Objective To propose a dynamic electrical impedance tomography imaging algorithm based on complementary information fusion network(CIFN)to enhance image quality of dynamic electrical impedance imaging.Methods There were three modules for initialization,multi-frame complementary information extraction and information fusion involved in the CIFN.Firstly,multi-frame dynamic conductivity distribution images were obtained by the initialization module;secondly,spatial complementary information was extracted from the images by using the multi-frame complementary information extraction module;finally,the fusion of lesion target distribution information and target re-reconstruction were realized by the information fusion module to aquire high-quality EIT images.With a 16-electrode multilayer cranial simulation model,the CIFN-based imaging method was compared with Tikhonov regularization algorithm,spectral constraint algorithm and U-Net algorithm in terms of imaging results of types of lesions to verify its performance.Results Compared with the Tikhonov regularization algorithm,spectral constraint algorithm and U-Net algorithm,the proposed CIFN-based algorithm exhibited the lowest mean absolute error(MAE)and the highest structural similarity(SSIM)when used to image different lesion targets,which accurately reconstructed the distribution of lesion targets and gained high imaging stability under common noise levels.Conclusion The proposed CIFN-based imaging algorithm obtains high imaging quality on a cranial simulation model and reconstruction results close to the real model distribution,which provides algorithmic support for subsequent clinical studies on electrical impedance imaging.[Chinese Medical Equipment Journal,2025,46(6):1-6]

Objective To explore the time cross-lagged effect between carotid intima-media thickness(CIMT)and bone mineral density(BMD)and to assess whether CIMT can be used as an early predictor of osteoporosis.Methods Based on the retrospective cohort study involved,people who underwent health checkups at The First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University from January 2019 to December 2023 were selected,and data related to CIMT and BMD were collected.The time-series relationship between CIMT and BMD was explored by cross-lagged modeling.Meanwhile,the effects of CIMT on BMD and its dose-response relationship were assessed using multiple linear regression and restricted cubic spline regression models.Results Analysis of 2 453 study subjects revealed a significant negative relationship between prior physical examination CIMT and subsequent BMD,and this relationship remained significant after controlling for confounders.For every 1-unit increase in CIMT,there was a mean decrease in second-stage BMD T-values of 0.113.Restricted cubic spline regression analysis showed a maximum decrease in BMD T-values of 0.121 for every 1.00 mm increase in CIMT.Conclusion The present study found that there was a significant negative cross-lag effect between CIMT and BMD,and that there was a dose-response between an increase in CIMT and a decrease in BMD.CIMT,as an easy-to-measure indicator,may be a potential marker for early prediction of osteoporosis,especially in the elderly population.

OBJECTIVE: This study reports the first imported case of Lassa fever (LF) in China. Laboratory detection and molecular epidemiological analysis of the Lassa virus (LASV) from this case offer valuable insights for the prevention and control of LF. METHODS: Samples of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), blood, urine, saliva, and environmental materials were collected from the patient and their close contacts for LASV nucleotide detection. Whole-genome sequencing was performed on positive samples to analyze the genetic characteristics of the virus. RESULTS: LASV was detected in the patient's CSF, blood, and urine, while all samples from close contacts and the environment tested negative. The virus belongs to the lineage IV strain and shares the highest homology with strains from Sierra Leone. The variability in the glycoprotein complex (GPC) among different strains ranged from 3.9% to 15.1%, higher than previously reported for the seven known lineages. Amino acid mutation analysis revealed multiple mutations within the GPC immunogenic epitopes, increasing strain diversity and potentially impacting immune response. CONCLUSION The case was confirmed through nucleotide detection, with no evidence of secondary transmission or viral spread. The LASV strain identified belongs to lineage IV, with broader GPC variability than previously reported. Mutations in the immune-related sites of GPC may affect immune responses, necessitating heightened vigilance regarding the virus.

Periodontitis is a common chronic inflammatory disease that causes the periodontal bone destruction and may ultimately result in tooth loss.With the progression of periodontitis,the osteoimmunology microenvironment in periodontitis is damaged and leads to the formation of pathological alveolar bone resorption.CD301b+macrophages are specific to the osteoimmunology microenvironment,and are emerging as vital booster for conducting bone regeneration.However,the key upstream targets of CD301b+macrophages and their potential mechanism in periodontitis remain elusive.In this study,we concentrated on the role of Tim4,a latent upstream regulator of CD301b+macrophages.We first demonstrated that the transcription level of Timd4(gene name of Tim4)in CD301b+macrophages was significantly upregulated compared to CD301b-macrophages via high-throughput RNA sequencing.Moreover,several Tim4-related functions such as apoptotic cell clearance,phagocytosis and engulfment were positively regulated by CD301b+macrophages.The single-cell RNA sequencing analysis subsequently discovered that Cd301b and Timd4 were specifically co-expressed in macrophages.The following flow cytometric analysis indicated that Tim4 positive expression rates in total macrophages shared highly synchronized dynamic changes with the proportions of CD301b+macrophages as periodontitis progressed.Furthermore,the deficiency of Tim4 in mice decreased CD301b+macrophages and eventually magnified alveolar bone resorption in periodontitis.Additionally,Tim4 controlled the p38 MAPK signaling pathway to ultimately mediate CD301b+macrophages phenotype.In a word,Tim4 might regulate CD301b+macrophages through p38 MAPK signaling pathway in periodontitis,which provided new insights into periodontitis immunoregulation as well as help to develop innovative therapeutic targets and treatment strategies for periodontitis.

Objective:To investigate the correlation between the stimulator of interferon genes(STING)promoter polymorphism and the susceptibility to infection after chemotherapy for multiple myeloma.Methods:A total of 102 patients who had undergone chemotherapy for multiple myeloma in our hospital from January 2016 to July 2022 were selected.Depending on the presence or absence of infection after chemotherapy,the enrolled patients were divided into infection group(53 cases)and non-infection group(49 cases).The infection sites and distribution characteristics of pathogenic bacteria of the infection group were analyzed.The genotype distribution of STING gene promoter rs587777609 was compared between the two groups,and the risk factors of infection after chemotherapy for multiple myeloma were analyzed.Results:For infection site,digestive system,respiratory system,urinary system,skin and mucous membranes accounted for 43.40％,26.42％,20.75％,and 9.43％,respectively.For pathogenic bacteria,Gram-negative bacteria,Gram-positive bacteria and fungi accounted for 57.14％,26.98％,and 15.87％,respectively.The CC genotype frequency of STING gene rs587777609 locus in the infection group was lower than that in the non-infection group,while the TT genotype frequency was higher than that in the non-infection group(P＜0.05).The proportions of patients with diabetes,chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,renal insufficiency,serum albumin level＜35 g/L,ISS stage Ⅲ,mechanical ventilation,and indwelling catheter in the infection group were higher than those in the non-infection group(P＜0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that diabetes(OR=1.992),serum albumin level＜35 g/L(OR=2.782),ISS stage Ⅲ(OR=2.707),mechanical ventilation(OR=3.031),and TT genotype(OR=2.401)were risk factors of infection after chemotherapy for multiple myeloma(P＜0.05).Conclusion:There is a correlation between STING promoter polymorphism and the susceptibility to infection after chemotherapy for multiple myeloma,and patients with TT genotype have a higher risk of infection.

"Active health" has been emphasized in "Healthy China 2030" in dealing with the challenges of population aging, so the anti-aging strategies are requires to be more precise and effective at both individual and population levels. Aging is influenced by both genetic and environmental factors. In the recent 20 years, the research of genetics of human ageing has been greatly facilitated owning to the development of high-throughput sequencing techniques, statistical methodology for multi-omics data, as well as the growing qualified evidence of large-scale population-based genomic research. This paper provides a review of genome-wide association research of aging.
