Objective: To explore the association between daytime outdoor physical activity (OPA) and oral health indicators among primary school students, aiming to provide evidence for developing oral health intervention strategies based on natural exposure. Methods: In October 2023, based on the "Tianchang Children s Light Exposure and Growth Development Cohort", 799 second and third grades children were recruited from two primary schools in Tianchang, Chuzhou City, Anhui Province. Physical activity intensity and light exposure were objectively monitored for 24 hours over 5 consecutive days using triaxial accelerometers synchronized with portable illuminance meters. Standardized oral examinations were performed to record dental caries, gingivitis, and malocclusion. Demographics, lifestyle variables, and household socioeconomic data were collected via questionnaires. Multiple linear regression (for the number of carious teeth) and Logistic regression (for gingivitis risk) were used to analyze the relationship between daytime outdoor moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) and oral health outcomes. Results: The average daytime outdoor MVPA was (0.76±0.35)h, with (0.95±0.40)h on weekdays and (0.49±0.47)h on weekends. The detection rates for dental caries, gingivitis, and malocclusion were 31.0%, 4.6%, and 59.7%, respectively. Compared with children with good oral health, the duration of outdoor MVPA on school days was reduced in children with caries or gingivitis ( Z =-11.4, -5.01, both P <0.01). Multiple regression analysis showed that after adjusting for factors such as gender, age, body mass index, oral hygiene behaviors, an increase in daytime outdoor MVPA duration was associated with a decrease in the number of dental caries ( β=-0.64, 95%CI =-0.93 to -0.35) and a reduced risk of gingivitis ( OR= 0.58 , 95%CI =0.34-0.98) in primary school students (both P <0.05). The association was primarily observed on school days ( β=-0.72, 95%CI = -1.07 to -0.37; OR=0.42, 95%CI =0.21-0.85) (both P < 0.05). Conclusions Daytime outdoor MVPA on weekdays is significantly associated with a lower number of carious teeth and a reduced risk of gingivitis in primary school students. Increasing daytime outdoor activities on weekdays may serve as a promising and potential strategy for promoting children s oral health.

Objective: To investigate the prevalence of human T-lymphotropic virus (HTLV) infection among blood donors in Hunan Province from 2022 to 2024. Methods: A total of 1 830 342 blood donors from 14 prefecture-level blood centers in Hunan Province over the past three years were screened for anti-HTLV-Ⅰ/Ⅱ using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Initially reactive samples were further tested with Line Immunoassay (LIA )/MP-Western blot and RT-PCR nucleic acid test for confirmation. Blood donors confirmed positive for HTLV were tracked and followed up. Results: From 2022 to 2024, the initial ELISA reactive rate for anti-HTLV-I/II among blood donors in Hunan Province was 1.36 per 10 000 (249/1 830 342). The confirmed positive rate was 0.20 per 10 000 (37/1 830 342), accounting for 14.86% of the initially reactive donors. The follow-up success rate for confirmed HTLV-positive blood donors was only 18.92%, while that for HTLV-indeterminate donors was 54.17%. Conclusion: The confirmed HTLV infection rates in Yueyang, Loudi, Shaoyang, Yiyang, and Zhuzhou cities were higher than the provincial (0.20 per 10 000). Chenzhou, Yongzhou, Zhangjiajie, and Xiangxi were identified as low prevalence areas, with an infection rate of 0. The overall follow-up success rate was low, indicating significant difficulties and bottlenecks in follow-up work. The comprehensive screening for HTLV and follow-up studies in Hunan provide valuable data to further improve blood safety testing strategies and risk warning mechanisms.

Abstract The association of childhood sleep disorders and common oral diseases are increasingly recognized as public health challenges. The paper reviews epidemiological evidence on the bidirectional associations between multidimensional sleep indicators-including insufficient sleep duration,sleep related disorders (sleep apnea and bruxism) and evening chronotype and common oral diseases such as dental caries, periodontal diseases, and craniofacial developmental anomalies. It also explores potential neurobiological mechanisms underlying these associations. The review proposes that future research should employ longitudinal cohort studies and multi omics technologies to further validate prospective causal relationships, thereby providing a theoretical foundation for developing childhood health interventions.

Objective:To study the epidemiological characteristics and clinical diagnosis of human brucellosis in Qujing City, Yunnan Province.Methods:Through the Infectious Disease Reporting Information Management System of the China Disease Prevention and Control Information System, the basic information and clinical diagnostic data of brucellosis cases reported in Qujing City from January 2008 to December 2023 were retrospectively collected. Descriptive epidemiological methods were used to analyze the epidemic profile, three distribution characteristics (time, population, region), and diagnosis of brucellosis.Results:A total of 1 417 brucellosis cases were reported in Qujing City from 2008 to 2023, with no death. The annual average incidence of brucellosis was 1.49/100 000, with no cases reported in 2009 and 2010, and the highest incidence in 2023 (7.82/100 000). The incidence of brucellosis showed an increasing trend year by year (χ 2trend = 1 874.58, P < 0.001). The number of cases from June to November accounted for 61.54% (872/1 417). The majority of brucellosis cases were in the age group of 36 - 65 years old, accounting for 67.82% (961/1 417). Among them, there were 954 males and 463 females, with a gender ratio of 2.06 ∶ 1.00. Farmers were the main occupation, accounting for 84.33% (1 195/1 417). The cases were mainly distributed in Luliang County (621 cases), Xuanwei City (282 cases) and Shizong County (137 cases), accounting for 73.39% (1 040/1 417). The median interval between onset and diagnosis was 13 days, and the cases with intervals ≤7 d, 8 - 30 d, and ≥31 d accounted for 32.11% (455/1 417), 40.16% (569/1 417), and 27.73% (393/1 417), respectively. Totally 63.94% (906/1 417) of the cases were confirmed in medical institutions in Qujing City. Conclusions:The incidence of brucellosis in Qujing City is increasing year by year, with men, middle-aged and elderly people and farmers as the main population, summer and autumn as the peak period, and Luliang County, Xuanwei City and Shizong County as the high incidence areas. Most cases have an interval of less than 30 days between onset and diagnosis, and can be diagnosed within the jurisdiction.

Background:Optimizing cultivation techniques for traditional Chinese medicine has become a crucial means to improve the quality of medicinal materials.Microbial agents,as environmentally friendly and efficient plant growth promoters and soil conditioners,have increasingly attracted attention in eco-agriculture research.Objective:Our understanding remains limited regarding how the application of microbial agents,alone or in combination,affects changes in the rhizosphere microbiome and its association with the bioactive components of medicinal materials.Methods:In this study,Epimedium pubescens Maxim.was employed as a model plant to examine the effects of 2 microbial agents(Paenibacillus mucilaginosus and Bacillus subtilis)applied individually and in combination on plant growth and the accumulation of bioactive components.Additionally,this study explored the relationship between the rhizosphere microbiome and plant development.Results:The application of microbial agents increased the yield of E.pubescens leaves by 20.30％to 33.66％and enhanced the total flavonol glycosides content by 11.40％to 29.94％.Meanwhile,microbial treatments reshaped the rhizosphere microbiome,promoted the enrichment of beneficial microorganisms(e.g.,Frankia and Paenibacillus),suppressed phytopathogenic fungi such as Didymella and Scytalidium,and enhanced the stability of the soil microbial co-occurrence network.The partial least squares path model suggested that microbial agents not only directly impact the quality of medicinal herbs but also indirectly alter the accumula-tion of bioactive components by modulating the soil microbiome.Conclusion:These findings deepen our understanding of the relationship between medicinal plant quality and rhizosphere micro-biomes as mediated by microbial agents.They also provide a basis for designing and manipulating synthetic microbial communities to promote sustainable development in eco-agriculture.

Objective The aim of this study is to systematically analyze the therapeutic mechanisms of Wuzi Yuye Decoction in diabetic oligoasthenozoospermia based on network pharmacology and animal experiments.Methods Active components and therapeutic targets of Wuzi Yuye Decoction were screened by integrating multiple databases,and their inter-section with diabetic oligoasthenozoospermia-related targets was obtained.Common targets were identified using the Venny platform,and protein-protein interaction(PPI)networks were constructed via the STRING database.And key targets were screened through topological analysis with Cytoscape.Gene Ontology(GO)functional enrichment and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathway analyses were performed using the DAVID platform.A mouse model of diabetic oligoasthenozoospermia was established by high-fat diet combined with streptozotocin induction,followed by intervention with Wuzi Yuye Decoction.Body weight,testicular index,and sperm quality were assessed,while histopathological changes were evaluated by HE staining and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).In addition,ELISA,oxidative stress assays and Western blot were used to verify the changes in key pathway-related proteins.Results A total of 36 common targets were identified,including key nodes such as TNF,IL6 and IL1B.Enrichment analysis indicated that these targets were sig-nificantly involved in inflammatory responses,oxidative stress,autophagy-apoptosis regulation and reproduction-related pathways.Animal experiments confirmed that Wuzi Yuye Decoction markedly improved testicular mass and sperm motility in diabetic mice,reduced the levels of AGE,TNF-α,IL-6 and IL-1β in testicular tissues,alleviated oxidative stress damage,and restored autophagic flux and blood-testis barrier function by inhibiting the RAGE/NF-κB/mTOR signaling axis.Conclusion Wuzi Yuye Decoction improves the pathological progression of diabetic oligoasthenozoospermia by synergistically modulating multiple targets,including inflammation inhibition,antioxidant effects,autophagy regulation,and related pathways.

Objective:To explore the hemodynamic characteristics of the middle cerebral artery (MCA) in atherosclerotic stenosis using four-dimensional flow (4D Flow) MRI, and combining high-resolution magnetic resonance vessel wall imaging (HR VW-MRI) to analyze the relationship between hemodynamics and the degree of stenosis, as well as the morphological characteristics of plaques.Methods:The study was a cross-sectional study. A total of 24 patients with middle cerebral artery(MCA) M1 atherosclerotic stenosis and 10 age and sex matched healthy controls (HC group) were prospectively recruited from September 2018 to March 2021 at Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University. All subjects underwent MRI examination. The hemodynamic of MCA were collected by 4D Flow MRI, and the hemodynamic parameters of proximal and distal MCA stenosis were calculated by blood flow post-processing software, including average blood flow rate (FR avg), average blood flow velocity (V avg), peak blood flow velocity (V pk), time average wall shear stress (TAWSS), minimum wall shear stress (WSS min) and oscillatory shear index (OSI). The differences in hemodynamic parameters among the proximal and distal ends of MCA stenosis and the HC group were compared using one-way ANOVA or Kruskal-Wallis H test. The stenosis rate and characteristics of MCA plaque were analyzed by HR VW-MRI, including remodeling index (RI), normalized wall index (NWI) and plaque length. Pearson or Spearman correlation analysis was used to explore the correlation between stenosis rate and hemodynamic parameters. Taking the stenosis rate as the control variable, partial correlation analysis was used to explore the correlation between plaque morphological characteristics and hemodynamic parameters. Results:There were statistically significant differences in FR avg, V avg, V pk, TAWSS, OSI, WSS min among the proximal and distal stenosis of MCA and HC groups ( P<0.05). The proximal end of the MCA stenosis had significantly higher FR avg, V avg, TAWSS and WSS min than those of the distal end of the stenosis ( P<0.01). The FR avg, V avg, V pk, TAWSS, and WSS min in the distal end of MCA stenosis were lower than those in the HC group, while the OSI was higher than that in the HC group ( P<0.01). The correlation analysis results showed that the MCA proximal V pk ( r=-0.425, P=0.027) and distal V pk ( r=-0.538, P=0.004) were negatively correlated with the diameter stenosis rate. When the stenosis rate was taken as the control factor, in the MCA proximal stenosis, V avg ( r=0.553, P=0.003), TAWSS ( r=0.543, P=0.004) and WSS min ( r=0.547, P=0.004) were positively correlated with RI, proximal OSI was negatively correlated with RI ( r=-0.492, P=0.011), and was positively correlated with the plaque length ( r=0.437, P=0.026). At the distal end of the stenosis, V pk was negatively correlated with NWI ( r=-0.556, P=0.003), OSI was negatively correlated with RI ( r=-0.511, P=0.008), NWI ( r=-0.390, P=0.049). TAWSS was positively correlated with RI ( r=0.393, P=0.047). Conclusions:The 4D Flow MRI demonstrates characteristic hemodynamic changes in the proximal and distal ends of the stenotic MCA. The local hemodynamic characteristics of the stenotic MCA are correlated with plaque morphological parameters, including lumen stenosis, plaque load, and RI. It suggests an interaction between the occurrence and development of MCA plaque and local hemodynamic changes.

Objective To investigate the serum amino acid levels in patients with acute schizophrenia(SCZ)and their predictive effect on the improvement of cognitive function after treatment,so as to provide new insights into the clinical intervention of cognitive impairment in SCZ patients.Methods A total of 66 patients with acute SCZ were enrolled(case group-baseline period).Among them,36 cases completed the follow-up after 3 months of standardized treatment(case group-follow-up period);52 healthy controls(HCs)were included.The MATRICS Consensus Cognitive Battery(MCCB)was used to assess the cognitive function of all the participants.Liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(LC-MS)was employed to detect the concentrations of 18 amino acids in fasting serum of the case group-baseline period and the control group.Independent samples t-test was used to compare serum amino acid levels and cognitive function between the case group-baseline period and the control group.Paired t-test was used to compare the differences in cognitive function between the baseline period and the follow-up period of the case group.Spearman correlation analysis and multivariate linear regression model were used to investigate the correlation between serum amino acid levels at baseline in the case group and the improvement of cognitive function after 3 months of treatment.Results Compared with the control group,the cognitive function of SCZ patients in multiple dimensions at baseline was significantly reduced(P＜0.05).After treatment,the scores of Trail Making Test(TMT),Brief Assessment of Cognition in Schizophrenia:Symbol Coding(BACS),Wechsler Memory Scale-Ⅲ(WMS),and Brief Visuospatial Memory Test-Revised(BVMT)in patients were significantly improved(all P＜0.05).In addition,the levels of proline,methionine,histidine,phenylalanine,arginine,tyrosine,aspartic acid,tryptophan,lysine,and glutamic acid were significantly lower in the case group at baseline than in the control group(all P＜0.05).Among them,the baseline tyrosine level had a significant predictive value for the improvement of TMT(R2=0.136,P=0.029),Neuropsychological Assessment Battery(NAB)(R2=0.339,P＜0.001),and Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test(MSCEIT)test(R2=0.165,P=0.015).The baseline arginine level had a significant predictive value for the improvement rate of Fluency test(R2=0.113,P=0.048).Conclusion There is a decrease in various amino acid levels in patients with SCZ,and some amino acids can effectively predict the improvement of cognitive function after treatment.

Objectives:This study aims to evaluate the causal relationship between plasma proteins and myocardial infarction(MI)using two-sample bidirectional Mendelian randomization(MR)analysis,identify key biomarkers,and validate their expression.Methods:The study utilized publicly available genome-wide association study(GWAS)data of 4 907 plasma proteins as the exposure factor,with single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)as instrumental variables,and four MI datasets as outcomes.Two-sample MR analysis was performed using the inverse variance weighted(IVW)method,complemented by simple model,weighted model,weighted median estimator(WME),and MR-Egger regression methods to assess the causal relationship between exposure factors and outcomes.Venn diagrams and word clouds were used to screen proteins associated with MI as candidate biomarkers.Reverse MR analysis was conducted to evaluate reverse causality.Sensitivity analysis was performed to assess the robustness of the results.Immunohistochemistry(IHC)was used to validate the expression of proteasome activator subunit 1(PSME1)and vacuolar protein sorting 29(VPS29)in the aorta of mice,and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)was used to verify the expression of PSME1 and VPS29 in plasma from patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI).Results:The two-sample MR analysis indicated that PSME1 was significantly negatively associated with myocardial infarction in all four datasets,with OR(95%CI)of 0.684(0.557-0.839),0.990(0.987-0.993),0.579(0.448-0.748),and 0.993(0.990-0.996),respectively,with all P<0.001.Similarly,VPS29 also showed a significant negative association with MI in all four datasets,with OR(95%CI)of 0.902(0.862-0.945),0.998(0.997-0.999),0.866(0.808-0.929),and 0.998(0.997-0.999),respectively,with all P<0.001.Reverse MR analysis did not detect reverse causality,and sensitivity analysis confirmed the robustness of the results.IHC results showed significantly reduced expression of PSME1 and VPS29 in the aortas of AMI mice with an atherosclerotic background compared to control mice(both P<0.05).ELISA results indicated significantly lower plasma levels of PSME1 and VPS29 in AMI patients compared to healthy controls(both P<0.05).Conclusions:Higher levels of PSME1 and VPS29 are negatively associated with the risk of MI,suggesting that PSME1 and VPS29 may serve as protective biomarkers for cardiovascular diseases.

Purpose To explore the characteristics of gray matter(GM)volume changes in migraine patients using 7T MRI and voxel-based morphometry(VBM).Materials and Methods This prospective study enrolled 30 migraine patients and 41 age-and gender-matched healthy controls from Beijing Tiantan Hospital,Capital Medical University between November 2023 and November 2024.All participants underwent 7T MRI with 3D T1-weighted magnetization-prepared two rapid gradient-echo(MP2RAGE)sequences for structural brain imaging.VBM analysis was performed to quantify GM,white matter,cerebrospinal fluid and total brain volumes,followed by calculations of their relative percentages.The difference in GM volume between the two groups was compared to identify brain regions with characteristic GM volume changes in migraine patients.And the correlation between these characteristic GM volume alterations and clinical scales was analyzed.Results Migraine patients exhibited significantly lower total GM volume compared to healthy controls(t=2.096,P=0.040),while no group differences were observed in white matter or cerebrospinal fluid volumes(t=0.980,0.151;P=0.330,0.880).VBM analysis revealed reduced GM volume in the left orbitofrontal cortex(t=4.301,P=0.022),left hippocampus(t=5.226,P=0.006)and left parahippocampal gyrus(t=3.960,P=0.040)in the migraine group.Negative correlations were identified between:left orbitofrontal cortex GM volume and headache duration(r=-0.506,P=0.008),left hippocampal GM volume and patient health questionnaire-9 scores(r=-0.620,P=0.003),and left parahippocampal GM volume and visual analogue scale scores(r=-0.449,P=0.019).Conclusion VBM analysis based on 7T MP2RAGE data demonstrates characteristic GM volume reductions in the left orbitofrontal cortex,left hippocampus and left parahippocampal gyrus in migraine patients,with these structural alterations significantly correlate with depressive symptoms and headache burden.The observed microstructural abnormalities may reflect underlying pathophysiological mechanisms related to pain processing,emotional regulation and long-term disease burden in migraine.
