Psychiatry Investigation 2021;18(12):1205-1212
Objective:
Abnormalities of static brain activity have been reported in schizophrenia, but it remains to be clarified the temporal variability of intrinsic brain activities in schizophrenia and how atypical antipsychotics affect it.
Methods:
We employed a resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) and a sliding-window analysis of dynamic amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (dALFF) to evaluate the dynamic brain activities in schizophrenia (SZ) patients before and after 8-week antipsychotic treatment. Twenty-six schizophrenia individuals and 26 matched healthy controls (HC) were included in this study.
Results:
Compared with HC, SZ showed stronger dALFF in the right inferior temporal gyrus (ITG.R) at baseline. After medication, the SZ group exhibited reduced dALFF in the right middle occipital gyrus (MOG.R) and increased dALFF in the left superior frontal gyrus (SFG.L), right middle frontal gyrus (MFG.R), and right inferior parietal lobule (IPL.R). Dynamic ALFF in IPL.R was found to significant negative correlate with the Scale for the Assessment of Negative Symptoms (SANS) scores at baseline.
Conclusion
Our results showed dynamic intrinsic brain activities altered in schizophrenia after short term antipsychotic treatment. The findings of this study support and expand the application of dALFF method in the study of the pathological mechanism in psychosis in the future.

OBJECTIVE: To prepare Paclitaxel(PTX)nanostructured lipid carriers (NLC) modified by small peptide alanine-glutamic acid-tyrosine-leucine-arginine (AEYLR), and to evaluate its anti-tumor effect in vitro and in vivo. METHODS: NLC, PTX-NLC (P-NLC) and AEYLR modified P-NLC (A-P-NLC) were prepared by emulsion evaporation-low temperature solidification curing method. Its appearance, particle size, multi-dispersion index(PDI) and Zeta potential were characterized, encapsulation rate, drug loading and in vitro drug release were detected respectively. Using NCI-H1299 and S180 cells as objects, CCK-8 method was adopted to investigate inhibitory effects of free PTX, P-NLC and A-P-NLC (0.44-44.00 μg/mL, by PTX) to those cells. The half inhibition concentration (IC50) was calculated. Using S180 tumor-bearing mice as model animal, anti-tumor effects of free PTX, P-NLC and A-P-NLC (5 mg/kg, by PTX) were evaluated. RESULTS: P-NLC and A-P-NLC were round-like and dispersed evenly. The particle size, PDI and Zeta potential of A-P-NLC were (43.92±0.76) nm, 0.203±0.034 and (-19.77±1.16) mV, which were all increased to certain extent, compared with P-NLC. The encapsulation efficiency and drug loading of A-P-NLC were (95.71±0.68)% and(1.97±0.25)%, which were both decreased to certain extent, compared with P-NLC. The cumulative release rate of A-P-NLC was(35.17±2.08)% within 48 h, showing significant sustained-release effect compared with free PTX; the release of A-P-NLC was slower than P-NLC. Compared with free PTX and P-NLC, inhibitory rates of same concentration of A-P-NLC to NCI-H1299 cells and S180 cells were almost increased significantly, while IC50 values were all decreased significantly. There was no death in S180 tumor-bearing mice treated with A-P-NLC and the general condition was good; the volume of tumors was significantly reduced, the mass of tumors was significantly reduced, and the inhibition rate of tumors was significantly increased (P<0.05 or P<0.01). CONCLUSIONS: A-P-NLC has significantly sustained-release effects; its inhibitory rate to NCI-H1299 cells and S180 cells in vitro, and its inhibitory effects on S180 solid tumor in mice are all better than free PTX and P-NLC, while the toxicity is decreased to certain extent.

Neurofeedback, as an alternative treatment method of behavioral medicine, is a technique which translates the electroencephalogram (EEG) signals to styles as sounds or animation to help people understand their own physical status and learn to enhance or suppress certain EEG signals to regulate their own brain functions after several repeated trainings. This paper develops a neurofeedback system on the foundation of brain-computer interface technique. The EEG features are extracted through real-time signal process and then translated to feedback information. Two feedback screens are designed for relaxation training and attention training individually. The veracity and feasibility of the neurofeedback system are validated through system simulation and preliminary experiment.

Objective To investigate the application of C- arm CT imaging technique in evaluating the efficacy of transarterial chemoembolization(TACE) for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). Methods During the period from Sep. 2012 to Mar. 2013 at authors’ hospital, C- arm CT scanning was employed during the performance of TACE in 80 patients with HCC. The residual active tumor lesions, Lipiodol deposition and the embolization of the feeding arteries after TACE therapy were assessed by C- arm CT plain scan images and the images of early artery phase and parenchymal phase, as well as the post- processing images. The efficacy of TACE was thus evaluated. Results A total of 139 hepatic tumors were detected in 80 patients by C- arm CT imaging. C- arm CT scanning performed immediately after TACE showed that satisfactory result was obtained in 128 lesions of 75 patients(128/139, 92.9%). Fewer, medium and more residual active tumors were seen in 78, 29 and 21 lesions respectively, while dense, moderate and thin Lipiodol deposition was seen in 64, 39 and 25 lesions respectively. After TACE therapy obvious decrease in blood supply was demonstrated in 101 lesions, while no obvious decrease in blood supply was seen in 27 lesions. Conclusion C- arm CT scanning after TACE for patients with HCC can conveniently, accurately and comprehensively reveal the residual active tumors, Lipiodol deposition and embolization status of feeding arteries. Therefore, this technique should be regarded as an important means to evaluate the efficacy of TACE.

Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2013;(8):764-765,766
The teaching methods were explored to improve the quality of medical genetic teaching for foreign students according to the common problems during the teaching process. The negative effects of communication barriers in medical genetic teaching could be reduced by interactive teaching or problem-based learning in groups,in which the ability to resolve problems by themselves could be improved. In order to improve the teaching systematicness and teaching quality, the teaching contents in class should be from simple to deep, covering genetic laws, pathogenesis, diagnosis and control measure of genetic diseases. From the perspective of practical application and combining with the construction of self-de-signed teaching textbook and cases, the quality of medical genetic teaching ultimately could be further improved.
