Objective: To explore the short-term improvement effect of physical exercise and cognitive training on inhibitory control function of college students, and to clarify the temporal quantitative-effectiveness relationships between long-term exercise-integrated cognitive interventions and inhibitory control function of college students, in order to provide a reference for promoting inhibitory control function in this population. Methods: College students from Tianjin University of Sport were recruited in May 2022 to participate in the intervention study, which included both short-term and long-term interventions. The short-term intervention used a 2 (physical exercise: yes，no) × 2 (cognitive training: yes，no) between-groups design, with 69 participants randomized into a movement integration cognitive group ( n =18)，a physical exercise group ( n =16)，a cognitive training group ( n =17)，and a control group (sedentary viewing of a health information video, n =18)，for a 30 min intervention.The long term intervention used a mixed experimental design with a 2 (intervention groups; intervention group，control group, between-group variable) ×5 (intervention time: pre-test, 1 week, 4 weeks, 6 weeks, and 8 weeks, within-group variable) mixed experimental design with 24 participants, including 13 in the intervention group，who underwent the exercise-integrated cognitive intervention for 30 min, 3 times per week, and 11 in the control group, who maintained their daily activities without the intervention. The main effects of the independent variables and their interactions were analyzed using covariance and repeated measures ANOVA. Results: There was a statistically significant interaction between physical exercise and cognitive training on accuracy of the Flanker task for the short intervention[ F (1,64) =7.05, P =0.01, η 2 P=0.10], and the simple effect test showed that cognitive training reduced accuracy of responses in the presence of physical exercise condition( P =0.02), and the main effect of physical exercise among college students was significant for the reaction time [ F (1,65) =14.12, P < 0.01 , η 2 p =0.18]; for Flanker task reaction time in the long-term intervention, the main effect of intervention time was significant[ F (4,19) = 3.03 , P =0.04, η 2 P =0.39].However, the intervention results of 1, 4, 6 and 8 weeks in the intervention group [(28.13±10.32)( 14.14 ±26.98)(13.54±25.61)(15.14±21.34)ms] were all better than the pre-test [(77.54± 39.34 )ms], the main effect of intervention group was significant [ F (1,22) =6.96, P =0.02, η =0.24]. Conclusion In a short-term intervention for inhibitory control function in college students, physical exercise is more effective than cognitive training; long-term exercise and cognitive training can improve the inhibitory control function of college students.

Osteoarthritis (OA) causes chronic pain that significantly impairs quality of life, with current treatments often proving insufficient and accompanied by adverse effects. Recent research has identified the dorsal root ganglion (DRG) and its resident macrophages as crucial mediators of chronic OA pain through neuroinflammation driven by macrophage polarization. We present a novel injectable thermo-sensitive hydrogel system, KAF@PLEL, designed to deliver an anti-inflammatory peptide (KAF) specifically to the DRG. This biodegradable hydrogel enables sustained KAF release, promoting the reprogramming of DRG macrophages from pro-inflammatory to anti-inflammatory phenotypes. Through comprehensive in vitro and in vivo studies, we evaluated the hydrogel's biocompatibility, effects on macrophage polarization, and therapeutic efficacy in chronic OA pain management. The system demonstrated significant capabilities in preserving macrophage mitochondrial function, suppressing neuroinflammation, alleviating chronic OA pain, reducing cartilage degradation, and improving motor function in OA rat models. The sustained-release properties of KAF@PLEL enabled prolonged therapeutic effects while minimizing systemic exposure and side effects. These findings suggest that KAF@PLEL represents a promising therapeutic approach for improving outcomes in OA patients through targeted, sustained treatment.

Obesity, as a chronic recurrent disease, has become a major public health challenge in China. To implement the requirements of the Healthy China Initiative (2019—2030), under domestic guidelines or consensus statements on overweight and obesity, and in alignment with the latest scientific advances globally, the Quality control protocol for adult overweight and obesity screening in health management (examination) institutions (2025 edition) was developed. This protocol was drafted by the Health Management Center of Shanghai Changzheng Hospital and formulated through multiple rounds of deliberation by experts in China’s health examination quality control field. The protocol establishes unified standards for screening facilities, personnel qualifications, and measurement or testing procedures. It defines specific screening items, outlines a standardized screening pathway, and sets requirements for the final medical review, ensuring the scientific validity, effectiveness, and safety of the screening process. The implementation of this protocol will enhance the consistency of weight management practices for adults across health examination institutions and strengthen the quality control of overweight and obesity screening programs.

OBJECTIVE: To clarify the preparation methods of four rat models of liver ischemia/reperfusion injury (IRI) and to determine a liver IRI animal model that is consistent with clinical conditions, has stable pathological and physiological injury, and is easy to operate. METHODS: A total of 160 male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into four groups using an interval grouping method: 70% IRI (group A), 100% IRI (group B), 70% IRI with 30% hepatectomy (group C), and 100% IRI with 30% hepatectomy (group D), with 40 rats in each group. Each model was further divided into sham operation group (S group) and ischemia groups of 30, 60, and 90 minutes, with 10 rats in each group. After surgery, the survival status and awakening time of the rats were observed, and the liver lobectomy weight, bleeding volume, and hemostasis time of groups C and D were recorded. Blood samples were collected by cardiac puncture after 6 hours of reperfusion for determination the levels of aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), serum creatinine (SCr), and γ-glutamyl transpeptidase (γ-GT) in the serum to assess liver and kidney function. Hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining and immunohistochemical staining of macrophages were performed to analyze the liver tissue structure damage from a pathological perspective. RESULTS: Rats in group A exhibited earlier awakening and acceptable mental status, while rats in the other groups showed delayed awakening and poor mental status. The hemostasis time in group D was approximately 1 second longer than that in group C. The mortality of rats subjected to 60 minutes of 70% hepatic ischemia was 0. Compared to the sham operation group, rats in each experimental group showed significant increases in serum levels of AST, ALT, ALP, BUN, SCr, and γ-GT, indicating impaired liver and kidney function in the rat models of liver IRI. In groups A, B, and C, the 90-minute ischemia subgroup exhibited more pronounced elevation in AST, ALT, ALP, BUN, SCr, and γ-GT levels compared to the 30-minute ischemia subgroup [AST (U/L): group A, 834.94±56.73 vs. 258.74±18.33; group B, 547.63±217.40 vs. 277.67±57.92; group C, 930.38±75.48 vs. 640.51±194.20; ALT (U/L): group A, 346.78±25.47 vs. 156.58±13.25; group B, 408.40±138.25 vs. 196.80±58.60; group C, 596.41±193.32 vs. 173.76±72.43; ALP (U/L): group A, 431.21±34.30 vs. 315.95±15.64; group B, 525.88±62.13 vs. 215.63±17.31; group C, 487.53±112.37 vs. 272.46±92.33; BUN (U/L): group A, 18.35±5.63 vs. 14.32±2.30; group B, 30.21±4.55 vs. 17.41±8.14; group C, 20.50±3.64 vs. 15.93±3.22; SCr (U/L): group A, 27.47±8.91 vs. 22.37±5.66; group B, 43.60±15.57 vs. 36.80±7.95; group C, 63.81±20.24 vs. 42.47±7.03; γ-GT (U/L): group A, 15.64±3.57 vs. 6.82±1.48; group B, 9.28±1.91 vs. 5.62±1.21; group C, 10.98±3.18 vs. 5.67±1.10; all P < 0.05]. The 100% IRI 90-minute group and 100% IRI 90-minute group with 30% hepatectomy exhibited more pronounced increases in the above-mentioned indicators compared to the corresponding 70% IRI control group, indicating increased liver and kidney damage in rats subjected to combined blood flow occlusion and hepatectomy. HE staining showed clear liver tissue structure with intact and orderly arranged cells in the sham operation group, while the experimental groups exhibited cell structure damage, including cell rupture or collapse, cell swelling, nuclear pyknosis, deep cytoplasm staining, cell shedding, and necrosis. The interstitium showed infiltration of inflammatory cells. Immunohistochemical staining revealed a higher number of macrophages in the experimental groups compared to the sham operation group. CONCLUSIONS Four models of liver IRI in rat were successfully established. As the duration and severity of hepatic ischemia increased, liver cell ischemia worsened, leading to increased hepatocellular necrosis and exhibiting characteristic features of liver IRI. These models can effectively simulate liver IRI following liver trauma, with the group subjected to 100% ischemia and 30% hepatectomy showing the most severe liver injury. The designed models are reasonable, easy to perform, and exhibit good reproducibility. They can be used for investigating the mechanisms, therapeutic efficacy, and diagnostic methods related to clinical liver IRI.

Objective:To explore the effect of patient engagement on medication safety for patients with chronic disease through a systematic review.Methods:Relevant randomized controlled trials of patient engagement on medication safety were searched from PubMed, EMBASE, The Cochrane Library, CNKI, Wanfang and VIP database. The literature was screened according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, and data extraction and literature quality evaluation was conducted on the selected literature.Results:A total of 15 eligible studies was included. Most of the studies occurred in outpatient and home settings, and the subjects were patients with chronic diseases. Patient engagement strategies can be divided into three categories: (1) patient engagement in medical decision-making; (2) patient engagement in medication adjustment; (3) patient engagement in medication management. The outcomes of medication safety included medication adherence, medication knowledge, medication beliefs, adverse events and medication errors. Intervention strategies for patients to actively engage in medication safety significantly improved patients′ medication knowledge and beliefs, but did not improve medication adherence of patients.Conclusion:Promoting patient active engagement is an effective intervention measure to improve patients ′ perception of medication safety. Due to the limited quality and quantity of the included studies, more high-quality studies are needed to verify the above conclusions.

Background::Understanding the characteristics of newly diagnosed primary human deficiency virus-1 (HIV-1) infection in the context of the post-antiretroviral therapy era and HIV drug prophylaxis is essential for achieving the new target of 95-95-95-95 by 2025. This study reported the characteristics of newly diagnosed primary HIV-1 infection in Shenzhen.Methods::This is a real-world retrospective study. Eighty-seven newly diagnosed primary HIV-1-infected patients were recruited from January 2021 to March 2022 at the Third People’s Hospital of Shenzhen. Demographic, epidemiological, diagnostic, drug resistance, and medical data were described and analyzed.Results::Overall, 96.6% (84/87) of the newly identified primary HIV-1-infected patients were male, including 88.5% (77/87) men have sex with men (MSM), with a median age of 29.0 years (Q 1-Q 3: 24.0-34.0 years); of these, 85.1% (74/87) reported high-risk sexual behaviors with casual partners. The rate of condom usage was only 28.7% (25/87). The overall rate of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) was 8.0% (7/87, including 4 PrEP and 3 PEP cases) around the potential exposure, although 41.4% of the patients had prior awareness of such interventions. Moreover, only 19.5% (17/87) had previously used PrEP or PEP. Of those, 58.8% (10/17) of the patients obtained drugs from the internet, and only 35.3% (6/17) reported good compliance. A total of 54.0% (47/87) of subjects were diagnosed by the HIV nucleic acid test. Acute retroviral syndrome appeared in 54.0% (47/87) of patients. The prevalence of transmitted drug resistance (TDR) mutation was 33.9% (19/56), including 6 (10.7%) against nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) plus non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI), 8 (14.3%) against NNRTI, and 5 (8.9%) against protease inhibitor (PI) only. Conclusions::Owing to the low utilization rate and incorrect usage of PrEP and PEP, massive efforts are needed to promote HIV-preventive strategies in the MSM population. The extremely high prevalence of TDR mutation in this population implies the need for future pretreatment drug resistance surveillance.

Objective To analyze the first degree relatives of schizophrenia cognitive function damage degree and range, and make reasonable cognitive behavior intervention program. Methods Prospective selected 108 patients in Palit Provincial Hospital who were diagnosed with schizophrenia as the patient group, selected the same period first-degree relatives of patients with 108 cases as the kinship group, another 108 healthy volunteers were recruited to the normal group, compare and analyze the detection results of cognitive function of schizophrenia complete sets of test ing-consensus Version (MCCB) between the three groups and accordingly develope targeted cognitive interventions. Results Of all the 10 test of MCCB, the difference in verbal fluency between three groups was not significant (P>0.05),the remaining nine scores all had statistically significant difference(P<0.05)among three groups. There were sta-tistically significant differences(P<0.05) in all eight scores except continuous operational capability and verbal fluency between kin group and normal group,the differences in the spatial extent,symbol coding, maze,continuous operation ability were significant(P<0.05) between kin group and patients group. Conclusion First-degree relatives of patients with schizophrenia prevalence of cognitive impairment,cognitive behavior reasonable intervention can improve patients cognitive function level,improve the quality of life.

ObjectiveTo explore the expression of CD3+ CD8+ human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-A2+T lymphocytes with specificity to the different hepatitis B virus (HBV) peptides in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC)from the patients with hepatitis B associated hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).MethodsThe HLA-A2+ PBMC from four patients with hepatitis B associated HCC were incubated with five HBV/HLA-A2 pentamers respectively,which were HBV sAg (FLLTRILTI),HBV sAg (GLSPTVWLSV),HBV sAg (WLSLLVPFV),HBV core (FLPSDFFPSV),and HBV pol (FLLSLGIHL),as well as anti-CD3-pacific blue and anti-CD8-fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC).Then,HBV/HLA-A2-CD3-CD8 positive cells were detected by flow cytometry. The monoclonal HBV/HLA-A2-CD3-CD8+ cells were acquired by fluorescenceactivated cell sorter,and cultured and identified by flow cytometry.The anti-HBV specific T lymphocytes were then cultured with HepG2 (HLA-A2+ ) cells and the release of interferon γ (IFN-γ)were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA),Res(a)ltsThe percentage of antiHBV T lymphoeytes with specificity to GLSPTVWLSV in total CD8+ T lymphoeytes from four patients with hepatitis B associated HCC was 1.44％±0.04％,which was higher than those to other four HBV antigen peptides (0.68％±0.08％ of FLLTRILTI,1.06％±0.09％ of FLPSDFFPSV,0.56％ ±0.04％ of FLLSLGIHL,and 0.46％ ±0.08％ of WLSLLVPFV) (t=0.001,P＜0.05).The two lines of monoclonal cell with specificity to GLSPTVWLSV both exhibited high level of IFN-γ expression after incubated with hepatic carcinoma cell line HepG2 (HLA-A2+)with HBV GLSPTVWLSV peptide.ConclusionsCD3+ CD8+ HLA-A2+ cells with specificity to the different HBV peptides exist in PBMC of patients with hepatitis B associated HCC.The expression level depends on HBV antigen peptide sequences and genomic sites.

Objective To investigate and compare the features of the HIV-1-specific CTL responses among three HIV-infected groups with varied infection history. Methods Three HIV-infeeted groups were enrolled in this study, including two groups infected by blood transmission (one group has been infected for more than 10 years and the other for 1-2 years) and one group of the man who have sex with man. The HIV-1-specific CTL responses were quantified by an IFN-γ based ELISPot assay with a peptide matrix system containing overlapping peptides spanning the entire HIV-1 Clade B genomic consensus sequences. Results The responding rate of CTL responses against all 17 peptide pools among the group that infected 1-2 years,the group infected more than 10 years and the group of MSM were 40% ,65% ,23%. One way ANOVO analysis showed that the responding rate of CTL responses against all 17 peptide pools were statistical significant among the three groups (F=19.96, P＜0.01);the magnitude of CTL responses of the three groups were 0-5 835 SFCs/106 PBMC, 0-7 225 SFCs/106PBMC, 0-9 740SFCs/106pBMC, Kruskal-Wallis test showed that the magnitude of CTL responses were statistical significant among the three groups( H = 101.90 , P ＜0.01);the breadth of CTL were 7 ( 2-11 ), 11(9-14) and 4 (2-6) respectively and Kruskal- Wallis test showed that the breadth of CTL had no statistical significant among the three groups( H = 34. 75 ,P ＜0. 01 ). The sequence of responding rate, magnitude and breadth of CTL from high to low was the group that had been infected for more than 10 years, the group infected 1-2 years and the sex transmission group. The common characteristics of the CTL response among the three groups were that the responding rate and the magnitude of the peptide Nef and Gag was higher than other peptide's. The magnitude of CTL responses among three different CD4count groups (CD4 ＜ 200/μl, CD4 200-500/μl, CD4 ≥500/μl,) was 0-18 475 SFCs/106pBMC, 350-34 095 SFCs/106pBMC, 490-21 550 SFCs/106 PBMC and had no statistic difference among the three different CD4 groups(H=2.93, P=0.23) while the breadth of CTL was 3(0-8), 10(2-17), 10 (1-17)respoctively and the breadth of CTL was lower in the group of CD4 count less than 200/μl than the other two groups( H = 14. 72, P ＜ 0. 01 ). The magnitude of CTL responses among three different viral load (VL)groups (VL＜ LDL, LDL ＜ VL ＜ 1 × 104 copys/ml, VL≥1 ×104 copys/ml) was 490-18 475 SFCs/106pBMC, 0-24 115 SFCs/106pBMC, 770-34 095 SFCs/106 pBMC and had no statistic difference among the three different viral load groups ( H = 0.79, P=0.67) and the breadth of the three different viral load groups CTL was 8( 1-17), 11 (0-17), 8 (1-16) and Kruskal-Wallis test showed that there was no statistic difference among the three different viral load groups (H =5.27, P =0. 07). Conclusions All groups predominantly develope T cell immune responses against Nef and Gag proteins. With the elapse of HIV infection, the CTL responses are increased in both magnitude and responding rate. This information is important for vaccine development.
