AIM:To investigate the protective effect of decylubiquinone(DUb)against medium-wave ultravio-let(UVB)-induced photodamage in HaCaT cells and its molecular mechanism.METHODS:The photodamage model was established by irradiating HaCaT cells with UVB.The experiment was divided into 6 groups:control group,UVB model group(30 mJ/cm2),UVB+low-,medium-and high-concentration(2.5,5 and 10 μmol/L)DUb groups,and DUb(10 μmol/L)group.Cell viability was detected using the CCK-8 assay.The morphological changes of the HaCaT cells were observed under a light microscope.The production of reactive oxygen species(ROS)content in the HaCaT cells was analyzed by fluorescence probe of DCFH-DA,and the superoxide dismutase(SOD)activity,intracellular glutathione(GSH)and malondialdehyde(MDA)levels were detected using biochemical reagents.The apoptosis rate was detected through flow cytometry.The protein expression levels of Bax、Bcl-2、caspase-3 and p53 were detected by Western blot.RESULTS:Compared with the control group,the cell viability of UVB model group was significantly decreased(P＜0.01),and obvious morphological changes,ROS and MDA were significantly increased(P＜0.01),GSH and SOD were significantly decreased(P＜0.01),the apoptosis rate was increased(P＜0.01).DUb pretreatment significantly increased the viability of UVB-induced photodamage HaCaT cells(P＜0.01),decreased intracellular ROS and MDA production(P＜0.05,P＜0.01),increased GSH content and SOD activity(P＜0.05,P＜0.01),and reduced apoptosis(P＜0.01).Addi-tionally,the protein expression levels of Bax,caspase-3 and p53 in medium-and high-dose DUb groups were significantly decreased(P＜0.01),while the anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-2 was significantly increased(P＜0.01).CONCLUSION:Dec-ylubiquinone can alleviate UVB-induced photodamage to HaCaT cells,reduce apoptosis and enhance the antioxidant ca-pacity of cells,and protect HaCaT cells against UVB radiation.

Objective: To introduce the method of making mesh elastic gloves, and to explore its application effect in the treatment of zinc oxide paste in patients with subacute eczema in the hands. Methods: This study was a kind of experimental study. A total of 96 patients with subacute eczema in the hands in the Dermatology Ward of the First Affiliated Hospital of Yangtze University were selected as the study subjects.They were divided into the control group (admitted from June to December in 2017) and the experimental group (admitted from June to December in 2018) according to the time of admission, 48 cases in each group. After the two procedures(apply medicine and cover with sterile gauze) of the conventional zinc oxide paste coating, the control group was fixed with "gauze bandage+ medical tape", and the experimental group was fixed with "mesh elastic gloves". The external fixed cost and time, the disassembly time, the dressing fixation, the comfort condition, the grip strength, the daily activity of the hand, and the healing effect of the skin lesions were evaluated. Results: The external fixed cost and time, the disassembly time, grip strength and hand daily activities ability of the patients in the experimental group were (0.37±0.05) yuan, (26.06±2.53) s, (13.70±1.28) s, (25.96±5.83) kg, and (65.04±7.10) points, significantly better than the control group (1.63±0.21) yuan, (160.98±22.82) s, (22.36±3.50) s, (20.01±3.56) kg, (61.83±6.31) points, the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (t value was-40.931--2.340, P< 0.01 or 0.05). The total rate of comfort, the total rate of dressing loss and the total effective rate of skin lesion healing in the experimental group were respectively 100%(48/48), 0, 98% (47/48), significantly better than the control group 79% (38/48), 46% (22/48), 71% (34/48), the difference between the two groups were statistically significant (χ² value was 11.163, 28.541, 13.353, all P<0.01). Conclusions The application of mesh elastic gloves in the treatment of zinc oxide paste in patients with subacute eczema in the hands can not only save the cost of external fixation and the time of external fixation and disassembly, but also improve dressing fixation and comfort, and improve grip and hand daily activities. At the same time, the healing effect of hand skin lesions can also be improved. In short, it meets the needs of dermatology hand coating.

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of pulsative flushing and continuous flushing for peripheral venous catheter.Methods By retrieving Cochrane Library,ProQuest Research Library,PubMed,Web of science,Ovid,Embase and CINAHL complete(EESCO),China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wanfang,Weipu,and China Biology Medicine disc (CBMdisc) to find the randomized controlled trials (RCT) and clinical controlled trials(CCT) that been applied to compare pulsative flushing and continuous flushing for peripheral venous catheter,and using Revman5.3 soft for a Meta-analysis.Results There were thirteen studies which had involved 1 679 patients.The Meta-analysis' results as follows:The pulsative flushing was superior than continuous flushing indecreasing intravenous catheter's blockage (P ＜ 0.01),and had prolonged more time than continuous flushing in retaining catheter (P ＜ 0.01).The two flushing methods were similar in reducing phlebitis (P＞ 0.05).Conclusions The pulsative flushing was superior to the continuous one in reducing the intravenous catheter's blockage and prolonging the catheter's times.There were similar in decreasing phlebitis.The pulsative flushing method was used with caution in chronic diseases such as angiocardiopathy.

Objective:To develop the Counseling Skills Rating Scale for Psychological Aids Hotline (CSRSPAH),an instrument to objectively assess the quality of process of counseling or intervention provided by hotline operators,and to test its validities and reliabilities.Methods:A draft of the scale,which consisted of 50 items under 5 dimensions,was designed in line with previous researches and the practice.In pilot study,supervisors at Beijing psychological aids hotline,assessed tape recorded sessions and gave feedbacks on the draft of the scale.The scale had been revised based on the pilot study.Twenty-eight items were deleted,and several items were rephrased.Finally,a scale which consisted of 22 items within 3 dimensions,i.e.counseling process,attitude,and communication skill,was developed.The scoring standards of the scale were also developed.To evaluate the IntraClass Coefficients (ICC) of the CSRSPAH,each of the tape records of 37 callings from 2005 to 2007 were assessed by 7 supervisors independently,using the scale.And the tape records of other 318 callings from 2013 to 2014 were also assessed by supervisors,using the CSRSPAH.The results of the 318 assessed callings were used to test the construct validities with the Confirmative Factor Analysis.The Cronbach a coefficients of the total score and three dimensions,the discriminant indices of every items,and correlations of each items and each dimensions were calculated,based on the 318 assessed callings.Results:One of the items (referral) was deleted due to excessive amount of missing data.Results of cortfirmative factor analysis of the remained 21-item scale revealed that the 3-factor construct structure of the scale was robust.The fitting indices of the confirm factor analysis were,x2/df=675.21/186,CFI =0.92,NNFI =0.91,RMSEA =0.10,SRMR =0.08.The Cronbach α coefficients of the total score,scores of counseling process,attitude,and communication skill,were 0.89,0.68,0.81 and 0.77,respectively.The ICCs of the inter-rater reliabilities of the total score and 3 dimensions of the scale were 0.67,0.59,0.59,and 0.67,respectively.The discriminant indices of all the 21 items ranged from 0.09 to 0.32.The correlation coefficients of scores of each items and scores of 3 dimensions and total scores were greater than 0.30,and reached statistical significance.Conclusion:The validities and reliabilities of the Counseling Skills Rating Scale for Psychological Aids Hotline are acceptable.The scale could be used in assessing the quality of hotline counseling or intervention,and related studies in the future.

Objectives:To explore the prevalence and correlates of attempted suicide among Beijing psycho-logical aids hotline callers,in order to provide knowledge of hotline-based suicide prevention.Methods:From De-cember 2002 to December 2008,all the effective callers who consulted themselves'psychological problem,by Bei-jing psychological aids hotline were interviewed by professional hotline operators during the consulting calling.Data of whether callers attempted suicidal behavior in 2 weeks prior to the calling,gender and other 5 demographic char-acteristics of callers were collected via hotline interview.A questionnaire including depression screening scale,com-mon psychiatric symptoms such as delusion,hallucination,etc.,a history of substance abuse or dependence,a histo-ry of suicidal behavior,having had acute or chronic life events,and severity of hopeless was used during hotline in-terview.Logistic regression model was used.Results:In 22 415 interviewed callers,362 (1.6%)callers (233 fe-males)reported that they attempted suicidal behavior in 2 weeks prior to the calling.After adjusted for demographic characteristics,prior suicidal behavior 2 weeks before calling (OR=4.43,95%CI:3.37-5.83),hopelessness (OR=2.01,95%CI:1.52-2.67),substance abuse (OR=1.97,95%CI:1.48 -2.62),acute negative life events (OR=1.94,95%CI:1.49-2.52),and severe depressive symptoms (OR=1.45,95%CI:1.08-1.95)were associatedwith attempted suicide among hotline callers.Conclusion:The rates of attempted suicide among hotline callers are probably high.Suicide prevention in hotline would shed light on improving coping skills for life events and sub-stance abuse problems for hotline callers.

Objective To Compare characteristics between the psychological aids hotline callers who had single attempted suicide and those callers who had repeated attempted suicide. Methods The analysis was conducted on the da?tabase of Beijing psychological aids hotline from Dec., 2002 to Dec., 2008. All the effective callers were consulted by pro?fessional hotline operators. During the calling, the callers were interviewed on their attempted suicides, depression and 11 correlates associated with caller's suicidal behaviors. Results Among 4519 callers who had attempted suicide, 2441 (54%) of them had attempted suicide once, and the other 2078 (46.0%) callers had repeated suicide attempts. After ad?justed for gender, age, and the other 4 demographic variables, history of being abused (OR=1.35, 95%CI: 1.08~1.67), afraid of being attack (OR=1.35, 95%CI: 1.01~1.59), relatives or associates with prior suicidal behavior history (OR=1.17, 95%CI: 1.001~1.36), hopelessness (OR=1.20, 95%CI: 1.02~1.40), and psychological treatment history (OR=0.73, 95%CI:0.62~0.86) were associated with repeated suicide among hotline callers. Conclusions To improve the effective?ness of hotline based suicide prevention, assessment of risk of repeated attempted suicide among the callers with a histo?ry of prior attempted suicide should focus on the history of being abused, afraid of being attack, hopelessness, relatives or associates with prior suicide history, and psychological treatment history.

Objective To understand the characteristics of Beijing crisis hotline callers who seeking help for their own problems and the rates of factors related to suicidal behaviors among female and male callers.Methods All callers using the hotline for the purpose of their own problems from December 2002 to December 2008 were recruited and interviewed.Information of demographic characteristics,common problems that need counselling and suicidal-behavior-related factors were collected via the hotline.Results Among the 38 526 callers,19 447 (50.5％) were females,31 351 (81.4％) were younger than 5 years old,24 637(63.9％) had a high school or higher education level,and 17 462(45.3％) had never received any professional help for mental health problems.Three most common problems were mental disorders,seeking for information,and family relationship problems.Compared to male callers,female callers were more likely to be 30 years or older,having higher education level,currently married or having a history of marriage,and having more family relationship problems.Male callers had more work,study,or financial problems than female callers (P ＜ 0.05).Among 22 415 callers who received assessment of suicidalbehavior-related factors,12 232 (54.6％) reported having current suicidal ideation or behavior,4 316 (19.3％) had prior suicide attempts; 16 737(74.7％) had symptoms of mental illness,7 980(35.6％)had a high score of depressive symptoms; 11 630(51.9％) had chronic negative life events.Female callers had higher prevalence of most suicidal-related-factors than male callers,which are suicidal ideation or behavior(58.2％ vs.50.5％),prior suicide history(22.8％ vs.15.0％),symptoms of mental illness (75.3％ vs.73.9％),serious physical illness(14.0％ vs.12.3％),chronic negative life events (55.3％ vs.48.0％),physical/sexual abuse (6.1％ vs.3.7％),acute negative life events (33.1％ vs.26.8％),relatives or associates had prior suicide history (29.4％ vs.28.2％),male callers had higher prevalence of substance abuse than female callers(13.6％ vs.8.8％),P＜0.05 orP＜0.01.Conclusion The rates of suicide-related-factors are high among Beijing crisis hotline callers who seeking help for their problems.Demographic characteristics and prevalence of suicidal-behavior-related factors are different between male and female callers.

Objective To explore the effect of gravitational traction on height change of degenerative disc of New Zealand white rabbit.Methods In order to create intervertebral disc degeneration models, the right front side of the annulus fibrosus of lumbar vertebrae of rabbits were damaged by 16-gauge needle. After confirming the success of modeling, 20 animal models were randomized into 2 groups, 15 of which received a routine gravitational traction using a model of our own design, 30 min per day, for 8 weeks, while the control group received no treatment at all. Radiographic exam were performed in the 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th week, after intervention and the disc height index percent (DHI%). Results Compared to the baseline, DHI% increased significantly 2 and 4 weeks after gravitational traction (P<0.05), and there was no further effect as the traction continued. However, compared to the control group, an improvement of DHI% was found on all the time points in the gravitational traction group (P<0.001). Conclusion Gravitational traction may delay and inhibit intervertebral disc degeneration by increasing height of degenerated disc of New Zealand white rabbit.
