Ferroptosis is an emerging form of regulated cell death characterized by iron-dependent lipid peroxidation and the failure of the antioxidant system, which results in iron-dependent oxidative damage to the cell membrane. Ferroptosis is implicated in various biological processes, including cell proliferation, aging, and differentiation. The regulation of oxidative stress by ferroptosis is closely associated with the inactivation of glutathione peroxidase 4(Gpx4),dysfunction of the cysteine/glutamate antiporter System Xc-,the production of reactive oxygen species derived from oxidized polyunsaturated fatty acids, and alterations in lipid metabolism. Oxidative stress is a critical mechanism underlying the onset and progression of benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)and plays a pivotal role in its pathogenesis. Ferroptosis may regulate the occurrence and development of BPH by mediating lipid oxidative stress response.

Objective:To systematically evaluate and synthesize qualitative studies on the illness experience of patients with heart failure, in order to inform the development of targeted health management and care strategies to improve patients' quality of life. Methods:A comprehensive literature search was conducted in PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, Wanfang Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, VIP Database, and China Biology Medicine disc from inception to January 31, 2025. Relevant qualitative studies on the illness experience of patients with heart failure were retrieved. Quality appraisal and data extraction were performed, and Meta-synthesis methods were used to integrate the findings. Results:A total of 12 studies were included, all of which were rated as grade B in quality appraisal. From these studies, 52 distinct findings were extracted and grouped into 10 new categories. These were further synthesized into 4 integrated themes: multidimensional decline in physical, psychological, and social functioning; increased need for support systems; negative experiences with disease perception and self-management; diverse strategies for disease acceptance and coping. Conclusions:The illness experience of heart failure patients is multidimensional. Medical staff should pay close attention to their physical, psychological, and social needs and adopt a patient-centered care model to deliver personalized and dynamic healthcare, thereby improving quality of life and clinical outcomes.

Cemental tear is a rare and indetectable condition unless obvious clinical signs present with the involvement of surrounding periodontal and periapical tissues. Due to its clinical manifestations similar to common dental issues, such as vertical root fracture, primary endodontic diseases, and periodontal diseases, as well as the low awareness of cemental tear for clinicians, misdiagnosis often occurs. The critical principle for cemental tear treatment is to remove torn fragments, and overlooking fragments leads to futile therapy, which could deteriorate the conditions of the affected teeth. Therefore, accurate diagnosis and subsequent appropriate interventions are vital for managing cemental tear. Novel diagnostic tools, including cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), microscopes, and enamel matrix derivatives, have improved early detection and management, enhancing tooth retention. The implementation of standardized diagnostic criteria and treatment protocols, combined with improved clinical awareness among dental professionals, serves to mitigate risks of diagnostic errors and suboptimal therapeutic interventions. This expert consensus reviewed the epidemiology, pathogenesis, potential predisposing factors, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of cemental tear, aiming to provide a clinical guideline and facilitate clinicians to have a better understanding of cemental tear.

Objective:To investigate the current status of treatment inertia in patients with chronic heart failure who were readmitted to hospitals, and to explore the influencing factors of treatment inertia in patients with chronic heart failure, so as to provide a basis for patients to provide effective and timely rehabilitation treatment. Methods:Using the phenomenological research method, 16 readmitted chronic heart failure patients from Shandong Provincial Hospital Affiliated to Shandong First Medical University, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University and the First Affiliated Hospital of Shandong First Medical University were selected by purpose sampling method from May to July 2024 for semi-structured interview; the interview data were analyzed and summarized by Colaizzi seven-step analysis method. Results:There were 12 males and 4 females, aged (60.63 ± 9.39) years old. There were three themes: behavioral characteristics of treatment inertia (including delayed initiation of treatment, refusal to upgrade treatment, poor treatment compliance); internal barriers of treatment inertia (including insufficient symptom perception, multiple pressures of patients, insufficient confidence in treatment); external influences of treatment inertia (including insufficient family support and limited medical resources). Conclusions:Treatment inertia is common in patients with chronic heart failure who are readmitted to the hospital, which leads to the diversification of influencing factors of treatment inertia and negatively affects the treatment effect of patients. Medical staff should conduct targeted analysis and treatment according to the specific situation of the patient, reduce the inertia of the patient′s treatment, promote the timely treatment of patients with chronic heart failure, actively cooperate with the treatment, and improve the patient′s recovery effect.

Objective:To systematically evaluate the qualitative study of perinatal bereavement care by obstetric nurses and midwives, and explore the barriers to perinatal bereavement care, so as to promote the development of domestic perinatal bereavement care services. Methods:Systematic search of qualitative studies on the experience of obstetric nurses and midwives in caring for perinatal bereaved mothers in PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, PsycINFO, CINAHL, China Biomedical Literature Service System, CNKI, Wanfang Database, and VIP database were searched from the establishment until June 30, 2024. The qualitative research quality evaluation was conducted using the 2016 version of the qualitative research quality assessment tool of the Joanna Briggs Institute Evidence-Based Health Care Centre in Australia, and the results of the study were summarized and integrated using the pooled integration method. Results:A total of 14 studies were included, with 3 Chinese literatures and 11 English literatures. A total of 55 themes were extracted, which were summarized and combined into 8 new categories, and 3 integrated results were summarized: insufficient bereavement care ability, insufficient bereavement care confidence, and imperfect allocation of bereavement care resources. Conclusions:The knowledge popularization and training of bereavement care should be strengthened, the organizational support should be strengthened, the confidence of obstetric nurses and midwives in bereavement care should be enhanced, a special perinatal bereavement care team should be set up, and multidisciplinary resources should be integrated to ensure the continuity and coordination of perinatal bereavement care.

Objective:To understand the status quo of patient safety cultural cognition among nurses in a senior friendly hospital, and analyze the influencing factors of their patient safety cultural cognition, in order to provide a basis for formulating nursing safety management measures. Methods:Totally 360 clinical in-service nurses from 26 nursing units in a senior friendly hospital were investigated with the Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture (HSOPSC) and the Nurse Psychological Contract Scale. Single factor analysis, correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were used to analyze the influencing factors of their patient safety cultural cognition. Results:The total score of nurses' patient safety cultural cognition was (173.74±16.04) , which was positively correlated with the total score of psychological contract and the scores of its various dimensions ( P<0.01) . Multiple linear regression analysis showed that the hospital's team responsibility and development responsibility were the influencing factors for the scores of nurses' patient safety cultural cognition. Conclusions:Generally, nurses have a good understanding of patient safety culture. There is still much room for improvement in the hospital responsibilities of the nurses' psychological contract, especially the hospital's team responsibility and development responsibility. Managers should improve the level of nurses' psychological contract by supporting team behavior in hospital management and providing guarantees for development, so as to further enhance the nurses' patient safety cultural cognition, and enabling nurses to form positive awareness and behaviors of patient safety.
