ObjectiveTo understand the mental health literacy levels and influencing factors among middle school students in Minhang District, Shanghai, and to provide a basis for formulating mental health promotion strategies. MethodsA multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method was adopted. From September to October 2023, middle school students (including junior and senior high school) from 14 streets, towns, and industrial zones in Minhang District, Shanghai, were recruited to participate in a questionnaire survey. The survey collected demographic information and employed the Adolescent Mental Health Literacy Assessment Scale. This scale comprises four dimensions (knowledge, recognition ability, attitude, and behavior) with a total of 22 items, using a Likert 5-point scale (1‒5 points), giving a maximum total score of 110 points. Reverse-scored items were inverted, and the sum of all item scores constituted the total scale score, with higher scores indicating better mental health literacy. A total score of ≥88 points was defined as having adequate mental health literacy. Multiple linear regression was used to analyze the factors influencing mental health literacy. ResultsThe average mental health literacy score of the 3 963 middle school students in Minhang District of Shanghai City was (85.42±11.27) points, with 45.22% of students having adequate mental health literacy. Univariate analyses showed that female students, junior high school students, and those without stressful events or physical illnesses in the past three months had higher total scores of mental health literacy. Statistically significant differences in total scores were also observed among students with different family economic statuses, parental education levels, frequency of physical exercise, parental relationships, father‑child relationships, and mother‑child relationships (all P<0.05). Multiple linear regression analyses showed that middle school students who were female, had better family economic conditions, higher maternal education levels (university degree or above), and harmonious mother-child relationships had higher mental health literacy scores. In contrast, high school students and those middle school students who participated in less physical activity had lower mental health literacy scores. Multivariate logistic regression analyses indicated that students who were female (OR=1.336, 95%CI: 1.174‒1.520), had superior family economic status (OR=2.000, 95%CI: 1.101‒3.725), had mothers with a university education level (OR=1.501, 95%CI: 1.217‒1.856), had lost one parent (OR=2.189, 95%CI: 1.176~4.158), or reported harmonious mother‑child relationships (OR=2.052, 95%CI: 1.432‒2.987) were more likely to meet the criteria for mental health literacy, whereas those who rarely engaged in physical exercise (OR=0.502, 95%CI: 0.358‒0.694) were less likely to have adequate mental health literacy. Stratified analyses showed that mental health literacy levels among junior high school students were positively correlated with being female, having a mother with a university education level, and having a mother‑child relationship that was average or harmonious and having a harmonious father‑child relationship, and negatively correlated with occasional or rare participation in physical exercise. Among senior high school students, mental health literacy levels were positively correlated with being female, having good or superior family economic status, having a mother with a university education level or above, and having a harmonious mother‑child relationship. ConclusionThe rate of adequate mental health literacy among middle school students in Minhang District, Shanghai, was approximately 45.22%. Gender, grade level, family economic status, maternal education level, physical activity participation, and mother-child relationship are independent factors associated with the level of mental health literacy among middle school students. Mother-child relationship and physical activity are potential intervention entry points. It is recommended to implement targeted health promotion initiatives focusing on key groups, such as high school boys, students from economically disadvantaged families, and those with insufficient physical activity.

Objective To analyze the changes in optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) parameters in patients with essential hypertension，and to explore the effect of blood pressure on OCTA parameters. Methods A total of 164 patients with essential hypertension were selected and divided into controlled blood pressure group (n=92) and uncontrolled blood pressure group (n=72). OCTA examination was performed on the optic disc and macula of all patients, and the right eyes were selected for analysis. Results There were no significant differences in retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness, radial peripapillary capillary (RPC) total vascular density, RPC total small vessel density, perifovea superficial capillary plexus (SCP) vascular density, and perifovea deep capillary plexus (DCP) vascular density between the two groups of patients. There were no significant differences in foveal avascular zone (FAZ) area, FAZ diameter, and fovea retinal thickness between the two groups of patients. The density of the parafovea SCP, parafovea DCP, and fractal dimension (FD) in the uncontrolled blood pressure group were significantly lower than those in the controlled blood pressure group (P＜0.05). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that elevation of blood pressure was a independently related factor of reduced parafovea DCP density (P＝0.026), while there was no correlation between the uncontrolled blood pressure and parafovea SCP density and FD level. Conclusions The blood pressure level is correlated with the parafovea DCP density, while has no correlation with other OCTA parameters in hypertension patients.

Increasing evidence shows that the early lesions of Parkinson's disease (PD) originate from gut, and correction of microbiota dysbiosis is a promising therapy for PD. FLZ is a neuroprotective agent on PD, which has been validated capable of alleviating microbiota dysbiosis in PD mice. However, the detailed mechanisms still need elucidated. Through metabolomics and 16S rRNA analysis, we identified glycoursodeoxycholic acid (GUDCA) was the most affected differential microbial metabolite by FLZ treatment, which was specially and negatively regulated by Clostridium innocuum, a differential microbiota with the strongest correlation to GUDCA production, through inhibiting bile salt hydrolase (BSH) enzyme. The protection of GUDCA on colon and brain were also clarified in PD models, showing that it could activate Nrf2 pathway, further validating that FLZ protected dopaminergic neurons through promoting GUDCA production. Our study uncovered that FLZ improved PD through microbiota-gut-brain axis, and also gave insights into modulation of microbial metabolites may serve as an important strategy for treating PD.

Although enteric glial cell (EGC) abnormal activation is reported to be involved in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease (PD), and inhibition of EGC gliosis alleviated gut and dopaminergic neuronal dysfunction was verified in our previous study, the potential role of gut microbiota on EGC function in PD still need to be addressed. In the present study, fecal microbiota transplantation revealed that EGC function was regulated by gut microbiota. By employing 16S rRNA and metabolomic analysis, we identified that 3-indolepropionic acid (IPA) was the most affected differential microbial metabolite that regulated EGC gliosis. The protective effects of IPA on PD were validated in rotenone-stimulated EGCs and rotenone (30 mg/kg i.g. for 4 weeks)-induced PD mice, as indicated by decreased inflammation, improved intestinal and brain barrier as well as dopaminergic neuronal function. Mechanistic study showed that IPA targeted pregnane X receptor (PXR) in EGCs, and inhibition of IL-13Rα1 involved cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction pathway, leading to inactivation of downstream JAK1-STAT6 pathway. Our data not only provided evidence that EGC gliosis was critical in spreading intestinal damage to brain, but also highlighted the potential role of microbial metabolite IPA in alleviating PD pathological damages through gut-brain axis.

BackgroundSevere mental disorders are characterized by high recurrence rate， high disability rate， high rates of harmful incidents， and low treatment-seeking rate， with affected patients demonstrating increased frequencies of dangerous behaviors. Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region has implemented community management for patients with severe mental disorders across the region since 2004， while the current status and regional characteristics of the managed patients remain unclear. ObjectiveTo analyze the current status of management and treatment of patients with severe mental disorders in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region， and to explore their regional distribution characteristics， so as to provide references for optimizing regional prevention and control strategies. MethodsPatients with severe mental disorders diagnosed and registered in the Severe Mental Disorder Management Information Platform of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region from August 1， 2011 to December 31， 2021 were selected. Patients' basic information， management indicators， and treatment metrics were extracted from the platform， followed by descriptive statistical analysis of the corresponding data. ResultsAs of December 31， 2021， the permanent resident population of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region was 6 946 540， with 29 787 registered patients with severe mental disorders. The majority of the patients were female （50.25%）， aged 18-59 years （79.01%）， with educational level of junior high school or below （84.63%）， married （52.87%）， farmers （56.01%）， and diagnosed with schizophrenia （55.91%）， while ethnic minority patients accounted for a relatively high proportion （31.35%）. In 2021， the reported prevalence rate of severe mental disorders in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region was 0.43%， with standardized management and regular medication adherence rates at 90.39% and 66.34%， respectively. The standardized management rate in 8 counties/districts （36.36%） was lower than the average level of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region， while 10 counties/districts （45.45%） showed below-average medication adherence rates， of which 6 counties/districts（60.00%） were located in the south-central region. ConclusionPatients with severe mental disorders in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region are predominantly young and middle-aged adults with low level of education， and those in the central-southern region demonstrate lower medication adherence. ［Funded by Key Research and Development Program Project of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region （number， 2023BEG02029）］

Objective To investigate the effects of soluble receptor for advanced glycation end products(sRAGE)on the changes and functions of myocardial tissue proteins in mice during myocardial ischemia/reperfusion(I/R).Methods Establish the myocardial I/R model using cardiac-specific sRAGE transgenic mice,and apply proteomic methods to detect the types and levels of protein expression in myocardial tissue.Results Compared with the I/R+sRAGE KIfl/fl group,the I/R+sRAGE CKI group had 59 upregulated proteins and 42 downregulated proteins in myocardial tissue.The volcano plot showed that the significantly upregulated proteins were lghg1,lgh2b,Mcm7,and Nifk,and the significantly downregulated proteins were Abca7,Colla2,Ablim1,Crebrf,and Kcp,respectively.The subcellular localization results showed that the proteins with significant changes were mainly distributed in the nucleus,cytoplasm,extracellular space,plasma membrane,endoplasmic reticulum,cytoskeleton,and others.The results of functional enrichment showed that the significantly changed proteins were mainly involved in regulating signal transduction,cell motility,metabolism,infectious diseases,tumors and the immune system.Conclusion sRAGE can inhibit myocardial I/R injury by increasing or decreasing target proteins involved in regulating intracellular and extracellular signal transduction processes following myocardial I/R.

Objective:To analyze the predictive effects of the Big Five personality traits and emotions on self-management behaviors in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).Methods:This study was a cross-sectional research. From 2016 to 2020, community interventions for self-management among patients with chronic diseases were conducted in Hangzhou, targeting patients with type 2 diabetes recruited from 69 community health service centers across the city. The data for this study were derived from the baseline information collected during the community intervention. The Chinese Big Five Personality Inventory (CBF-PI-15), the Type 2 Diabetes Self-Management Scale (2-DSCS), the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), and the Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) were employed for questionnaire assessments. Biochemical indicators, including postprandial 2-hour blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin (HbA 1c), total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), were measured. Spearman correlation analysis was used to examine the relationship between personality traits, relevant biochemical indicators, and self-management behaviors. Hierarchical regression analysis was employed to assess the predictive effects of the Big Five personality traits and emotions on self-management behaviors after controlling for demographic characteristics and factors related to health status. Results:A total of 839 patients were included in this study, comprising 518 females (61.75%) and 321 males (38.25%), with an average age of (66.92±8.67) years and an average disease duration of (8.87±6.91) years. There were significant differences in self-management behavior scores among patients with varying disease durations, educational levels, treatment methods, and levels of anxiety and depression ( t/F=6.172, 3.340, 4.699, 16.007, 27.127, all P<0.05). Neuroticism showed a negative correlation with various dimensions of self-management behaviors ( r=-0.130--0.073), while conscientiousness and agreeableness were positively correlated with various dimensions of self-management behaviors ( r=0.072-0.215). Dietary control score was negatively correlated with HbA 1c and LDL-C ( r=-0.106, -0.077), and regular exercise score was negatively correlated with postprandial 2-hour blood glucose, HbA 1c, TG, TC, HDL-C, and LDL-C ( r=-0.115--0.071). The total score of the 2-DSCS was negatively correlated with HbA 1c, TG, and TC ( r=-0.104--0.071). Patients with a disease duration exceeding 15 years and those receiving insulin injections or a combination of oral medication and insulin injections had higher total 2-DSCS score ( β=0.085, 0.146, 0.118, all P<0.05). Conversely, patients with higher HbA 1c and SDS standard scores had lower total 2-DSCS score ( β=-0.151, -0.328, both P<0.05), while those with higher agreeableness scores had higher total 2-DSCS score ( β=0.143, P<0.05). Conclusion:The traits of neuroticism, conscientiousness, and agreeableness within the Big Five Personality Traits, as well as anxiety and depressive emotions, are correlated with self-management behaviors. Specifically, agreeableness has a positive predictive effect on self-management behaviors, whereas depressive emotions have a negative predictive effect.

This study was a single-center retrospective study, to investigate the correlation between the relative level of miR-200a in exfoliated cells of peritoneal dialysis (PD) effluent and clinical indicators of peritoneal function in PD patients. Clinical data of PD patients who underwent treatment in the Department of Nephrology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University, from January 2024 to December 2024 were collected, and the relative level of miR-200a in exfoliated cells of PD effluent was assessed. Patients were divided into three groups according to dialysis duration (Group A:≤1 year; Group B:>1 to <5 years; Group C:≥5 years), and differences in clinical data among the groups were compared. The correlation between the relative level of miR-200a and serum albumin, serum calcium, serum phosphorus, serum creatinine, hemoglobin, the neutrophil/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio, the monocyte/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio, the lymphocyte/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio, and 24-hour urine volume in PD patients was analyzed. The results showed that there were no statistically significant differences among the three groups in gender, age, creatinine clearance rate, or Kt/V (all P>0.05). However, statistically significant differences were found among the three groups in peritoneal transport type ( χ2=13.518, P=0.001) and ultrafiltration volume ( H=6.905, P=0.032). Based on the 4-hour PD effluent creatinine/blood creatinine in the peritoneal equilibration test, patients were divided into the low transporter/low average transporter group (L group) and the high transporter/high average transporter group (H group). A statistically significant difference in the relative level of miR-200a was observed between the two groups [11.70 (1.09, 20.49) vs. 0.73 (0.46, 1.98), t=4.545, P<0.001]. The relative level of miR-200a was positively correlated with ultrafiltration volume and 24-hour urine output ( r=0.328, P=0.030; r=0.516, P<0.001), and negatively correlated with dialysis vintage ( r=-0.496, P<0.001). These results indicate that miR-200a level in PD effluent may, to some extent, reflect patients' peritoneal membrane function.

Objective To conduct a scoping review of research on the relationship between 24-hour movement behaviours and cognitive function in the elderly,so as to provide references for future research.Methods Totally 8 Chinese and English databases were systematically searched.The search period spanned from the establishment of databases until November 30,2024.According to the scoping review framework,2 researchers independently screened the studies,extracted the data of the included studies,and collaborated on the final analysis.Results A total of 12 papers were included,and the distribution of 24-hour movement behaviors in the elderly was as follows:3.0-5.4 h/d for light physical activity,0.6-1.5 h/d for moderate vigorous physical activity,8.9-12.3 h/d for sedentary behaviour and 6.7-8.4 h/d for sleep.Measures included objective,subjective and subject-objective measures.There are complex interactions among physical activity,sedentary behavior,sleep and cognitive function,which jointly affect cognitive function in the elderly.Conclusion Despite current differences in the measurement of 24-hour movement behaviours,the decreased physical activity,the increased sedentary time,and insufficient or excessive sleep are common problems among the elderly.By increasing physical activity,reducing sedentary behavior and ensuring adequate sleep,the overall cognitive function,executive function of the elderly can be improved.In the future,we should pay attention to the time allocation of 24-hour movement behaviours of the elderly,develop accurate and standardized measurement methods,and promote research in this field.
