OBJECTIVE:
To assess the efficacy of bone anchorage and maxillary facemask protraction devices in treating skeletal class Ⅲ malocclusion in adolescents.
METHODS:
Articles relating to the use of bone anchorage and maxillary facemask protraction devices for treating skeletal class Ⅲ malocclusion in adolescents were searched from the databases of Cochrane Library, PubMed, EmBase, CNKI, and Wanfang database. Several inclusion and exclusion criteria were developed for the article screening. The clinical data were extracted, and the quality of the selected articles was evaluated. A Meta-analysis of SNA, SNB, ANB, ANS-Me, Wits, and U1-PP change was performed by using RevMan 5.3.
RESULTS:
Seven studies (264 patients) were included in the Meta-analysis. Among these studies, three were randomized controlled trials, and four were non-randomized controlled trials. Compared with the maxillary facemask protraction device group, the bone ancho-rage device group had higher SNA changes and lower ANS-Me, Wits, and U1-PP changes (P<0.05). No significant differences were observed in the SNB and ANB changes between these two groups.
CONCLUSIONS
Compared with the maxillary facemask protraction device, the bone anchorage device can increase the extent of protraction of the maxilla and has better controls for the labial inclination of the maxillary anterior teeth in treating skeletal class Ⅲ malocclusion among adolescents. However, additional high-quality randomized controlled trials must be performed to verify the results.

Journal of Experimental Hematology 2020;28(1):333-338
Abstract In recent years, development of the targeted drugs according to the biological characteristics of tumors have provided more treatment options for tumor patients. It was found that the overactivation or abnormality of B cell receptor (BCR) signal pathway closely related to the occurrence and development of various B cell tumors, such as chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and mantle cell lymphoma (MCL). As a key kinase in the BCR pathway, BTK inhibitors have obvious anti-tumor effect when its activity is being inhibitered. Currently, BTK inhibitors developed include the first-generation Ibrutinib and the second-generation Acalabrutinib, which can be targeted at the inhibition of BTK and its downstream signaling pathway, and have important therapeutic value for a variety of B-cell tumors, such as CLL and partial non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL). However, its side effects and drug-resistance also gradually emerged, effective drug combination therapy has shown a certain clinical activity. This reviews summarizes briefly the mechanism and status of BTK inhibitors in the treatment of various B-cell tumors.

OBJECTIVE:
To compare the clinical effect on intestinal dysfunction of spinal cord injury (SCI) between the comprehensive therapy of moxibustion (moxibustion for opening the governor vessel and regulating the spirit) and rehabilitation training and the simple treatment with rehabilitation training.
METHODS:
A total of 60 patients with intestinal dysfunction of SCI were randomized into a comprehensive therapy group and a rehabilitation group, 30 cases in each one (3 cases were dropped out in each group). On the base of the routine western medicine treatment and rehabilitation training, the bowel training and rectal function training were provided, once a day in the rehabilitation group. In the comprehensive therapy group, on the base of the treatment as the rehabilitation group, the moxibustion was exerted at Yaoyangguan (GV 3), Mingmen (GV 4), Zhiyang (GV 9), Dazhui (GV 14) and Baihui (GV 20), etc, once a day, 30 min each time. In both groups, the treatment for 4 weeks was as one course and 3 courses of treatment were required. Separately, before treatment, after 4, 8 and 12 weeks of treatment, the scores of neurogenic bowel dysfunction (NBD) and World Health Organization quality of life scale (WHOQOL-BREF) were observed and the clinical effect was evaluated after 12 weeks of treatment.
RESULTS:
After treatment, the total effective rate was 88.9% (24/27) in the comprehensive therapy group, which was higher than 74.1% (20/27) in the rehabilitation group (<0.05). After 4, 8 and 12 weeks of treatment, NBD scores were all reduced obviously as compared with those before treatment in the two groups (all <0.01). After 8 and 12 weeks of treatment, NBD scores in the comprehensive therapy group were lower than the rehabilitation group (both <0.05). After 4, 8 and 12 weeks of treatment, the scores of all of the domains (psychology, physiology, social relations and environment) in WHOQOL-BREF were higher than those before treatment in the two groups (all <0.01). After 4 weeks of treatment, the scores in the psychology and physiology domains in the comprehensive therapy group were higher than the rehabilitation group (all <0.05). After 8 and 12 weeks of treatment, the scores of all of the domains in the comprehensive therapy group were higher than the rehabilitation group (all <0.05).
CONCLUSION
The comprehensive treatment of moxibustion and rehabilitation training achieves the better effect on intestinal dysfunction of SCI than the simple rehabilitation training and greatly improves the quality of life in SCI patients.

Acta Academiae Medicinae Sinicae 2020;42(1):30-36
To investigate the protective effect of salvianolic acid B(SAB)on the intestinal tract of rats after intestinal ischemia-reperfusion injury(IIRI). Forty-eight healthy male SD rats were equally randomized into IIRI group,SAB+IIRI group, sham control group, and SAB+sham control group. The malonyldialdehyde(MDA)level and superoxide dismutase(SOD)activity in the ileum were measured in each group according to the kit instructions, the transcription levels of inflammatory factors in the ileum of rats were detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative RT-PCR,the secretion level of inflammatory factors was detected by ELISA,and the effects of intestinal ischemia-reperfusion on intestinal permeability and histological lesions were measured by histopathology. The MDA level in IIRI group was significantly higher than those in negative control group(=0.005)and SAB+IIRI group(=0.012). SOD activity of IIRI group was significantly lower than those of negative control group(=0.006)and SAB+IIRI group(=0.017). The optical densities of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)(=0.003,=0.009),interleukin(IL)-1β(=0.026,=0.005),IL-6(=0.015,=0.003),and nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB)(=0.007,=0.015)in IIRI group were significantly higher than those in sham control group and SAB+IIRI group. The TNF-α(=0.002,=0.006),IL-1β(=0.002,=0.006),IL-6(=0.008,=0.002),and NF-κB(=0.026,=0.005)levels in IIRI group were significantly higher than those in sham control group and SAB+IIRI group. The inulin level in IIRI group was significantly lower than that in negative control group(=0.015)and significantly higher than that in SAB+IIRI group(=0.011). The dextran level in IIRI group was significantly lower than those in sham control group(=0.011)and SAB+IIRI group(=0.012). The dextran gel level in IIRI group was significantly higher than those in sham control group(=0.031)and SAB+IIRI group(=0.020). SAB pretreatment remarkably improved the edema, necrosis, and villus stripping of the intestinal mucosa in the ileum of rats. The Chiu score was significantly higher in SAB+sham control group than in sham control group(=0.001)and was significantly lower in SAB+IIRI group than in IIRI group(=0.001). SAB pretreatment can alleviate IIRI in rat models, and this protective effect may be achieved by alleviating oxidative stress and inflammation in the intestinal tract.
