Objective:To investigate the effect of donor blood lipid levels and the degree of fat deposition on the pancreatic surface on the outcome of islet isolation.Method:A retrospective analysis was conducted on 171 cases of islet isolation data from organ donors between May 2015 and December 2024. According to the percentage of fat deposition area on the surface of the pancreatic capsule after trimming, the samples were divided into three groups: mild surface fat group (<30%, 60 cases) , moderate surface fat group (30%–70%, 55 cases) , and severe surface fat group (>70%, 56 cases). The modified Ricordi method was used to digest pancreatic tissue, and islets were purified by continuous density gradient centrifugation. The digestion efficiency, digestion time, islet yield (islet equivalent/quantity) , purity, score, and size were analyzed and compared among groups. One-way ANOVA was used for inter-group comparisons, and Pearson correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were used to explore the relationship between blood lipid levels and islet isolation parameters.Result:The severe surface fat group had significantly higher pre-purification and post-purification islet equivalents, islet number, amount of digested pancreatic tissue, donor triglyceride levels, and low density lipoprotein (LDL) levels than the other groups (all P<0. 05) . Correlation analysis showed that LDL level was positively correlated with pre-purification islet equivalents (62 cases, r=0. 298, P=0. 019) and islet number (58 cases, r=0. 285, P=0. 030) . Donor high density lipoprotein (HDL) level was negatively correlated with post-purification islet equivalents (54 cases, r= – 0. 282, P=0. 039) ; donor triglyceride level was positively correlated with the amount of digested tissue (56 cases, r=0. 268, P=0. 046) and negatively correlated with purity (51 cases, r= - 0. 297, P=0. 035) ; donor very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) level was positively correlated with the amount of digested tissue (67 cases, r=0. 337, P=0. 005) and negatively correlated with purity (61 cases, r=- 0. 348 , P=0. 006) ; donor total cholesterol level was negatively correlated with pancreatic digestion efficiency (34 cases, r= - 0. 370, P=0. 032) , and the above differences were all statistically significant. Conclusion:Pancreata with heavier surface fat deposition can yield a higher number of islets. Meanwhile, donor blood lipid levels are correlated with islet isolation outcomes and can serve as important indicators for donor pancreas selection.

Objective:To investigate the feasibility, effectiveness and safety of indocyanine green (ICG) navigation in the surgical resection of abdominal wall endometriosis (AWE).Methods:Seven women undergoing surgery for AWE in First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University (from July 1, 2021 to October 1, 2021) were collected. After exposure of the focus, ICG were used intravenously (0.25 mg/kg) as fluorescent dye for the intraoperative evaluation of AWE vascularization. Resection of the AWE was guided by direct visualization of the focus under standard laparoscopy with a near-infrared (NIR) camera head. Surgical margin around the AWE (3, 6, 9 and 12 point) and the margin under the focus were obtained for postoperative pathological examination of endometriosis. Time from injection to fluorescence visualization, the proportion of fluorescence visualization, time of fully resection of AWE, side effects related to the use of ICG, perioperative complications as well as the pathological result of the surgical margins were recorded.Results:ICG fluorescence of the AWE were seen in 5 patients (5/7). The mean time from injection to fluorescence visualization was (46.7±9.8) s. The mean time of fully resection of AWE was (16.4±7.0) minutes. There were no side effects related to the use of ICG. The rate of class-A wound healing was 7/7. All of the surgical margins were confirmed endometriosis-negative by postoperative pathological examination.Conclusion:ICG fluorescence visualization could conduct accurate resection of AWE, which is clinically safe and effective.

Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of AIDS intervention programs on men aged 50 or over and having had non-marital sexual behavior. Methods: A community-based intervention/experimental and based on individual level study was adopted. Stratified sampling method was used. 12 townships/streets in Fuyang district of Hangzhou were identified as intervention or control group (six research sites each). All of the subjects in the township (street) were included. The inclusion criteria of study objects would include men aged 50 or older who reported having unmarried sex in the last year. Estimated sample size was 290, with each 145 in the intervention group and the control group. All the intervention group participants were provided with a total of 4 intervention-related items (knowledge and education on AIDS prevention, information radiation and behavioral change, broadcast expert lectures), every 3 months, for 12 month, the main evaluation indicators would include: incidence of non-marital sex and commercial sex in the last year, condom use when having non-marital sex in the last episode. Results: A total of 312 subjects were recruited. 300 of them completed the baseline study while 284 of them completed the follow-up survey. Among the subjects who had undergone the baseline study, the average age was (65.58±7.89), 71.33% were married or cohabiting with someone, 52.00% having had primary school education. After the implementation of intervention programs, the incidence of non-marital sex dropped to 59.42% (82/138) and the incidence of commercial sex dropped from 79.73% (118/148) to 55.07% (76/138). Condom use rate in the last non-marital sexual contact increased from 19.59% (29/148) to 51.22% (42/82). In the control group, the incidence of non-marital sex in the year before dropped to 74.66% (109/146) and the incidence of commercial sex dropped from 91.45% (139/152) to 72.60% (106/146). Rates of condom use during the last non-marital sexual contact dropped from 32.89% (50/152) to 31.19% (34/109). Statistically, there were significant differences appeared between the two groups on the incidence of non-marital sex in the past year (χ²=7.48, P=0.008), the incidence of commercial sex in the last year (χ²=9.47, P=0.003) and the rate of condom use in the last sex experience (χ²=7.83, P=0.007). Conclusions Results from this intervention study showed that: in the intervention group, both the incidence rates of non-marital or commercial sex had reduced, together with the increase of condom use in non-marital sex in the last sexual experience. Intervention strategies that involving knowledge and education on AIDS prevention, information radiation and behavioral change, broadcasting lectures by experts etc. were all proved effective.

Objective To explore the reliability and validity of Chinese version of impact on participation and autonomy questionnaire used in discharged patients with spinal cord injury. Methods 262 cases of discharged patients after spinal cord injury were assessed by using Chinese version impact on participation and autonomy questionnaire, and detect the reliability and validity of Chinese version of impact on participation and autonomy questionnaire. Results Cronbachαcoefficient for the remaining 25 items of Chinese version of impact on participation and autonomy questionnaire was 0.942, for the 4 dimensions of Cronbachαcoefficient ranged between 0.678～0.911;Split-half reliability was 0.864 for the remaining 25 items of Chinese version of impact on participation and autonomy questionnaire and 0.688～0.754 for the 4 dimensions. Analysis of content validity of the Chinese version of impact on participation and autonomy questionnaire indicated that CVI was 0.956, exploratory factor analysis of Chinese version of impact on participation and autonomy questionnaire yielded 4 factors, which explained 70.09％of the total variance. Conclusions The Chinese version of impact on participation and autonomy questionnaire is a valid and reliable instrument to assess participation and autonomy level of discharged patients with spinal cord injury in Chinese culture background.

Objective To investigate the statistical methods used in nursing papers for bachelor's degree. Method We collected 160 nursing theses for bachelor's degree in 2016 in our college and analyze the statistical methods. Results A total of 80 papers used statistical methods consisting of statistical table, statistical inference, single factor analysis, variance analysis and statistical description. Among them, the statistical methods in 66 papers (82.5%) were misused. About 139 misuses of statistical tables was found in papers, and about 23 misuses of statistical inference in papers, taking up 45.4%. Conclusions The nursing undergraduates are familiar with the application of statistical methods, but the methods tend to be simple and unitary. Therefore, it is a need to enhance their practice in using statistical methods.

Objective To investigate the satisfaction of doctor-patient communication of community health service institutions in Heilongjiang Province and to put forward the proposals for constructing the harmonious doctor-patient relationship.Methods The questionnaire survey method was adopted.The staffs and patients or their family members in partial community health service institutions of Heilongjiang Province served as the research subjects.The survey was conducted by using the two kinds of doctor and patient survey questionnaires.Results The both sides having better evaluation on the current doctor-patient relationship accounted for the majority,which accounted for 44.9 ％ for doctors and 39.3 ％ for patients respectively.The satisfaction degree in the patient side for doctor clearly explaining the disease condition during the doctor-patient communication process,patiently listening and answering questions,providing and explaining many medical regimens and asking for patient's advice on expenses were 20.7 ％,38.9 ％,47.9 ％ and 61.50％ respectively.Conclusion It is suggested to adopt effective measures to improve the satisfaction of doctor-patient communication by aiming at different factors affecting the doctor-patients relationship,including patiently listening,guiding the patient to talk,explaining the provided medical scheme and medical expenses,strengthening the education of humanities and fostering communication skills and so forth.

Objective: To explore the association between DNA methylation and body mass index (BMI) using Mendelian randomization analysis. Methods: A total of 469 participants were selected from the Chinese National Twin Registry in 2013, who were living in Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Sichuan provinces, and at least 18 years of age. A questionnaire survey and physical examination were conducted to collect demographic, clinical, and behavioral information. Peripheral blood cells were collected to detect genotype and methylation status. Association analyses between DNA methylation and BMI and between CpGs and cis-SNP were conducted. With rs748212 as the instrumental variable, the association between cg15053022 and BMI was explored using the Mendelian randomization method. Results: A total of 469 participants were selected. The mean age of participants was (44.8±13.2) years and the BMI was (25.0±3.8) kg/m². Nine BMI-related DNA methylation sites were found and DNA methylation site cg15053022 in the ATP4A gene was negatively associated with cis-SNP rs748212 (β=-0.020); the mean methylation level of AA, AC, and CC were 0.212±0.025, 0.242±0.024, and 0.264±0.028, respectively. rs748212 was associated with BMI (β=0.04, P=0.007) and closely related to cg15053022 (F=237.66, P=0.143). Mendelian randomization analysis showed lower methylation levels at cg15053022 were associated with higher BMI (β=-1.97, P<0.001). Conclusion This study supported the impact of cg15053022 methylation in the ATP4A gene on BMI using Mendelian randomization analysis and provided the basis for using Mendelian randomization analysis in methylation studies.

Objective To understand the prevalence and cause of eye diseases in the middle and old aged population in community was of important significance for the prevention and treatment of relevant diseases.The present study attempts to survey the prevalence of common eye diseases and conditions of blindness and low vision in 50 years and older population in community of Beijing.MethodsThis was an ophthalmologic epidemiology survey.The 2 833 target population was included and registered in Western Chang'an street community in door-to-door and questionnaire manner between October,2006-October,2007.Multiple factors,such as demography,general conditions,lifestyles,education degree,economical status,medical status and the awareness of relevant ophthalmic knowledge of participants were recorded and evaluated.Relevant eye examinations including uncorrected visual acuity,pinhole visual acuity,non-contact intraocular pressure test,slit-lamp,funduscopy and optometry examinations were performed in Beijing No.2 Hospital by trained ophthalmologists.Blindness and low vision were evaluated based on WHO criteria.The causes of leading-blindness and low vision were analyzed.Oral informed consent was obtained from all of the subjects.Results2 410 individuals of 2 833≥50-year-old participants received complete surveys according to the designed process in this study with an examined rate of 85.07%.The incidence of blindness and low vision in examinees was 0.79% and 5.64% respectively.The positive factors related to blindness and low vision appeared to be age,education and an awareness of relevant ophthalmic knowledge (χ~2=26.62,18.28,21.32,P＜0.001).The primary causes of blindness in examined population,in order,were cataract,glaucoma and retinopathy,and those of low vision were cataracts,refractive error and diabetic retinopathy.ConclusionIt is emphasized that early prevention and treatment for cataract,glaucoma,diabetic retinopathy and refractive errors can reduce the prevalence of blindness and low vision in people over 50 years in the Western Chang'an street community of Beijing.
