This article systematically analyzes the historical evolution of the name, origin, quality evaluation, harvesting, processing and other aspects of Picrorhizae Rhizoma by referring to the medical books, prescription books, and other documents of the past dynasties, combined with relevant modern research materials, in order to provide a basis for the development and utilization of famous classical formulas containing this medicinal herb. The research results indicate that Picrorhizae Rhizoma was first recorded in New Revised Materia Medica from the Tang dynasty. Throughout history, Huhuanglian has been used as its official name, and there are also aliases such as Gehu Luze, Jiahuanglian and Hulian. The main source of past dynasties is the the rhizomes of Picrorhiza kurrooa and P. scrophulariiflora. In ancient times, Picrorhizae Rhizoma was mainly imported by foreign traders via Guangzhou and other regions, and also produced in China, mainly in Xizang. In ancient times, it was harvested and dried in early August of the lunar calendar, while in modern times, it is mostly harvested from July to September, with the best quality being those with thick and crispy rhizomes without impurities, and bitter taste. Throughout history, Picrorhizae Rhizoma was collected, washed, sliced, and dried before being used as a raw material for medicine, it has a bitter and cold taste, mainly used to treat bone steaming, hot flashes, infantile chancre fever, and dysentery. There is no significant difference in taste and efficacy between ancient and modern times. Based on the research results, it is recommended that the rhizomes of P. scrophulariiflora in the 2020 edition of Chinese Pharmacopoeia, or the rhizomes of P. kurrooa, can be used in famous classical formulas containing this medicinal herb, which can be processed according to the processing requirements marked by the original formula. For those without clear processing requirements, the dried raw products are used as medicine.

This article systematically analyzes the historical evolution of the name, origin, medicinal parts, processing and other aspects of Euphorbiae Pekinensis Radix(EPR) by referring to the herbal medicine, medical books, prescription books and other documents of the past dynasties, combined with the relevant modern research materials, so as to provide a basis for the development and utilization of famous classical formulas containing this herbal medicine. According to research, EPR was first recorded in the Shennong Bencaojing in the name of Daji, and it is the correct name of the herbal medicine in all dynasties, there are also other aliases such as Qiongju, Hongya Daji, and Xiamaxian. The dried roots of Euphorbia pekinensis from Euphorbiaceae was the mainstream of the past dynasties. Before the Ming dynasty, the above ground parts of E. pekinensis were used as Zeqi in herbal works. However, since LI Shizhen in the Ming dynasty proposed that the origin of Zeqi should be E. helioscopia, the aerial part of EPR is no longer used as medicine. Since modern times, the roots of Knoxia valerianoides has been used as EPR, and has become the mainstream of commodities, which should be corrected. Throughout history, it has been recorded that the main producing areas were Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Shanxi and other regions, while modern botanical survey have shown that EPR is a widespread species distributed throughout the country. In ancient times, the harvesting time of EPR was mostly the twelfth lunar month, while in modern time, it is more common to harvest in autumn and winter. The main processing methods of EPR in ancient times were vinegar processing, wine processing, and stir frying, while in modern times, it is uniformly vinegar processing. In the medicinal properties and clinical aspects, the records are basically consistent throughout history, mainly characterized by bitter taste, cold and toxic nature. Its main efficacy is expelling water retention and reducing swelling. Based on the textual research, it is suggested to choose the dried roots of E. pekinensis when famous classical formulas containing EPR, processing method can be based on the original specified prescription requirements, if the processing method is not clear, it is recommended to use vinegar-processed products as medicine.

This paper systematically combed and verified the name, origin, producing area, quality evaluation, harvesting, processing of Euryales Semen in famous classical formulas by consulting relevant ancient materia medica, medical books, prescription books and modern literature. The results showed that Euryales Semen was first collected by materia medica under the name of Jitoushi, and since the Ming dynasty, Qianshi has been used as a proper name and continues to this day, with other aliases such as Yanhuishi. Euryale ferox, a plant of the Nymphaeaceae family, is the same as that used in the past dynasties. However, due to long-term artificial domestication, the varieties vary with the origin, including Beiqian and Suqian. The medicinal part of Euryales Semen is mature seed kernel, its origin of ancient records mainly includes Shandong, Jiangsu, Henan and other places, since the Ming and Qing dynasties, Euryales Semen produced in Suzhou has been highly praised. Since modern times, it has gradually summarized and formed the best quality evaluation method of Euryales Semen with full grains, white cross-section, powdery enough and no broken powder. The harvesting time in the past dynasties was mainly August or in autumn. The main processing methods in the past dynasties included peeling for powder, pounding powder after steaming, drying and frying. Up to now, two mainstream processing methods of cleansing and stir-frying have been formed. Based on the research results, it is recommended that the mature seed kernel of E. ferox be used in famous classical formula Yihuangtang. Combined with the processing requirements of the original formula, it is suggested to refer to the stir-frying method in the general principles of processing of the current edition of Chinese Pharmacopoeia.

Objective According to results from the two-month consecutive surveillance program in Maanshan, six suspected cases of non-O1 non-O139 Vibrio (V.) cholerae infection, were found that called for identification of pathogens as well as molecular-epidemiological analysis to determine the aggregation of the epidemic situation. Methods Biochemical and serotype identification, hemolysis test, and drug sensitive test were used to detect the drug resistance spectrum.Real-time PCR and conventional PCR were used to detect the presence of V.cholerae specific genes, virulent genes and its related genes, including ompW,ctx, tcpA,toxR,hlyA,zot, ace, rstR and g ⅢCTX.Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) was used to analyze the molecular type of strains. Results All the six isolates of non-O 1 non-O 139 V.cholerae were identified by biochemical and serologic tests, and appeared to be β hemolytic.Twelve out of the 14 kinds of drugs showed 100% sensitive. All isolates were positive of ompW gene by real-time PCR,but negative for ctx, tcpA,zot, ace, rstR and gⅢ CTK.Five of the six isolates were positive for toxR and hlyA,except for strain 1001434446.All strains had different PFGE types, but two strains had similar types. All strains had a low similarity compared to the toxigenic V.cholerae.Conclusion Six cases ofnon-O1 and non-O139 nontoxigenic V.cholerae infection appeared in the same period.Along with epide(m)iological information,we noticed that these cases had a sporadic nature, but frequently appeared in the same area.We got the impression that public health measurements should be strengthened, with special attention paid to those diarrhea outbreaks caused by non-O 1 /non-O 139 strains since V.cholerae had appeared in low incidence.

Objective To investigate changes in the nental health status of the ship crew onboard surface naval vessels during a prolonged deployment, so as to provide scientific basis for the development of sound psychological health service measures for the ship crew. Methods Reproducibility and cross - sectional survey were conducted to investigate the emotional status of the ship crew aboard a certain naval surface vessel with symptom check list (SCL-90), 7 days before deployment, and on the 77th, 142nd, and 204th days after deployment during a prolonged ocean - going voyage. The obtained data were compared with the norms of the Chinese servicemen. Results The mental health status of the ship crew was on the whole in good mode before deployment. Total average score and various SCL-90 patterns were obviously lower than the norms of the Chinese servicemen(P<0. 05 ). On the 77th day after deployment, the psychological state of the ship crew degraded markedly, manifested by the elevation of the SCL-90 total mean score and other scores, such as somatizaion, hostility, crankiness and other factors, when compared with those after deployment( P <0. 05 ).Of all the scores, the scores of hostility and crankiness were significantly higher than the norms of the Chinese servicemen( P <0. 01 ). Total SCL-90 average score and various factor scores on the 142nd and 204th days after deployment dropped sharply, except that one other factor score of SCL-90 was higher than that before deployment(P <0. 01 ). Screening positive rate of SCL-90 indicated that positive rates on the 77th( 15. 1% )and 204th days ( 20% ) were all obviously higher than that of pre - deployment( 2. 4% ) ( P < 0. 01 ). However,no statistical differences could be seen in the scores on 142nd day(7.7% ), when compared with that of predeployment(2. 4% ) ( P > 0. 05 ). Conclusions The psychological status of the ship crew, on the whole, degraded markedly during the initial stage of a prolonged deployment, then, would gradually come to normal with adaptation thereafter. Nevertheless, individual psychological status showed a tendency of obvious differentiation in the late stage of deployment.
