OBJECTIVE To evaluate the efficacy of Compound glutamine enteric-coated capsules in the treatment and prevention of radiotherapy- and chemotherapy-related intestinal dysfunction in patients with malignant tumors. METHODS PubMed, Embase, CNKI, and Wanfang data were searched to collect randomized controlled trial (RCT) and cohort studies comparing Compound glutamine enteric-coated capsules (experimental group) with or without other treatments versus other treatments or blank control (control group). The search period was from the establishment of each database to November 19, 2025. After literature screening, data extraction, and quality assessment, a meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.4 software. RESULTS A total of 23 studies were included, involving 2 014 patients. Meta-analysis results showed that the effective rate in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group, the overall incidence and moderate-to-severe incidence of radiotherapy- and chemotherapy-related intestinal dysfunction, quality of life scores, and interleukin-6 levels in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group ( P <0.05). However, no statistically significant differences were observed between the two groups in terms of Karnofsky Performance Status score improvement rate and tumor necrosis factor-α levels ( P >0.05). The results of subgroup analysis based on different medications in the control group showed that, when used for treatment, regardless of whether patients in the control group received blank control or positive control, the efficacy in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group ( P <0.05). When used for prevention, compared with patients who received blank control in the control group, the overall incidence and the incidence of moderate-to-severe radiotherapy- and chemotherapy-related intestinal dysfunction in the experimental group were significantly reduced ( P <0.05). No statistically significant difference was found in the overall incidence or incidences of moderate-to-severe radiotherapy- and chemotherapy-related intestinal dysfunction with positive control between the two groups ( P >0.05). CONCLUSIONS Compound glutamine enteric-coated capsules can effectively treat and prevent radiotherapy- and chemotherapy-related intestinal dysfunction in patients with malignant tumors, improve patients’ quality of life, and alleviate inflammatory responses.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects of ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (ω-3PUFA) combined with clomiphene on clinical efficacy, pregnancy and safety in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). METHODS A retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical data of 112 PCOS patients who received treatment in Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Hunan Prevention and Treatment Institute for Occupational Diseases from January 2022 to December 2023. According to the different treatment regimens, the patients were divided into single-drug group (60 cases) and drug-combination group (52 cases). Single-drug group was given clomiphene orally, and drug-combination group was given clomiphene+ω-3PUFA. Clinical efficacy, pregnancy status and the occurrence of adverse drug reaction (ADR) as well as ovarian function and oxidative stress indexes before and after treatment were compared between 2 groups. RESULTS The overall response rate (90.38% vs. 71.67%), ovulation rate (84.62% vs. 61.67%), and pregnancy rate (51.92% vs. 26.67%) were all markedly higher in drug combination group than single drug group ( P <0.05). Before treatment, there was no statistical significance in ovarian function and oxidative stress indexes between 2 groups ( P >0.05). Compared with before treatment, serum anti-Müllerian hormone levels, inhibin B concentr ations, and the number of cystic follicles in 2 groups were decreased significantly after 12 weeks of treatment ( P <0.05). The endometrial thickness increased significantly ( P <0.05), while the serum levels of malondialdehyde and advanced oxidation protein products decreased significantly ( P <0.05); the activities of serum superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase increased significantly ( P <0.05); the improvement of drug combination group was significantly better than single drug group ( P <0.05). The ovarian volumes in both groups were significantly smaller after treatment compared to before treatment ( P <0.05), but there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups ( P >0.05). There was no significant difference in the overall incidence of ADR between the two groups during the treatment ( P >0.05). CONCLUSIONS The combination of ω-3PUFA and clomiphene has a definite therapeutic effect on PCOS, which can effectively reduce the body’s oxidative stress response, improve ovarian function, and increase ovulation and pregnancy rates.

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical effectiveness of horticultural therapy involving the planting of Chinese medicinal herbs (mint and lily potted plants) combined with intradermal needling therapy for generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) of liver depression transforming into fire syndrome under transcranial magnetic stimulation and basic psychological therapy, and to explore the possible mechanisms of action. MethodsA total of 180 patients with GAD of liver depression transforming into fire syndrome were randomly divided into three groups, horticultural therapy group, intradermal needling group, and horticultural therapy+intradermal needling group, with 60 patients in each. All groups received basic treatment including basic psychological therapy and transcranial magnetic stimulation. The horticultural therapy group received horticultural therapy in addition to the basic treatment; the intradermal needling group received intradermal needling therapy once a week for 8 weeks in addition to the basic treatment; the horticultural therapy+intradermal needling group received both horticultural therapy and intradermal needling therapy, following the same procedures and duration. Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAMA), Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) scores were assessed at baseline and after 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks of treatment. Serum levels of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and corticosterone (CORT) were measured before treatment and after 8 weeks of treatment. Motor-evoked potential (MEP) baseline levels were recorded before treatment, and MEP amplitude ratios were compared after 1 week and 8 weeks of treatment. Clinical effectiveness and safety were evaluated after 8 weeks of treatment. Pearson correlation analysis was used to examine the relationships between serum ACTH and CORT levels, MEP amplitude, and anxiety. ResultsIn the horticultural therapy group and intradermal needling group, HAMA, SAS and PSQI scores after 4, 6, and 8 weeks treatment were lower than baseline scores (P<0.05). In the horticultural therapy+intradermal needling group, these scores showed a significant decline starting after 2 weeks treatment and continuing through 8 weeks after treatment (P<0.05). The HAMA, SAS, and PSQI scores in the horticultural therapy+intradermal needling group were significantly lower than those in the other two groups after 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks treatment (P<0.05). After 8 weeks of treatment, serum CORT and ACTH levels in the horticultural therapy+intradermal needling group were significantly lower than baseline levels (P<0.05) and were also lower than those in the horticultural therapy group and intradermal needling group at the same time point (P<0.01). When comparing the level after 8 weeks treatment to that after 1 week treatment, under PAS10 stimulation, the MEP amplitude ratio in the intradermal needling group decreased at 30 minutes, while in the horticultural therapy+intradermal needling group, the MEP amplitude ratio decreased at all time points (P<0.05 or P<0.001); under PAS25 stimulation, the MEP amplitude ratio in the horticultural therapy group increased at 20 minutes, and in the intradermal needle group at 10 minutes (P<0.05). In the horticultural therapy+intradermal needling group, the MEP amplitude ratio increased significantly at all time points after treatment (P<0.001). The cure rate in the horticultural therapy+intradermal needling group (74.14%, 43/58) was significantly higher than that in the horticultural therapy group (30.00%, 18/60) and the intradermal needling group (48.28%, 28/58, P<0.05). Correlation analysis revealed that serum ACTH and CORT levels were positively correlated with HAMA scores (r = 0.488, P<0.01; r = 0.428, P<0.01). Following PAS10 intervention, the MEP amplitude ratio was positively correlated with HAMA scores (r = 0.458, P<0.01), whereas after PAS25 intervention, the MEP amplitude ratio was negatively correlated with HAMA scores (r = -0.562, P<0.01). ConclusionHorticultural therapy combined with intradermal needling treatment, under transcranial magnetic stimulation and basic psychological therapy, demonstrates significant clinical effectiveness in patients with GAD of liver depression transforming into fire syndrome. Its mechanism of action may be related to the regulation of hyperactivation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis and the reduction of cortical excitability.

Objective:To evaluate the sample preparation proficiency and storage proficiency of 11 clinical biobanks in Beijing through simulated experiments, and to establish an assessment method for the quality comparability of biological samples. Methods:An exploratory research design was adopted. In November 2023, artificial composite serum quality control materials containing six recombinant human protein markers—recombinant human alanine aminotransferase (rhALT), recombinant human aspartate aminotransferase (rhAST), recombinant human creatine kinase (rhCK), recombinant human creatine kinase-MB (rhCK-MB), recombinant human B-type natriuretic peptide (rhBNP), and recombinant human troponin I (rhTNI)—were distributed to 11 clinical biobanks in Beijing City. Sample preparation and storage followed the standardized operating procedures. Proficiency differences were assessed through statistical analysis.Results:Three-way repeated measures ANOVA revealed all six protein markers showed a declining trend over storage time in ultra-low-temperature environments ( F values 11.68-4 179.66, all P<0.01). However, neither long-term/temporary refrigerator types ( F values 0.01-1.23, all P>0.05)nor placement locations within refrigerators significantly affected the stability of these six proteins ( F valus 0.03-1.47, all P>0.05). The biases in detection results for rhALT, rhAST, rhTNI, and rhBNP at different storage time points were within the allowable bias limits for each item, supporting their use as markers for protein stability in biobank samples. All 11 institutions passed the storage proficiency assessment. In the preparation proficiency assessment, deviations were observed in post-preparation sample results, with a notably high out-of-control rate for rhCK (36.36%). Conclusion:Sample preparation proficiency can serve as a quality control metric for clinical biobanks. Future external quality assessment systems for biobanks should focus on sample preparation rather than storage processes.

Objective:To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of cases involving monkey injuries at medical institutions surrounding Qianlingshan Park in Guiyang City, and to provide a reference basis for preventive measures to reduce monkey injuries and standardized post-exposure treatment. Methods:A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted, collecting 1 900 cases of monkey-induced injuries in Qianlingshan Park treated at the outpatient clinic of Guizhou Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the Department of Surgery at Qianling Hospital, Guiyang City, from 2021 to 2024. Statistical analysis was performed using Pearson′s chi-square test. Results:Total of 1 900 cases of monkey-related injuries in Qianlingshan Park were collected from 2021 to 2024. The exposure time distribution exhibited significant seasonality, with 48.58% of cases occurring during July and August, totaling 923 cases, indicating a peak in the summer. There were 774 male patients and 1 126 female patients, with a ratio of 1∶1.45.and significant differences were observed between different age groups and genders (χ2=195.00, P<0.001), with the highest number of cases occurring in the 0-9 and 20-29 age groups, accounting for 22.05%(419 cases) and 21.79%(414 cases), respectively. The upper limbs were the most common injury site, accounting for 50.84% of the total cases(966 cases in total), with significant differences between gender and injury location (χ2=22.00, P<0.001), Among females, the proportion of injuries to the upper and lower limbs (30.11% and 16.47%, respectively) was higher than that among males (20.74% and 8.63%, respectively). The majority of injuries were classified as Grade Ⅲ, making up 57.38% of cases(1 069 cases in total). Self-treatment after exposure was the most common approach(60.44%), with significant differences observed between wound severity and treatment method (χ2=6.90, P=0.032), Patients with Grade Ⅱ and Grade Ⅲ wounds were more likely to choose self-management (26.84% and 33.23%, respectively) than outpatient management (15.14% and 24.15%). Approximately 98.05% (1 863 cases) of monkey-injured patients had received rabies vaccinations. Conclusions:This study analyzes monkey-related injuries in Qianlingshan Park from 2021 to 2024, clarifying the temporal distribution of injuries, demographic characteristics, injury sites, and treatment methods. The findings provide references for optimizing human-monkey conflict management and the prevention and control of zoonotic diseases in urban ecological parks.

Objective:To evaluate the short-term and long-term effects of different incentive strategies on attracting physicians from secondary and higher-level hospitals to work in primary health institutions, and to analyze the influencing factors in depth. Methods:Based on the preference probabilities of physicians from secondary and higher-level hospitals to work in primary health institutions, as measured by a discrete choice experiment model, a Markov model was constructed to simulate physician mobility between different types of health institutions. The model was used to assess the long-term attractiveness of various intervention strategies and to identify key factors affecting physicians′ decisions to work in primary health institutions. Results:Increasing salary by 10% and providing permanent positions (bianzhi) were found to be the most effective strategies for attracting physicians from secondary and higher-level hospitals to primary health institutions, increasing physicians′ preference probabilities by 54.5% and 58.5%, respectively. The 20-year Markov model simulation of physician mobility showed that, without intervention, the number of physicians in primary health institutions would decline from 171 to 33, while the gap with secondary and higher-level hospitals would continue to widen. Simulations examining the effects of different job attributes revealed that 9 factors, including working in township hospitals or community health service centers, maintaining or increasing current salary, having record-based tenure or bianzhi, working 40-60 hours or>40 h per week, and receiving higher local recognition and respect, could effectively attract physicians to primary health institutions. Among these, a 10% salary increase and bianzhi provision could increase the number of physicians in primary institutions to 361 and 364, respectively. Moreover, greater local recognition and respect for physicians could help sustain long-term growth in the number of primary healthcare physicians. Conclusions:Strategies of increasing annual salary and offering bianzhi can effectively attract a large number of high-quality physicians to primary health institutions in the short term; however, their effectiveness gradually diminishes over time. To achieve sustainable long-term in the number of physicians in primary health institutions, further research is needed to evaluate the effectiveness of other incentive strategies and to develop a comprehensive incentive strategy combination.

Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis 2025;15(5):1111-1126
Discoidin domain receptor 1(DDR1)is overexpressed in various tumors, such as triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC),and is rarely expressed in normal tissues. These characteristics make DDR1 a preferable target candidate for the construction of an antibody-drug conjugate(ADC)for targeted therapy. Here,we investigated the preparation and preclinical efficacy of DDR1-DX8951,an ADC that includes an anti-DDR1 monoclonal antibody conjugated to DX8951 by a cleavable Gly-Gly-Phe-Gly(GGFG)linker.The anti-DDR1 monoclonal antibody was coupled to DX8951(i.e.,DDR1-DX8951),producing the targeted ther-apy ADC.The antitumor activities of DDR1-DX8951 monotherapy or DDR1-DX8951 plus pembrolizumab were assessed in TNBC mouse models.DDR1-DX8951 can specifically target DDR1,be quickly internal-ized by TNBC cells, and reduce the viability of TNBC cells in vitro. The potent antitumor activity of DDR1-DX8951 was revealed in TNBC xenograft models.Importantly, our investigation demonstrated that DDR1-DX8951 plus pembrolizumab not only revealed the inhibitory efficacy on tumor growth and metastasis but also played an important role in improving the immunosuppressive tumor microenvi-ronment(TME)of TNBC.Taken together, this investigation provides justification for large-sample studies to further assess the safety and efficacy of DDR1-DX8951 plus pembrolizumab for TNBC clinical trials.
