Objective: To explore the distribution characteristics and influencing factors of adverse reactions in whole blood donation in Jinan, Shandong, so as to provide evidence for the prevention and control of such adverse reactions in this region. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on whole blood donors and adverse reaction cases in Jinan during 2023. To explore influencing factors of adverse reactions, univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to examine the relationships between adverse reactions and factors such as gender, age, donation organization mode, donation frequency, donation volume, time slot, and health examination results. Results: A total of 122 961 whole blood donations were recorded in Jinan in 2023. Donation-related adverse reactions occurred in 2 054 cases, with an incidence rate of 1.67%. Univariate analysis revealed significant differences in the incidence of adverse reactions across donor characteristics: the rate was higher in females (2.35%, 921/39 192) than in males (1.35%, 1 133/83 769), donors aged 18-25 years had the highest incidence (3.48%, 1 799/51 733), the incidence in group donations (3.13%, 1,737/55 534) was significantly higher than in individual donations (0.47%, 317/67 427), and insufficient blood collection was closely associated with adverse reactions (all P<0.001). Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified group donation, female gender, and a pulse rate of 81-99 beats per minute as risk factors for adverse reactions (all P<0.001), while systolic blood pressure of 116-139 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure of 76-89 mmHg were protective factors (all P<0.05). Compared to younger and lower-weight donor groups, older and higher-weight donors had a significantly lower risk of adverse reactions (all P<0.05). Donors giving 400 mL had a higher risk than those giving 200 mL (P<0.001). In addition, compared with the donation time slot of 7:00-8:59, the risk of adverse reactions was significantly higher during 9:00-16:59, with the time slot of 13:00-14:59 showing the most prominent risk (all P<0.05). However, no statistically significant difference was observed between the time slot of 17:00-20:59 and that of 7:00-8:59 (P>0.05). The primary clinical manifestation of adverse reactions was donation-related vasovagal reaction, with mental tension being the leading precipitating factor, accounting for 69.08% (1 419/2 054) of cases. Conclusion: The occurrence of adverse reactions in whole blood donation in the Jinan is influenced by multiple factors, including donor demographic characteristics, donation organization mode, physiological indicators, and time of donation. It is recommended to enhance the identification and intervention for high-risk groups, and optimize donation processes and service models to reduce the incidence of adverse reactions, thereby ensuring donor safety and blood quality.

Based on the traditional Chinese medicine （TCM）'s understanding of consumptive thirst disease and modern medicine's understanding of the etiology of diabetes mellitus and the evolution of the disease， this article discussed the rationality and clinical significance of using "sugar collateral disease" as the name of diabetes mellitus in TCM， to provide a reference for modernization and development of TCM diseases' names. It is argued that the clinical manifestations described in the TCM disease name of consumptive thirst disease are only at a certain stage of diabetes mellitus， and it is difficult to cover the clinical characteristics of modern diabetes mellitus comprehensively. In 2003， academician TONG Xiaolin proposed to use "sugar collateral disease" as the TCM disease name of diabetes mellitus， which on the one hand can reflect the essence of diabetes mellitus， and on the other hand can embody the disease location， disease mechanism and the evolution of the disease， highlight the harms of complications， and serve as a warning for the early diagnosis and treatment of the disease， which can help to enhance the level of diagnosis and treatment of diabetes mellitus in TCM.

Objective To explore the clinical efficacy and safety of Beimu Zhizhu Prescription(derived from the modification of Zhizhu Pills)in the treatment of GERC by retrospectively analyzing the clinical data of 297 patients with gastroesophageal reflux cough(GERC).Methods A retrospective cohort study was conducted in a total of 297 patients with GERC of rebellious stomach qi type who were admitted to the Outpatient Department of Wangjing Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences from July 2021 to July 2023.The patients were divided into an exposure group(136 cases)and a non-exposure group(161 cases)according to the medication of Beimu Zhizhu Prescription or not.The exposure group was treated with Beimu Zhizhu Decoction,and the non-exposure group was treated with proton pump inhibitor of Esomeprazole Magnesium Enteric-coated Tablets.A total of 119 pairs of cases were obtained after propensity score matching(PSM)at the ratio of 1 to 1.The changes of salivary pepsin level before and after treatment in the two groups were observed.After two weeks and eight weeks of treatment,the cough response rate and the remission rates for reflux-related symptoms of acid reflux,heartburn,belching and gastric distension were compared between the two groups,and the incidence of adverse reactions was recorded.Results(1)After two weeks of treatment,the comparison of symptom remission rate after PSM showed that the cough response rate and the remission rates for reflux-related symptoms of acid reflux,heartburn,belching and gastric distension in the exposure group were 84.87％(101/119),80.77％(84/104),82.61％(76/92),82.5％(66/80),84.42％(65/77),respectively,and those in the non-exposure group were 73.95％(88/119),72.90％(78/107),70.41％(69/98),65.38％(51/78),64.38％(47/73),respectively.The intergroup comparison showed that the remission rates for all of the symptoms except for acid reflux in the exposure group was significantly superior to that in the non-exposure group(P＜0.05 or P＜0.01).After eight weeks of treatment,the cough response rate and the remission rates for reflux-related symptoms of acid reflux,heartburn,belching,and gastric distension in the exposure group were 94.74％(36/38),91.67％(33/36),91.43％(32/35),93.75％(30/32),94.12％(32/34),respectively,and those in the non-exposure group were 77.78％(35/45),74.42％(32/43),71.43％(30/42),68.42％(26/38),66.67％(24/36),respectively.The intergroup comparison showed that the remission rate of all of the symptoms in the exposure group was significantly superior to that in the non-exposure group(P＜0.05 or P＜0.01).(2)After two weeks of treatment,the comparison of salivary pepsin level after PSM showed that the salivary pepsin level of the exposure group was significantly lower than that before treatment(P＜0.01),while that of the non-exposure group was not significantly decreased(P＞0.05).The decrease of salivary pepsin level in the exposure group was significantly superior to that in the non-exposure group.Statistically significant differences were presented in the post-treatment salivary pepsin level after two weeks of treatment and in the pre-and post-treatment difference of salivary pepsin level between the two groups(P＜0.05 or P＜0.01).(3)There were four cases(2.48％)of adverse reactions in the non-exposure group,while no related adverse reactions occurred in the exposure group.There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(x2=1.180,P=0.178).Conclusion Beimu Zhizhu Decoction can effectively relieve cough and reflux-related symptoms of acid reflux,heartburn,belching,and gastric distension in patients with GERC of rebellious stomach qi type,reduce the level of salivary pepsin,and has high safety.

Objective To investigate the correlation between DNA methyltransferase 3a(DNMT3a)expression and prognosis of lung squamous cell carcinoma(LSCC),as well as to elucidate the potential molecular mechanisms of DNMT3a in LSCC progression.Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on a cohort of 47 LSCC patients who underwent surgery in the Department of Thoracic Surgery,the Second Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Medical University between May 2009 and January 2014.DNMT3a expression in LSCC tissues and paired adjacent non-cancerous tissues was assessed using immunohistochemical(IHC)staining.Patients were categorized into two groups based on the median IHC score of DNMT3a in LSCC tissues:high DNMT3a expression group(n=25)and low DNMT3a expression group(n=22).Prognostic correlation was analyzed in combination with clinicopathological data and public biological databases.To explore the molecular mechanisms of DNMT3a in LSCC progression,H1703 LSCC cell lines with overexpressed DNMT3a were established using a lentiviral infection method,with the creation of DNMT3a overexpression group and control group.Functional phenotype experiments were then conducted to test the differences in cell proliferation and migration between the two groups.DNMT3a overexpression tumor xenograft models were also established in nude mice,with the creation of DNMT3a overexpression group and control group(3 mice per group),to observe the growth of subcutaneous xenograft tumors.Western blotting analysis was employed to detect the expression of related proteins in the two groups of cells and subcutaneous xenograft tumors.Functional rescue experiments involved treating DNMT3a overexpression cells with c-Myc inhibitor(10058-F4)and assessing cell proliferation using EdU proliferation staining.Subsequently,DNMT3a overexpression cells were infected with RNAi-Zinc finger E-box binding homeobox 1(ZEB1)lentivirus to knock down ZEB1 expression,and a Transwell migration assay was utilized to detect cell migration.Finally,DNMT3a overexpression group and control group were treated with DNMT specific inhibitor(SGI-1027),and the effects of DNMT3a inhibition on cell proliferation and migration were observed in both overexpression and control groups.Results IHC analysis revealed significantly higher DNMT3a level in LSCC tissues compared to adjacent non-cancerous tissues(P<0.0001).High DNMT3a expression was closely associated with N stage,clinical stage and tumor differentiation degree(P<0.05 or P<0.01),and it was identified as an independent risk factor for poor prognosis in LSCC patients(P<0.05).Functional phenotype experiments indicated that DNMT3a overexpression group exhibited significantly higher colony formation number,proportion of EdU-positive cells,wound healing migration rate,and Transwell cell migration number compared with control group(P<0.05).The volume and weight of subcutaneous xenograft tumors in DNMT3a overexpression group were significantly higher than those in control group(P<0.001).Western blotting showed that the protein expression levels of c-Myc and ZEB1 in DNMT3a overexpression group were significantly higher than those in control group.Functional rescue experiments demonstrated a significant reduction in the proportion of EdU-positive cells after 10058-F4 treatment in DNMT3a overexpression group(P<0.05).Knockdown of ZEB1 led to a significant decrease in the number of Transwell cell migration in DNMT3a overexpression group(P<0.05),with no significant change in DNMT3a protein expression.Additionally,inhibition of DNMT3a with SGI-1027 resulted in a significant decrease in colony formation number and migration rate in both DNMT3a overexpression group and control group(P<0.05).Conclusions High expression of DNMT3a is a significant independent risk factor for poor prognosis of LSCC patients.DNMT3a is likely to promote the proliferation of LSCC by upregulating c-Myc expression and to enhance the migration of LSCC by increasing ZEB1 expression.

OBJECTIVES: To explore the application of whole-genome sequencing (WGS) in the rapid clinical diagnosis of critically ill neonates. METHODS: The critically ill neonates who admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit of Children's Hospital of Fudan University and underwent WGS from August to September, 2019 were enrolled in this prospective study. The genetic testing results and clinical outcome were analyzed with reference to the sequencing data and clinical features of the neonates. RESULTS: A total of 15 neonates were tested, among whom there were 9 boys and 6 girls. The main reason for hospitalization included abnormal breathing in 7 neonates, poor response in 2 neonates, feeding difficulty in 2 neonates, fever in 1 neonate, hypothermia in 1 neonate, preterm birth in 1 neonate, and convulsion in 1 neonate. The mean turn-around time was 4.5 days for WGS. Finally a genetic diagnosis was obtained for 3 neonates, with a positive diagnostic rate of 20% (3/15). Among the 3 neonates, 2 neonates were withdrawn from the treatment due to severe conditions and 1 neonate died on the day when the sample was sent for genetic testing, whose etiology could be explained by the results of genetic testing. CONCLUSIONS WGS technique can provide a timely and effective diagnosis for critically ill neonates suspected of genetic diseases and provide genetic evidence for clinical treatment of critically ill cases.

Objective: To evaluate the long-term efficacy and safety of the implantable ventricular assist system EVAHEART I in clinical use. Methods: Fifteen consecutive patients with end-stage heart failure who received left ventricular assist device therapy in Fuwai Hospital from January 2018 to December 2021 were enrolled in this study, their clinical data were retrospectively analyzed. Cardiac function, liver and kidney function, New York Heart Association (NYHA) classification, 6-minute walk distance and quality of life were evaluated before implantation and at 1, 6, 12, 24 and 36 months after device implantation. Drive cable infection, hemolysis, cerebrovascular events, mechanical failure, abnormally high-power consumption and abnormal pump flow were recorded during follow up. Results: All 15 patients were male, mean average age was (43.0±7.5) years, including 11 cases of dilated cardiomyopathy, 2 cases of ischemic cardiomyopathy, and 2 cases of valvular heart disease. All patients were hemodynamically stable on more than one intravenous vasoactive drugs, and 3 patients were supported by preoperative intra aortic balloon pump (IABP). Compared with before device implantation, left ventricular end-diastolic dimension (LVEDD) was significantly decreased ((80.93±6.69) mm vs. (63.73±6.31) mm, P<0.05), brain natriuretic peptide (BNP), total bilirubin and creatinine were also significantly decreased ((3 544.85±1 723.77) ng/L vs. (770.80±406.39) ng/L; (21.28±10.51) μmol/L vs. (17.39±7.68) μmol/L; (95.82±34.88) μmol/L vs. (77.32±43.81) μmol/L; P<0.05) at 1 week after device implantation. All patients in this group were in NYHA class Ⅳ before implantation, and 9 patients could recover to NYHA class Ⅲ, 3 to class Ⅱ, and 3 to class Ⅰ at 1 month after operation. All patients recovered to class Ⅰ-Ⅱ at 6 months after operation. The 6-minute walk distance, total quality of life and visual analogue scale were significantly increased and improved at 1 month after implantation compared with those before operation (P<0.05). All patients were implanted with EVAHEART I at speeds between 1 700-1 950 rpm, flow rates between 3.2-4.5 L/min, power consumption of 3-9 W. The 1-year, 2-year, and 3-year survival rates were 100%, 87%, and 80%, respectively. Three patients died of multiple organ failure at 412, 610, and 872 d after surgery, respectively. During long-term device carrying, 3 patients developed drive cable infection on 170, 220, and 475 d after surgery, respectively, and were cured by dressing change. One patient underwent heart transplantation at 155 d after surgery due to bacteremia. Three patients developed transient ischemic attack and 1 patient developed hemorrhagic stroke events, all cured without sequelae. Conclusion: EVAHEART I implantable left heart assist system can effectively treat critically ill patients with end-stage heart failure, can be carried for long-term life and significantly improve the survival rate, with clear clinical efficacy.

Objective: Compare and analyze the results of the domestic Lanyi AH600 glycated hemoglobin analyzer and other different detection systems to understand the comparability of the detection results of different detectors, and establish the best cut point of Lanyi AH600 determination of haemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) in the diagnosis of diabetes. Methods: Multi center cohort study was adopted. The clinical laboratory departments of 18 medical institutions independently collected test samples from their respective hospitals from March to April 2022, and independently completed comparative analysis of the evaluated instrument (Lanyi AH600) and the reference instrument HbA1c. The reference instruments include four different brands of glycosylated hemoglobin meters, including Arkray, Bio-Rad, DOSOH, and Huizhong. Scatter plot was used to calculate the correlation between the results of different detection systems, and the regression equation was calculated. The consistency analysis between the results of different detection systems was evaluated by Bland Altman method. Consistency judgment principles: (1) When the 95% limits of agreement (95% LoA) of the measurement difference was within 0.4% HbA1c and the measurement score was≥80 points, the comparison consistency was good; (2) When the measurement difference of 95% LoA exceeded 0.4% HbA1c, and the measurement score was≥80 points, the comparison consistency was relatively good; (3) The measurement score was less than 80 points, the comparison consistency was poor. The difference between the results of different detection systems was tested by paired sample T test or Wilcoxon paired sign rank sum test; The best cut-off point of diabetes was analyzed by receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC). Results: The correlation coefficient R² of results between Lanyi AH600 and the reference instrument in 16 hospitals is≥0.99; The Bland Altman consistency analysis showed that the difference of 95% LoA in Nanjing Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital in Jiangsu Province (reference instrument: Arkray HA8180) was -0.486%-0.325%, and the measurement score was 94.6 points (473/500); The difference of 95% LoA in the Tibetan Traditional Medical Hospital of TAR (reference instrument: Bio-Rad Variant II) was -0.727%-0.612%, and the measurement score was 89.8 points; The difference of 95% LoA in the People's Hospital of Chongqing Liang Jiang New Area (reference instrument: Huizhong MQ-2000PT) was -0.231%-0.461%, and the measurement score was 96.6 points; The difference of 95% LoA in the Taihe Hospital of traditional Chinese Medicine in Anhui Province (reference instrument: Huizhong MQ-2000PT) was -0.469%-0.479%, and the measurement score was 91.9 points. The other 14 hospitals, Lanyi AH600, were compared with 4 reference instrument brands, the difference of 95% LoA was less than 0.4% HbA1c, and the scores were all greater than 95 points. The results of paired sample T test or Wilcoxon paired sign rank sum test showed that there was no statistically significant difference between Lanyi AH600 and the reference instrument Arkray HA8180 (Z=1.665,P=0.096), with no statistical difference. The mean difference between the measured values of the two instruments was 0.004%. The comparison data of Lanyi AH600 and the reference instrument of all other institutions had significant differences (all P<0.001), however, it was necessary to consider whether it was within the clinical acceptable range in combination with the results of the Bland-Altman consistency analysis. The ROC curve of HbA1c detected by Lanyi AH600 in 985 patients with diabetes and 3 423 patients with non-diabetes was analyzed, the area under curve (AUC) was 0.877, the standard error was 0.007, and the 95% confidence interval 95%CI was (0.864, 0.891), which was statistically significant (P<0.001). The maximum value of Youden index was 0.634, and the corresponding HbA1c cut point was 6.235%. The sensitivity and specificity of diabetes diagnosis were 76.2% and 87.2%, respectively. Conclusion: Among the hospitals and instruments currently included in this study, among these four hospitals included Nanjing Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital in Jiangsu Province (reference instrument: Arkray HA8180), Tibetan Traditional Medical Hospital of TAR (reference instrument: Bio-Rad Variant Ⅱ), the People's Hospital of Chongqing Liang Jiang New Area (reference instrument: Huizhong MQ-2000PT), and the Taihe Hospital of traditional Chinese Medicine in Anhui Province (reference instrument: Huizhong MQ-2000PT), the comparison between Lanyi AH600 and the reference instruments showed relatively good consistency, while the other 14 hospitals involved four different brands of reference instruments: Arkray, Bio-Rad, DOSOH, and Huizhong, Lanyi AH600 had good consistency with its comparison. The best cut point of the domestic Lanyi AH600 for detecting HbA1c in the diagnosis of diabetes is 6.235%.

OBJECTIVE: To retrospectively analyze the laborotary test results and clinical data of 31 patients with mixed phenotype acute leukemia (MPAL) in order to summarize and discuss the biological characteristics, curative effect, and prognosis of each subtype of MPAL based on immunophenotype results. METHODS: MPAL patients diagnosed and treated in our hospital from July 2013 to January 2019 were selected to analyze the data of cell morphology, immunophenotyping, cytogenetics, molecular biology (MICM), and routine blood at initial diagnosis. Follow-up was carried out until the last discharge time. RESULTS: Among 31 patients, there were 19 males and 12 females, with a median age of 41(12-76) years old. According to the results of immunophenotyping and EGIL score, there were 16 cases of myeloid-T lymphoid mixed phenotype (myeloid-T group), 9 cases of myeloid-B lymphoid mixed phenotype (myeloid-B group), 5 cases of T-B lymphoid mixed phenotype (T-B group), and 1 case of myeloid-T-B lymphoid mixed phenotype. Compared between different subtypes, the antigen expression characteristics were the highest positive rate and expression rate of HLA-DR in myeloid-B group, and the positive rate of CD2 in T-B group was significantly higher than that in the myeloid-T group. Meanwhile, the expression rates of CD7 and cCD3 (cytoplasmic CD3) in T-B group were higher than those in myeloid-T group, and cCD79a was positive in all cases of myeloid-B group and T-B group. The median WBC of T-B group was 81.92×10⁹/L, which was significantly higher than that of the other two groups (P<0.05). The quantitative results of WT1 were higher than 10^-4 in 92.6% of the patients, and the WT1 expression level in myeloid-B group was significantly lower than the other two groups (P<0.01). Among the 9 patients with myeloid-B mixed phenotype, 5 cases showed BCR-ABL positive. Among 28 patients followed up, 21 cases achieved complete remission (CR), the median time to first obtain CR was 32.5(9-75) days, and the median follow-up time was 16 months (range from 21 days to 6 years). The CR rate and median overall survival (OS) time in myeloid-B group were 88.9% and 40 months, which were higher than the other two groups. The CR rate and 3-year OS rate in T-B group were relatively lower (50.0%, 0). CONCLUSION WT1 gene is highly expressed in patients with MPAL, and each subgroup of MPAL based on immuophenotype has its unique antigen expression characteristics. Compared with myeloid-T group and T-B group, myeloid-B group can acquire higher remission rate and have better prognosis.

Interaction exists in lung cancer and microbiota. Lung microecological homeostasis can improve the immune tolerance, enhance immune suppression, and inhibit inflammatory responses, to reduce the lung cancer; while lung cancer can lead to pulmonary microecological imbalance, change the lung environment, and promote tumor cell proliferation. Therefore, modulating microbial flora and microecological immunotherapy may be a potential and preventive treatment for lung cancer, to restore tumor immunosuppression and improve patient survival. However, the individual differences in the lung microecology, because of different genetics, ethnic characteristics, and dietary habits, increasing the difficulty of precise diagnosis and treatment, which is also the current bottleneck in the application of microecological immunotherapy. Otherwise, the effectiveness of regulatory measures such as probiotics, prebiotics or antimicrobials is questionable. The research on microbial flora is still in its infancy, and further exploration is needed to form a standardized, effective, and precise treatment plan. So, standardized, effective, and precise microbial flora treatment strategies need to be further explored.

Objective: To analyze the clinical characteristics, pathogenic bacteria, complications and risk factors of prognosis of acute hematogenous osteomyelitis in children. Methods: The clinical manifestations, laboratorg tests, etiological charateristics and clinical data of 107 patients with acute hematogenous osteomyelitis admitted to Beijing Children's Hospital from January 2017 to December 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. According to the drug sensitivity results of Staphylococcus aureus, the group was divided into methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) group; according to the presence or absence of complications, the group was divided into the group with and without complications; according to the prognosis of the follow-up children, the group was divided into good prognosis and poor prognosis. The χ² test or Mann-Whitney U test used for comparison between groups, and Logistic regression was used to analyze the risk factors for complications and prognosis. Results: Of the 107 patients, 62 were males and 45 were females. The age of presentation was 5.6 (1.7, 10.0) years, including 5 patients (4.7%) age from >28 days to 3 months, 46 patients (43.0%) age from >3 months to 5 years, 43 patients (40.2%)>5-12 years of age, and 13 patients (12.1%)>12-18 years of age. The first symptoms were acute fever in 35 patients (32.7%), limb pain in 24 patients (22.4%), and fever with limb pain in 23 patients (21.5%). Pathogen culture was positive in 75 patients (70.1%), Streptococcus pyogenes, Salmonella enterica and Escherichia coli in 1 case (1.4%) each, and Staphylococcus aureus in 72 cases (96.0%), among them, 47 cases were MSSA, 22 cases were MRSA, and 3 cases had positive reports of Staphylococcus aureus from other hospitals without drug-sensitive tests. The proportion of infected children living in rural areas and receiving surgical treatment was higher in the MRSA group than in the MSSA group (14 cases (63.6%) vs. 18 cases (38.3%) and 21 cases (95.5%) vs. 33 cases (70.2%), χ²=3.87, 4.23, both P<0.05). Sixty-five children had no complications while 42 children (39.3%) suffered from complications. Common complications consisted of 19 cases (17.8%) of sepsis, 17 cases (15.9%) of septic arthritis, and 12 cases (11.2%) of venous thrombosis. The group with complications showed higher mental changes, decreased appetite and (or) weakness, positive pathogenic cultures, and time from admission to surgery than the group without complications (18 cases (42.9%) vs. 9 cases (13.8%), 20 cases (47.6%) vs. 12 cases (18.5%), 34 cases (81.0%) vs. 41 cases (63.1%), 3.5 (2.0, 6.0) vs. 2.0 (1.0, 4.0) d,χ²=11.38, 10.35, 3.89, Z=2.21, all P<0.05). The poor prognosis group had more comorbidities, combined local complications, and positive aureus than the good prognosis group (10/15 vs. 34.9% (30/86), 7/15 vs. 17.4% (15/86), 14/15 vs. 61.6% (53/86), χ²=5.39, 6.40, 4.42, all P<0.05). Multifactorial Logistic regression analysis showed that acute phase C-reactive protein (CRP) was both an independent risk factor for complications (OR=1.01, 95%CI 1.01-1.02) and an independent risk factor for poor prognosis (OR=1.01, 95%CI 1.00-1.02). Conclusions: The first symptoms of acute hematogenous osteomyelitis are acute fever, limb pain, and fever with limb pain are most common. Staphylococcus aureus is the most common pathogenic organism. Those with loss of appetite and (or) weakness, mental changes, positive pathogenic cultures, and longer time between admission and surgery are prone to complications. Those with complications, combined local complications, and positive for Staphylococcus aureus had a poor prognosis. Elevated CRP is an independent risk factor not only for complications but for poor prognosis as well.
