Objective:
To compare the effects of height-desk-chair matching on the viewing distance of primary school students before and after intervention, so as to provide scientific basis for the hygiene management of desks and chairs.
Methods:
From April to June 2025, a random cluster sampling method was used to select 141 third grade students from three classes equipped with adjustable desks and chairs in a primary school in Hefei City for a height-desk-chair matching intervention study. The height of students desks and chairs was adjusted according to the standard height and height range specified in the Functional Sizes and Technical Requirements of Chairs and Tables for Educational Institutions (GB/T 3976-2014), with an intervention period of one week. Before and after the intervention, eye use data were measured by using the electronic smart device "Cloud Clip", while collecting data on vision data viewing distance, time spent using eyes at close range and outdoor time, desk and chair height, and physical examination. Linear regression analysis was used to investigate the factors related to viewing distance before the intervention of height-desk-chair matching, and a paired t-test was used to analyze the difference in viewing distance before and after the intervention. A mixed effects model was used to explore the effect of height desk and chair adaptation intervention on viewing distance.
Results:
The compliance rates for desk and chair adjustments before and after the intervention were 1.4% and 18.4%, respectively, with a statistically significant difference ( χ 2=22.84, P <0.01). The viewing distance increased from (30.48±5.01) cm before intervention to (32.06±5.75) cm post intervention, with a statistically significant difference ( t=4.57, P <0.01). The proportion of students meeting the viewing distance standard increased from 33.3% to 51.1%. The linear mixedeffects model results indicated that the association between height appropriate desk and chair interventions and viewing distance was statistically significant, regardless of whether covariates such as time spent using eyes at close range and outdoor time were adjusted ( β=-1.58, 95%CI = -2.25 to -0.91; β=-1.14, 95%CI =-1.85 to -0.43, both P <0.05).
Conclusion
Height adjusted desks and chairs, which can effectively increase the viewing distance for primary school students, has positive implications for improving healthy eye care behaviors among children and adolescents.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2025;46(11):1544-1548
Objective:
To analyze the association of participation in non-sports extracurricular tutoring classes with the prevalence of screening myopia, axial length (AL) and axial length to corneal radius ratio (AL/CR) among primary school students, so as to provide evidences for formulating myopia prevention and control policies.
Methods:
In December 2024, combination of convenience and cluster sampling method was used to select 2 273 students from two primary schools in Hefei City, Anhui Province. Ophthalmic examinations and questionnaire surveys were conducted to obtain information on myopia, AL, AL/CR and participation in various types of extracurricular tutoring. A binary Logistic regression model was used to analyze the association between non-sports tutoring and screening myopia, and multiple linear regression models were used to examine the associations between non-sports tutoring and AL and AL/CR.
Results:
Among the surveyed students, the participation rate in non-sports extracurricular tutoring classes was 64.9% , and the overall prevalence of screening myopia was 39.1%. The average AL and AL/CR were (23.60± 1.01 ) mm and (3.00±0.12), respectively. Univariate analysis showed that students who attended non-sports, music, or academic tutoring classes for ≥2 h per week had higher risks of screening myopia and greater AL/CR values than non-participants (screening myopia: OR =1.38, 1.82, 1.55; AL/CR: β =0.01, 0.03, 0.03; all P <0.05). After adjusting for sex, grade, and participation in sports tutoring, multivariate analysis indicated that participation in non-sports and musical instrument tutoring classes for ≥2 h per week remained significantly associated with higher risks of screening myopia ( OR =1.26, 1.49, both P <0.05). Multiple linear regression showed that participation in musical instrument tutoring for ≥2 h per week was positively correlated with AL ( β=0.14, P < 0.05).
Conclusions
Participation in non-sports extracurricular tutoring is common among primary school students. Attending non-sports tutoring classes for ≥2 h per week increases the risk of screening myopia.

Chinese Journal of Trauma 2024;40(3):193-205
Osteoporotic proximal humeral fracture (OPHF) is one of the common osteoporotic fractures in the aged, with an incidence only lower than vertebral compression fracture, hip fracture, and distal radius fracture. OPHF, secondary to osteoporosis and characterized by poor bone quality, comminuted fracture pattern, slow healing, and severely impaired shoulder joint function, poses a big challenge to the current clinical diagnosis and treatment. In the field of diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of OPHF, traditional Chinese and Western medicine have accumulated rich experience and evidence from evidence-based medicine and achieved favorable outcomes. However, there is still a lack of guidance from a relevant consensus as to how to integrate the advantages of the two medical systems and achieve the integrated diagnosis and treatment. To promote the diagnosis and treatment of OPHF with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, relevant experts from Orthopedic Expert Committee of Geriatric Branch of Chinese Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics, Youth Osteoporosis Group of Orthopedic Branch of Chinese Medical Association, Osteoporosis Group of Orthopedic Surgeon Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, and Osteoporosis Committee of Shanghai Association of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine have been organized to formulate Expert consensus on the diagnosis and treatment of osteoporotic proximal humeral fracture with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine ( version 2024) by searching related literatures and based on the evidences from evidence-based medicine. This consensus consists of 13 recommendations about the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of OPHF with integrated traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine, aimed at standardizing, systematizing, and personalizing the diagnosis and treatment of OPHF with integrated traditional Chinse and Western medicine to improve the patients ′ function.

Objective:
The study aims to analyze the prevalence and associated factors of myopia among 4 to 9 grade students in Guangdong Province in 2022, so as to provide a scientific basis for targeted intervention measures for myopia in children and adolescents.
Methods:
From September to October 2022, stratified cluster random sampling was used to select 29 095 of 4 to 9 grade students from Guangzhou, Jiangmen, and Meizhou in Guangdong Province for myopia screening and questionnaire surveys. The Chisquare test was applied to compare the differences between groups, and multivariable Logistic stepwise regression analysis was used to analyze factors associated with myopia.
Results:
The myopia detection rate of 4 to 9 grade students was 61.7%, with detection rates of 51.5% for 4 to 6 grade primary school students and 71.95% for 7 to 9 grade junior high school students. Multivariable Logistic regression analysis showed that higher myopia rates were detected among girls (OR=1.39, 95%CI=1.30-1.49), students with one (OR=1.82, 95%CI=1.69-1.96) or both parents having myopia (OR=2.86, 95%CI=2.56-3.18), and indoor sedentary time >6 h(OR=1.28, 95%CI=1.17-1.39) in the 4 to 6 grade. Lower myopia rates were detected in the county (OR=0.92, 95%CI=0.86-0.99) and outdoors at recess activities (OR=0.88, 95%CI=0.81-0.95). Meanwhile, higher myopia rates were detected among girls (OR=1.84, 95%CI=1.69-1.99), students with one (OR=1.87, 95%CI=1.71-2.04) or both parents having myopia (OR=3.03, 95%CI=2.63-3.50), and indoor sedentary time >6 h/d (OR=1.11, 95%CI=1.01-1.23) in the 7 to 9 grade. Lower myopia rates were detected in the county (OR=0.74, 95%CI=0.68-0.80), outdoors at recess activities (OR=0.83, 95%CI=0.76-0.91), and outdoor activity time ≥2 h/d(OR=0.87, 95%CI=0.80-0.95)(P<0.05).
Conclusions
The detection rate of myopia among 4 to 9 grade students in Guangdong Province is relatively high. Place of recess activities, daily outdoor activity and indoor sedentary duration are associated with myopia. Therefore, targeted intervention measures should be adopted, such as appropriately increasing outdoor activity to reduce the occurrence of myopia among primary and middle school students.

Chinese Journal of Radiation Oncology 2024;33(9):825-832
Objective:To evaluate the effect of different reconstruction points of intrauterine applicator on the source dwell positions and plan dosimetry in intracavitary brachytherapy for cervical cancer. Methods:Clinical data of 43 patients with cervical cancer who had completed radical radiotherapy in Liuzhou Workers' Hospital from May 2020 to October 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. Among 43 patients, aged 32-79 years, 40 cases were diagnosed with squamous carcinoma and 3 cases of adenocarcinoma. All patients received external irradiation for 50.4 Gy / 28 fractions and CT-guided intracavitary brachytherapy (45° intrauterine applicator) was 36 Gy / 6 fractions. Brachytherapy was performed by using Fletcher applicator, the curvature of intrauterine applicator were 15°, 30°and45°. Two sets of brachytherapy plans were simulated for each patient. One set of plans extracted the simulated CT positioning images and the original plan of the patient's brachytherapy. The reconstruction point of the curved part of the 45° intrauterine applicator was adjusted to slice-by-slice reconstruction. The plan was optimized to meet clinical requirements according to the prescription, which was called the slice-by-slice group. In the other set of plans, slice-by-slice group was used as a template. The reconstruction points of the curved section of the 45° intrauterine applicator were adjusted to 1, 3, 5, and 7, without modifying the applicator weights and other parameters, which was called the average group 1, 3, 5 and 7. The deviation analysis of 15°, 30° and 45° intrauterine applicator with different number of reconstruction points was carried out, the reconstruction deviation of 45°, 30° and 15° intrauterine applicator at different reconstruction points was compared. Paired-sample t-test or Wilcoxon signed rank test were used to compare the differences in high-risk clinical target volume (HR-CTV) D 50%, D 90%, D 100%, V 100%, V 150%, V 200% and conformity index (CI) as well as D 2 cm3, D 1 cm3 and D 0.1 cm3 in bladder, rectum, and small intestine between two groups of 45° intrauterine applicator. Results:The reconstruction deviation in the average group was mainly from the vertical direction of the 45° intrauterine applicator. The mean reconstruction deviations of 45° (1, 3, 5, 7 reconstruction points), 30° (1, 3, 5 reconstruction points) and 15° (1, 2 reconstruction points) were 1.30 mm, 0.32 mm, 0.14 mm and 0.08 mm; 0.57 mm, 0.14 mm and 0.06 mm; 0.14 mm and 0.06 mm, respectively. There was no significant difference in the parameters of high-risk clinical target volume (HR-CTV) in the slice-by-slice group compared with the average group 5 and 7 (all P>0.005), and no significant difference was found between the average group 5 and 7 (all P>0.005). There were no statistically significant differences in bladder and rectum doses between the slice-by-slice group and the average groups or within the average groups (all P>0.005). The parameters of small intestine in the slice-by-slice group were higher than those of the average group 1, the difference was statistically significant ( P=0.002,<0.001,<0.001). The dose of small intestine in the slice-by-slice group was not statistically significant compared with those in the average group 5 and 7 (both P>0.005). The dose of small intestine in the average group 5 was not statistically significant compared with that in the average group 7 ( P>0.005). The small intestine dose deviations of D 0.1 cm3, D 1 cm3 and D 2 cm3 in the average groups at 1 reconstruction point were 2.41%±1.70%, 1.95%±1.27% and 1.71%±1.10%, respectively. Conclusion:The number of reconstruction points is recommended to be no less than 1, 3 and 5 of the curved part of the 15°, 30°and 45° Fletcher intrauterine applicator, respectively, during intracavitary brachytherapy for cervical cancer.

Objective:To explore the application and research progress of lasers in the treatment of kidney neoplasms through an integrated bibliometric and Meta-analysis study. Methods:On June 7th, 2024, an online search of the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) databases for all relevant literature on lasers in kidney neoplasms was conducted. The retrieved results were subjected to a comprehensive bibliometric analysis. The high-quality studies were then screened to further describe the clinical characteristics of patients who underwent laser-assisted laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (LLPN). Subsequently, a Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.4.1 software on further selected high-quality studies to compare the changes in renal function before and after LLPN treatment, and the differences in efficacy between LLPN and traditional laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (LPN).Results:Our study obtained a total of 549 publications on lasers in kidney neoplasms, including 513 in English and 36 in Chinese. Bibliometric analysis revealed an overall upward trend in the annual publications and citations in this field. China was found to be a leading contributor ranking second in total publications ( n=100, 18.2%). The primary application of laser treatment was in nephron-sparing surgery for kidney neoplasms, especially in LPN. We further screened 11 high-quality studies comprising 284 patients who underwent LLPN for kidney neoplasms. Comprehensive descriptive statistical analysis was performed on clinical characteristics of the 284 patients. All patients had T 1a stage tumors with a mean tumor length of 2.6 cm (range: 0.8-4.0 cm), all being local, solitary, and exophytic tumors. Further Meta-analysis indicated that there were no significant differences in renal function indicators including both serum creatinine levels ( MD=4.52, 95% CI-9.73-0.69, P = 0.09) and estimated glomerular filtration rate ( MD=3.05, 95% CI-1.03-7.13, P= 0.14) before and after LLPN. Additionally, compared to traditional LPN, LLPN showed significantly reduced operative time ( MD=-10.58, 95% CI= -13.11-8.06, P<0.001), but no significant differences in estimated blood loss ( MD= -27.09, 95% CI-67.38-13.21, P=0.19) and hospital stay ( MD=-1.59, 95% CI-3.42-0.25, P=0.09). Conclusions:The application of lasers in managing of kidney neoplasms is arousing increasing attention among urologists. LLPN offers several advantages, including precise cutting and effective hemostasis. This technique demonstrates considerable clinical value for patients with exophytic T 1a kidney neoplasms undergoing "zero-ischemia" nephron-sparing surgery.
