OBJECTIVE:
To investigate effectiveness of simplified all-arthroscopic Broström technique in treatment of chronic lateral ankle instability in adolescents.
METHODS:
A clinical data of 21 adolescent patients with chronic lateral ankle instability, who met the selection criteria and were admitted between June 2023 and May 2024, was retrospectively analyzed. There were 18 males and 3 females with an average age of 16.0 years (range, 13-18 years). There were 9 cases of left ankle joint injury and 12 cases of right ankle joint injury. Anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL) injury was diagnosed by arthroscopy in all patients. There were 11 cases of cartilage injury, 5 cases of avulsion fractures, and 6 cases of ankle impingement syndrome. The time from first sprain to operation ranged from 3-60 months (mean, 12.0 months). The ATFL was repaired and the ankle joint stability was restored by simplified all-arthroscopic Broström technique. Visual analogue scale (VAS) score, Tegner score, American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) score, Karlsson ankle function scale (KAFS) score, Foot and Ankle Outcome Score (FAOS) were used to evaluate ankle pain and function. MRI was used to evaluate the ligament healing.
RESULTS:
All patients were followed up 8-15 months (mean, 12.6 months). After operation, 1 patient suffered from superficial peroneal nerve injury, 1 patient developed anterior scar impingement on the ankle, 2 patients had superficial wound infection, and 1 patient suffered from sprain again. The VAS score, Tenger score, AOFAS score, KAFS score, and FAOS score significantly improved when compared with the preoperative scores ( P<0.05). MRI examination showed the ligament healing and good tension.
CONCLUSION
For adolescent patients with chronic lateral ankle instability, using simplified all-arthroscopic Broström technique to repair ATFL can effectively alleviate ankle pain, improve stability, and achieve good effectiveness.

Objective To analyze the pathogen distribution and drug‐resistance characteristics in the patients with lung cancer complicating non‐fermentative bacteria lung infection to provide the basis for clinicians to prevent infection and rationally use anti‐bacterial drugs .Methods The clinically submitted respiratory tract specimens in the patients with lung cancer in our hospital from January 2009 to July 2015 were retrospectively analyzed .The isolated pathogenic bacteria were identified by adopting the France Bio‐plum‐Egyptian company Vitek2‐Compact identification instrument ,the drug sensitivity test was conducted by using the K‐B disk diffusion method .The statistical analysis of data was performed by adopting the WHONET 5 .6 software .Results 176 strains of non‐fermentative bacteria mainly came from sputum ,accounting for 80 .1% ,the detection rate of Pseudomonas aeruginosa was highest ,accounting for 48 .2% ,followed by Acinetobacter baumannii and Stenotrophomonas maltophilia ,accounting for 32 .4% and 16 .5% respectively ;the drug susceptibility test results showed that non‐fermentative bacteria had different degrees of resistance to antibacterial drugs or even multiple drug resistance ,in which the resistance of Pseudomonas aeruginosa to amikacin ,tobramycin and cefoperazone/sulbactam ,the resistance of Acinetobacter baumannii to amikacin ,cefoperazone/sulbactam and the resistance of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia to minocycline ,cotrimoxazole and cefoperazone/sulbactam were less than 30 .0% ,which to other an‐tibacterial drugs were more than 30 .0% .Conclusion Non‐fermentative bacteria are common pathogenic bacteria in hospital infec‐tion ,non‐fermentative bacteria isolated from the patients with lung cancer complicating pulmonary infection have serious resistance to commonly used antibacterial drugs ,therefore clinic should strengthen the monitoring of pathogenic bacteria and drug resistance . Cefoperazone/sulbactam is the first choice for treating these bacterial infections .

Objective To investigate the molecular mechanism of As 2 O3 in suppressing metastasis of esophagus carcinoma cells. Methods The 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl-tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay, adhesion and invasion assay were performed to observe the inhibitory effect of As 2 O3 on proliferation and metastasis of esophagus carcinoma cells .The expressions of matrix metalloproteinases ( MMP)2, MMP9, E-cadherin, and protein tyrosine phosphatase receptor-type O ( PTPRO) were analyzed with Western blot .Results Exposure to As 2 O3 significantly presented suppressive functions on growth and metastasis of esophagus carcinoma cells in a dose-dependent manner ( P <0.01 ) .Additionally , MMP2 and MMP9 expressions were increased after treatment with casticin ( P <0.01 ) , whereas E-cadherin and PTPRO expressions were down-regulated ( P <0.01 ) .Conclusions As2 O3 had a significant function to inhibit proliferation and metastasis of esophagus carcinoma cells .
