Osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures(OVCFs)are common orthopedic conditions that can lead to spinal pain and deformity, which greatly affects the quality of life of patients.Currently, there are various treatment methods for OVCFs,but there is still a lack of standards for optimal treatment modalities. Therefore, this article introduces the current treatment methods and character-istics of epidemiology for OVCFs,in order to improve the awareness of this disease among clinicians and provide a reference for select-ing more appropriate treatment regimens.Conservative treatment measures, such as bracing and analgesia, are the basic treatment mea-sures for OVCFs,and anti-osteoporosis drugs play a crucial role in management.Minimally invasive procedures, including percutane-ous vertebroplasty and percutaneous balloon kyphoplasty, remain the primary surgical interventions, and traditional open surgeries are also an important part of treatment, such as anterior spinal fusion, combined anterior and posterior spinal fusion, posterior spinal fusion with three-column osteotomy, and posterior spinal fusion with vertebroplasty.Furthermore, surgeons should focus on the accumulation of related surgical techniques and skills during surgery to effectively address the challenges and complications associated with surgical interventions. Finally, scientific and appropriate treatment methods should be selected for patients,in order to improve long-term treat-ment outcomes and increase the degree of satisfaction among pa-tients.

Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy of staged reconstruction with anterolateral thigh flap (ALTF) for wrist-forearm soft tissue defects of electrical burns. Methods:A retrospective observational study was conducted on 10 patients who had wrist-forearm soft tissue defects after electrical burns and were admitted in the Department of Burns, Zhengzhou First People's Hospital from January 2019 to December 2022. The patients were 6 males and 4 females, aged 8 to 64 years. All the patients were third-and-fourth degree electrical burns. Debridement was performed to remove the necrotic tissues around the wound in stage I surgery. Area of the wound after debridement ranged from 15 cm×11 cm to 31 cm×20 cm. According to the condition of wrist-forearm injury, the wounds with relatively mild injury were retained. Free ALTF was used to cover the wound surface. Size of the flaps ranged from 16 cm×12 cm to 32 cm×21 cm. The descending branch of lateral circumflex femoral artery and the accompanying veins carried by the flap were anastomosed end-to-end with the radial artery and vein or ulnar artery and vein in the recipient site, respectively. Conditions of other vessels were explored. The great saphenous veins in a length of 10-18 cm was used to bridge the occluded arteries. The donor sites were covered by medium thick skin grafts from trunk. After survival of the flap, stage Ⅱ surgery was carried out to debride the wound temporarily retained in stage I surgery and to thin the flap, then had all the wound covered with the thinned flap. Follow-ups were conducted at outpatient clinic, and via telephone and WeChat interviews. The limb salvage, flap survival, vascular compromise and other complications, as well as the donor site healing were observed. The wound coverage rate of the thinned flap. The appearance of flap, donor site scar hyperplasia, the patient satisfaction with the shape and function of the donor site at 6 months after the stage Ⅱ surgery were evaluated. Likert scale was employed to evaluate the patient satisfaction. The Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire (MHQ) and Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH) were used to evaluate the upper limb function in daily life of the patients. Results:The limb salvages in the 10 patients were all successful, and the flaps survived without any postoperative event of vascular compromise or other complication. One patient had mild cyanosis at the edges of flap after surgery and regressed at 7 days later. One flap had poor blood circulation and partial necrosis. The thinned flaps covered the wound completely after the stage-Ⅱ flap thinning surgery. The postoperative follow-up period was 6.0-7.0 months. All skin grafts in the donor sites survived well. The thinned flaps of stage Ⅱ surgery achieved 100% in wound coverage rate. At 6 months after surgery, the colour and texture of the flaps were about the same as those of the normal skin of the upper limb. There were linear scars in both of donor and recipient sites. Four patients were satisfactory to the postoperative appearance and function of the donor site and 6 patients were very satisfactory. MHQ scores were 49-82 (mean, 74) points; DASH scores were 27-45 (mean, 32) points. Conclusion:Reconstruction of the wounds in wrist-forearm soft tissue defects of electrical burns with ALTF in staged surgery, can improve the function and aesthetics of the wrist-forearm. It is a good method.

Objective:
To analyze the current situation and related factors of physical exercise behavior among high school students, so as to provide theoretical basis for improving their health level.
Methods:
In May 2022, a stratified cluster random sampling method was used to select 17 high schools in the jurisdiction of Taizhou City. A total of 3 402 high school students were selected by class to conduct a survey on the prevalence and related factors of physical exercise behavior by Chinese Sports Activity Level Scale. And binary Logistic regression analysis was conducted to analyze the influencing factors.
Results:
Among the surveyed high school students, the rate of poor physical exercise behavior reached 53.4%. The rates of poor physical exercise behavior varied within the group in terms of gender, urban and rural areas, whether they were only children, maternal education, parental emotions, parental exercise habits, parenting styles, family income and academic performance were statistically significant (χ2=12.38, 11.73, 742.71, 28.86, 24.38, 39.98, 71.92, 33.34, 176.97, P<0.01). High school students of grade 3, female students, parents with low education, parents who occasionally and never exercise, intergenerational discipline, low family income, and average academic performance were the tendency factors for poor physical exercise behavior(OR=1.39, 1.18, 1.62, 1.30, 1.36, 2.21, 1.53, 1.46, 1.52, P<0.05).
Conclusions
The rate of poor physical exercise behavior among high school students in Taizhou City is relatively high and is affected by various factors such as age, gender, academic performance, and family background. It should actively reduce the impact of unfavorable factors, promote high school students to participate in physical exercise, and improve the health level of high school students.

To analyze the correlation of ADH4 exon rs1126671 and ADH7 exon rs971074 polymorphisms with risky drinking behaviors and alcoholic liver disease. The patients with alcoholic liver disease diagnosed in the Gastroenterology Department of the People′s Hospital of Hechi from November 2021 to June 2022, including 52 cases of alcoholic liver disease with positive risky drinking behaviors, 103 cases of non-alcoholic liver disease with positive risky drinking behaviors of the same gender and age, and 105 healthy subjects with no risky drinking behaviors as control groups were retrospectively analyzed. The serum total protein and albumin are detected by immunoturbidimetry and globulin is calculated by the difference method; the serum total bilirubin and direct bilirubin are detected by the nitrite oxidation method and indirect bilirubin is calculated by the difference method; alkaline phosphatase, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase and γ-glutamyl transferase are detected by the substrate method. The results revealed that all 52 patients with alcoholic liver disease were male. The non-parametric independent sample Kruskal-Wallis test was adopted to analyze the baseline of twelve liver functions among the alcoholic liver disease group, the risky drinking behavior group and the healthy control group, and it was found there was statistical significance in ten major liver function indicators in the difference comparison among the three groups like serum total protein (g/L) 65.0 (60.1, 71.4), 73.4 (70.3, 76.3), 72.4 (69.2, 76.2) ( H=37.130, P<0.001); albumin (g/L) 36.1 (28.6, 42.9), 47.2 (45.0, 49.2), 47.5 (45.9, 49.5) ( H=14.503, P=0.001); direct bilirubin (μmol/L) 10.1 (35.6, 34.0.1), 3.8 (3.1, 5.45), 4.2 (2.9, 6.0) ( H=26.608, P<0.001); alkaline phosphatase (U/L) 106.0 (71.0, 164.0), 68.0 (57.5, 82.0), 70.0 (59.0, 87.0) ( H=27.904, P<0.001); albumin to globulin 1.34 (0.91, 1.88), 1.82 (1.65, 2.00), 1.89 (1.68, 2.07) ( H=11.047, P=0.004); direct bilirubin to indirect bilirubin 0.91 (0.69, 1.91), 0.41 (0.35, 0.54), 0.42 (0.34, 0.54) ( H=19.478, P<0.001); serum total bilirubin (μmol/L) 23.9 (13.7, 51.0), 13.8 (10.2, 17.9), 13.0 (10.1, 17.4) ( H=18.375, P<0.001); aspartate aminotransferase (U/L) 74.0 (39.0, 122.0), 22.0 (19.0, 28.0), 23.0 (19.0, 30.0) ( H=76.365, P<0.001); alanine aminotransferase (U/L) 37.0 (25.0, 55.0), 23.0 (17.0, 30.0), 24.0 (17.0, 33.8) ( H=57.041, P<0.001); γ-glutamyl transferase (U/L) 135.0 (45.0, 364.0), 33.0 (23.5, 49.5), 32.0 (19.0, 49.0) ( H=82.558, P<0.001); however, there were no statistical significance in the pairwise comparisons between risky drinking and healthy groups. The two loci of ADH4 and ADH7 were in genetic linkage equilibrium. In the three groups of samples, the ADH4 gene rs1126671 locus was comprised primarily of the CC homozygous genotype, and there was no TT genotype. The ADH7 gene rs971074 genotype had statistical difference in the comparison of the three groups ( χ2=9.370, P<0.05). Compared with the CC genotype, the CT genotype had no statistical difference in the pairwise comparison between the risky drinking behavior group and alcoholic liver disease group, and the healthy group and alcoholic liver disease group. There was a statistical difference in that between the healthy group and the risky drinking behavior group ( χ2=6.372, P=0.012). The analysis display of mode of inheritance between RD group and HA group was statistically significant in the difference of the superdominance inheritance mode ( OR=2.92, 95% CI:1.22-6.98; P=0.012), the dominant inheritance mode ( OR=2.90, 95% CI:1.26-6.64; P=0.008), the co-dominant inheritance mode ( OR=2.96, 95% CI:1.24-7.08; P=0.032) and the additive mode ( OR=2.46, 95% CI:1.16-5.22; P=0.013). In general, the CT genotype of ADH7 gene rs971074 is a risk factor for positive risky drinking behavior, and the ADH family may still increase the susceptibility of people with a potential alcoholic liver disease protection background through the correlation between ADH7 and risky drinking behavior.

Aurora kinase A (Aurora-A), a serine/threonine kinase, plays a pivotal role in various cellular processes, including mitotic entry, centrosome maturation and spindle formation. Overexpression or gene-amplification/mutation of Aurora-A kinase occurs in different types of cancer, including lung cancer, colorectal cancer, and breast cancer. Alteration of Aurora-A impacts multiple cancer hallmarks, especially, immortalization, energy metabolism, immune escape and cell death resistance which are involved in cancer progression and resistance. This review highlights the most recent advances in the oncogenic roles and related multiple cancer hallmarks of Aurora-A kinase-driving cancer therapy resistance, including chemoresistance (taxanes, cisplatin, cyclophosphamide), targeted therapy resistance (osimertinib, imatinib, sorafenib, etc.), endocrine therapy resistance (tamoxifen, fulvestrant) and radioresistance. Specifically, the mechanisms of Aurora-A kinase promote acquired resistance through modulating DNA damage repair, feedback activation bypass pathways, resistance to apoptosis, necroptosis and autophagy, metastasis, and stemness. Noticeably, our review also summarizes the promising synthetic lethality strategy for Aurora-A inhibitors in RB1, ARID1A and MYC gene mutation tumors, and potential synergistic strategy for mTOR, PAK1, MDM2, MEK inhibitors or PD-L1 antibodies combined with targeting Aurora-A kinase. In addition, we discuss the design and development of the novel class of Aurora-A inhibitors in precision medicine for cancer treatment.

Fourteen children (23 eyes) with intraocular RB who died after receiving treatment in Beijing Children's Hospital from 2009 to 2017 were included in the study. Among the children, there were 7 males (10 eyes) and 7 females (13 eyes); 5 had unilateral and 9 had bilateral tumor. Age were 17.2±15.5 months. All children underwent RetCam examination. RB was staged according to the international intraocular RB classify. Among the 23 eyes, 1 eye was in stage B, 2 eyes were in stage C, 12 eyes in stage D, and 8 eyes in stage E. Treatment methods included a systemic (vincristine, etoposide and carboplatin) chemotherapy (VEC chemotherapy), enucleation surgery, and vitrectomy. The basic conditions including age, time of diagnosis, pathological diagnosis, treatment and main causes of death were retrospectively analyzed. Results:Among the 14 cases, the first symptom was leukemia in 12 cases, red eye in 1 case, and squintin in 1 case. Systemic VEC chemotherapy was used for 1-6 courses of treatment; 5 cases were enucleated, 3 cases underwent histopathological examination; 3 cases were treated with vitrectomy. Among the 3 cases who underwent histopathological examination, the sclera and optic nerve, optic nerve and optic disc were invasted respectively. Seven patients died of tumor metastasis and/or intracranial lesions (50.0%, 7/14); the median survival time was 19 months. Four patients died of treatment (28.6%, 4/14), including 3 patients died of chemotherapy-related side effects, and 1 died of organ failure after enucleation surgery (7.1%); the median survival time was 3.5 months. Early abandonment of treatment died in 3 cases (21.4%, 3/14); the median survival time was 15 months. Conclusion:Intracranial metastasis is the main cause of death in children with intraocular RB.

Objective:To discuss the long-term survival and risk factors of thyroid cancer in the real world in China. Methods:The clinical data of thyroid cancer patients who underwent initial surgery from Apr. 1998 to Dec. 2018 were retrospectively analyzed, including patients’sex, age, surgical records, pathology, hospitalization records and follow-up. According to the prognosis, the patients were divided into disease-free survival group and recurrence/metastasis/death group. Univariate analysis and multivariate regression analysis were conducted to analyze the risk factors affecting the prognosis of thyroid cancer. The clinical features and prognostic risk factors of thyroid cancer patients were investigated. Results:A total of 2038 cases were collected, and the longest follow-up time was more than 20 years. A total of 1876 cases were included in the study, 162 cases were lost, and the rate of follow-up was 7.9%. Among them, 1858 survived, the overall survival rate was 99.04%; 18 died, and the overall mortality rate was 0.96%. According to the prognosis of thyroid cancer, the patients were divided into 2 groups, including 1808 cases in the disease-free survival group and 68 cases in the relapsed-metastatic-death group. The study found that there were statistical differences between the two groups in terms of patients’age [ (45.40±11.016) vs (51.53±15.199, P=0.000) , the male ratio (32.854%, 48.529%, P=0.001) , whether tumor breaks through capsule (20.077%, 33.823%, P=0.006) , central lymph node metastasis (48.834%, 70.588%, P=0.001) and lateral lymph node metastasis (31.084%, 55.882%, P=0.000) , and there was no difference between the number of tumor lesions. Conclusion:Thyroid cancer has a good prognosis, but according to the characteristics of patients with thyroid cancer in my country, it should still be treated early in the clinic, and the standardization and thoroughness of surgery should be adhered to during the treatment.

The retrieved central lymph node number was 11.2±6.1 (range: 1 to 44),and the retrieved lateral lymph node number was 14.0±8.8 (range: 1 to 52). Postoperative transient hypoparathyroidism and vocal cord palsy occurred in 247(24.70%) and 56(5.60%) cases. Both of permanent hypoparathyroidism and vocal cord palsy occurred in 2 (0.20%) cases. Other surgical complications included chyle leakage (6.1%, 28/460), trachea injury (0.40%, 4/1 000), carotid artery injury (0.10%, 1/1 000). Local regional lymph node recurrence was developed in 4 patients. All patients were satisfied with the postoperative cosmetic outcomes. Conclusions:Robotic thyroidectomy by BABA is safe and effective, suitable for large benign tumors and early thyroid cancers with central or lateral lymph node metastasis. It could obtain superior cosmetic results.
