Objective: To explore the effect of a computer assisted audiovisual combined intervention model on the core symptoms of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), in order to provide references for enriching intervention and treatment methods for ASD children. Methods: From December 2023 to March 2024, 36 ASD children aged 4-8 years were recruited from Tianjin Disabled Persons Rehabilitation Center and Xinxinyu Children s Rehabilitation Center, and were divided into a training group (22 cases) and a control group (14 cases). The training group completed a 12 week audiovisual training course (visual sessions:twice a week, for 50-60 minutes each session; auditory sessions:three times a week, for 15 minutes each time), while the control group received only conventional treatment interventions. Before and after the intervention, the core symptoms of ASD children were assessed using the Short Sensory Profile (SSP), Social Responsiveness Scale (SRS), and Repetitive Behavior Questionnaire-2 ( RBQ- 2). Eye tracking experiments were used to test preferences for social attention. Results: Before the intervention, there were no statistically significant differences in the total scores and factor scores of the SSP and RBQ-2 scales between the two groups ( t =-1.63, 0.38, both P >0.05). The SRS total score, social communication, and restricted interests and repetitive behavior factor scores of the training group (90.68±25.83, 33.36±11.80, 15.64±7.00) were significantly higher than those of the control group (72.29±19.84, 24.93±7.85, 10.21±5.67) ( t =2.27, 2.36, 2.43, all P <0.05). Children in the training group with higher social communication factor scores before the intervention scored lower than the control group at the post intervention test (simple slope=-14.17, t =-2.48, P = 0.02), while there was no statistically significant difference in post intervention scores between children with lower social communication factor scores before the intervention and the control group (simple slope=2.31, t =0.57, P >0.05). Eye tracking experiments showed that the total fixation time on geometric images decreased significantly more in the training group [ -4.56 (-11.42, 1.21)] compared to the control group [6.55 (-0.32, 16.53)] after the intervention ( Z=2.48, P <0.05). Conclusions The computer assisted audiovisual intervention model can effectively improve the core symptoms of ASD children with poorer social communication levels. The promotion of the intervention model needs to consider individual differences in ASD.

Current treatments, such as bisphosphonates, are effective but associated with adverse effects like medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw, necessitating safer alternatives. METHODS: This study investigated the use of L-serine-incorporated gelatin sponges for bone regeneration in calvarial defects in an ovariectomized rat model of osteoporosis. Thirty rats were divided into three groups: a control group, a group treated with a gelatin sponge containing an amino acid mixture, and a group treated with a gelatin sponge containing L-serine. Bone regeneration was assessed using micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) and histological analyses. RESULTS: The L-serine group showed a significant increase in bone volume (BV) and bone area compared to the control and amino acid groups. The bone volume to total volume (BV/TV) ratio was also significantly higher in the L-serine group.Immunohistochemical analysis demonstrated that L-serine treatment suppressed the expression of cathepsin K, a marker of osteoclast activity, while increasing serine racemase activity. CONCLUSION These findings suggest that L-serine-incorporated gelatin sponges not only enhance bone formation but also inhibit osteoclast-mediated bone resorption, providing a promising and safer alternative to current therapies for osteoporosis-related bone defects. Further research is needed to explore its clinical applications in human patients.

This new nomenclature recognizes metabolic dysfunction as the central driver of the disease, and the diagnostic criteria now require the presence of hepatic steatosis plus at least one of five cardiometabolic risk factors. B-mode ultrasonography remains the most common and practical method for detecting hepatic steatosis, although newer ultrasound techniques based on attenuation, backscatter, and speed of sound have gained traction as tools to diagnose and quantify hepatic steatosis. Additionally, ultrasound elastography is increasingly used in routine clinical practice to assess liver fibrosis, diagnose cirrhosis, and identify clinically significant portal hypertension.

In managing metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease, which affects over 30% of the general population, effective noninvasive biomarkers for assessing disease severity, monitoring disease progression, predicting the development of liver-related complications, and assessing treatment response are crucial. The advantage of simple fibrosis scores lies in their widespread accessibility through routinely performed blood tests and extensive validation in different clinical settings. They have shown reasonable accuracy in diagnosing advanced fibrosis and good performance in excluding the majority of patients with a low risk of liver-related complications. Among patients with elevated serum fibrosis scores, a more specific fibrosis and imaging biomarker has proved useful to accurately identify patients at risk of liver-related complications. Among specific fibrosis blood biomarkers, enhanced liver fibrosis is the most widely utilized and has been approved in the United States as a prognostic biomarker. For imaging biomarkers, the availability of vibration-controlled transient elastography has been largely improved over the past years, enabling the use of liver stiffness measurement (LSM) for accurate assessment of significant and advanced fibrosis, and cirrhosis. Combining LSM with other routinely available blood tests enhances the ability to diagnose at-risk metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis and predict liver-related complications, some reaching an accuracy comparable to that of liver biopsy. Magnetic resonance imaging-based modalities provide the most accurate quantification of liver fibrosis, though the current utilization is limited to research settings. Expanding their future use in clinical practice depends on factors such as cost and facility availability.

BackgroundPost-traumatic stress symptoms （PTSS） is highly prevalent in adolescents who have experienced earthquake， which seriously threatens their physical and mental health， yet there is currently a lack of research on the effects of loneliness， social support and social media use on PTSS among post-earthquake adolescents. ObjectiveTo assess the PTSS among adolescents experiencing MS6.0 Luxian， Sichuan， earthquake on 16 September 2021， and to investigate the effects of loneliness， social support and social media use on PTSS， so as to provide references for the intervention of PTSS among post-earthquake adolescents. MethodsOn November 12， 2021， simple random sampling technique was used to select 2 522 post-earthquake adolescents in Luxian county of Luzhou city in Sichuan province. All subjects were assessed using Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Checklist for DSM-5 （PCL-5）， Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support （MSPSS）， Short-form UCLA Loneliness Scale （ULS-3） and Social Media Use Scale （SM-10）. Binary Logistic regression was used to determine the factors influencing PTSS among post-earthquake adolescents. ResultsPTSS was detected in 91 （3.61%） adolescents. Binary Logistic regression revealed that perceived social support from family members （OR=0.926， 95% CI： 0.879~0.976） was a protective factor for PTSS among post-earthquake adolescents. Lack of companionship （OR=1.764， 95% CI： 1.141~2.727）， feeling isolated （OR=2.037， 95% CI： 1.282~3.236）， and viewing negative emotional response of disaster victims through social media （OR=1.615， 95% CI： 1.291~2.020） were risk factors for PTSS among post-earthquake adolescents.
