Objective To summarize and analyze the clinical efficacy of negative pressure suction bell in the treatment of young children (≤6 years) with pectus excavatum. Methods The relevant clinical medical records of the children with pectus excavatum who received negative pressure suction bell treatment in the Outpatient Department of Children’s Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from May 2019 to January 2023 were collected. The age, sex, type, severity, depth of depression, duration of use and prognosis of children with pectus excavatum were retrospectively analyzed. Results A total of 100 pediatric patients were ultimately included in the study, comprising 74 males and 26 females. The age distribution was 57 patients aged 0-3 years and 43 patients aged 3-6 years. All patients were prescribed and used a negative pressure suction device for at least 3 months, after which they returned to our department's outpatient clinic for follow-up. The treatment demonstrated clinical effectiveness in 99 patients, yielding an efficacy rate of 99.00%. The excellent/good rate was 52.00%, and the complication rate was 8.00%. After treatment, the Haller index and the depth of sternal depression were reduced compared with those before treatment (P<0.001), and there was no statistical difference in the effective rate and excellent/good rate between different genders, different ages, different types of pectus excavatum, or different severity (P>0.05). Conclusion Negative pressure suction bell is safe and effective in the treatment of young children (≤6 years) with pectus excavatum, and the correction effect has nothing to do with gender, type and severity.

Clinical staging, Gleason score, and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) have been accepted as factors for evaluating the prognosis of prostate cancer (PCa). With the in-depth study of iron metabolism and the development of multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging technology, we used q-Dixon magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to measure the iron content of the PCa patients' lesions, and used enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to measure the iron metabolism indicators in the patients' serum samples, combined with the patients' postoperative clinical data for analysis. We found that the serum indexes were correlated with the T2 star values, International Society of Urological Pathology (ISUP) grade, and pathological classification in PCa patients (all P < 0.001) but not in benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) patients (all P > 0.05). The utilization of q-Dixon-based MRI and serum indexes allows the noninvasive measurement of iron content in prostate lesions and the assessment of differential iron metabolism between PCa and BPH, which may be helpful for evaluating the prognosis of PCa.

Objective: To explore the clinical characteristics, treatment methods and outcomes of extramedullary plasmacytoma of the head and neck. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 10 cases with extramedullary plasmacytoma of the head and neck who were admitted to Henan Tumor Hospital from January 2005 to January 2020. Among the 10 patients, 6 were male and 4 were female. The average age at diagnosis was 56.3 years old (34-74 years old). Among them, 3 cases were located in the nasal cavity, 2 cases in the nasopharynx, 1 case in the sinuses, 2 cases in the larynx, 1 case in the oropharynx, and 1 case in the cervical lymph nodes. Treatments were administered according to tumor size and resection extent. Complete surgical excision (negative margins) was preferred, followed by adjuvant radiotherapy or radiotherapy alone. The clinical characteristics, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of EMP were analyzed. Results: The patients' symptoms were not specific, frequently with local obstruction symptom and localized masses. All patients were confirmed pathologically as suffering from monoclonal plasmacytoma, with negative bone marrow biopsy and negative skeletal survey. Five patients received surgery, 3 received radiotherapy, and 2 received surgery with additional radiation. The follow-up time was 16-125 months, with a median of 92 months. Two patients developed into multiple myeloma. One patient who received radiotherapy after surgery relapsed after 7 years of follow-up and again received surgical treatment, with no evidence of second recurrence. The remaining patients had no recurrence or progression. Conclusion: Extramedullary plasmacytoma of the head and neck has a good prognosis. Surgical treatment can be considered for completely resectable lesions.

This project was launched to and establish the wavelength overlapping HPLC fingerprint for Danshen and determine the contents of 7 component in Danshen. The chromatographic fingerprints were built by using Agilent Eclipse Plus C_(18)( 4. 6 mm×100 mm,3. 5 μm) as stationary phase and 0. 1% formic acid solution( A)-acetonitrile( B) as mobile phase with gradient elution( 0-5 min,10%-20% B; 5-20 min,20%-30% B; 20-25 min,30%-50% B; 25-40 min,50%-65% B; 40-45 min,65%-80% B; 45-46 min,80%-10% B; 46-50 min,10% B) at a flow rate of 1 mL·min~(-1). The column temperature was maintained at 30 ℃ and the detection wavelength was set at 250,280,310 and 340 nm. The technique of wavelength overlapping fingerprint was established and the contents of 7 indicative compounds have been determined in this method. The results of wavelength overlapping HPLC fingerprint showed all-around information of the fingerprints at 250,280,310 and 340 nm,and the similarity among 17 batches of Danshen was over 0. 828-0. 936. In wavelength overlapping HPLC fingerprint,15 common peaks were selected as the common peaks, and 7 contents of them were indentified as rosmarinic acid, salvianolic acid B,salvianolic acid A,phenolic acid, dihydrotanshinone Ⅰ,tanshinone Ⅰ and tanshinone ⅡA. The results of methodological study demonstrated that the method met the requirements of the determination. The method established in this study is simple, convenient and durable, which can provide a scientific basis for the quality control of Danshen.

Objective To analyze the variations and drug resistance of influenza A (H3N2) viruses in Jiangsu Province in 2017, and provide evidence for prevention and control strategies on influenza. Methods Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was used for the sequencing of H3N2 subtype influenza strains. The influenza reference sequences were obtained from the global shared influenza site GISAID. The sequence alignment and phylogenetic analysis were performed using MAGE7.0 software. Viral resistance was analyzed by a neuraminidase inhibition assay. Results The H3N2 subtype influenza isolates and vaccine strains belonged to the 3C.2a branch of the H3 subtype. Some of the strains showed amino acid mutations on the immune-related sites named N121K, T135K and N171K. The isolates were sensitive to the flu drugs oseltamivir and zanamivir. Conclusion The H3N2 epidemic strains in Jiangsu have genetic recombination within subtypes and are still sensitive to neuraminidase inhibitors. As the H3N2 influenza virus mutations continue, a close monitoring of the viral genetic evolution and the drug resistant genes should be guaranteed.

Objective To evaluate the effect of damped least-square algorithm on the identification of focal bidirectional electrical impedance perturbation in the intracranial area, and to analyze the influence of this kind of perturbation on the reconstruction quality of electrical impedance tomography. Methods Focal bidirectional electrical impedance perturbation was built based on the three-dimensional model and damped least-square algorithm was introduced into imaging. The position error and resolution were used to evaluate the imaging performance. Results When the focal electrical impedance perturbation existed, the target whose conductivity varied greatly or volume was large was more likely to be identified in the images while the target with smaller volume or variable conductivity presented in the reconstruction image was not obvious. It's pointed out that it may cause reconstruction images in some cases could not truly reflect the location and change information of the object of primary cerebral hemorrhage. At the same time,it affected the reconstruction precision, causing the position error and resolution with large fluctuation. Conclusion In reconstruction algorithm linearity correct matrix introduced for bidirectional electrical impedance perturbation contributes to enhancing the recognition of bidirectional perturbation, so that the characterization of the electrical impedance imaging can be augmented for clinical intracerebral hemorrhage.
