Background:Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge,commonly known as"Danshen"in China due to the distinctive red color of its roots,is one of the most widely used traditional Chinese medicines.It is cultivated in various regions across China,and environmental differences among these regions can affect the secondary metabolites of plants,thereby influencing the quality of S.miltiorrhiza.In recent years,increasing demand for S.miltiorrhiza has exacerbated the problem of origin fraud.Therefore,ensuring the authenticity of its geo-graphical origin is crucial for the sustainable development of the industry.Objective:The red coloration of S.miltiorrhiza is closely associated with the content of its primary active compounds,particularly tanshinones.Therefore,both its internal chemical composition and external color characteristics serve as key indicators for quality assessment.This study utilized hyperspectral imaging technology to evaluate its potential in classifying the geographical origin of S.miltiorrhiza.Methods:Spectral data reflecting the internal chemical properties of S.miltiorrhiza were integrated with color information represent-ing its external features through 3 levels of data fusion.These fused datasets were then combined with deep learning algorithms to achieve accurate origin classification.Results:The results demonstrated that the Transformer model combined with soft-voting decision-level fusion achieved the highest classification accuracy of 98.72％by integrating image color and short-wave infrared spectral data.Conclusion:This study demonstrates that integrating hyperspectral imaging spectral data with color information provides a reliable and innovative approach for verifying the authenticity and traceability of S.miltiorrhiza.

Periodontitis is an inflammatory disease caused by bacterial infection directly, and the dysregulation of host immune-inflammatory response finally destroys periodontal tissues. Current treatment strategies for periodontitis mainly involve mechanical scaling/root planing (SRP), surgical procedures, and systemic or localized delivery of antimicrobial agents. However, SRP or surgical treatment alone has unsatisfactory long-term effects and is easy to relapse. In addition, the existing drugs for local periodontal therapy do not stay in the periodontal pocket long enough and have difficulties in maintaining a steady, effective concentration to obtain a therapeutic effect, and continuous administration always causes drug resistance. Many recent studies have shown that adding bio-functional materials and drug delivery systems upregulates the therapeutic effectiveness of periodontitis. This review focuses on the role of biomaterials in periodontitis treatment and presents an overview of antibacterial therapy, host modulatory therapy, periodontal regeneration, and multifunctional regulation of periodontitis therapy. Biomaterials provide advanced approaches for periodontal therapy, and it is foreseeable that further understanding and applications of biomaterials will promote the development of periodontal therapy.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the effects of cluster needling at the scalp points on the expression of choline acetyl transferase (ChAT) and choline cholinesterase (AchE). METHODS: A total of 60 Wistar rats were randomized into a sham-operation group, a model group, a medication group and a cluster needling group, 15 rats in each one. In the model group, the medication group and the cluster needling group, the models of Alzheimer's disease (AD) were established by the orienteering injection with Aβ1-42 in the bilateral hippocampal CA1 in the rats. In the sham-operation group, the distilled water was injected in bilateral hippocampus of rats. In the medication group, the lavage with aricept was adopted for the basic treatment, once a day, for 4 weeks consecutively. In the cluster needling group, on the base of the treatment as the medication group, the cluster needling at the scalp points was adopted, once a day, 6 times a week, for 4 weeks totally. In the sham-operation group and the model group, the normal feeding was provided. After intervention, the learning and memory ability was measured with Morris water maze in the rats of each group. The changes in the hippocampal gross structure were observed with HE staining. The changes in the positive expressions of hippocampal ChAT and AchE were determined with the immunohistochemical method. RESULTS: Compared with the sham-operation group, the escape latency was prolonged and the percentage of the second quadrant and the frequency of platform leaping were reduced in the rats of the model group (all <0.01). Compared with the model group, the escape latency was shortened and the percentage of the second quadrant and the frequency of platform leaping were increased in the rats of the cluster needling group and the medication group (<0.05, <0.01). Compared with the medication group, the escape latency was shortened and the percentage of the second quadrant and the frequency of platform leaping were increased in the rats of the cluster needling group (all <0.05). Compared with the sham-operation group, the expression of ChAT was decreased and that of AchE increased in the model group (both <0.01). Compared with the model group, the difference was not significant in ChAT expression (>0.05) and the expression of AchE was reduced (<0.05) in the medication group; the expression of ChAT was increased (<0.05) and that of AchE decreased (<0.01) in the cluster needling group. Compared with the medication group, the expression of ChAT was increased and that of AchE decreased in the cluster needling group (both <0.05). CONCLUSION The effect mechanism of cluster needling at the scalp points on AD could be related to the up-regulation of ChAT expression and down-regulation of AchE expression in the hippocampus. The combined treatment with the cluster needling and aricept achieves the better therapeutic effect on AD.

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of modified Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Tang on patient with lower-extremity arterial disease (LEAD) with deficiency of Qi and Yin and blood stasis syndrome, and study the antioxidant mechanism. Method:One hundred and twenty-eight patients were randomly divided into control group (64 cases) and observation group (64 cases) by random number table. Patients in control group was treated for controlling blood sugar, blood pressure and blood fat, and got probucol in the morning and evening, 0.5 g/time, 2 times/days, aspirin enteric-coated tablets for 3 months, 100 mg·d^-1, and alprostadil injection diluted with 10 mL normal saline for 15 days, 10 μg·d^-1, 1 time/day. A course of the treatment in control group was 15 days, and there were 4 courses. In addition to the therapy of control group, patients in observation group were additionally given modified Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Tang, 1 dose/day, for 3 months. Before and after treatment, ankle brachial index (ABI) and toe branch index (TBI) were detected, and internal diameter of dorsal artery of foot, peak velocity and blood flow were detected by color Doppler ultrasound. Main symptoms and sign were scored. And levels of interleukin-1 (IL-1), Homocysteine (Hcy), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), high sensitive C reactive protein (hs-CRP), cystatin C (CysC), malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and oxidized low density lipoprotein (OX-LDL) were detected. Result:According to the rank test, clinical effect in observation group was better than that in control group (P<0.05). And levels of ABI, TBI and SOD were higher than those in control group (P<0.01). The ameliorate of internal diameter of dorsal artery of foot, peak velocity and blood flow were better than those in control group, and scores of intermittent postscript, lower extremity pain, dorsalis pedis artery pulsation, skin color, skin temperature, numbness of limbs, swelling of extremities and the sign and levels of IL-1, Hcy TNF-α, hs-CRP, Cys-C and Ox-LDL were lower than those in control group (P<0.01). Conclusion:Modified Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Tang can relieve symptoms and signs, lower limb vascular function and hemodynamic, with certain anti-inflammatory effect and oxidative stress. It can also reduce vascular endothelial cell injury, and relieve and postpone the progress of LEAD

GC-MS and LC-MS are the main techniques used for the structural identification of new psychoactive substances at present. However, they are hard to give accurate structure information because of the hardly available corresponding reference standards and the quickly changing status of these compounds. This leads tremendous obstacle on the rapid identification of new psychoactive substances. Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy is one of the most effective methods for structures identification. Therefore, NMR is especially suitable for the analysis and identification of new psychoactive substances even with rapid structural changes. This article summarizes the NMR applications for the structural analysis of new psychoactive substances including synthetic cannabinoids, synthetic cathinones, piperazines, phenethylamines, ketamine & phencyclidine-type substances, and fentanyls. It is found that the NMR signals of the main frame structure of each kind of the new psychoactive substances are basically the same. Hence, these frame structure NMR signals can provide scientific evidence for the rapid identification of new psychoactive substances. This article also look ahead the prospect for the application of LC-NMR and DOSY in new psychoactive substances, which provides new ideas for the screening of new psychoactive substances.

Objective To evaluate the effect of flurbiprofen axetil pretreatment on the level of central β-endorphin in a rat model of incisional pain.Methods Fifty-four SPF male healthy Sprague-Dawley rats,aged 6-7 weeks,weighing 180-230 g,were divided into 3 groups (n=18 each) using a random number table:control group (group C),incisional pain group (group Ⅰ) and flurbiprofen axetil pretreatnent group (group FA).At 30 min before the model of incisional pain was established,fat emulsion 1 ml was injected via the caudal vein in group Ⅰ,and flurbiprofen axetil 6 mg/kg (diluted to 1 ml in fat emulsion) was injected via the caudal vein in group FA.The mechanical paw withdrawal threshold (MWT) was measured at 1 day before establishment of the model and 1,6 and 12 h after establishment of the model (T1-3).The rats were sacrificed after measurement of pain threshold at T1-3,and the lumbar enlargement segment of the spinal cord and hypothalamic arcuate nucleus specimens were obtained for determination of β-endorphin content (by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) and β-endorphin expression (by immunohistochemistry).Results Compared with group C,the MWT was significantly decreased at T1-3 in I and FA groups,the content and expression of β-endorphin in the spinal cord were significantly decreased at T2,3,and the content and expression of β-endorphin in the hypothalamic arcuate nucleus were increased at T1 in group Ⅰ,and the content and expression of β-endorphin in the spinal cord and hypothalamic arcuate nucleus were significantly increased at T1-3 in group FA (P＜0.05).Compared with group Ⅰ,the MWT was significantly increased,and the content and expression of β-endorphin in the spinal cord and hypothalamic arcuate nucleus were increased at T1-3 in group FA (P＜0.05).Conclusion The mechanism by which flurbiprofen axetil pretreatment produces analgesic effect may be related to the increased level of central β-endorphine in a rat modal of incisional pain.
