Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), as a non-invasive neuroimaging technique, has been widely employed to investigate changes in functional brain regions. In recent years, the application of MRI in the study of lifelong premature ejaculation (LPE) has progressively uncovered the pathological mechanisms underlying abnormalities in LPE-associated brain regions. These mechanisms involve brain areas associated with higher-order cognitive and decision-making regulation, sensory and perceptual processing, as well as emotional regulation and reward systems. The application and findings of MRI in the study of LPE mechanisms will be introduced in this review, with the goal of deepening our understanding of the neuroimaging-based mechanisms of LPE.

Investigating the structural characteristics of proton tautomers is of great significance for understanding organic reactions and biochemical processes.In this study,a method based on ion mobility mass spectrometry combined with ab initio molecular dynamics calculations was proposed.The structures of proton tautomers were determined by comparing the experimental and theoretical collision-induced dissociation(CID)mass spectrograms of different proton tautomers.Ion mobility mass spectrometry was used to separate proton tautomerism produced during ionization.The CID mass spectra of each isomer could be obtained after mobility separation.The quantum chemical mass spectrometry(QCXMS)program based on ab initio molecular dynamics calculations was used to calculate the fragmentation process and obtain the theoretical CID mass spectra.The results of experiment and calculation showed that this method effectively solved the issue of difficult identification of proton tautomers.This method was also of great significance for the study of ionization mechanism and organic reaction process using mass spectrometry.

Objective To analyze the efficacy of two-staged laparoscopic Fowler-Stephens surgery through the Hay's triangle approach for the treatment of high cryptorchidism in children.Methods The clinical data of 116 children with high cryptorchidism in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed,among which 43 children who underwent laparoscopic testicular extraction and fixation through the Hay's triangle approach were selected as the control group,and 73 children who underwent two-staged laparoscopic Fowler-Stephens surgery through the Hay's triangle approach were selected as the study group.The changes of sex hormone levels and testicular function before and after surgery were compared between the two groups.All patients were followed up for 6 months,and the testicular volume was reviewed and the occurrences of complications were recorded.Results There was no significant difference in the testicular volume before and after surgery between the two groups(P>0.05),and there was no significant difference in the total incidence of postoperative complications between the two groups(P>0.05).After surgery,the levels of serum follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),estradiol(E2)and luteinizing hormone(LH)in the two groups were significantly lower than those before surgery(P<0.05),and the levels of serum testosterone(T),anti-Mullerian hormone(AMH),inhibin B(INHB)and INHB/FSH were significantly higher than those before surgery(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The two-staged Fowler-Stephens surgery is effective in the treatment of high-risk cryptorchidism.It can establish a good collateral circulation by disconnection of spermatic cord vessels and gubernaculum testis,and the testis can be lowered to a satisfactory position in the scrotum.

Objective:To investigate the expression of NOD-like receptor protein 3(NLRP3)inflammasome and its relation-ship with granulosa cell apoptosis in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS).Methods:Follicular fluid and ovarian granulosa cells were collected from 17 PCOS patients(PCOS group)and 20 non-PCOS patients(control group),and the expression levels of pro-inflammatory factor,TNF-α,IL-1β and IL-18 in follicular fluid were detected by ELISA.RT-PCR and Western blot were used to de-tect NLRP3 mRNA and NLRP3 inflammasome associated protein NLRP3,ASC and cleaved caspase-1 and autophagy related protein LC3-Ⅱ/LC3-Ⅰ and p62 expression level in granulosa cells.TUNEL assay was used to detect the apoptotic level of granulosa cells in both groups.NLRP3 silenced siRNA(si-NLRP3)and negative control sequence(si-NC)were transfected into human ovarian cancer granulosa cell line KGN cells by siRNA interference technique in vitro.TNF-α was used to simulate PCOS-related cell damage.KGN cells were divided into 4 groups according to different treatment methods:Ctrl group,TNF-α group,TNF-α+si-NLRP3 group and TNF-α+si-NC group.The levels of DHEA,testosterone,IL-1β and IL-18 in supernatant were detected by ELISA.TUNEL assay was used to detect the apoptosis level of KGN cells.The LC3-Ⅱ/LC3-Ⅰ and p62,NLRP3,ASC and cleaved caspase-1 protein expression levels,and NF-κB p-p65 level(NF-κB p-p65/NF-κB p65)in KGN cells were detected by Western blot.Results:Compared with con-trol group,the concentration of TNF-α,IL-1β,and IL-18 in follicular fluid of PCOS patients,and LC3-Ⅱ/LC3-Ⅰ,NLRP3 mRNA and the protein expression of NLRP3,ASC,and cleaved caspase-1 in granulosa cells of and apoptosis were significantly increased(P<0.05 or P<0.01),while the protein expression of p62 was significantly decreased(P<0.01).Compared with Ctrl group,the levels of DHEA,testosterone,IL-1β and IL-18 in supernatant of TNF-α group,TNF-α+si-NC group,and TNF-α+si-NLRP3 group,and LC3-Ⅱ/LC3-Ⅰ,ASC and cleaved caspase-1 protein expression,and the level of NF-κB p-p65 and apoptosis were significantly increased(P<0.05 or P<0.01),while p62 protein was significantly decreased(P<0.01).NLRP3 was significantly decreased except in TNF-α+si-NLRP3 group(P<0.01),while in the TNF-α group and TNF-α+si-NC group was significantly increased(P<0.01).However,com-pared with TNF-α group,the above indexes in TNF-α+si-NLRP3 group were significantly decreased(P<0.05),and TNF-α+si-NC group had no significant change(P>0.05).Conclusion:The over-activated NLRP3 inflammasome in granulosa cells may promote cell inflammatory injury and autophagy apoptosis in PCOS patients through NF-κB pathway.

Objective To investigate the spatiotemporal variations in sexual size dimorphism among Chinese Han students.Methods Based on the eight students'physical and healthy investigations,the data on the stature and body mass were systematically collected for 343 928 and 344 029 Chinese Han students aged 19 to 22 years from 1985 to 2019,respectively.The sexual stature dimorphism index(SSDI)and sexual body mass dimorphism index(SBMDI)were employed to analyze the distribution in different periods and regions.In addition,we focused the relationships between these two indices and the per capita consumption expenditure.Results Positive secular trends were observed in the SSDI and SBWDI among Chinese Han students throughout the 1985 to 2019 period.Notable similarities were identified in the SSDI and SBWDI between northern and southern students.Compared with the SSDI,the SBWDI exhibited significant disparities between urban and rural areas,and demonstrated a positive association with the per capita consumption expenditure.Conclusion The female buffering hypothesis possesses a limited range of spatiotemporal adaptability,and the trait more susceptible to environmental influences is better suited to test this hypothesis.

Traumatic supraorbital fissure syndrome (TSOFS) is a symptom complex caused by nerve entrapment in the supraorbital fissure after skull base trauma. If the compressed cranial nerve in the supraorbital fissure is not decompressed surgically, ptosis, diplopia and eye movement disorder may exist for a long time and seriously affect the patients′ quality of life. Since its overall incidence is not high, it is not familiarized with the majority of neurosurgeons and some TSOFS may be complicated with skull base vascular injury. If the supraorbital fissure surgery is performed without treatment of vascular injury, it may cause massive hemorrhage, and disability and even life-threatening in severe cases. At present, there is no consensus or guideline on the diagnosis and treatment of TSOFS that can be referred to both domestically and internationally. To improve the understanding of TSOFS among clinical physicians and establish standardized diagnosis and treatment plans, the Skull Base Trauma Group of the Neurorepair Professional Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Neurotrauma Group of the Neurosurgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, Neurotrauma Group of the Traumatology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, and Editorial Committee of Chinese Journal of Trauma organized relevant experts to formulate Chinese expert consensus on the diagnosis and treatment of traumatic supraorbital fissure syndrome ( version 2024) based on evidence of evidence-based medicine and clinical experience of diagnosis and treatment. This consensus puts forward 12 recommendations on the diagnosis, classification, treatment, efficacy evaluation and follow-up of TSOFS, aiming to provide references for neurosurgeons from hospitals of all levels to standardize the diagnosis and treatment of TSOFS.

The seminal vesicle is an important accessory gland of the male reproductive system.In the past,some scholars fo-cused more on its role in the fertilization process and neglected its relationship with male sexual function.Researches show that the se-minal vesicle is involved in multiple processes such as sexual desire,penile erection,and ejaculation.Treatment of sexual dysfunction by medication targeting the seminal vesicle has achieved certain therapeutic effects.This article discusses the relationship between the seminal vesicle and sexual function in terms of physiopathology,clinical study and basic research,hoping to provide some new ideas on the clinical diagnosis and treatment of sexual dysfunction.

Chronic nonbacterial prostatitis(CNP)is one of the most common diseases in urology and andrology,with a complex etiology and a high incidence rate.Traditional Chinese medicine plays an important role in the treatment of CNP and can produce thera-peutic effects through various action mechanisms.This article presents an overview of recent studies on the specific mechanisms of tra-ditional Chinese medicine acting on CNP,including the mechanisms underlying its effects of anti-infection,anti-inflammation,immune regulation,improvement of urodynamics,endocrine regulation,improvement of microcirculation,and regulation of gut microbiota,ai-ming to provide some reference for the clinical application and basic studies of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of CNP.

Ferroptosis is a form of cell death resulting from the disruption of iron metabolism within cells and excessive accumu-lation of lipid peroxides.Research indicates that,under the influence of various pathogenic factors,ferroptosis impacts the male repro-ductive system and fertility by affecting the synthesis of testicular hormones and regulation of cellular functions through different path-ways and numerators.This paper provides an overview of the action mechanisms of ferroptosis in the testis and its correlation with path-ogenicity,offering some new insights into the treatment of male reproductive system diseases.

Objective To explore the clinical value of second polar body (Pb2) exclusion monitoring by timelapse in predicting the fertilization and embryo development efficiency for intracytoplasmic sperm injection ( ICSI). Methods A retrospective research was performed on 278 patients treated with ICSI, the clinical data and Time-lapse monitoring embryo culture data were collected and analyzed, to explore the exclusion of Pb2 after ICSI and the relationship between the specific exclusion time and the outcome of fertilization and embryo development. Results The average time of Pb2 exclusion after ICSI was ( 3. 03 ± 1. 21) hours; The fertilization rate, 2 pronucleus(PN) fertilization rate and 5 days ( D5) blastocyst formation rate in the Pb2 exclusion group were significantly higher than those in the without Pb2 exclusion group (99.95% vs f. 75%, P < 0 . 001; 97.18% vs 0.66%, P< 0.001; 60.50% vs 16.67%, P < 0 . 0 5 ) ; The 2PN fertilization rate in Pb2 exclusion time >3-4 hours group was significantly higher than that in 0-2 hours group and >5 hours group (98.80% vs 9 3 . 8 1 % , P<0. 05; 98.80% vs 95.40%, P<0. 0 5 ) ; The exclusion time of Pb2 was significantly correlated with the average number of blastomeres in D3 embryos (P<0. OOf). The D5 blastocyst formation rate of 3-4 hours group was significantly lower than that of > 2-3 hours group ( 56. 23% vs 67. 23%, P < 0. 05 ) , > 4-5 hours group was significantly lower than 0-2 hours group and >2-3 hours group ( 46. 6f % vs 62. 30% , P<0. 05; 46. 6f % vs 67. 23% , P< 0. 05) , and D5 blastocyst formation rate of >5 hours group was 7. f 4 % , which were significantly lower than that of the other four groups (P<0. 05). Conclusion Monitoring Pb2 exclusion by Time-lapse can accurately predict fertilization outcome. The time of Pb2 exclusion is significantly correlated with embiyo development potential. It is a valuable morphological index to predict fertilization and embiyo development outcome in ICSI.
