Objective To explore the expression characteristics of BAIAP2L1 in cervical cancer (CC) and its regulatory role in tumor cell metastasis. Methods The correlation between BAIAP2L1 expression and clinical prognosis was analyzed by using a public database. GO pathway enrichment and clinicopathological correlation analyses were conducted by employing R language. The effect of BAIAP2L1 knockdown on CC cell proliferation, invasion, migration, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) were further investigated through gene silencing approaches. Results BAIAP2L1 expression was significantly upregulated in CC tissues (P_adj <0.001) and it was identified as an independent risk factor for patient mortality (HR=2.808, P=0.03). Elevated BAIAP2L1 levels showed significant correlations with poor overall survival, advanced T/N stage, recurrence, and metastasis (all P<0.05). Functional enrichment analysis revealed its involvement in tumor metastasis-related pathways. The knockdown of BAIAP2L1 significantly attenuated CC cell proliferation, invasion, and migration and suppressed key EMT processes (all P<0.05). Conclusion BAIAP2L1 is overexpressed in CC tissues and associated with patient prognosis and metastasis. The targeted inhibition of BAIAP2L1 can effectively curb tumor progression.

Objective Compare the efficacy and safety of Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement(ViV TAVR)versus Secondary Surgical Aortic Valve Replacement(redo SAVR)in patients with structural valve deterioration.Methods A retrospective analysis of clinical data was performed on 61 patients with valve failure who underwent ViV TAVR or redo SAVR treatment at the hospital between January 2020 and June 2022.Based on the differing treatment modalities,the patients were categorized into two groups:the ViV TAVR group(n=31)and the redo SAVR group(n=30).The study compared perioperative-related indicators(surgical time,hospital stay duration,mechanical ventilation time,and intensive care unit observation period),echocardiographic parameters at four time points:preoperatively(T1),1 month postoperatively(T2),3 months postoperatively(T3),and 6 months postoperatively(T4),as well as primary and secondary endpoint events.Results The ViV-TAVR group had shorter operation time and hospital stay,and less extracorporeal circulation assistance compared to the redo-SAVR group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Intra-group comparisons showed that at 1 month(T2),3 months(T3),and 6 months(T4)after surgery,the left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),aortic valve peak flow velocity(AVmax),peak transvalvular pressure gradient(PGmax),and PGmean in both groups were lower than those at the preoperative(T1)time point.At T3 and T4,the left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVEDD)in both groups was lower than that at T1 and T2,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The mortality rate within 30 days in the ViV-TAVR group was lower than that in the redo-SAVR group,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).However,there was no statistically significant difference in all-cause mortality within 24 months between the two groups(P>0.05).The incidence of acute renal failure in the ViV-TAVR group was lower than that in the redo-SAVR group,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with redo SAVR,ViV TAVR not only significantly decreases the 30-day mortality risk and the incidence of acute renal failure in patients with bioprosthetic valve dysfunction but also demonstrates comparable long-term mortality rates to redo SAVR.

Objective To investigate the serum levels of semaphorin 3E(Sema3E)in patients with intracranial aneurysms,revealing the correlation between Sema3E and 1-month poor prognosis after interventional embolization.Methods This study was a prospective single-center cohort study,recruiting 102 consecutive patients with intracranial aneurysms who underwent interventional surgery from June 2020 to January 2022 in our hospital.Among them,11 patients were excluded.Clinical and radiological profiles were collected.Peripheral blood was collected after admission,and serum Sema3E levels were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.All the aneurysms were treated with endovascular coil embolization or stent-assisted coil embolization.The primary outcome was evaluated with the Glasgow Outcome Scale(GOS)1 month after interventional therapy.The favorable outcome was defined as a GOS score of 4-5,and a poor outcome was defined as a GOS score of 1-3(severe disability,vegetative state,or death).Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to identify potential prognostic factors after interventional therapy.Results The average age of 91 patients with intracranial aneurysm was 59.9±11.0 years old,including 70 cases(76.9%)with favorable prognosis and 21 cases(23.1%)with poor prognosis.The mean preoperative Glasgow Coma Scale(GCS)score of the poor prognosis group(9.4±4.5)was significantly lower than that of the favorable prognosis group(13.3±2.5;P<0.001).In the poor prognosis group,the Hunt-Hess grade(3.6±0.6 vs.2.0±1.3,P<0.001)and the serum Sema3E levels[(6.21±1.58)μg/L vs.(4.38±1.77)μg/L,P<0.001]were significantly higher than those in the favorable prognosis group.Logistic regression analysis showed the Hunt-Hess grade(OR =7.150,P =0.003),stent-assisted coil embolization(OR =15.777,P =0.010),and the serum Sema3E level(OR =1.756,P =0.027)were independent prognostic factors for intracranial aneurysms after interventional therapy.Conclusions The serum Sema3E level is closely correlated with the severity of intracranial aneurysms.The serum Sema3E level is a prognostic factor for interventional treatment,which can be used as a biomarker for predicting poor outcomes.

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of dot matrix laser combined with subcutaneous separation in the treatment of depressed acne scar.Methods A total of 86 patients with depressed acne scar admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from February 2022 to August 2023 were selected and divided into dot matrix group and combined group according to random number table method,with 43 cases in each group.The patients in dot matrix group were treated with dot matrix laser,and the patients in combined group were treated with dot matrix laser combined with subcutaneous separation.The visual analogue scale(VAS)score,echelle d'evaluation clinique des cicatrices d'acne(ECCA)score,pigmentation area,scar area,treatment satisfaction and adverse reactions were compared between two groups.Results There was no significant difference in VAS scores between two groups after the first treatment and the second treatment(P>0.05).Three months after treatment,the ECCA score of combined group was significantly lower than that of dot matrix group,and the pigmentation area and scar area were significantly smaller than those of dot matrix group(P<0.05).The total satisfaction of patients in combined group was significantly higher than that in dot matrix group(χ2=4.746,P=0.029).There was no significant difference in the occurrence of adverse reactions between two groups(χ2=0.453,P=0.501).Conclusion Dot matrix laser combined with subcutaneous separation in the treatment of depressed acne scar can effectively promote scar repair,reduce skin pigmentation area and scar area,and do not increase pain,with good safety and high patient satisfaction.

Malignant brain edema is one of the serious complications of acute ischemic stroke, which is not uncommon after endovascular treatment, and can significantly reduce the benefits of endovascular treatment, leading to poor outcomes and even death of patients. Therefore, early identification and timely treatment are particularly important. This article reviewed the predictive factors, prevention and treatment of malignant brain edema in patients with acute ischemic stroke who received endovascular treatment.

Objective:To analyze the characteristics of eye movement changes in patients with acute cerebral infarction characterized by dizziness or vertigo.Methods:The clinical data of 114 patients characterized by dizziness or vertigo in the Civil Aviation General Hospital from January 2021 to June 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. Among them, acute cerebral infarction was in 74 cases (acute cerebral infarction group), including anterior circulation infarction 32 cases, posterior circulation infarction 42 cases; benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) was in 40 cases (BPPV group). The clinical manifestation and the results of videonystagmography (VNG) examination were recorded.Results:There were no statistical differences in the incidences of visual shaking, dysarthria and paresthesia between two groups ( P>0.05); the incidence of visual rotation in acute cerebral infarction group was significantly lower than that in BPPV group: 25.68% (19/74) vs. 100.00% (40/40), the incidence of limb weakness and walking instability were significantly higher than those in BPPV group: 29.73% (22/74) vs. 0 and 39.19% (29/74) vs. 0, and there were statistical differences ( P<0.01). The result of VNG examination showed that the abnormal incidences of eye movement and positional test in acute cerebral infarction group were significantly lower than those in BPPV group: 74.32% (55/74) vs. 100.00% (40/40) and 2.70% (2/74) vs. 100.00% (40/40), the abnormal incidences of gaze-holding test, without fixation test, randomly saccade test, smooth pursuit test and optokinetic nystagmus test were significantly higher than those in BPPV group: 10.81% (8/74) vs. 0, 21.62% (16/74) vs. 0, 45.95% (34/74) vs. 2.50% (1/40), 60.81% (45/74) vs. 5.00% (2/40) and 21.62% (16/74) vs. 0, and there were statistical differences ( P<0.01 or <0.05). There were no statistical differences in the incidences of visual rotation, visual shaking, dysarthria, walking instability and paresthesia between anterior circulation infarction patients and posterior circulation infarction patients ( P>0.05); the incidence of limb weakness in patients with anterior circulation infarction was significantly higher than that in patients with posterior circulation infarction: 50.00% (16/32) vs. 14.29% (6/42), and there was statistical difference ( P<0.01). The result of VNG examination showed there were no statistical differences in the abnormal incidences of eye movement, gaze-holding test, without fixation test, randomly saccade test, smooth pursuit test, optokinetic nystagmus test and position test between anterior circulation infarction patients and posterior circulation infarction patients ( P>0.05). Conclusions:The abnormal incidence of eye movements in patients with acute cerebral infarction is relatively high, and VNG examination can help reflect changes of the eye movement pathway in the brain.

The demographic characteristics, health status and lifestyle information were collected through the questionnaire survey, and endoscope iodine staining and indicative biopsy methods were used for cancer screening among eligible people.The multivariate logistic regression model was used to analyze the risk factors for esophageal cancer and precancerous lesions. Results: The subjects in this study were (56.42±7.24) years old, including 13 193 males (43.40%).There were 936 cases of esophageal cancer and precancerous lesions (3.08%), including 521 males and 415 females.Compared with women, 40-49 years old, high level education, drinking tap water, regular intake of meat, eggs and milk, and family average annual income more than 30 000 RMB, men (OR=1.90, 95%CI: 1.65-2.19), 60-69 years old (OR=5.28, 95%CI: 4.11-7.30), primary school education or below (OR=1.50, 95%CI: 1.20-1.89), drinking groundwater (OR=1.71, 95%CI: 1.38-2.13), never eating meat, eggs and milk (OR=1.48, 95%CI: 1.22-1.80), and family average annual income less than 30 000 RMB (OR=1.41, 95%CI: 1.16-1.70) would increase the risk of esophageal cancer and precancerous lesions. Conclusion The gender, age, educational level, annual household income, drinking water source, the frequency of eating meat, egg and milk were related to the occurrence of esophageal cancer and precancerous lesions among 40-69 years old residents in rural areas of Shandong Province.
