ObjectiveTo investigate the imaging features of calcium salt deposition and serological markers in patients with alveolar echinococcosis through a retrospective analysis, as well as independent risk factors for the degree of calcium salt deposition in lesions, and to provide a basis for assessing disease process. MethodsA retrospective analysis was performed for the imaging and clinical data of 107 patients with alveolar echinococcosis who were admitted to The First Affiliated Hospital of Shihezi University from December 2023 to June 2025, and according to the volume of calcium salt deposition, they were divided into non-deposition group with 16 patients, mild deposition group with 52 patients, moderate deposition group with 16 patients, and severe deposition group with 23 patients. A one-way analysis of variance or the Kruskal-Wallis H test was used for comparison of continuous data between groups, and the χ2 test or Fisher’s exact test was used for comparison of categorical data between groups. The four groups were further combined into the low deposition group (no/mild deposition) and the high deposition group (moderate/severe deposition). A binary logistic regression analysis was used to investigate the independent influencing factors for calcium salt deposition, and a predictive model was established. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to assess the predictive performance of the model, and the Bootstrap method was used for internal validation. ResultsThere were significant differences between the four groups in sex distribution, involvement of other sites, white blood cell count, lymphocyte percentage, fibrinogen, uric acid, sodium ion, chloride ion, and calcium ion (all P<0.05). The univariate analysis showed that there were significant differences between the four groups in sex, involvement of other sites, white blood cell count, lymphocyte percentage, fibrinogen, alanine aminotransferase, albumin, creatinine, uric acid, sodium ion, chloride ion, and calcium ion (all P<0.1). The multi-collinearity diagnosis showed that the VIF values for all continuous variables ranged from 1.104 to 1.760, suggesting that collinearity did not affect modeling. An ordinal logistic regression model was established based on sex, involvement of other sites, calcium ion, lymphocyte percentage, and uric acid. The multivariate analysis showed that lymphocyte percentage (odds ratio [OR]=1.106, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.041 — 1.174, P=0.001) and blood calcium level (OR=0.005, 95%CI: 0.000 —0.230, P=0.007) were independent influencing factors for the degree of calcium salt deposition. The regression equation was established as Logit(P)=8.231 + 0.100 × lymphocyte percentage -5.344 × calcium ion. The ROC curve analysis showed that the model had an area under the ROC curve of 0.716, with a Youden index of 0.353, a sensitivity of 1.000, and a specificity of 0.353. The Hosmer-Lemeshow test showed that the model had poor calibration (χ2=20.688, P=0.008). The Bootstrap method with 1000 repeated samples showed that the estimated values of lymphocyte percentage (OR=1.106, 95%CI: 1.049 — 1.186, P=0.002) and calcium ion (OR=0.005, 95%CI: 0.000 — 0.214, P=0.010) were consistent with the original model, and the confidence intervals did not include 1, which further supported the reliability of the model. ConclusionBoth lymphocyte percentage and blood calcium level are independent influencing factors for calcium salt deposition in alveolar echinococcosis, and the degree of calcium salt deposition in alveolar echinococcosis lesions increases with the reduction in blood calcium level and the increase in lymphocyte percentage.

Objective: To retrospectively analyze the clinical data of 474 newborns with hyperbilirubinemia, and to investigate the clinical characteristics of hyperbilirubinemia caused by ABO hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn (ABO-HDFN) and factors influencing the phototherapy duration. Methods: A total of 474 neonates with hyperbilirubinemia treated in the First Hospital of Lanzhou University from January 2019 to January 2023 were enrolled. Blood type identification and the standard serological tests (direct antiglobulin test, serum free antibody test, and antibody elution test) were performed for all neonates. Baseline clinical data were collected and analyzed. According to the results of the hemolysis tests, neonates were divided into hemolytic jaundice group and non-hemolytic jaundice group. Clinical indicators, including hemoglobin levels, length of hospital stay, and phototherapy duration, were compared between the two groups. A multiple linear regression model was used to explore clinical factors influencing the duration of phototherapy. Results: Among the 474 neonates with hyperbilirubinemia, 354 were diagnosed with ABO-HDFN (hemolytic group), while 120 were without ABO-HDFN (non-hemolytic group). The incidence of ABO-HDFN in neonates with blood type A (55.93%, 198/354) was significantly higher than those with blood type B (44.07%, 156/354) (P<0.05). Furthermore, neonates born to multiparous women had a significantly higher ABO-HDFN incidence (81.56%, 146/179) than first-born neonates (70.51%, 208/295) (P<0.05). Neonates in the hemolytic group had significantly lower hemoglobin levels (170.67±21.86 g/L vs 178.99±22.05 g/L, P<0.001), lower red blood cell counts (4.66±0.63×10
/L vs 4.89±0.59×10
/L, P<0.05), and lower hematocrit (50.05±6.56% vs 52.61±6.75%, P<0.05) compared to the non-hemolytic group. Additionally, the hemolytic group had significantly longer hospital stays (6 [5, 9] days vs 6 [4, 8] days), longer phototherapy duration (62 [38, 84.25] h vs 53 [34.25, 64.77] h), and higher frequency of jaundice episodes (9 [7, 13] times vs 8 [6, 12] times] compared to the non-hemolytic group (all P<0.05). Regression analysis indicated that a positive indirect Coombs test and multiparity were independent risk factors associated with prolonged phototherapy duration (P<0.05). Conclusion: ABO incompatibility is the leading cause of hemolytic disease in neonates, particularly in cases where the mother has blood type O and the neonate has blood type A. In such cases, close monitoring of bilirubin levels is strongly recommended. Multiparous pregnancies increase the risk of alloimmune hemolysis. Therefore, neonates born to multiparous women may require more frequent bilirubin monitoring and appropriate prenatal interventions when necessary. Additionally, changes in indicators such as hemoglobin level and red blood cell count should be closely monitored as early warning indicators for hemolytic anemia and bilirubin elevation.

Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2025;45(6):761-765
OBJECTIVE:
To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture at yinsanzhen combined with auricular point sticking on primary dysmenorrhea (PDM).
METHODS:
Sixty patients with PDM were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 30 cases in each group. Patients in the observation group were treated with acupuncture at yinsanzhen combined with auricular point sticking. The acupuncture was given at yinsanzhen (Guanyuan [CV4] and bilateral Guilai [ST29], Sanyinjiao [SP6]) once daily for 5 consecutive days. Auricular point sticking was applied to gan (CO12), shen (CO10), neifenmi (CO18), etc. every other day, alternated between ears, totaling 3 sessions. All treatments were started 5 days before menstruation. Patients in the control group were treated with ibuprofen sustained-release capsules on the first day of menstruation for 3 consecutive days. Both groups were treated for 3 menstrual cycles. The scores of Cox menstrual symptom scale (CMSS) and visual analogue scale (VAS) were compared between the two groups before and after treatment and at the second menstrual cycle after treatment completion (follow-up). The serum contents of prostaglandin (PG) F2α and PGE2 were detected before and after treatment, and the clinical effect and safety of the two groups were evaluated.
RESULTS:
After treatment and during follow-up, the CMSS severity and duration scores and VAS scores of the two groups were lower than those before treatment (P<0.05 ), and the scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the serum contents of PGF2α were decreased, and the contents of PGE2 were increased (P<0.05) in the two groups. The total effective rate of the observation group was 93.3% (28/30), which was higher than 80.0% (24/30) of the control group (P<0.05). There were no adverse reactions in both groups.
CONCLUSION
Yinsanzhen combined with auricular point sticking can effectively improve the pain symptoms, relieve the degree of pain and shorten the duration of pain in patients with PDM, which may play a therapeutic role by reducing the content of serum PGF2α and increasing the content of serum PGE2.

China Pharmacy 2025;36(13):1610-1616
OBJECTIVE To investigate the mechanisms of paeoniflorin(PF)in anti-hyperprolactinemia(HPRL).METHODS Twenty-four female SD rats were divided into blank control group(intragastric administration of 5%gum arabic solution),olanzapine group(model group, intragastric administration of 5 mg/kg olanzapine suspension),and PF group(intragastric administration of 5 mg/kg olanzapine suspension, followed by gavaging with 50 mg/kg PF solution 2 hours later)with 8 rats in each group.Once a day, continuously model/administer until the plasma prolactin(PRL)levels in the olanzapine group were twice as high as those in the blank control group.PRL levels were measured. The changes in gut microbiota of rats were analyzed, including assessments of α-diversity(Simpson,Chao1,and Shannon indexes),β-diversity,species composition analysis(at the phylum and genus levels),and microbiome LEfSe analysis.Fecal untargeted metabolomics technology was employed to analyze the effects of PF on the fecal metabolomics of rats, including multivariate statistical analysis, screening of differential metabolites, and pathway enrichment analysis.Spearman correlation analysis was performed to examine the correlations between differential microbiota and differential fecal metabolites.RESULTS PF significantly reduced serum PRL levels of rats in olanzapine group(P<0.05).16S rRNA sequencing revealed that PF improved the α-diversity and β-diversity of gut microbiota in HPRL rats(P<0.05),restoring them to levels similar to the blank control group. At the phylum level,PF significantly reduced the relative abundance of Firmicutes and Desulfobacterota, while increasing the relative abundance of Verrucomicrobiota in HPRL rats(all P<0.05).At the genus level,PF reversed the relative abundance of Desulfovibrio,Allobaculum, and Prevotellaceae_NK3B31_group,etc(all P<0.05).The results of LEfSe analysis revealed that PF significantly enriched microbial taxa such as Actinobacteriota,Staphylococcales,Corynebacteriales, etc(all P<0.05).Metabolomics analysis identified 51 differential metabolites, with key metabolic pathways enriched in steroid hormone biosynthesis, prostate cancer, ovarian steroidogenesis, etc.Correlation analysis showed that the relative abundance of gut microbiota such as Desulfovibrio and Aerococcus was significantly correlated with the levels of steroid hormone metabolites such as tetrahydrocortisol and adrenosterone(P<0.05).CONCLUSIONS PF alleviates PRL by modulating gut microbiota structure in HPRL rats(including significantly reducing the relative abundance of Desulfovibrio,Allobaculum and Aerococcus,as well as significantly increasing the relative abundance of Ruminococcaceae_UBA1819 and Muribaculum),and regulating steroid hormone pathways, then exerting its anti-HPRL effect.
