were divided into the laparoscopic pneumovesical Cohen ureteral replantation group (group A, 22 cases) and the laparoscopic Lich-Gregoir ureteral replantation group (group B, 29 cases) according to the surgical method. The anterior-posterior diameter(APD), maximum ureteral diameter and differential renal function parameters on the affected side were measured by color Doppler ultrasound of the urinary system, and compared between and within the two groups before and after surgery. The operation time, blood loss and postoperative intubation time were compared between the two groups. The incidence of postoperative complications such as reflux, bladder spasm, urinary retention and urinary tract infection was recorded. The independent and paired sample t-tests were used for statistical analysis. Results:The operation time and hematuria duration of group B [(125.7±14.2) min, (1.5±0.6) d] were significantly shorter than those of group A [(142.6±14.7) min, (2.8±0.7) d] (all P<0.05). The APD, maximum ureteral diameter, and differential renal function on the affected side of group A were (21.7±7.9) mm, (11.6±3.2) mm, and (28.2±4.9)% before surgery, and (10.3±4.5) mm, (6.0±2.0) mm and (43.8±4.4)% after surgery, respectively. The APD, maximum ureteral diameter, and differential renal function on the affected side of group B were (21.1±5.6) mm, (11.3±4.6) mm, and (30.2±5.5)% before surgery, and (10.2±4.5) mm, (6.6±2.0) mm, and (42.4±5.2)% after surgery, respectively. There was no statistically significant difference in the values of APD, maximum ureteral diameter, and differential renal function before and after surgery between the two groups of children (all P>0.05). However, there were statistically significant differences in the values of APD, maximum ureteral diameter, and differential renal function before and after surgery between the same group of children (all P<0.01). No significant difference was found in intraoperative blood loss, postoperative intubation time, and postoperative complications between the two groups (all P>0.05). Conclusions:Both surgical methods are effective in the treatment of POM in children.Laparoscopic Lich-Gregoir ureteral replantation has advantages of less operation time compared with laparoscopic pneumovesical Cohen ureteral replantation.

Journal of Experimental Hematology 2025;33(2):442-446
OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the significance of HALP score as a prognostic indicator for newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (MM).
METHODS:
Clinical data of 62 newly diagnosed MM patients in our hospital from January 2020 to December 2022 were collected and retrospectively analyzed. The difference in age, sex, DS stage, R-ISS stage, M protein type, serum creatinine (Scr), β2-microglobulin (β2-MG), blood calcium, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), hemoglobin (Hb), albumin (ALB), platelet count (PLT), and absolute lymphocyte count (ALC) between patients with low and high HALP scores were analyzed. The prognostic value of the above indexes in newly diagnosed MM patients was analyzed by univariate and multivariate analysis.
RESULTS:
The optimal cut-off value of HALP score was 41 determined by X-tile software. Based on this, 62 patients were divided into a high HALP group (HALP>41, n=25) and a low HALP group (HALP≤41, n=37). The proportion of patients with Hb≥100 g/L in the high HALP group was significantly higher than that in the low HALP group (P <0.05). The median overall survival (OS) time of patients in the high HALP group and low HALP group were 29 (9-39) months and 20 (4-29) months, respectively, with statistically significant difference between the two groups (P <0.01). Univariate analysis showed that R-ISS stage, ALB, Hb, ALC and HALP were closely related to the prognosis of patients (P <0.05). COX regression multivariate analysis showed that R-ISS stage Ⅲ (HR=4.443, 95%CI : 1.480-13.343,P =0.008) and HALP≤41(HR=8.823, 95%CI : 1.858-41.910,P =0.006) were independent risk factors for shortened OS in newly diagnosed MM patients. The median OS of patients with high HALP at R-ISS stage Ⅲ was significantly higher than that of patients with low HALP at the same stage, and the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05).
CONCLUSION
HALP score can be used as a prognostic indicator for newly diagnosed MM patients.

Chinese Journal of Neuromedicine 2025;24(9):901-908
Objective:To explore whether a history of cardiovascular disease (CVD) history in the middle-aged and elderly populations in China is an independent risk factor for Parkinson's disease (PD).Methods:Based on China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) database, middle-aged and elderly populations aged 45 years and above in China who did not have PD in 2011 were chosen; their demographic characteristics, health status and lifestyle were collected. These individuals were divided into a PD group and a non-PD group based on whether they had been diagnosed as having PD during follow-up survey in 2020. Multivariate Logistic regression was performed to analyze the association between CVD history and PD. Stratified analysis was conducted based on age (whether ≥60 years old), gender, educational attainment, and presences of chronic lung disease history, diabetes and high blood sugar history, and interaction effects of the above factors with CVD history were analyzed to examine the robustness in different populations. PROCESS software was applied to construct a single mediator chain reaction model; with average daily sleep duration and depression score (based on Depression Scale from Center for Epidemiologic Studies) one month before survey as mediator variables, mediating effect was analyzed. Results:A total of 10,465 individuals were ultimately included, including 101 with PD and 10,364 without PD. CVD history ( OR=2.882, 95% CI: 1.610-5.159, P<0.001) was an independent risk factor for PD. For individuals with different gender, with presence of chronic lung diseases history, aged over 60 years, and with educational level of elementary school and above, and without diabetes or high blood sugar history, CVD history was significantly associated with PD onset ( P<0.05). Significant interations weren't revealed between the above factors with CVD history. The average daily sleep duration ( β=1.114, 95% CI: 0.687-1.540) and depression score ( β=1.060, 95% CI: 0.627-1.493) showed partial mediation effects between the two diseases (95% CI for direct effect parameters not including 0). Conclusion:Chinese middle-aged and elderly populations with CVD history are prone to have PD, with average daily sleep duration and depression score serving as potential mediating factors.

Roasting is a characteristic traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)processing technology, which has a long history. A large number of ancient books recorded the varieties and processing methods of roasted TCM. However, with the evolution of the times, there are relatively few studies on this processing technology in modern times. By consulting works related to herbs of the past, this study collected a total of 119 kinds of TCM roasting methods recorded in 123 ancient books and systematically summarized the historical evolution and development of TCM roasting methods. At the same time, the inclusion of roasted varieties in Chinese Pharmacopoeia of different editions, National Traditional Chinese Medicine Processing Specification(1988 edition), and provincial TCM processing specifications was sorted out. This paper reviews the research progress of the process, quality control, chemical composition, pharmacological action, and clinical application of roasted TCM and analyzes the evolution of the roasting technology, in order to provide a literature basis for optimizing roasting process parameters, establishing the quality standard of roasted decoction pieces, explaining the processing theory of roasting, and promoting rational clinical application.
